Here you will see the feddbacks of real people who know the products and services of Kid\'s Warrior Gym (Gym) near Iowa.
Nowadays this business gets a score of 3.8 stars over 5 and the score was based on 22 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings that it reaches is quite high, and it is founded on a large number of opinions, so we can conclude that the valuation is very credible. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to write scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Gym corresponds to the category of Gym.
The gym is super fun and good for a range of ages. Even adults would love it if they were allowed! The monthly membership is a good deal... something we'll probably take advantage of each winter. (Although I am irked that when I bought the membership, the manager told me it was truly unlimited - but sometimes when I come, they tell me we can only stay an hour. The employees are not all on the same page about it, nor do they seem to care.) BUT... The restrooms need to be cleaned more often. THE AIR FRESHENERS IN THE LOBBY ARE SO STRONG they give me a headache. I'd rather smell sweat than those nauseating and overpowering artificial scents. Bring your own water bottle because there is no water fountain. Bonus: I appreciate that there's a small play area for kids who are too young to go in the actual gym. The play area is in the lobby and has lots of foam blocks to build with and climb. There's no charge for that. There is a large window in the lobby looking into the gym so you can sit with your small children in the lobby and watch the big ones in the warrior gym.
Great avenue to get kids involved in physical activity. Upbeat music, clean venue, and lots of nice challenges for kids to test their skills out. This is awesome for kids, man to be young again! Friendly staff, and it seems prior reviews were simply 1 experience blown out of proportion, then piled on by 4 different people giving 1 star reviews. I highly recommend this place!
Gym is cool for the kids but the employees kind of suck. And the bathrooms are disgusting, like they've never been cleaned since they opened.
My grandkids loved it (they are 11, 10 and 10) The price was reasonable for an hour of fun. I appreciated that they have a seating area for parents to watch (can't really see much). It isnt a really big space so I hope as they get more popular they can expand.
Lots of great stuff for kids!
I read about there booking issues but understand things happen sometimes. However, figured they would have corrected the issue. Booked a party on July 22 for Aug. 28 at 4pm as that was a time the gym said it was available. They took my payment and sent me a confirmation of the time. Today 2 days before party we call to ask some general info.... They say sorry another party is booked at that time. Seriously.... How hard is it to book things based on availability. Guess the other party was booked first. Now we have to contact our son's friends.
Good place overall for kids. My kids just love variety of different things to do 10,7,5. Could use a pick me up on parent seating and aesthetics but overall fun. Would love to see a monthly membership for unlimited fun :) hour per day kind of thing.
Fun place, but from a mom perspective, it felt more like Lord of the Flies. There was a summer day camp group there and it was so busy. My boys were pushed, buried in foam blocks against their will, and other things. When they all left... it was awesome... but was of course right near the end of our time there too so they only had about 5 minutes without the other kids. I recommend calling ahead to see if any groups will be there during your planned time. My boys absolutely loved it. Something that would be nice would be to have a toddler zone in the waiting area. I had 2 younger kids with me that were bored to tears and desperately wanted to join their siblings.
Never going back again because I went with my daycare and we had 3 busses and we had to sit on the bus for 30 minutes, and we get there and they didn't save our party mark and every one was dying outside. And we had to go on the bus for another 30 mins.
This place is awesome! Wore my child out. Went for a birthday party. Highly recommend.
Great place for the kids to have fun for an hour.
This has to be the worst party experience I had. We celebrated my sons 7th birthday and weren’t given a timeline of how things would be handled. We didn’t get the pizza on time and were practically rushed out of the room when it was 8 pm. I understand that our booking was to end at 8pm but if the delay wasn’t due to our gym time. Then I would expect the employees to let us have more time in the party room. Also,I literally had to ask for more plates and forks because they had only provided about 7 plates. I paid for the golden package and it was not worth it. The pizza was from Pizza Hut and never got the drinks that are supposedly in the package. I wouldn’t recommend parties to be done here. Sadly. Wish it was better.
My sons had huge smiles on their faces today. Thanks guys!
Course was much too hard for a fairly strong 4 year old. Open play had zero instructions so not sure how all of the obstacles are supposed to go. Child had fun anyway on the 2 or 3 things she could do.
