Honest Lion

Lifetime fitness is nice but expensive. Free weight area can be bigger they only have one incline bench press and lack some other free weight machines. 120 bucks for membership and 80 bucks a month is expensive just for weights n cardio. Staff is nice n friendly even during cancellation process.

Jordan Albaugh

After 35 years at Oakmoor Raquetball they closed and I searched for a replacement, this is the hands down the best club in town. There hours are 4am to 12 pm 7 days a week and everyone employee will greet you and stop and help when needed. If a Health club is important to you, you owe it to yourself to call Scott J. and book a visit , its amazing .

Nick Reed

This place is huge. They've got an indoor and outdoor pool, with lapswimming lanes in both. Dedicated deadlift and squat racks, and tennis courts. Pretty much what you'd expect at other Lifetime locations.

Kawaii Narwhal

They won't let you go to their expensive tennis lessons without a 18yrold babysitter which I think is total baloney because 16yrolds can DRIVE and you can't get in by yourself without being twelve all around terrible rules for their EXPENSIVE service

Michael Coyle

I was planning on joining. Took the tour, the visit, got the price, was ready to spend the day there, and commit after the day. Sales manager Scott, said $35 to use pool, though it says free for guests who take tour. I will join the Y for the same cost. Made me feel like a street urchin.

Tom Terrific

overpriced, unethical billing practices, staff that does not follow through on what they said they would do. other gyms just as good for half the price.

The Girl With ADHD

Great clean friendly facility. You get what you pay for, and the facility is VERY nice. We LOVE the Kids Academy. Its pretty much the reason we joined, because we don't feel like we are dropping the kids off at just a random "daycare" ... They have fun activities planned for the kids and it is very clean and comfortable. Yes, you pay for kids to be members, BUT they can get a lot out of the membership too with classes and the indoor outdoor pool! Plus after 4 family members the 5th is free... So it pays to be a big family or a family with a nanny and more than 2 kids.

Very nice and clean place

Brian Farrell

The best in Michigan!

Todd Shaw

Overpriced and overpopulated. Elbow to elbow in the locker room. Gross!

Keshav Reddy

It's an overall clean place to workout at, this really should be the standard for commercial gyms. Not really crowded so you can get your workout done in smaller amount of time cause someone won't take your machine. Classy staff and classy crowd, the circus training exercises might be cringe, but hey I can't complain.

Levi Limmex

Please keep in mind when starting a membership at lifetime that you will need to cancel your membership 30 days prior to not using the facilities anymore. This includes any situation you can possibly think of. Staff will not work with you on this issue so if a move to a location where there is not a lifetime conveniently located (basically everywhere else) is possible in your future, this will not be the gym for you.

Randall Lynch

Employees are courteous & knowledgeable, Trainers are very helpful, the facility is kept very clean and the Kids Academy is an excellent program.

Aaron

Very Pricey for most (single membership is around 90-100/month). You pay for what you get though. Everything in this place is top of the line. Multiple pools (indoor and out). Private showers, soap, lockers. Lots of personal trainers (not included in membership dues and pricey as well)

By far the best Life Time in Michigan. I have been to everyone in Michigan, and I can say this one is the best. It doesn't have an outdoor pool or a basketball court, but with your diamond membership you can access and nearby club that does. That makes this location a lot better because there are not kids running around all over the place, except for the daycare which is not a problem. The locker rooms are great from the regular locker room. They have full sized lockers, big showers that have actual shampoo and body-wash, not some all in one foam stuff. Also there is a sauna, steam room, and a hot tub inside both locker rooms. Overall, a great luxury gym. It is way better than Equinox just a mile or so away, and better than any Life Time. If you live nearby and can afford coming here, it definitley worth it to get access to this club and all other lifetime clubs, instead of joining Equinox and getting access to one club in the entire state.

