Went to Sequence Climb last weekend for a friend's bachelor party. Our whole group had a great time. It's a really nice space. The gym is very clean, bright, and well put together. The bouldering is fantastic! There are a lot of different options for all different skill levels. The owner Graham made us feel very welcome. Once we were all checked in he was eager to give us a tour. He gave our group samples of the Nitro cold brew coffee (delicious) and shared with us some of his personal favorite boulder problems in the gym. We left very pleased and I would definitely recommend this spot! Thanks Graham!

Very fresh place and clean. Gym is organized in a way where it is comfortable to hang out. It is very convenient to have a gym access as part of the climb!

No idea what to rave the most about in this review because the business as a whole is AMAZING. The owners are oft present and the kindest individuals who always want to make sure things are going well/to help you if you’re struggling up a particular wall. The walls themselves are prime, with different sections being changed every week for fun new puzzles. This is all before I even mention to weight room and yoga included almost every day of the week in a separate section of the building. A truly amazing location that is worth visiting and getting a membership at.

I’m not a big climber but I’ve been to my fair share of gyms and this was by far the best I’ve been to. The routes were very fun and there was a large variety of beginner to expert climbs available. Very clean place, great atmosphere, great location, and great staff. Awesome yoga studio and fitness room too!

Sequence offers a beautiful social space to climb and exercise on the most contemporary wall set-up available. The management was kind and knowledgeable. 10/10 will return again!

The options for climbing in KC has tripled since I moved here three years ago, but Sequence doesn't feel like just one more place to climb. The people there are welcoming, helpful, and very friendly. My friend and I are casual climbers but were able to enjoy 15+ routes that were clearly marked with appropriate difficulty. The space is also clean, spacious, and is a very relaxed atmosphere. It's a little pricier than nearby options (notably ROKC Underground) but it's also larger and has more options. Overall, I had a blast and will absolutely be back soon.

A day pass is just under $20 not including any gear you want to rent. There are showers and changing rooms, a social area with couches, Wi-Fi, and kombucha and cold brew coffee on tap... The music is a nice selection, not too distracting from the climb, but also providing a nice background noise. Really chill place.

Had an awesome first time climbing at Sequence. Great routes, plenty of space, clean environment, and a friendly staff makes this place a must visit for a good workout.

Malory Carberry

I love this gym. As a climber from Boulder that travels to KC and the Crossroads neighborhood for work quite often, I was psyched when Sequence opened. Great route setting, fun atmosphere, awesome staff.

Marc Gilbert

Very nice bouldering gym well located in KC, can welcome lots of people without interfering with other people (lots of problems/route) There is also a gym available Great staff, great experience

The owner Graham and staff here make this place feel like a community. A very encouraging environment for new climbers. I’m proud to be a member here!

I was a little worried that Sequence would be too crowded during the grand opening, but clearly this gym was built to be able to occupy a TON of people. Even with a swarm of people, I had no problem finding routes. Friendly staff, awesome routes. My ONLY beef is that I don’t love the crash pads. I very much want to feel like if I fall that I can land safely. The pads here are on the stiffer side compared to other gyms in KC.

Top notch bouldering gym. The route setters have done a great job creating problems for a wide range of difficulties, and a wide variety of maneuvers. There is overhang, slab, cave, competition style, and any other type of boulder you might be looking for. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I was only in town for a day, so they recommended some of the cooler boulders, and even gave me some good tips for food and other activities while I was in town. You will truly feel welcome at this gym. This is one of the cooler gyms I've visited. I'll definitely be returning.

The best climbing gym in Kansas City. Up to date with the best equipment and training area that will take your climbing to the next level. Also great place to study or get some work done.

This is one of the most clean-cut, modernized and comfortable gyms I’ve visited (and I’ve been to hundreds and been an owner of two). It’s all bouldering, which may deter some who like ropes and autos, but the setting is well-varied from first-class-fun to stout-hard, something for everyone. There’s a Tension board for those who want to train and nice free-weight workout area. There’s also a nice yoga studio. I took a class with Amanda as the instructor and she was a great guide - I highly recommend. Overall the layout, design and feel of this facility is spot-on. Worth a visit if you’re in the KC area. If I lived in the area I’d have a membership here.

This place is everything I've dreamed of coming to Kansas City. By far the best climbing gym in the city.

A well thought out facility complete with plenty of training equipment and excellent route setting. Plenty of space, tons of routes of all difficulties, great playlist, and helpful and good looking staff. Seriously. Manager is a hawtie. It’s sometimes hard to concentrate on climbing.

Kevin Kandola

Awesome gym with some very interesting boulder problems. Andrew was knowledgeable and answered all my questions I plan come back very soon!

