Best Zumba in town!! Stephanie is the best!! Love Group power and Active. I feel like there are great instructors-love Melanie and Shelly!! Love the outdoor pool and food and drink option for poolside. Please keep it clean-I've always seen people cleaning every time I come. That's a huge deal!!

Ben

Slowly going downhill! I'll change my rating when all the elepticals work. Expect it to stay at one star for a while. It's only been 6 months since all worked. Feel free to wipe the dust off of the out of order signs

Jenny Bonawitz

Great place to workout! Many machines and lots of classes to choose from!

Michael Breen

Love my gym but it does need updating somewhat. Perfect for me as it's on the way to work. The Staff are excellent.

Bill Cunningham

Our family has been a member for two months now and since day one we have found this facility to be first class. From the moment you walk in your greeted with smiles and you know their service is unlike other health clubs. This club offers everyone a one of a kind training. Believe me when I say I've been pleasantly surprised. Don't hesitate.. make a commitment to improve your health you will not be disappointed. Their trainers will develop an individual plan to help you lose weight, improve your fitness and ultimately build muscle.

Before the gym was bought out by Genesis it was amazing. They had professional management that responded in a timely manner. Since the gym has changed ownership it has completely gone down hill. They have increased prices, even though they claimed they would not. No one in management knows what is going on and will just leave you hanging if you have a question. I would highly suggest joining a different gym.

The best Genesis I've been to, and I've been to five regularly. The treatment from the staff is by far better than any other gym I've ever been to, Genesis especially. There is massive variety of equipment to choose from and the locker room really is 5 star. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid place to exercise.

Ashley suter

Everyone is very friendly, trainers are super nice and well-educated, lots of great amenities. I love that all of the classes are free with a Premium membership, they have a great lap pool and the locker rooms are spacious and clean. Overall, one of the best health clubs Genesis has.

Kyle Lockhause

Even though there was an ownership change from an independent owner to a chain as large as Genesis, it has been a smooth and hardly noticeable transition, outside of seeing new t-shirts on the same employees! I have been going to this gym for years and plan on continuing that tradition since I have been quite happy with all of the changes, or lack there of.

Pete Buffkin

This gym seems to only care about getting your money. When you decide to discontinue with them they make it difficult; requiring you to come into the facility to meet in person rather than using technology (even a conversation on the phone) to accept your decision and move forward. In our case this delayed the process. They still wanted our dues for the months after we had expressed our desire to discontinue, even though they had records showing no one had used their facility for months before we expressed our desired to discontinue.

Brent Green

Great facility overall! Large with lots of equipment options for lifting and cardio. Even on busy days, there are equipment options available. Lots of class options also. My son and I enjoy the racquetball courts also. Most staff are friendly and engaging (this would be the only reason I didn’t rate them a full 5).

Chris Tidd

Great factuality.. lots of amenities.. they are proud of it! Just have to find the right times to go as it can be very busy!

Heather Cotten

LOVE this gym! I love that all the group classes are included in the membership and I especially appreciate the lap pool, since I am a swimmer. Locker rooms & showers are clean and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful always. Highly recommend!

I used to love this place when it was Healthridge and have been a member for over 10 yrs. It’s gone downhill since Genesis took it over. It’s dirty, they’re frequently out of workout towels and sadly, the clientele has changed for the worst (more “meathead”). I used to love the cardio area but when they have the fight classes in the open area above, the music is so loud that I can’t even hear my own headphones. They’ve also tried to squeeze so much equipment in that it feels crowded and cluttered. Time to leave. :(

Rebecca Rinke

I love love LOVE the classes and instructors. It's easy to fall off the wagon when exercising independently, but the classes make it so much fun, you WANT to go. I like that the instructors push you to step outside of your comfort zone, and push to levels you haven't previously been to. It's so exciting to see your body change in ways you had given up on. I joined after being an accountability partner during the MELT program, BECAUSE of the classes. The atmosphere is energetic and electric. I haven't found that at any other gym.

Travis Swanson

Too many people now and the crowd has changed.

cinderellayule01

The gym is clean. Workers are nice and most of the trainers are great! Most importantly the facility is CLEAN and well maintained. Something to consider having 24hr gym hours!