I was a member for two months then I bought a home on the south side. I sent a letter and my membership card to Lifetime in late February asking that they not charge my account for March. I explained that it is too far to drive and I wanted my membership canceled. I received an email thanking me and telling me that my membership had been canceled. That came before March 1. A few weeks later, I received an email from them telling me I owe them for March, 2015. The email threatened further action". See below. "Please call me as soon as possible before further action is taken towards your account. Laura Lee Member Experience Specialist" When you join these gyms and clubs, make sure you ask them - if I decide to end my membership, what are the rules? I called my credit card company and told them to put a block on any charges from Lifetime. This is a nice gym. Lots of equipment. My problem was that I had moved so far from the gym to continue to belong. I should not be receiving emails telling me I owe them after they told me they cancelled my account. They practically threatened to sue me over $90. I have since joined Aspen. $10 per month. The weights are the same. A treadmill is a treadmill. Friendly staff. Nobody threatening to sue me. Is it a "high-end" place like Life Time? No. It's a gym. You go and work out. It's about working out; getting in shape and staying in shape. Why do people think you need to pay $90 per month? Vanity?

Expensive. Crowded. Deceptive billing practices. Better, cheaper gyms elsewhere with more friendly, less Stepford-wives clientelle.

Tanika Sterling

Very nice facility, but the staff is not that friendly. You pay a ton of money every month to be a member but they hold classes at peak times making equipment unavailable for use. I feel as a big as this facility is they should have designated rooms for these classes.

Eric Duncan

Great gym, awesome activity center for kids

Iowa Sheds

This gym is supreme! It beats the HUGE lifetime fitness in Ahwatukee Arizona! Scott was the guy who showed us around. He's a fantastic guy and sold us right away. His casual attitude put as at ease and his knowledge of the gym sold us easily. PARENTS OF YOUNG KIDS: This place has so many amenities and we've seen them during camp...simply jaw dropping great work! For now, this is a strong 5 star rating.

James Vannordstrand

Pros: - Clean - New equipment - Nice Staff Cons: - Can be VERY busy - Kids everywhere - Cancellation Policy Policy: requires a 30 days notice. I would recommend cancelling your credit card because they have quite the record for charging people after they have stopped going. For some reason you cannot cancel over the phone or email. This is the most annoying thing ever.

Wilhelmus VanderKallen

Best Health club EVER!!

Nataliya Khashimova

I have been with Life time since December. The Gym is like a Chuck E. Cheese for adults. BUT the customer service is THE WORST in the Des Moines area. Employees are rude, pushy, and there is absolutely no respect for people. Even when you sign up for the membership they are rude to you like you owe them to sign up there. Besides the wonderful people that service the changing rooms by bringing towels and helping with lockers you wont find a descent person to help you. I got a call that my payment didn't not go through because they think I have changed my banks, I have been wondering the same thing to why they still haven't pulled out money out of my account. I have had the same bank account since 2002 and I have money on my account AND they have a second card ON FILE which is a credit card. The "amazing" lady that called me hanged up on me. Please let me not forget that they violated my privacy by leaving messages on my friends phone about my personal information. Employees of LIfe Time Fitness need to learn how to respect people regardless of their social standing or if they are a woman. I'm not the only member of life fitness that feels this way I am sure.

MIke M

This lifetime is geared more for people who want better service and less kids around. I enjoy the upscale experience.