Lots and lots of routes and space. It almost feels like there are too many routes to the point where there are routes just to have routes. Some feel kinda bland. But there's plenty to choose from! They have a really cool vision for the place, promoting bike use and the street car, showcasing a lot of businesses like local bakeries. The fitness area is well set up, except that the over head bars ij the squat racks, to do pull ups on, are too low. I'm too tall for all of them so I just have to bend my legs. Kind of stinks, but most people wont have to worry about that.

Great bouldering gym!!!!! Big, lots of problems to work, and with varying difficulty! I think this is the largest bouldering gym in KC. Really like the vibe of the place. Just an all around great rock climbing gym. Friendly staff and friendly climbers. Great community.

Greg Romine

Went to Sequence Climb today and really liked it. If it’s your first time, maybe ask the employees about hand care. Andrew at the front desk was incredibly helpful. Can’t wait to go back again!

Update to owner: I appreciate the condescending reply. Nice place very clean and well organized. My only issue is with the skill level of the wall. I’m a casual climber, I enjoy going to the gym every once and a while and I have the knowledge to fake it most of the time. My buddy is a bit more seasoned with a bit more strength and skill. I could only complete 0.1 walls with the exception of one 2.3. My buddy could barely do 3.2. The the walls are a bit to challenging and it’s not much fun for anyone looking to switch it up and try bouldering. We were done climbing after only an hour.

I met the owner and another staff member and they were both super friendly and helpful. This gym has a ton of space both on and off the wall, so even when it's busy I imagine it doesn't feel too crowded. There was a variety of bouldering problems across pretty much every grade, and I found that the grading system encouraged me to try problems that I might not have otherwise. They have walls at every angle as well. The holds all had really good texture and there was a nice variety of shapes and sizes. I'm a novice climber, so I found the south wall especially nice because they only set grades V4 and below on it. The only discomfort I felt was that the walls felt a bit taller than I'm used to and the floor is particularly firm, so I felt pretty unsure about falling from the top, and there are no topouts. (EDIT 7/23/19: I've been learned that firm floors help provide more stability for the feet and ankles when landing, which can help prevent rolled or broken ankles. This makes sense to me, so this is less of a problem in retrospect.) They put up a lot of downclimb holds which is helpful, but sometimes they felt awkwardly spaced. Some of the problems above the cave looked notably hard to downclimb. The changing rooms separate from the restrooms are quite helpful because I typically climb after work, but I don't like changing into climbing clothes in the restroom. The restrooms were clean and spatious though, so it wouldn't be a big deal in any case. The workout room is fairly large and has various equipment in it. I feel confident that I could get a comprehensive workout here. I was able to attend a course on preventing injury that was quite informative, and the instructor was very friendly and willing to answer questions beyond what was covered in the course. I was also told these courses are free for members of the gym, which is excellent. Unfortunately I won't be able to go often enough for a full membership, but I will definitely purchase the punch pass and I plan to keep an eye out for more courses. I'm really glad I decided to check it out!

Sequence is amazing! Great variety of problems for all climbing levels. The staff members are welcoming and ready with answers for all concerns and questions. The bathroom is clean and there is a separate changing area. Wonderful space for novice and advanced climbers.

Cody Icke

I'd you like to boulder this is the place for you. Brand new walltopia walls and brand new holds feel amazing. Plenty of routes for all grades.

David Bean

Best climbing gym in KC! It is only a bouldering gym, but it is top class. Great workout area and yoga room. Everyone that works there is really nice and can give you great beta. I definitely recommend everyone check this place out.

Iuma Estabrooks

So many different routes it's hard to know where to start.

Josh Birkins

Great new bouldering spot. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Daniel Gilliland

Love it. My new favorite spot. Owner was really chill and there was plenty of space to climb.

Julie Checchio

Beautiful gym! Wonderful community of people, great vibe and awesome for climbers of all levels (including those new to climbing like me!) They have free introduction classes with hands on training to get you comfortable with the environment and teach you about climbing if you’re new. They put up new boulders on a weekly basis so there’s always new problems to solve. They also have really awesome events for the members and community (like their recent women crush Wednesday event and their member appreciation events). There’s also a fitness room and yoga classes.

vienna villaluz ilagan

Loved the setting. Great new Boulder spot downtown.

Steve Dickman

Very clean. Great variety for all skill levels. Open and inviting atmosphere. Ideal for young adults. Friendly members and staff. First time experience, stayed for 5 hours and was still only able to work through about one fifth of the climbing options available for beginners. Routes are continually rotated on a weekly basis and are adjusted throughout the week to add increased variety. I would highly recommend.