Business opened 10 min late. Not enough seating for parents. Lobby was a huge empty space.
Just a heads up, their classes are indefinite and there is 30 day cancellation policy so if you only want to do a month of classes, you basically have to cancel before even starting classes. You cancel by email or word of mouth(not mentioned anywhere on their website) but that was never explained to me until I realized I was going to be charged an extra month. It was also difficult to get someone on the phone to explain the sign up process. Do not recommend
Drove 25 mins across town for their posted open gym hours and the clerk at the desk couldn't decide if we could patronize the place or not. After being bullied by some rude birthday party mom (too many other kids playing in the gym?), the clerk told us to come back in 2 hours. Thanks but no thanks, I'll take my now crying kid somewhere else for the afternoom. Never again.
Lots of fun stuff for the kids to do and get rid of all that extra energy! I will definitely bring my daughter back here!!
Not sure who had more fun...the kids or adults.
We had a very sweaty 30min drive full with 3 bus loads of kids then waited out side for 20min and and was told no
My daughter did little sports here . she loved the gym
May want to update your listing to show your second location...
Pros: Gym area was great. Kids had a great time. Cons: Young male and female employees working at the front desk were more interested in their phones than greeting or helping customers. The employees need customer service training. Women's bathroom had garbage on the floor and men's bathroom had a lingering urine odor.
I hade a blast there the staff was so nice they Evan let me do two classes cause it was my first time there
Staffing issues, availability issues, communication issues, and the price is a joke. I understand trying to recoup your investment costs and making a profit.. But coupled with all the other issues.. Not worth your patronage
Really fun and interactive facility. My daughter is 5 and many of the activities she was unable to do unassisted because she wasn't big enough. Really cool concept though!
Great place! My kids love it and it's clean. Only downside is one room is always closed every time we go for a birthday party or daycare group.
My son had an excellent time running the courses. There are several elements which could potentially be dangerous and I was surprised not to see more staff around. The challenges and course looks like they are put together well however if your children are 7 and under I would recommend be close by to help, just in case.
Nice and new gym in town. But kids wait in long lines for their turns. So after the class, my kid didnt have much chances to moves or work out.
A little nervous when we were getting closer to our party date. Since it wasn't a birthday party but an awards ceremony I needed a specific schedule. I know they were willing to work with me, but had questions to confirm so I could confidently update the parents. A bit frustrated I did not get a return call, though I was told twice I would (hence only 4 stars). Never-the-less - we showed up and Taylor, Alexis and Max helped calm my anxieties and worked to make sure we were satisfied with our plans. Max was accommodating, took the time to apologize for the mis-communication and definitely did his best to fufill our expectations. The boys had a BLAST and the ceremony went smoothly. Thank you again to Max, Alexis and Taylor for your honestly and trying to make things right.
My daughter loves it here! Friendly staff - a nice variety of warrior gym obstacles and difficulty levels. I like that it challenges my 7 year old daughter and she has fun. I highly recommend trying it out. Reasonably priced.
So fun for kids!
Purchased Birthday package for my son. The “private host” was on his phone the entire time. The “private room” was a room of broken equipment. When I messaged management 2 times about my disappointment, I received no response.
Kids had a great time!
Fun place for kids, had a birthday party there and he loved it. They have open gym too.
Defiantly the place for kids to have a blast
My kids loved it!
Great place for the young kids to go Staff are very friendly and helpful . I would definitely recommend it .
Had a great birthday party for the granddaughter there.
Went earlier this summer and wasn't impressed due to lack of supervision and space. We were tired of being inside over winter break so we decided to give it another try last weekend. They've expanded which was nice but again, a full room with open gym and no employees supervising or teaching the kids how to use the coarse. It was mass chaos and flat out dangerous for smaller children. I felt inclined to write a review because I truly don't think kids under the age of 5 should be allowed in the open gym because of the dangers of some of the equipment (a see saw looking metal thing that a two year old got hit with as he was walking by for example) and they clearly don't monitor the number of kids allowed in at one time. There had to be 30+ kids some as young as 2 and while most parents were trying to help their young kids on the equipment that only congested the room more. I about had a heart attack when a 3 or 4 year old little girl was on the top of the platform waiting for the slide and an older boy ran past her nearly knocking her down, she would have fallen a good 8 feet had she gone down. I was not impressed and would have gotten a manager but the young gal at the counter was busy and of course I didn't see any other available staff, the only other staff member present was on the other side with a private party. It would be hard to give them a third chance after the madness I saw. If they can't properly staff the place they should probably limit the number of kids they take at once.