New review Lifetime was bought out by an equity firm that likes to make companies more profitable and then sell them. Consequently, a lot of things have changed for the better and I need to update my review. This is arguably the nicest as well as the most expensive gym in the area. One of the largest selling features is the child care, so if you have kids you’ll want to give them a call to get more details on it. The daycare does not have a hand washing policy so your kids will get sick about as often as if they went to a daycare without a handwashing policy. The equipment is generally nice, kept very clean and the maintenance is ideal. The pull up bars are horrible, and the barbells aren't high end but they're good enough. Waiting times are normally short but do happen at peak hours, starting around 5:00am until about 1:00 and picking back up just after 3:00 until 8-9:00. There is a plethora of activities you can do here from yoga/ pilates/ swimming/ running group/ group fitness to olympic lifting, (more not listed) The food is okay, it's lunch items and a few breakfast items. The spa area is nice, the message I got was one of the better ones I’ve had, I’d consider going to the message area if I wasn’t a member. The (mens) hair cut I got was good but I've had better. Again one of the main benefits is using the daycare while having your hair cut. In general, the trainers are very nice, most are quite friendly. The rest of the staff is quite friendly as well. Some are not and the few can be a pain to deal with on a daily basis. I've had trainers, take over equipment I was using in the middle of a work out (not reserved mind you). Tell me not to drop weights (which is permitted). Put their clipboards or water bottles on equipment I'm using. Walk directly into my way as I'm doing a work out despite more than enough room. Step multiple times on my personal jump rope when they wanted an area I was in. There's more but I've made my point, if you're using the squat racks you're in for a nuisance. The cost is substantially higher than golds or even prairie, so you'll have to be going for a particular feature like the child classes for it to be worthwhile for you.

Awesome health club with a ton of equipment. I wish that the indoor pool was bigger. Its a luxury health club, everything in the facility is very very nice. The only thing with such a luxury health club, comes a gouge in your wallet.

Aaron S

If you need to cancel your membership, as in my situation relocating to another state, you either must a) stop in to cancel or b) send a certified letter to cancel. If I ever am transferred back to Des Moines, I am NOT coming back to Lifetime. Their policies are put in place to make canceling a pain in the ass. On top of that, while a member I would get a call every two months inviting me out to the club despite the fact that I had been a member for over six months.

Kate Foster

Danielle Breon

It is way too expensive for what the offer. The YMCA is cheaper plus the PT are cheaper and a bit more rigorous with their workout, plus they don't make you feel pressured to sign right away. I felt pressured way too much at LT to sign a contract with a PT that I did not even want. Not to mention you have to give a 30 day notice? A tad bit too much, it isn't a rental property!

Curtis Summers

Always great staff and great equipment. Always a clean and comfortable atmosphere. Alot of great opportunities to try new things while building and adding to my own routine. The staff make you feel welcome and are willing to help along the journey of self improvement.

Conrad

Richard Crouse

It is a great gym. The problem is the customer service that makes this a place to avoid. Today an individual went there for a 6:00 tour. Being scheduled ahead of time should ensure someone will be there. Nope. Waited 45 minutes and nobody would help.

MJ Yo

James Siegle

Best gym membership I've ever had

Miss Faith

Always have a pleasant experience at this location!

TJ Tollakson

This is the best gym in the Des Moines area. Expensive but the best.

Chase Sarhan

Was a member at the commerce mi lifetime before hand paying 80 dollars a month. I myself live in bloomfield hills right down the street from this one so paying up for the shorter commute was very enticing. I stopped working out, out of pure laziness and just the fact that i honestly didnt feel like driving 20 minutes to commerce haha. So one day i went in and upgraded fearing that I would get out of shape. The staff is friendly and well worth paying the extra 70 bucks a month. The faculty is unreal and its just so much cleaner than any other gym. I highly reccomend joining especially if the commute to the gym is one of your issues.

Rabbik Ahmed

Nice staff

terry ward

Probably the worst customer experience I have had in a long time. Canceled a month ago and was still charged. I had to go in again and the rep said since they don't have any proof that I cancelled they can't do anything and I just have to cancel again. They up charge for pretty much everything on top of an already really high monthly fee. Not worth it. To try this out was the worst decision I have ever made. Don't make the same mistake.

Been a member since 2014. Very expensive, but very nice especially for kids/families.

Used to love this place until I signed up for a personal trainer in the Shelby Location. He pushed me beyond my limit and I couldn't even walk the next day because my muscles were so torn! I would expect a trainer to know more about fitness than to push someone beyond their limit day 1. Waste of money! Overall loved the gym

Don't bother if you're from out of town. No free trials, $40/day to use the weight room or $145 monthly membership. I'm here for two weeks and just looking to lift some weights somewhere close by.