Andrew Petrowsky

My family and I (2 adults, 2 children under 5) have been members at HealthRidge for about 2 years now, and we love it. After reading some of the reviews below, I'm not sure what club people are actually referring to. It's not high-pressure: the sales rep who showed me around was friendly and didn't pressure me at all. They don't nag you about doing for-pay events: I had my one free personal training session, told her I wasn't interested in having another, and that was the last I heard about it. She still was friendly when she saw me working out. When I have asked about various groups/classes that are additional-cost, I have gotten information and never felt pressured to join. My kids love the kids area. I am keeping them away during flu season (it's clean, but it's still flu season), and my kids ask when we're going back. The addition of the outdoor pool was a nice addition - though it is FREEZING, even when it's 90+ outside. I never have problems finding a machine to work out on, and I LOVE the indoor track - probably the biggest reason I stay. The cafe has a wide variety of snacks, but I haven't eaten any of their sandwiches, just snacks. Biggest negative is the cost, which is why I'm not putting it at "excellent", but it's not that much more than the local Y and the facility is much nicer. Wish classes fit better into my schedule, but that's more my issue than the club's.

Hannah DeLee

Love this location!! By far the best Genesis in the area. Friendly and helpful trainers, clean facility, great variety of free weights, cardio, and classes and a beautiful outdoor swimming pool

Candace Egnoske

Only concerned about sucking you in. Not what your health goals are. I assured several people to join& now regretting it. If there are members that need tennis courts & wiling to pay extra that’s fine, but, all gyms except the portion for the tennis should be good for members. No thank you to Connor at Health Ridge.....you are $$$$$$$$ motivated..?Sorry I joined.

ripvanmerlin van

If I rated the water aerobics classes I have attended the rating would be a 4 or 5. But since I am rating the whole facility I would have to give it a three due to the cleanliness of the locker rooms. Otherwise, great facility.

Jonathan Johansen

Large facility with a lot of variety of workouts to choose from. The staff is friendly and helpful.

kevin richardson

Nice club, gets crowded. So it has almost been a year and while things started out good, they have since deteriorated. Pro's 1. Decent free weight area. 2. Plenty of cardio equipment. 3. Decent cafe. Con's 1. Club is dirty, not always clean. Steam room is sometimes clean, showers have mold, Hot tub is not always clear and has dirt . 2. Towel service is hit or miss. Just get towels as you walk in. They might be out at any minute. 3. I see a maintenance guy walking around, but I don't know what he is doing. Not fixing broken items. Seems complaints don't make a difference.

Derrick Whipkey

Best place to work out, swim (there are 2 indoor and one outdoor pool with a bar to choose from). They have everything here!!!

Jackson Szasz

While it is a huge beautiful gym I would still not suggest going here. The staff is rude and when you sign up for a membership they tell you that you get full access to all of the facilities you do not they make you pay extra memberships to use almost half of the building. As soon as me and my wife’s contract is up we are most certainly leaving this gym.

Kadi Davis

I’m so disappointed to have to write this review. When this was privately owned as “Healthridge”, it was top notch in cleanliness, trustworthiness, and lack of a judgmental gym feel. Things have gone downhill since Genesis took over. Be wary of any recent review on here claiming the facilities are “very clean”. The locker rooms and bathrooms smell like sewage and are disgusting. It’s clear they don’t employ people to clean these anymore and just send employees in to do so at the end of their shifts. I regularly find poop-overflowing toilets, wads of used toilet paper all over the ground, no paper towels, and trash everywhere. The pool bathrooms are unusable. Seriously, ask to see them during a tour and you won’t join the club. New management doesn’t mind putting money into new CrossFit and paid class equipment, but won’t put salt down in the winter on top of icy sidewalks. Additionally, don’t expect AC to work in the building at any given time. I would say once a week AC is down in either the kids center, the yoga studio, or the group studio. The ONLY redeeming qualities about this health club are the (dwindling) wonderful childcare workers and the pre-genesis class teachers. I have no idea why these fantastic people have stuck around but if things don’t change, I’ll be leaving when they do.

