You will see all the reviews of real people like you who use the products and services of Lakeshore Sport & Fitness (Gym) in Illinois area.
At this moment the business receives a score of 3.7 stars over 5 and that score has been calculated on 36 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is good, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we may be pretty sure that the rating is very accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Gym corresponds to the category of Gym.
I very recently joined Lakeshore in Lincoln Park. It's a top notch place, and service is excellent no matter where you go. Also the rooftop restaurant and bar are awesome. Highly recommend for someone looking for a gym with the finer things.
Watch Out!!!! Very sad that the owner/'s are one of this kinda people who won't pay their bills. Our company did some work but never haven't been paid!! Once a Thief Always a Thief.
I am a member of LSF. I want to say they have good equipments, friendship, good service in the club. I have been using a tennis court for practicing tennis.
We are a family with 3 kids, ages 7, 5, and 2. We have been members for 3 years and love this place. The summer camp is awesome, the kitchen is the best....Robyn n crew go out of their way to make life easy for parents. If you are looking for a 5 star, pretentious club, then this is not for you. If you want an affordable club to socialize and create community for your family, then this is the place. The summer time rooftop scene is incredible.
swimming pool, guest pass is $35
Great family club for a great family price. Tons of activities & programs for kids and adults. Great kids club that handles the kids while your working out. Clean and well taken care of facility.
Do not join this gym!!! I went to tour this gym and got roped into a 3 month contract, which at the time I thought was no big deal especially with the short time frame. It ended up being a terrible decision. The business office, especially Brianna and Annabelle are nightmares to work with. It started when I got a free massage when I joined, I used it within the first month of membership as directed. I ended up being charged $80 to my account for my FREE massage. Once I noticed my account was charged I immediately contacted the business office to get a refund. It took them over a week to look into the situation and then they claimed they just cleared out my other charges on my account with the $80 I was overcharged but refused to provide any back up documentation. Finally after weeks of back and forth and hassle it escalated to a manager and he finally refunded the money I was inaccurately charged. Then about a month later I was offered a job out of state, which I accepted. Per their cancellation policy you are able to cancel membership immediately if moving further than 25 miles with proof of move. So I provided everything I needed and received a confirmation that my membership was canceled. I was then billed the following month (after I had not been able to use the gym over a month). When I reached out again, Annabelle and Brianna were both completely unprofessional and rude and admitted the made an error in the cancellation date, but since part of it was correct claimed I should have known that I was going to be charged another month. Not sure how I would know this given the incorrect date provided to me. Since the date provided to me was inaccurate I did not look into my cancellation any further until after I was charged. I have contacted them multiple times regarding this and they continue to be incompetent and unhelpful. It has now been over a month since this money was taken from my account. If you do join this gym DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT OR CC INFORMATION. Their business model is based on charging people's accounts inaccurately and it is almost impossible to get the money back. Who knew $99 meant so much to a mega gym, must be having more internal issues. At the very least I would expect the employees, Annabelle and Brianna to act professionally and with respect.
Very difficult cancellation process.
Staff members steal your socks and shoes when you're not looking! Time consuming to recover.
I was part of a tennis tournament here and at midtown. Lakeshore was super helpful, kind and accommodating. They had great staff, the courts were in the right kind of good shape (not necessarily pretty but no dead spots, the surface was great), the viewing areas were really great, and they provided food which was totally what we needed. They also had free parking facilities. If I was picking a tennis club, they'd be my choice. Thanks Lakeshore, the tournament turned out great. Oof, and that rooftop....
I'm very surprised to see negative reviews about unfriendly staff or difficult cancellation policies. In my experience staff always been very friendly!!! My roommate had to cancel her membership and didn't have any problems. I love this gym and all of the amenities it has. They actually improve it all the time! And I never noticed any dirt. Thank you, LSF! You are the best!
The staff is very friendly and I’ve received treatment twice and it’s cured me of injuries both times successfully and professionally. Highly recommend!
Lakeshore Sport & Fitness has great equipment and amenities, and very reasonable prices considering the things available. At close to half the price of the somewhat larger East Bank Club, Lakeshore Sport & Fitness is the best value for a gym in Lincoln Park/the Near North. It has a wide range of classes and equipment types, 2 attractive pools, and good food. The place may not be as high-end or new as some competitors, but in general it's very well maintained.
I've been a member at Lakeshore SF for a few years and it is a very nice family club. My son is very comfortable there and knows the facility inch by inch. The cafe is top notch and we'll run. The front rooftop has a very good restaurant and seating/relaxation area as well as an indoor pool, more locker rooms. The rear rooftop offers a play area for kids and a couple of outdoor courts. They offer tennis development at all levels, with skilled pros, and a lot of opportunities to mix and play. The rooftop parties give you a chance to meet the staff and other members. I left out a lot but overall it's a great value with a friendly and inviting staff and social atmosphere.
A great fitness center for families
These people are incredibly dishonest, all the way from signing up to cancellation. I'm too busy to go into details, but trust me - just avoid the headache.
Awful customer service, and terrible cancellation process, verging on a complete ripoff. If you absolutely have to get a membership here, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER. They will continue to charge your account for a membership fee long after cancellation.
I’m a current member and I have to say that the place is ok but nothing different to other places. The equipment is ok but the building needs urgently a modern look and feel change. Something that I really don’t like is the staff, they are not friendly, they are not willing to help.. You need to be really lucky if they said hello or bye, specially the guys in the front desk. I’m still going because it’s literally in front of my house... I don’t have excuses to avoid go to the gym and I don’t like to drive at night after work...
I've been a member at LSF for a year now, and it's a great health club. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. The equipment is all in great shape, and the place is huge (basketball court, lots of tennis courts, group classes, racquetball, pools, 1/4 mile track, boxing room, everything). I've never had to wait for any cardio equipment, and very rarely have to wait in the free weight section. Management has shown that they are really serious about continuing to improve the club (based on some reviews and conversation with older members, the place used to be a bit neglected). The locker room renovations left a great, clean area, and the rooftop is perfect in the summer. Sure, there are kids wandering around sometimes, because it can be a family oriented club (which could be nice for some), but as a get-in, get-out exerciser, I've never really been bothered and will continue to go to LSF as long as I'm in the neighborhood.
BEWARE OF THE CONTRACT!! The cancellation and fee policy are surprisingly costly and unfair. To cancel a membership, you must notify them 30-60 days before you stop paying for services for the monthly membership, and God forbid you sign a yearly membership. They will not tell you this as you are rushed to sign
GM very unprofessional, treats employees with no respect, racist. No set hours. Training sucks. Do not care about employees. Manager that hired me gave his two weeks notice. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Great swim team and coaches!
this place sucks, thankfully i only ended up trying it for a workout and not signing a contract. when i arrived after emailing back and forth with one of the employees, I told the worker at the front desk that I was told i could try out the club a few times, he acted like i was lying to him. whole club feels like a snobby catholic high school. I'm 22 with my first job and their young adult rate is $90/month. what a joke. would be a good price if everything was new there
Club is dirty and staff are not friendly.