Cara Collins

I joined in June of this year and had a first bad experience. So I never went once. Then when I went in October to finally close my membership that I was paying $231 monthly I had a totally different experience. Margie Jones took me to her office and was kind and genuinely cared about my first impression. She went above and beyond any customer service I’ve ever experienced. After the time she spent with me I unexpectedly changed my mind to stay. If you decide to join or have issues ask for Margie. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Katie Hall

Seriously, STOP CALLING ME. I have returned 2 calls and requested that they stop calling-- the guy at the front desk laughed when I said "it's at the point, where I'm being harassed because I'm getting so many calls." THE TEAM THERE IS ABSOLUTELY RELENTLESS-- TAKE ME OFF THE CALL LIST, JARED. I LEFT BOTH YOU AND SCOTT MESSAGES TO STOP CALLING, MAYBE NOW YOU'LL LISTEN?

Irida Merpeza

The Perfect gym! It has a great combination of different types of classes and equipments offered upstairs. Very clean, just love it!

Blake Bruene

Great trainers and the best of the best facilities/equipment. Worth every penny.

Alex Yang

Inside is very nice. They do not allow use of chalk which can make things a bit hard.

Amir Uddin

Amanda Godfrey

This place is a saving grace for Mom's! The child care center is absolutely amazing. Being able to take 3 hours to workout, soak in the hot tub, swim, shower, AND get ready is worth every penny. Parents night out... best concept when you don't know babysitters around town. The main reason I come here, my children LOVE this place. From YOGA, Ninja classes, Arts, all 3 have an activity! I've talked with so many new people, usually a gym is for working out, but a social environment is also a plus! Excited for the pool this summer. Oh and Nathan at the SPA did an A+ massage. I injured my hip running and was able to get relaxation and flexibility back. The lifecafe is delicious. I drive close to 45 minutes to get here. Ankeny location in the works!???

Kayte Parish

Worst experience....This Life Time cares more about money than their members and employees. Won’t be coming back, indefinitely.

Princeofpeace

Enjoyed this location for a visit. Members at this gym seem much higher profile than other gyms around.

Melody Nimmo

ruby shanker

Love the place!! The only bad thing probably i can think of about this gym is that one cannot use all the facilities they provide :D

Tyler Mull

Chelsea Rager

I look forward to going here each time. Privacy is a top priority for me when choosing a gym and that standard had not been fulfilled until now. People who have experience with fitness facilities might know that a lot of people can lack a respect of boundaries by staring too long. The members at this location dont have that issue. It allows me to enjoy what I come here to do.

Kelsey Acheson

Love this gym. Great equipment & atmosphere and everyone is always willing to help and/or give you a big smile. Forgot my headphones once and one of the managers loaned me his wireless beats for my workout!

Francisco Hernandez

Worst customer service ever. Their staff is rude and pushy and there aren't enough equipments open for all to use during certain hours. I would not recommend this to others. Reminds of that movie Dodge Ball where the big gym fights the little one. Stick with your local gym.

Michael Place

Top class facility, though expensive without family membership options.

The Armin

Expensive but worth every penny.

Drew Verlee

It's irresponsible in 2018 to not have a way for the customer to cancel there subscription at their convenience online. Making me show up in person or send a letter are tactics to delay cancellation. Edit: ironically the company called me to tell me that calling them isn't an acceptable way to cancel. The facility and staff at this location are fantastic and my complaints are with the Corporation.

Erie Skoczylas

Pricey, but great place to work out. The locker rooms are clean and stocked. The staff is attentive and friendly. We go there for the kids programming. Our kids love going to Lifetime. They even have classes like yoga and sports for the kids included in the membership. The have frequent parents night out where you can leave your kids there and go out. The steam room, sauna, and hot tub in the locker rooms are great. They even have disposable razors ready for you to use.