2/28/19 I just recently joined and didn't really check the place out. I just assumed it was as nice as it was a year ago when I had visited. That review is the paragraph below. Let me start by saying, my have things changed! I definitely should not have assumed anything!! The upper workout area and track is always filthy. The track area is covered with dust bunnies and sweat drips and/or beverage drips, two of the three clocks on the track do not work and there are always dirty towels and litter laying on the floor and in the windows. The equipment on the upper level is covered in dust and sweat and at least 5 treadmills were not working last weekend. There are rarely towels available to wipe down the equipment with after using it. There is never any staff in the upper workout area to ask how to use equipment. In my opinion, there should be one person in the area at all times available to help people and also to continuously clean/wipe down the machines, including the bases, and collect the dirty towels and litter around the track. The women's locker room is rundown. The carpet area is never vacuumed and is need of shampooing at the minimum. The lockers are filthy on the inside and need to be wiped out. The entrance to the building is cluttered with pallets, boxes and snow removal equipment. When I had my initial fitness evaluation I was told I would receive an email copy of my fitness plan the same day. It's been a week and I still don't have it, even after contacting someone at the gym who said they would pass the info on so it would be sent. I have been to yoga and flexibility classes, which I really enjoyed and will continue to participate in. That room appears to be clean although it has a faulty sound system connection. Don't assume gentle yoga will be relaxing because all the crackling sound makes it anything but. And, given the fact that other areas of the facility are so dirty, it does make my skin crawl when I use their mats. I can only imagine all the grossness that's on them! So with this all being said, Genesis Ridgeview has the potential to be awesome. Hopefully management will do something to make the much needed changes/ improvements soon! Great, full service fitness center. Has an awesome variety of equipment, classes and services. Has an indoor track, pools and hot tubs. The locker room has showers and towels. The only downer is that they have long term contracts (3 years) for decent membership fees which is why I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5.

Keith Darnell

Since Genises bought out our Health Ridge the place has taken a nose dive. It has turned into a free for all. Brandon, the manager is ineffective and a smart ass. Locker room is disgusting, over all level of service is despicable. Rates are now $44 for all you looking for a overcrowded, under staffed, mismanaged facility this is your stop. I couldn't be more disappointed in how quickly Brandon/Genises has ruined a once jewel health club.

Obechosc Styx

Good gear, clean, pay for commodities as the price is higher end.

hunter clyde

This gym is a disgusting rip off. When Healthridge owned it, the gym was well maintained. Now there is mold in the showers, half of the tv screens don’t work... and wait till the ding you for the yearly upgrade fee (the fee they should use to make sure everything is working. Genesis is letting the gym become run down while increasing fees.... this is not a premier gym anymore... save your money!

Bernadine Crawley

Nice place to workout, friendly staff!

John Stallman

Great Gym. Family friendly and has two indoor pools

Mel E.

This is a first class health club. My son and I live in San Diego and are in town for a few weeks. Steve Fitzwater gave us a great deal on a 3 week pass so my son and I could work out here. It is always clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, at least half of the cardio equipment is available every time we come, and the spa is fantastic. I was shocked to see the 1 star ratings. Seriously, I work out at an elite gym in San Diego and Genesis beats them by a mile. When I move back here, I am joining Genesis!

Rita Erickson

I’m new to Genesis and to going to the gym. This has been a marvelous experience. I’ve learned so much from my personal trainer, Travis. He’s made my work outs not only challenging but they leave me feeling good about my time in the gym. I’ve also indulged in multiple classes. I do mean “indulge”. Not only were they a good workout but rewarding and fun. Sure makes it easier to show up to the gym when you know your gonna feel great when you leave. Thanks Genesis!

Angel Nottage

Awesome facility! Great staff!

H. S.

Gym is still very much in need of maintenance, most is minor and cosmetic. Still evidence of mold in pool area, as well as large chunks peeling from ceiling. Small thing, but if you are planning on watching t.v. on the cardio machines be warned that not all channels work, even though they are supposed to. (One day a message was even displayed about paying the Direct T.V. bill)

