I left a message with the guy who signed me up at the end of August wanting to cancel my membership.... I never got a call back so I assumed my membership was cancelled. Then they took $107 out of my account in September.... I called them around September 20th then they told me I needed to fill out paperwork to cancel.... And even though I didn't go there one time in September (because I assumed my membership was appropriately cancelled) they refused to refund my money!!! Terrible customer service!! So I was charged $107 for something I didn't even use!!

I've been a member here for 9 months and I have nothing but good things to say about this gym. The weight room is massive with plenty of equipment for the serious bodybuilder. There are plenty of cardio machines which means you never have to wait even during peak hours. The staff members are very friendly and always willing to help. The locker rooms, toilets and showers are very clean. They recently made it a 24/7 gym which is extremely convenient for serious gym rats like myself. Would recommend this gym to anyone, beginner or pro.

We decided to join the MAC in White Marsh for the pool for the summer. We were sold by the awesome facility and promises of getting to use the pool past Labor Day. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! We will definitely go back to our old pool next year. Plus they lied. The pool stays open past Labor Day but the kids can't use it. What a rip off! Now I'm stuck paying the bill for the month but no pool for my kids to use. I've been unhappy with this pool all summer. It's so crowded all weekend. It's miserable. Most of the time you can't even find a free chair to sit in. People are allowed to save seats and not sit there for hours at a time. Terrible!! I'm guessing they exceed their legal pool capacity on the regular by the looks of it.

Very family friendly, we are loving the events they offer too. There are many different classes, excellent personal trainers and the staff are very friendly as well as helpful. The pool feels like a water park and the kids zone is amazing! We've officially made it our second home the past three months.

I have been a member for a bit over a year now. I love the group classes and they have the most motivating instructors. Since last year I’ve done a complete body transformation and feel more like an athlete now. When I first started I could barely run on the treadmill for more than 10 minutes and now I can run for 60 minutes. The family pool is also a lot of fun and my 4 year old son would agree. The only area that needs improvement is their kids swim classes. I was never able to book a one to one swim class even though they charged me for it. I’m still waiting for a refund. Very disappointed considering I really like this gym.

Had our 8 year old's birthday party here in the kids area. No indoor pool but a great jungle gym. Can only get party catering from Maria D's and they were very difficult to work with. The gym staff was awesome. 0 stars for the food staff.

Do you like scratchy towels? Do you like group class schedules that change all the time? Do you like kids running around and playing on equipment? Then this gym is for you! It’s not the worst but for $80/month they can do much, much better. If you want to try whatever new fad is around they will have it and send you nonsensical emails about it. Plenty of weights and racks and such, there are like 30 ellipticals but only about 8 stationary bikes. It’s relatively small too. No space for body exercises like planks, stretching, etc. I think the MAC spoiled me with better staff, better facilities, better kid management. If my office wasn’t .5 miles away I would join a different gym. Location, location.

I love this gym! It’s never crowded where you can’t find a piece of equipment or weights to work with. The classes are all great, esp the cycling. And the kids club is great and keeps my kids entertained. The pool is also amazing and where we plan to spend all summer. The restaurant and bar area is perfect during the pool season to grab drinks and lunch or dinner without having to leave and come back or bring your own food/snacks in. And the menu is extensive so there’s plenty of things my family will eat. There’s also kids classes offered as well. My daughter did dance classes and just had her recital and the program did a really excellent job with it all

Great place to work out, have family fun, and chill by the pool. Many workout classes available including yoga, Zumba, body attack and even aerial yoga. Kids zone is absolutely fantastic. Members can leave their kids for two hours in "heaven"- come check it out. There is a cute little cafe inside, where you can grab a drink, ice cream and chill by the pool. Also, make sure to try their protein shakes - Andy makes the best ones!

Great gym if you like working out in a daycare center. This gym has great equipment, great classes,very clean but atmosphere is that of a daycare center. Constant loud noise from kids screaming. Merritt runs a kids camp right in the gym breaking their own rules that one must be 16 to be on gym floor. Kid's Camp supervisors are with them but not keeping them off equipment unless you step to them. I should not have to enforce these rules. Cardio Theater fine if you want to watch animated kids movies with children out of control on treadmills wearing filp flops ! Forget using the pool in summer. Packed with screaming children. This place cost a lot of money and I guess worth it if you have a bunch of kids but atmosphere to me is horrible. Merritt needs to decide if it's a gym or daycare center.

As a long time member of Merritt Canton - I wanted to check out this club pool since I will be moving to Baltimore county soon. The pool is very large, I like that they also provide towels like the canton club so you don’t have to worry about your own. The lap lanes are a nice offering if you are into that. My two star review, however comes from the lack of peace and relaxation available here. Even though the children’s pool areas (there are at least 3 different pool areas for kids) are awesome- with slides, splash pads, fountains, etc, kids are still allowed on the other side which would seem like more so an adult pool. I attempted to read a book in the water and had to leave the pool due to being splashed so many times within a 5 minute period. I’m not sure why kids are allowed to literally take over every corner of the pool, but the open space near the lap lanes should be reserved for adults only in my opinion. Sometimes you just don’t want a screaming child in your ear, a wet ball being thrown across your face, or a cannonball being landed next to you. Please consider designating the leftover corner of the lap lane pool for adults only. There is enough space for kids available already...take notes from the Canton club where kids are not allowed to be in the separate adult pool.