Mimi K

AMAZING everything! Thank you guys for all that you do to ensure exceptional customer service!

Keith Walters

By far the best coach and most welcoming group of people. It doesn't matter how in shape you think you are or aren't, all are welcome!

david dikson

Great Place, Staff is great, love being there. So much to do

Amanda Secory

Christine Enright

Worth every penny. You really get so much for your membership, and as a result, this was the first gym I religiously attended. With the beautiful pool, large hot tubs, steam room, and sauna, going here felt more like a trip to a spa than a work-out at the gym. The facilities are modern and always clean, the exercise equipment is well-maintained and constantly being updated, but what really makes this Lifetime stand out to me is their friendly and eager-to-help staff. Everyone I've encountered, from the managers and member services employees, to the personal trainers, massage therapists, and front desk and Life Cafe staff, has been warm and pleasant. Because of this, Lifetime Bloomfield really stands out to me as a gym, and I can't see myself going anywhere else now.

Linda Lin

Top club!!! I enjoy the club so much, I go there every day when I am not traveling and I spend at least 2 to 3 hours there on each of my visits. The yoga program is amazing. There are 45 classes a week, so if you could not make it in the morning, you could take the afternoon or evening classes. The yoga studio is great. It's exclusively used for yoga classes only. It has high ceiling, nice hardwood floor, yoga mats & yoga blocks, etc. And the yoga teachers are the best!!! Nice indoor swimming pool. You would feel relaxed as soon as you walk into the pool area; the adequate space surrounding the pool, the water in the pool is very clean, the white towels are folded neatly and placed on the chairs and the shelves. In addition, the steam room, hot tub & sauna are all so good for relaxing your muscles after the workout. The locker rooms are always clean and neat. It makes you feel comfy and homy. And all the staff are so friendly, they are always so happy to see you, anywhere at the club. They make you feel you are very much wanted :) I can't comment on the workout machines and other classes (lots of them), because I don't do them, but I heard good comments from other club members. I just can not say enough good things about this club!!! It's classy, it's warm and nice and it's like my second home. I would highly recommend this club to anyone who wants to have fun and a healthy body and mind!!!

Jeff Mathias

This is the most amazing gym I have ever belonged to and I've been going to these places since 1980. A big advantage of life in the suburbs is these huge footprint facilities, just try finding something like this in LA or NYC, no way. Its so sprawling, I have several friends who are members but we rarely even bump into each other. I find the staff super professional, responsive, have never had any problems. They have several indoor and outdoor pools with multiple hot tubs, steam and sauna, spa, restaurant etc. They provide great towels and don't gripe when we actually use them. The only shortfall to me is the curious absence of an indoor running track, all of which stay busy all winter at the other gyms in the metro.

Souphin Moore

My family and I love this gym! Their kids academy is amazing and we mainly joined it this reason. Their classes is great, especially hot yoga. Facility is always nice, upscale, and clean. It's expensive but worth every penny. If you have kids, take a look at their kids activities. $30 a month per child for all those kids activities just makes most sense to join =)

Victor Santos

Good gym but their policies are SO money driven. They do not have the customer as their first priority, but profit. Two days ago I got kicked out of their inside pool with my baby because they don't want to keep it open during the summer so as not to spend money.

karine dufu

Kyle Shimp

Overcrowded and overpriced. Literally said "We keep the riff raff out that way." Multiple times I've gone and their classes were reserving most of the equipment during rush hours, not even using them.

Donald Crow

I'm a truck driver. And I definitely make my rounds to all of the lifetimes. I didn't even know about lifetime until I started driving over the road. Now I can't live without it. I been to most of the lifetimes. From Denver to Memphis.. And all in between. And I can say, I love this lifetime the best. I love the people here. I talked to a trainer named Shelby last night. Such and honest and genuine person. Thanks lifetime for accepting me as guest and for always being the best.