Janice Winderson

Where do I begin. With a gym membership that costs this much money it has so many flaws throughout management and employees. When Genesis was Healthridge it was a beautiful, top notch, well respected facility. Now it is a mess. The only part of this gym I have never had an issue with is the spa. The front desk staff is extremely rude, specially the teenage brunette girl that vapes in front of the members, and children. I have seen the way she talks to her other employees and the members and it is disgusting. When you call and your lucky the phone gets answered, however if you need help you are just transferred around and no one knows a real answer. My kids play in the daycare and while all the employees there are seemingly good, it is frustrating that they do not change diapers and the gym part of it is rarely open for them. My kids one time told me an employee was “smoking” ( I assume vaping) but the next time I came in to address that, the manager did not seem to understand or care what I was saying. The locker rooms and cafe are really where I draw the line. The locker rooms always have toilets that are clogged with poo and feminine products ( I’ve never seen the men’s but the woman’s is a mess), there are rarely towels, hot tubs and steam rooms don’t get cleaned, many lockers falling off the hinges, and etc. The worst part is is that if you inform one of the towels kids down there they will straight up tell you “it is not their problem” and “cleaning staff will fix it” the only issue is is that apparently the cleaning staff comes in at 10pm when the gym is closing so there isn’t much that can be done. If you tell them that the towels are out they will claim to be going as fast as they can, but they sit on their phones and play. One time I even saw them spraying eachother with the cleaning spray. The cafe food is not amazing and it is overpriced which I know is not the employees problem but you have to ring a bell many times for someone to even acknowledge you and when they do they are rude. I have seen them make shakes and grab muffins with no gloves or without washing their hands. Aside from all the fault within poor management and lazy employees, I have seen many fights break out in the basketball area, all the machines are so close together it almost feels claustrophobic and the machines are rarely ever open. The indoor pool is always dirty, however the outdoor one is fairly nice. If you try to cancel your membership, they are still very rude to you and it is an annoying process and you still get charged for the next month after it is cancelled. Seriously, spending a little extra money is worth it to go to either Lenexa Rec or Lifetime.

Caitlin Elmore

Joined the gym just last week and I am loving the group classes! The trainers are very welcoming and help you to get the most out of your workout! Love that there are multiple options for workout times so that my friends can meet me after work!

Yousef2142

Make sure to ask them how many years your contract will be, the employee who signed me up did not mention this to me. I'm an international student here for another year and a half, and I would have never signed any sort of 3 year contract if I had been informed. Now they are charging me 275$ to break the contract, and I can do absolutely nothing about it. I wouldn't expect a gym to try and trick you using a contract, but Genesis does exactly that. Steve is the employee who helped me that day, he did not mention anything duration related when we were going over the contract. Read and ask questions before signing any contract people !

Eric W

Disappointed new member. Big facility with a lot of machines and workouts, however, the have to sometimes look around for an open locker when the facility is not that packed, meaning people are claiming the lockers for themselves. All lockers should be opened at the end of business. They also need fans in these locker rooms, with the jacuzzi and steam room, you cant dry off because of the humidity.

Kelly Schneweis

Once again the club was not open at 5am. This is the 4th time in 3 months. A staff member finally showed up at 5:45am. Management promised this would never happen again because they had a protocol in place. Guess your protocol failed. I have been a member for 3+ years. The new owner doesn't seem to care if these issues occur. Guess it may be time to start looking for a new gym.

paul cordill

The gym itself is very nice, management and billing department never calls you back, I had to cancel 3 times and it took 4 months before they finally stopped taking payments out. Management was very rude and never would call back.

Michele Buffkin

I have been a member since 2011, called to stop membership and they cont to bill my credit card. It was evident that I was no longer using the gym. I called again and they told me I had to come in to cancel my membership. They would not work with me. I never got any personal trainiing that they promised when I signed up. They just wanted more money, asked why I was leaving and told them.

Brenda Nicoski

Genesis Health Club in Olathe, Ridgeview location has top notch fitness class instructors. I have enjoyed going there for over 10 years now. Excellent club!!

Alexandria Martin

Brandon Major is the REASON we signed up...that and the 7 day free trial! Facility is amazing. Check it out and ask for Brandon! PS: indoor track and two indoor pools are definitely a plus!

Steven Long

This is the nicest health club I've been to, and I'm always shocked that it doesn't cost me more than it does. Huge class schedule. They have separate hot tub / steam room / saunas split by gender. Family locker rooms to help avoid that awkward feeling of having a child watch you change clothes. Long indoor track. Nice outdoor pool. Good trail run outside.

Curtis Lange

I was contacted out of the blue with what seemed like a killer deal for membership. Had been tossing around the idea of getting a gym membership so I responded requesting more information. Set up an appt a couple days later for my lunch break to sign up. That is where the shadiness started. Everything was done on a condensed version of the contract on a tablet. Also found out, in passing, the killer deal price I had been quoted was only when you tie a checking account to the membership. After I left, I was then forwarded a copy of the contract. Reading through the contract, I found something interesting. What was NEVER once mentioned was the contract was for three years!?! I immediately contacted the rep (this was less than three hrs after stopping by the gym) and requested the contract be cancelled. There was no way I was getting locked in to a three year contract. That is asinine; something cable companies don’t even do. As of this review, two weeks later, I am still waiting on a resolution to my liking. Do NOT fall for their tricks and sign up here. 12/5/17 Update: After going through the BBB, I received notification in November that Genesis agreed to cancel the contract. Should not have had to take me doing that.

