Grit gym- is overpriced, manipulative and coercive in their business practices. When I simply went to look at the gym and consider joining, I was repeatedly pressured to join. When I said I needed to look at my budget and take the weekend to think about whether to join or not, the trainer said "why don't you just sign a contract and if you decide it isn't for you, I'll rip the contract up." I never should have agreed to this and take responsibility for not being more firm in saying I needed to think about it.
After REPEATEDLY and CLEARLY stating I was not interested in joining to the trainer, the owner Adam called me to follow up to ensure there were "no hard feelings." He assured me on two separate occasions he would refund the $132 they charged my account. After a week passed and there was no refund he apparently changed his mind and said "We only want people to sign up if they're going to use it, hence the obstacle set in place of signing up fo the services here. Not so someone could get upset at us for their purchase." I posted on multiple social media sites what happened to me and MULTIPLE women wrote me to tell me of similar experiences where they were gaslighted, pushed or endured manipulative business practices. This is clearly a pattern of behavior and instead of shifting the blame to potential/past clients (particularly women) he might self reflect and own his sexist, toxic predatory business tactics.