My son met with Andrew, a personal trainer. (I came along to pay!) I'm so impressed with Andrew's ability to put clients at ease immediately. There was never any pressure, and I always felt like he had the best interest of my son at heart. His passion is evident the moment you meet him. I was so happy with his completely professional and positive vibe that I asked about joining. Andrew walked me over to two very nice women. They were very helpful. I explained my reservations about committing to a contract, and they quickly put me at ease by walking me through several options. Andrew even offered to take a class with me as well as show me how to use the machines. Wow! So impressed! I'm going to the gym next week to join!

This gym is everything to me. I have been a member since August and have already been referred by 3 new members. It is pricey yes, but you get what you pay for. There isn't a time that I go in the gym and feel like I don't want to be there or am bored. I utilize every aspect of this gym because they have everything! Especially group fitness classes, boot camp with Bernie is the best and cycling with Emily. It is always clean! My favorite part about this gym is the atmosphere, I go frequently so there are staff that remember my face, greet me, and make me feel welcomed. Aj is a lifestyle consultant that I run into often. He is super nice and anytime I have any problems or questions about anything that I know I can go to him and he will easily help me or accommodate any issues that I have. The only thing I'm still hoping for isa brita filters at one of the water fountains.

This gym has everything to offer, from classes, training , daycare, exercise classes for the kids , pool with slides and even a restaurant in there. Its a little pricey but if your are looking for all the amenities above, this place would fit you. The customer service is good at the front desk. Except this one seasoned person. The gym is nicely kept cleaned.

I went to get a membership around 11pm, the guy that work there wouldn't give me a tour of the gym because he said they weren't allowed to after 10pm, I get off work after 10pm, I spend money after I know what I'm getting in to. He asked the manager too, this doesn't happen at planet fitness, even though they don't have all the equipment I need but customers service is on top

Had my son's birthday party here and it was literally the worst experience! they put us out of the pool because airplanes were flying by and they said it was thunder yet none of the life guards were on the same page about it. they didn't reimburse me for the hour they closed down the pool during my party and rushed all of my guests out of the gym even though they took an hour from my son's party for NOTHING. then they were rude about it and harassed my party. i was the last party of the night so they could've allowed us to stay considering they took time from us. today my little brother had his party there and someone let their child poop in the pool and they didn't even call my mother to notify her that they shut down the pool and when my mother asked them why they didn't at least call her and give her a heads up , they laughed in her face and told her she can just reschedule or they can refund her 30 minutes before the party started and before guests arrived. it's very inconsiderate and ignorant for you to laugh in someone's face when you're doing business with someone and when we spend a lot of money to be members at this gym. not to mention they couldn't even give a courtesy call to let us know what was going on. their staff members are very rude and condescending individuals and i do not appreciate it. i have already cancelled my membership and will never get another membership to this gym and it sucks because my son loves it here. they need better people employed there. they charge too much money for the membership for their employees to treat people the way they do.

This was the first gym I ever joined - definitely pricey as others have said but if you go often enough, it’s worth it. Take advantage of the discounts if you’re under 25 yrs old, live with a sibling that also attends Merritt, etc!

I am not a member of the "private club" however I work near this club and my car unfortunately broke down and I had to pull into their parking lot. I called AAA and it had an ETA of 1hr. I needed to use the restroom badly. So I walked in asked to use the restroom and she asked if I had and ID. What the hell do I need an ID to just use the bathroom really quickly. Where the hell is the compassion for people? It not like I was asking much I don't believe. Merritt Club can shove the private club BS where the sun doesn't shine.

I been going to this gym since it's been open,I loved it, but for the money I pay I am feeling disappointed now, it seems more like a summer playground or camp for children instead of a serious gym, not that I don't like children,but it seems like the members with out children are second class there , not good let alone the women's locker room showed terrible neglect dirty towels thrown about hair tampons, and it smelled bad toilets where not flushed,, and some of the people seemed rude also, i am having second thoughts of this club now and may start going elsewhere, I do belong at two other gym's,, it's very disappointed , it might be the management I don't know but it changed for the worse, and for the money you pay not good,

Trying our their current promotion, 4 weeks free. So far it's alright. I go at night so there aren't many kids, besides the one taking a zumba class and a karate class. There is a play area for the kids.. not sure of the age range but my fiance and her daughter love it because we can go as a family where other gyms don't allow kids until the age of 13. So, choose another gym if you want to be kid free. 3 stars because there isn't a track to run if you dont want tredmill running.