Edward Roche

Spacious and clean facility with all the equipment needed to meet my weight loss, health, and strength goals. Attentive staff are at hand and ready to serve. Genesis Health Clubs has worked hard to please me as a small business owner providing a reduced cost gym membership offering to all my employees. The Genesis Health Clubs are available near our offices and our employees homes all over the KC Metro and in Lawrence and Lee's Summit! And they can use any of them!

Maggie Fleming

CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS HERE. they do not care about you at all. Got billed wrongly and they refuse to take care of it.

Addie Craver

The staff is friendly and the place is clean. Im very insecure about my appearance but I feel comfortable coming here to workout!

Megan Cibulski

Love the Olathe location! The front desk staff are always welcoming and make sure to tell everyone thanks for coming in as they walk out the door. The trainers are amazing! They're all super friendly and helpful and do a great job of creating unique workouts for clients based on their personal goals. Classes are always full and it's great seeing people of different ages, abilities, and areas of growth throughout the club. I would highly recommend this location!

dorothy clopton

Clean, no waiting for machines, friendly staff, 3 pools (2 inside, 1 outside) very pleasant lobby with TVs and fireplaces and a good cafe. I have been a member for awhile and my monthly rate is better than any other place I have checked. Good variety of classes to choose from. My son and I are very happy here. Kara's gentle yoga is great!

Ryley Thornton

Don't do business with this place. They don't work with you on billing if you are struggling financially. They honestly just don't care about their customers. They lock you in for two years. Draft whatever they want from your account, no matter your situation. Absolute joke. What happened to respect, honor, and standing up for the customer? This business follows none of these characteristics. I will not be coming back again, and will not recommend to any friends or family.

mike north

The place in general is nice and staff is nice. The locker rooms are a bit of a mess. Seems a lot of lockers stay locked over days(can be the last person there and numerous lockers locked.) I would say too many have broken doors. Constantly out of paper towels. Have seen dumbbells stay on the floor for days. I’d say for the price, I’d expect the place to be nicer.

Dawn Norris

3 stars bec the facility is wonderful. The service sucks. Eaither they act like they are being forced to work or have no interest in you at all.

Angelica Wilcox

I've been a member of this gym for about 7 years, and I do enjoy going here. I love the group exercise classes, and the walking/running track is nice. They do seem to be constantly improving various features, so sometimes it is annoying when my favorite shower stall or the whirlpool/hot tub is out of order. Improvements to the parking lot surface made me happy. A lot of body types, ages, and ability levels are present at this club, both employees and patrons. It's a good mix. My only complaint: please stop playing HGTV bullshit on the televisions in and near the locker rooms.

Michelle Napier

Perfect opportunity for a Kickstarter by constantly noticing that we are all here for one purpose... To get fit and healthy. I am taking advantage of all the opportunities that come with a membership to year!

Asher C.

Probably the most amazing gym and pool I've ever been to.

Jamie Couch

I've been at this location for almost a year now, coming from a CrossFit gym previously. I cannot say enough good things about the kids area and child care that is provided here. I truly enjoy all of the people that work in there taking care of my kiddos and am so thankful to have such caring people watching over my kids. As for the gym, as far as big gyms go, I feel like this location does a good job with the amount of people that are there at any given time and with keeping their facilities up to date and in working order. I feel that they take advice and complaints seriously and that they are trying to add new things (classes, squat racks, a few bumper plates) to keep their members happy and current with new trends of exercise classes and lifting preferences. There are some minor things that have bothered me about this club but overall, I really like it. The trainers I have talked to are incredibly nice and, for the most part, the club is an enjoyable place to workout in in whatever capacity one prefers.

Bill Hailey

Beautiful, very clean club. Everyone, and especially the managers, deliver great customer service.

Lindsey Devlin

Moe is my favorite trainer. He is friendly, fun, reliable, and I trust him 100%. He is knowledgeable and goes above and beyond every session for me!