Reggie Hammond

This is certainly not your average gym. While there are plenty of group and individual fitness opportunities, there is also a resort-like quality to the Lifetime experience. Indoor and outdoor pools, steam rooms, multiple hot tubs, indoor and poolside cafes, spa and salon, and amazing locker rooms. What sealed the deal for my family was the Kids Academy that features plenty of fun activities and games to occupy the children. Meanwhile parents are free to work out or even run errands off premises for up to three hours a day. This is a gym membership that I actually use whether I'm being a lazy bum or a fitness buff.

Arthur Bennett

Staff is extremely friendly and always ready to help in any way they can. The classes are a great size and are extremely comfortable for all levels.

Not only do the employees make this gym but the members do as well. Long gone are those days where I search for the utopia-like environment where everyone is happy, respectful and decent human beings all around. I found it at Life Time Athletic Des Moines (although this one is just outside in Urbandale. This is an onyx club so the monthly fee bangs against the $100 mark. It's a small pittance if you ask me. Also, for the ones that complain about the month fee: Imagine the kinds (and numbers) of people that you'd see in here if the fee were "more reasonable". Equipment is the typical onyx club trappings: Technogym, Life Fitness and so on. If you know Life Time, then there's no need to go into too much detail about the club. Just one word of warning: If you use the free training session you get with your new membership, use it with great caution. The session will be 50% hard sales tactics as well as a pity party projected onto you by the training staff as to why you MUST buy a 10-100 pack of sessions. They will say this to anyone, from the miserably unfit to the hyper fit. Also, from reading the reviews, there seems to be some disturbing trends with sales staff calling people late at night (probably in desperation towards the end of the month) and of the accounting staff calling friends of members to alert them to past due balances on accounts. Unfortunately, I believe these people as Life Time oftentimes hires cheap workers that are all too often not well educated. Afterall, an educated person would work at a job where they aren't part of a quasi-pyramid scheme (Life Time's commission schedule) and dont have to put up with wage theft!

P. Sterrett

Oh my god, seriously. The jeans at this place are so high and tight. They have plenty of BIKES! The wipe-down area was well stocked with Clorox wipes. Top Dog and Charo recommended this gym. I now concur. Get yo life.

Mercedes Larsen

Overall I liked the gym but it’s not worth the price and when I went into the facility to cancel I signed on there computer and was told it was cancelled and my next monthly due would be prorated since I have to give a 30 day notice which is fine. When the monthly due came out of my account it was for the full month and when I called to get it fixed they had no record that I came in and cancelled. They spend a whole 5 min looking into it to tell me they can’t find where I had cancelled and that I could come in again to cancel it again.. there fee is to expensive for them to make this kind of mistake... so now I have to pay another 100+ dollars for a gym membership I won’t be using waste of money terrible service..

Robert Klein

Great experience every time.. being a senior it’s hard to find a good place to exercise but this has been great for me

Kenzie Schodowski

I really don’t go here as often as I should. Honestly, I think I’m just paying for their heat bill at this point but whenever I do make my way into the gym I’m obsessed! This location is pretty pricey but it’s SO worth it with all the awesome services provided. My favs include the amazing eucalyptus steam room, swimming pool and Life Time Salon/Spa :) I’ve had a facial here before and it was absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to go back and “work out” :p

Been a member sense this location opened... it kinda went down hill. 159.00 monthly fee it should close to heaven.

The facilities are excellent and I really do feel that for the exorbitant membership lifetime charges, it delivers. Plus..the trainers are hotttt

The best club in Des Moines and probably Iowa for that matter! They are always updating equipment, cleaning the club, hiring great instructors and running an overall excellent operation. If you're considering changing clubs, I would definitely give these guys a look.

One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with, billing and membership was a nightmare from day one, overcharged on 3 different occasions in the first 6 months. My wife left after she was double charged 2 times in a row.