Awesome place for the wound up kids
Great place for kids to burn energy and work on balance. The teachers seem to really enjoy teaching the classes.
Awesome place took my kids (8&10) they had a fun time there favorite part was open course
Josh was amazing to work with, and my children had a blast!!
Great place to build some confidence and burn some cold weather blues
While the kids had a blast, I have given it 2 stars because, in my opinion, it is not parent friendly at all. I was there for my little nieces 5th birthday. First of all, when they were taken into the first room, my sister and I followed to watch the fun and take pictures. We were then told we couldn't stay in the room and had to leave. We could watch from the other room. We were told it would be to crowded which was ridiculous as there were only 10 kids in the whole huge room. So that was the first 45 minutes. Then into the next room where at least the parents could enter, separated from the kids by a railing. This room had several different groups in it and many many parents watching from the sides. Again, the kids had a blast but I would love to recommend that all three walls of this room might be filled with benches. I am a very active person, my job is actually fitness, but standing for this amount of time was not comfortable. Onto the pizza/ party room. Again, no chairs around for any adults. Luckily we had a couple of kids not show up so we were able to give a few chairs to those who needed them. It would have been a much nicer experience for the adults if we were able to interact with the kids more and if the was much more available seating in the areas. My oldest child is 30 and we have had so so many birthday parties everywhere and this is the first place where I felt like I wasn't part of the party. Like I said, the kids had a blast, which is the most important part but, they would have had a blast at pump it up, or defy gravity or skate land or chucky cheese, etc. All those places, and many more, allow the adults to be a part of the fun.
Love this place!! & the guy who runs it is great & awesome with kids!
Pretty expensive, staff is young and not overly helpful. Took 10 minutes to be acknowledged while 3 teenagers stood behind the counter having a talk about who didn't want to do what.
There was no visible staff in the play areas. Other than the lack of supervision, it was great.
I wasn’t impressed with the lack of staffing (honestly I wasn’t sure who the staff even were) or the fact there was nowhere to sit and visit while our kids played. After about 10 minutes they were ready to go anyways. I guess we showed up expecting a little more. I figured there would be a nice area for the parents to visit while the kids played and a snack bar, sadly this place is as basic as it gets. Spend your money getting a day pass at Mahoney State Park and take the kids to the Activity Center instead.
I just took my girls (5&7) here today. They had a great time! It's clean and had several obstacles to try. Two "coaches" walked around while the kids were enjoying open gym. We will totally come again. The price was great too!
I took a group of 10 kids here. Overall they had a pretty good time. What I learned from this experience and would like to pass on to a potential customer. Kid Appropriateness, Not for the tall child or probably over age 10 max 11. When, I say tall I mean pushing 5 foot, because many obstacles are getting close to just raising an arm up and there it is, they will not have fun. Age because of maturity and behavior, bigger kids get board and become trouble makers out of boardum like sitting around in a foam pit throwing foam blocks at kids they dont know (Don't worry mom who just dropped off her kids and left, I parented your unruly kids for you.) Time and Planning, they will be done with it after about 1 hour if they are playing hard at all. Plan ahead, I would suggest as others complained about finding out when birthday parties are scheduled because you will be limited. I call ahead at most places like this for that reason alone. Overall the facility on 180th had plenty of room for parents to be, Blondo not so much. The supervision is not probably what it should be. 1 staff member for 2 rooms of kids is not adequate to monitor, but when we were there that 1 staff member did an excellent job explaining the obstacles and rules and our group of kids (age range 6-10) seemed to be able to navigate just fine. The normal price is a pretty steep for likely an hour of play. Groupon has many offers to curb that in order to come check it out on a snow or rainy day. We had a good time, and were entertained watching all our kids attempt obstacles and challenge themselves.