Rebecca Kisling

Well kept, and nice and updated. Definitely would recommend. The only thing I would improve is having more open space for stretching/solo workout.

Cheryl Wetherington

Gone downhill since ownership change. We've watched the cleanliness of this gym deteriorate significantly since Genesis took over. The cold pool had algae growing for well over a month. Talking to employees, they said they had reported it to management multiple times, to no effect. I reported it myself twice over a couple of weeks. Then there was sand in the warm pool, and sand in the jacuzzi, both indicating a backup of the filters. The worst, my daughter sent me a video of some type of worms in the shower. I like the amenities of this gym, the warm and cold pools, the hot tub, the saunas, and they have replaced old equipment. But the cleanliness is severely lacking. I don't take any classes so I can't comment on that. Maintain the equipment in a sanitary manner, and actually put in some grout in the hot tub (left over lack from previous owners) and I would be happy. Until then, I approach the gym with care.

Laura Nadeau

Love the atmosphere! Love my trainer! Love the Zumba classes! Great place to let it all go!!

Michael Jones

Shady sales tactics, never stop calling me.

Nick Burkart

Best Genesis there is. Place is top of the line and has everything and more you could ever need in a fitness facility. Staff is very friendly and on top of keeping the place clean. Hard not to spend hours at a time here. Great place!

Noel Umali

Love the little amenities that the club offers like locker, towels and soap! I can’t imagine going anywhere else

John Sellman

I like the size of the facility as well as the cleanliness. Towels are provided for our convenience and they have a large lap pool. They have plenty of cardio equipment, weights and weight machines so you usually do not have to wait. The outdoor pool is nice in the summer

Michael D

Horribly maintained and falling into disrepair. This was a great location when it was owned independently dently as healthridge, but since genesis purchased the location it has fallen apart. Complained multiple times about missing and broken equipment and still no resolution months later. Always runs out of clean towels, soap, etc...Save yourself the headache and join Lenexa rec center or lifetime instead.

Roberto Lemus

Great place to workout play ball or swim can't go wrong and you can sign up for kids club so they can watch your kids for two hours!

M Roycakes

Outstanding place with 3 pools, one of them warm water for older people. Great facility.

Johnny Frye

This is the first time I have ever cancelled a gym membership due to not being happy with facility staff and the corporate office. I was originally a Golds Gym member and they bought out Golds Gym. So I made the switch even though my monthly payment went up $10 a month for the exact same gym. I then moved out to Lenexa and went into the gym and was told because this is an upgraded gym I have to pay extra to get in. So not only did my membership already go up $10 a month when I made the switch, but they wanted even more money for another location. This company is money hungry company that does not care about the happiness of their customers. I would never recommend going to this corporate gym. I hate Planet Fitness and I would rather go there.

Brittany Kallenberger

I like the indoor track so i can do my sprint workouts and also the wide variety of classes offered. Allows for many options. The cleanliness of the gym is refreshing also. Another plus is the amount of squat racks available, there is normally little to no wait.

Aileen Gregg

Very high quality equipment and facilities and bathrooms very clean

Brittney Ristau

Great location, friendly/helpful staff. Nice prices on memberships/classes. I do like that they have a daycare and spa provided as well as a little cafe.

Erin Chambers

Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a wide variety of classes to choose from. The facility is nice. It's great that you are able to go to any club with your membership.

Melinda Emig

Seriously this is first class club. I have been in 56 countries, worked out at hundreds of fitness clubs, and Genesis Ridgeview is the best. Steve Fitzwater has helped me on numerous occasions (home workout equipment for my teenage son, tips on equipment, etc.). He is over the top friendly, professional and helpful. The club is always clean, personnel are friendly and attentive, food is reasonably priced, facility has every amenity you could want, and well stocked with towels, fans, etc. When I asked if I could move a floor fan closer to me, they moved it for me. The gym has an indoor track, Olympia lap pool and small lap pool, plus outdoor pool with patio, very nice too, sand volleyball too, weights on one level and upper level machine top level punching bag and TRX training basketball court, handball courts, yoga, free towels, fireplace, massage room and much more. The cafe is great...I was shocked to see the review about standing in line for 10-15 minutes and no one behind the counter acknowledging her from Melissa G. My son and I order protein shakes and food here frequently and have never had to wait. The Customer Service is great and they are so friendly to my 14 year old son, always engaging him in conversation. Looks like the negative reviews are mostly from people who joined when it was privately held. There were bitter feelings about the buy out. That is all I can think of to rationalize the negativity. If you are thinking about joining...join! Great club!