It's an amazing clean place very well staffed

Being in the rd 3 days a week you see a lot of gyms. This is the nicest i have ever seen. Only downside is the day pass is expensive

Great amazing place to work out, very professional and new up to date equipment. Many features to offer. This is an extremely Exclusive club not like the other Life Time Fitness' even though those are nice also.

Doesn't like to help the community at all had to get my sister car out the impound 4 times because the school lot not big enough and this lot across the street always half empty the manager lady is extremely rude and throws stuff at your car for parking in her lot wouldnt want to support this establishment even if its the last gym in country

There is Lifetime fitness, and then there is lifetime athletic. If you think it cant get any better, athletic has 3 levels of greatness rather than the 2 levels that all the other lifetime have. Staff are amazing, children never want to leave the childcare.

Justus Thompson

They have deceitful billing practices

Donna Coker

The negative reviews alone, regarding the customer service, prices and lack of a secure way to cancel out if you no longer want to pay their astronomical fees is a big turn off to me.

Pros Staff is well trained and certified Love that the front desk is always dressed up No need for padlock Love the cafe Love the lifespa Very beautiful Heated pool Free towels to borrow Has hairdryers in locker room Lots of extras Outdoor pool with bar Sauna Women/men only sauna and hot tub Family locker rooms Elevator Lots of equipment Kids area Lots of classes included Great trainers Healthy food options Changing rooms Shampoo/conditioner Constantly cleaned Love cafe samples and random discounts Neutral Lifespa always says if you bring someone that they get to use the gym for 24 hours... but front desk never seems to be aware of this. Wish you could call/app order from cafe Cons High staff turnover Too expensive High sign up fee Expensive to pause Site could be better Newsletter never has anything worth while Parking lot is always packed No new/expecting mother’s parking Poorly plowed in winter Wish family locker room was more strictly recommended or enforced for kids of opposite sex Everything is expensive Weird that some classes are held outdoors behind the facility Classes and trainers always seem to take over the prime equipment Cancellation policy requires you to stop in Awkward walking past the sales people standing around

This review really has nothing to do with the facility but my experience just researching the gym. I was mainly just curious about the price and wanted an email about rates. I was then emailed several times by several people trying to get me to join. After emailing telling them that I am staying with my current gym I was then harassed by phone with calls at unprofessional times including one at 11pm on a weekday and 8pm on a Sunday. Even if this gym was reasonably priced, which it is not, and it is very nice, I would NEVER join here because of their harassment! They obviously do not care about their members, only about their money they make. If you do not care about things like that then maybe its the gym for you.

This is the nicest gym that I've been too, and is even a step above the other lifetime locations. Everything is always clean, the towels are always stocked, and the locker rooms are set up perfectly with everything you could need. The biggest issue is all the old men that like to strut their stuff in the locker room with towel in hand. Their also aren't really any plate loaded pressing machines, which is a bit disappointing because other lifetime location do have these machines. The minor complaints aren't enough to keep me from leaving a 5-star review though.

There really isn't anywhere that compares to this LT for cleanliness, maintenance on equipment and facilities, and sheer size/scope/breadth of offerings. It is pricier than the other premium fitness facilities in the area, but it's more than worth it. A big asset is the huge number of group-fitness classes that are included with the membership; these are taught by professionals, they're held frequently throughout the week, day and evening, and they're invaluable in the event that you want to go work out but you don't have a specific routine in mind. I only have one suggestion for the staff/management here: put a sign or placard up in the steam room telling people *not* to pour cold water or hang cold washcloths over the sensor. I have a feeling a number of the individuals who do it only do it because they don't know that it can burn out the sensor/screw with the mechanics of the setup/overheat the room. The individuals who do this make use of the room uncomfortable for everyone else.

Read the fine print in your contract. 30 days written notice to cancel your policy. What's that? They didn't receive your letter? Better send it certified...you just got bilked out of two additional months.

Great group of motivating inspiring trainers. Great workouts which help you to achieve great results.

