Acac is a very good gym (I'll explain the 3 stars in a minute). It's big, great staff, nice equipment, and great pool area. 3 big pulls and an awesome hot tub. Haven't taken their classes but heard great things. The issue I have is that brick bodies is right around the corner therefore acac has to change a few things. 1st issue is the hours. Their weekend hours suck. Brick bodies is 24 hours by the way. I can never go swimming on the weekends bc the pool closes really early. The gym closes at 7 on weekend and 11 on weekdays. 2nd issue is their price. They are more expensive than brick bodies but not by too much. 3rd issue is that their facility needs a bot of updating. Brick bodies is a brand new facility. Acac needs a bit of work. It's not as modern as brick bodies. But if these things don't bother you than its an excellent gym otherwise.

The locker room and pool area are very poorly maintained, showcasing a shameful lack of basic hygiene. (I shudder to think of the state of the men's). I no longer dare to swim there; nor do I use the shower facilities. They use noxious cleaning products, polluting already stagnant indoor air quality, yet I see nothing clean for it. "Hey, let's just spray toxic chemicals in the air and members will ignore the grime and mold." All of the weight equipment is aging, fast; some of the cardio equipment sounds like a rickety tractor trailer engine. The staff is largely unprofessional; they don't want to be there and they never miss the chance to remind you. 2 stars instead of 1 on account of the decongested membership (the one positive of a degenerating gym). Unless things drastically change and fast, I won't be renewing.

If you choose ACAC Timonium, you have to take all the risk that your locker in the locker room might be broken and your personal belongings are taken away including your car key to target your car. It’s not a joke. It just happened the day before last night, and this was not the first one. Thefts love ACAC Timonium because the managerment team has never paid attention to this kind of cases. All they have done was to send a warning “Do not leave your valuables in your car” to members. As to locker room thefts, their response was they don’t have responsibility for members’ personal belongings. All you can do is to call police and get a case number. That’s it.

ACAC is the bomb. Clean, friendly. They do need a more complete set of kettlebells. 5, 10, 15 40, 50. I love the staff, the atmosphere, the people. It is a great place to get into shape. I love it. I appreciate the care and the respect and the service attitude.

This gym just keeps getting worse and worse. The facility has been without air conditioning for most of the summer and the response given to members is that they are in a dispute with the landlord. The gym is filthy. Equipment goes for ages without being repaired (including the two water fountains on the main floor). They took out the basketball court and replaced it with gross, used carpeting for a supposed "functional training area." Look elsewhere - this place is the pits.

Group exercise classes at acac are often the highlight of my week. I am obsessed with the new EDGE cycle studio and love the special events! The instructors are friendly and fun, also incredibly knowledgeable and challenge me to work hard. And the cafe makes the best post-workout smoothies - love that I can order before class and it's ready to go when I'm finished! :)

Love this gym. Especially the "extras" like childcare, "Date Nights" on Fridays, towel service, a nice big sauna, and a decent cafe. But 2 wishlist items: an actual fresh pressed juice bar (like they have at Zia's), and add a machine called the Power Plate (I've written letters asking for one, but either get no response at all, or a "sorry not this year" response)

I like that the equipment is designed for those who have had some issues such as myself bilateral knee replacements and getting back into the swing of a exercise program I wish they opened a tad bit earlier however I just have to adjust until I can do better !!!

I have been a member here over 5 years. The location is perfect for me as it is right across the street from where I work so it is very convenient. It is one of the main reasons I still go here. That being said they a renovating right now and it is very trouble some to work out. They compacted the workout/free weights area into a tiny space and it get so crowded it makes me not even want to workout. I hope the renovations turn out to be worth the trouble. Also some of the trainers are very rude while most of the upfront staff is helpful and nice.

I love ACAC and had been enjoying the equipment until the last 3 months when they decided to change everything. I appreciate the intention but honestly The new equipment are complex, so intimidating and not fun at all. They are not user friendly! I’ve patiently tried, believing that with time I’ll get the hang of those equipment, i even requested for a trainer to show me ... but they are not working for me at all. hanging in there because staff are so nice, but... thats really not enough... So discouraged right now, I fear loosing all the strides I’d made.... I wonder if I’m the only one feeling so frustrated

As a frumpy 50-something female who forgot how to exercise - I have found the MAC in Timonium to be perfect for my needs. I have used a trainer who is patient, supportive and caring; she even text(s) me. I am not a "jock", but have a goal to become more fit and avoid the muscle loss naturally associated with aging. Is it expensive? I think - "You get what you pay for" and that is what I am getting from the MAC. thank you.

I like this gyms locker rooms and indoor swimming area. Onsite child care is a great benefit. The wide open center of everything area where they have treadmills is kind of weird. They should put a triple decker parking lot on the side and expand the site to include an outdoor pool and baby pool area! Front desk staff is courteous. The management and administrative staff is top notch.

Fantastic Group Exercise program. Nice people work there, and nice people go there! My wife and I have been members at the MAC since it opened. We participate in the MAC NRG and MAC Fusion aerobic group exercise programs. We get there almost every week. The instructors are terrific. And the people in the classes are very nice, too. We believe these workouts are the most important element of our effort to stay healthy and active. It's working great for us! -- Doug & Francesca

Visited today as a guest. I was surprised to see that the MAC is now ACAC - I loved ACAC when I lived in Virginia! There were a few Woodway treadmills which was a very welcome sight, but the rest of the gym looks the same as it did when it was the MAC. I plan to be back during visits to the area!

I am SO excited to see all the new renovations coming to acac Timonium! The new group exercise and cycle studios are amazing. They offer more family programming than any of the other gyms in the area if you have kids, and they're always doing something fun for the members. Thank you, acac, for providing a level of service I haven't found anywhere else in Timonium!

As Wellness chairperson for my employer I've worked very closely with Maria in developing plans for our employees for over 2 years now. Which included my own wellness journey. While the price of the club is more than most gymd it certainly makes up for it in amenities and value especially if you have health issues and are looking to start a comprehensive wellness journey. With a wide range of equipment, 4 pools, classes, kids clubs, multiple locations and 24hr access. ACAC definitely gets vote as a 5 star wellness center for the family.