Lisa Huddleston

This gym is terrible. Not only did they scam my son when he worked there by stealing his personally engraved fossil watch I (his mother)gave him but tried to charge him extra when cancelling his membership. They tried to say he just moved his membership. I was the one paying for the Cancellation and was on the phone with the Genesis guy. Luckily the lady at their corporate office was amazing and took care if the Cancellation issue. But that location needs a new manager and new employees. Stealing items and money is unacceptable.

Austin Gerdes

Very friendly place that doesn’t judge you by your past. A ton of motivated trainers that will help you achiever your goals. I have found this gym to relieve a ton of stess from the day, not only by the amount of top of the line gym equipment that allows me to push myself to the limit, but also the friendly staff and fellow customers make this a family friendly environment. If you’re looking to meet your fitness goals or just meet some new friends, this is the gym for you.

Chris McEleny

This Genesis location is the absolute best! The equipment is plentiful and spaced evenly throughout the club. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. They have a plethora of classes available and an amazing spa. The best part, however,is the kids center. I can enjoy the club amenities knowing that my Son is having fun playing in a safe environment with a wonderful staff!

I love Sarah and the warm water pool. She is a great teacher and a teacher who will help you if you have any problems. The water is some times too cold but I think it’s good.

This place is pretty awesome. If you aren't into contracts, Genesis isn't for you but if you don't mind a contract to save some money, this facility is easily one of the best in KC. It has everything that the much more expensive Lifetime has, it absolutely beautiful with plenty of space and even during a lunch hour has enough equipment. It is the top Genesis I have been to for sure.

Jarred Mosher

Some of the machines and such are broken, but good gym and atmosphere

Briana Kemple

Big and beautiful gym. Didn't care to pay the $15 a day for a visit, or that there seems to only be one bathroom way in the back hall of the entrance, or that when my sweetheart got a smoothie from the health cafe the protein powder wasn't mixed in well at all.. But it was big, The floor plan was well planned with many machines, space, friendly people, a track, a boxing area, etc.. I'd go back, but I'd get the week pass for $30.. Cause that makes sense...

I love Genesis! They always have the nicest staff to help you when you need it and the all of the equipment options are insane! 11/10 would recommend

The entry to the parking lot is a great precursor to a workout. you turn into the parking lot completely blind to potential exiting vehicles. For a moment you don't know if you are going to live or die. However, that adrenaline rush can carry over to a great workout. #notdeadyet

Great gym, but kind of pricey. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the trainers are great. They just get you with the 3 year long contract.

Ron Pena

We joined a month ago and we love it. It's an exceptional facility that is very well maintained. Everyone is super friendly and very helpful. We work with a great trainer, Lauren, and have also been participating in the many Spinning classes. We love it.

This review is for their childcare facility. The manager of it is very nice and has a good head on her shoulders, but the facility is severely lacking. None of the bouncers/swings work in the infant room. They all have to be pushed by hand. The policy of no diaper changes by staff is insane. Your child could be sitting in a dirty diaper for who knows how long before you're contacted. As for the older children, you need to open up the kid's gym for them to use. The play area that you have is not sufficient. There needs to be structured activities that are educational/interactive, music playing, basketball, etc. Having staff stand around watching kids play in a Mcdonalds play area kind of room isn't good enough.

KC Wildcat

1. Lots of very bad odors throughout 2. Staff will not correct/respond to complaints regarding faulty equipment (which causes injury) 3. The fire alarm goes off periodically, causing an evacuation in the freezing cold until the fire department can clear it (has happened 3 times to me personally) These are just a few of the glaring issues. Gym has many pros, lots of potential, been a member for years but considering leaving.

not so normal everyday life l

Genesis on Ridgeview is the best! Wonderful people who work there are always helpful, my kids love all the activities in the kids room! The outdoor pool is fantastic in the summer, good equipment and the classes are great!

Andrew Ball

Poor billing practices, rude staff, 100% worth the $200 cancellation, fee to get these savages out of my life.

Patricia RASPAUD

Very good place and friendly people. Very good different lessons. I appreciate to go regularly. Patricia

Best accommodations at a gym I've ever seen!