No respect for members who aren’t in a class. I was thrown off equipment in the middle of my workout today because it was needed for a class that was not publicly posted. I was just told they needed to rack and I had to move. I’m extremely disappointed in the customer service. No reason to join if you want to workout, since you will not be allowed to use the equipment.

We LOVE Lifetime!! Their group fitness classes are great! The instructors are all so friendly and take the time to plan a great workout for all! The facility is always so clean too!

Deceitful billing practices. When I signed up a few years ago for what I was told was a "VIP" membership, the sales rep guaranteed me my monthly fees would "never" go up - that I would permanently be locked in to the initial $70 + "extra fees" rate. Since then my monthly fees have gone up three times. When I presented my issue to the customer service desk, they told me "that was a different management team that are no longer here at the club". Shameful - total lack of integrity.

Best damn gym in the midwest period.

Best lifetime I've been too. It is pricey but you pay for what you get. The crowd is classy and equipment is clean.

Had very bad experience with LifeSpa, uncooperative staff, problems using lifeTime bucks (used them for two massages, got appointments almost 2 months in advance, staff didn´t let me know that lifeTime- Bucks would be expired when having appointment, ended up paying way too much for a massage. Definitely won´t recommend it!

I have been a member at many different gyms and this is both the nicest and most expensive. The equipment and facilities are always clean and in good working order. The staff are always upbeat and friendly, which makes for a very welcoming environment. The excellent facilities, equipment, and staff make it so I enjoy my time working out here, which makes it easier to stay on track with my fitness plans.

In the process of recovering from shoulder surgery and decided to do some shopping around at some other gyms just out of curiosity. I've been a member at lifetime for over a year now and while I have been overall satisfied with my experience there are some things I noticed while doing my comparison shopping. Strip away all the amenities that they have and look at the basics. Look at the weights, benches, equipment, squat racks, and cardio equipment they have. In comparison to Golds, Aspen (hickman location), and even Prairie Life Fitness they actually have the same or in most cases less than all the other gyms. I've actually found that Aspen, and Golds have a better variety of equipment. If you have the money and plan on using all the amenities of Lifetime then by all means you'll be happy but if you're just wanting to go here to lift weights do some carido look somewhere else the money isn't worth it. The only reason I'm not rating this place lower than a 3 is because in my experience they have good service and the staff are actually pretty knowledgeable.

This gym is the BANG for your buck! High end equipment, well qualified staff, and just overall and around, 5 stars service and expectation. Lots of space, and lots of equipment - love it! :)

I have been a member of lifetime for 6 months now. I mostly train with weightlifting and it's never so busy I have to wait around. Staff members are young their like anyone else good days maybe a bad day. I tell you this for certain. I enjoy the staff, Friendly and educated. The gym is worth the money in so many ways. I would say the only sub par is the pool for small kids. I would highly recommend this place. If your just a lazy non committed person that goes to the gym once a week don't wast your money.

My experience has been wonderful! It feels like you belong to an exclusive club, with great customer service. This gym never seems really crowded. I've never waited to use any of the machines. The Kids Academy is awesome. I also enjoy the accountability that I feel from the group instructors. It actually feels like they care about you being involved in the fitness classes and activities that they offer. I've been spoiled by Life Time Athletic in Bloomfield Hills, and it will be hard to go anywhere else to enjoy a workout and not look for the same standard of excellence.

I was so excited two years ago when I was one of the first members to sign up. The club has been nothing but a disappointment in practically every way. Every other Lifetime looks like a country club, and this Lifetime looks like a poorly designed prison, cut-up, small, clastrophobic, and each locker room choice is nonsensical. the showers are far away from the pool, the lights are blaring above the hot tub, the music is so inappropriate for a "high-end club experience," no chairs to get ready, and simply no room for peace. The staff is untrained. The changeover is constant. Locker room theft reported as inside job. And the little numbers for combinations are such a poor choice. The good: The lockers are full size and you get mouthwash.
