It is a nice gym, clean, & they offer some gym classes which is nice for those that like that. When I signed up though I was told a "sign up" price, and ended up paying more initially to sign up then I was told by the manager..it was kind of disappointing because I felt like I was taken advantage of at the time. I was also double charged one time twice in the same month, which they fixed very willingly--and I was thankful for that! I did continue with a fitness world membership for 1 year, but overall I felt like I was paying too much (had paid to much to just join the gym) for what I was getting.

Good equipment. 24 hours. Friendly staff. Steam and dry saunas. Good locker rooms. Little hectic at peak times and over priced for a membership. Way over priced.

Great place for locals to break a sweat. Excellent selection of free weights, weight machines and cardio equipment.

Words to describe Fitness World Ankeny: Dirty Messy Barely adequate Wash your hands after weights. There is no hot water in the men's room bathroom so most men do not wash their hands. Locker rooms are very disgusting, I recommend showering at home. For the price, this gym is not worth it.

This is a great gym with all the equipment you need... but they don’t do a good job cleaning this gym let alone restocking bathroom supplies during the week or weekends, it’s almost like the workers here just want to sit around and watch people scan in then making sure customers have everything they need. But overall a good gym.

I was really interested in getting a membership and they refused to go over pricing over the phone. My husband and I work opposite schedules and we have a 10 month old baby. I don't have time to physically come into every gym I am interested in. I just wanted a general idea of the price range for a membership, so I could make a decision if it was in my budget. No need to waste everyone's time by coming on if it isn't in my price range. This gym was at the top of my list, but I don't have time for games.