D Burnett

Nice, full service gym. Family oriented, day care, kids' programs. It is spread out nicely. The only thing that is a negative is that parents forget to remind their kids to use their indoor voices. This is especially disconcerting at the indoor pools and shower room as the sound reverberates and bounces around. Though the kids are there to expend energy and have fun, others are there to get in their workouts. Ear plugs are recommended!

Having so much fun getting fit at Genesis! Love the yoga classes, new weights, and the one on one with my super knowledgeable trainer. The club is nice, the area is convenient and the people are friendly. Great investment in me!!!

My entire family have been member's of the Genesis gym family for over 9 years. When I signed my family up for our membership there was no such thing as a PREMIER member. I generally go to the same Genesis gym however on occasion I might go to a different location if my day takes me closer to a different gym. When I signed up I was told I could go to any of the Genesis gyms. I've never had an issue enjoying my membership at various locations across the Midwest until today. When I was attempting to check in at this location I was advised that this was a PREMIER MEMBER GYM and that I would have to pay $5.00 to gain access. I was never informed that the ground rules had changed since I signed up Initially. $5.00 isn't the issue however I didn't feel like I was welcomed and felt like I was being treated as a second class member. I left this location and drove over 45 minutes to my regular gym where I was greeted with a smile. I strongly suggest that Genesis management starts informing their member's of the 2 tiered system that has been implemented within the past 8 years. I also checked the website of this location and there's no such mention of PREMIER GYM. As a member I should have been allowed access and informed about the policy change without the Embarrassment of being rejected at the front desk. Management should also consider grandfathering those who have been long term members before the new policy changes. Once again I've never had an issue before today but then again it was my first and last visit to this location. This area of Kansas city has a reputation for this type of elitism attitude. If I was a person of color I would've felt as if I was being Discriminated against.

Best gym bar none. Love it. Do note, this is a premium membership. Parking could be better...

Genesis Ridgeview is by far the best gym in Johnson County. The weight area is absolutely huge and Genesis has done a great job of improving the place by adding new cardio machines and weights since they bought the place. Also, it is great to have a full size locker that already has it’s own lock instead of a small locker like other places. The other great thing is this is a family friendly gym. My kids absolutely love going with us because it has one of the best play areas for kids while you work out. In fact, my kids beg me to go to the gym on the weekend so they can play. I will definitely recommend Genesis Ridgeview to anyone looking for a gym.

This location is amazing. The day care is great. Very friendly staff and even other members are super helpfull. I will never leave. Best experience ive had where i can workout and relax and know that my son is well cared for.

Jillian McCollam

This gym has every amenity you'd need. Staff is always pleasant and surroundings are kept clean. I like that they give towels so I never have to remember to bring one

Karen Dawkins

LOVE the choice I made in picking a gym home! Variety of classes to keep things FUN while getting FIT! Appreciative of the towel service, trainers (Kellon ROCKS!!!), facility cleanliness and layout, and overall pretty freakin awesome staff!

Ruthann Airy

Ruthann Airy 3 reviews in the last week Was sad to see Healthridge get bought out by a bigger company. Thankfully, it was a good thing. New equipment upgrades among other changes for the better. This is a beautiful facility with all the amenities you need!!! Staff and instructors are amazing as well.

Chris Umscheid

Really enjoy working out here. Has all the amenities you could ask for as well as decent equipment. MOST of the staff is super friendly and helpful.

Vanessa Shipman

Always clean and very helpful staff.

Cherryl Cox

I was not impressed with the cleanliness. All of the pool needs scrubbed and the lockers in the locker room are covered with dust. The equipment worked well but I didn't see many people wiping down the station after use.

Ben Keefe

I am a runner. I come over during my lunch hour to get in a run. There are a ton of treadmills and I can always find one that is open. I connect to the wifi and watch a show while I am running. The locker facility is nice and clean. If they are out of towels, there are always more just outside the locker room. The sauna and steam room are both very hot and kept clean as well. The showers are spacious and have soap, shampoo and conditioner. I signed a contract and it was explained to me in a very logical and professional manner. I find no reasons to take away any stars from my review.

Scott Fieker

Steve and Chris have been helpful and motivating. I am not having fun yet but am working on strengthening my core and trying new things. I'm a little intimidated by the group classes but am willing to give it a go. Facility is clean and inviting. I have had no trouble finding open circuits.