We went to the one on Blondo. It's winter break, so very busy and only one person working. They really needed more, to monitor the obstacles. I had to stand outside the restroom so the guy could refill ALL the tp in the girls restroom. My youngest is 4 and could only really do 2-3 of the obstacles. Glad I didn't pay full price.
Young folks were running the place, which is no problem, but the lack of adult supervision was evident. The issue was that there was little organization. Kids from other parties were crossing into other rooms and the people in control of the place took no action in asking them to leave. At one point, 15+ kids finished their cake early and came running into the room our party had rented causing it to be overcrowded. It took nearly 15 minutes for the staff to ask them to leave after we made them aware. It could have been much better with more supervision and organization, keeping the parties separated in their designated rooms. It was more like an open gym at that point, not a birthday party.
Awesome place for kids to build confidence, balance and strength!!!
My husband and I randomly found this place after looking for things to do with our kiddos. We went out filled out the waiver and paid our fees so the kids could play. The staff was super friendly, and told us that one of the two gyms would be closing soon for a private party so they would recommend having the kids start over there. No problem. The equipment was very well maintained and the facilities were super clean in both gyms. We went to the second gym once the party was in there. We were told the party had to stay in the first gym while the rest of the paying customers stayed in the second gym. Not even 30 minutes later, 15 or so pre teen boys came barreling into the gym we were in and trampled over several toddlers and younger children. They began rough housing and very clearly violating the policies and regulations we all had to sign to use the equipment. My husband took my kids back to the first gym, and when I brought this up to staff they kind of just shrugged and said "Yeah, we've had a lot of problems with this party." Why they were allowed to act in such a manner in beyond me. Whether they are a party or not, they shouldn't be allowed to put others in danger. I was very disappointed that the staff choose to handle the situation in the way they did. Overall though, we were happy with our visit, the kids had a blast and it was a great workout. We do plan on returning.
I'm rating the birthday party experience we had for my son's 5th birthday. The gym is great, but there was little to no supervision from the employees. We were lead into the gym the kids were given some rules shown the warped wall, & that was it. The employees didn't even stick around to enforce their rules, it was left up to the parents. Since no one was supervising when it was time for us to go have cake we had to go ask what they would like us to do. The gym was fun & the kids had a good time, but from a parents point of view there were a few things lacking. We will be back to play, but we will have to think about having another bday party here.
I took my girls (11&8) here today. They loved it!!! The obstacles were challenging for both of them and the staff was helpful in giving them tips to help conquer them all. They are already asking when we are going back!!
Had my kids birthday party here this year. The gym has expanded and opened a second play area and a separate area for the birthday party. They provided hot dogs and drinks for the party. The employees are very friendly and helpful, plus were great with the kids. The Kids had 30 minutes of private play then could play the remaining time in the free play area. The bonus for us was the gym offered a discount coupon on birthday parties during thanksgiving. I don't know if the classes they offer are worth it, but the birthday parties were a hit.
I love this place in that it provides my kids with a unique and rich way to gain exercise and confidence. They love it. However, the restrooms aren’t clean, there are small holes in the walls, and it’s a bit dirty, in general. For the price, that’s tough to let slide. I don't expect perfection at all, but if the management had higher standards for upkeep, I’d be here much more often.
Can't tell you our experience as we never got in with three busloads of children and we had reservations
Awesome place to take your kids. Looking forward to a monthly pass.
We had a birthday party here for my son. All of the kids (boys ages 6-9) had a great time. We hung out with the kids in the first room for an hour. then we had cake and more play in a private room. The staff was great. They moved the group along, helped find a shoe that was lost in the foam pit, and led the kids in games at the end. There were a few obstacles that needed some TLC so that's why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. However, I still highly recommend this place for a kid's birthday.
Great place to take your kids to get their energy our!
For kids to have a fun work out.
Kids loved it, but they shut half of it down for private party. Great if your in the private party but otherwise u only get to use half the playground while the party is going. Not any staff supervision
Planned a party for 3 weeks just to and drove 30 minutes with 3 buses full of kids and they sent us back home because they didn't write down our reservation. Thanks for nothing Kids Warrior Gym. However, check out the bar Two Fine Irishmen. Great place.
