This place is great! If you are looking for 'state of the art,' this isn't the place for you. It has an old school gym feel. They are also the only gym in the area to have a complete set of bumper plates, plyo-boxes, a rower, foam rollers, and free-weight squat boxes. I wish I would have stopped in sooner.

"Pay or get out" type of gym; they just want your money, out-of-date equipment, deserted atmosphere. Not recommended.

I love this gym and the staff! I'm newer to the area, called just about all local gyms. Was shocked how many took days to call me back or never called me back regarding personal training sessions. Mary at Hometown called me within hours, she's amazing and one of the most inspiring woman I've ever met! And now working with personal trainers Lindsay and Bryan, they're fantastic, really know their stuff and fun too! (major bonus especially when I don't want to be there at 5am). I highly recommend them!

Awesome place to work out. Family friendly atmosphere. Clean equipment and up to date. No pushy sales reps but if you need a trainer or advice they are there to help in a second. Love it there.

I love this gym! It's not too big and not too small. There's a great family environment here. I love the amount of classes that are included with the affordable membership. Zumba, Spinning, and bootcamp/circuit style classes. Great staff and GREAT teachers! There are also a lot of fun competitions to help you meet your fitness goal.

This is an amazing gym. Love the friendly vibe here too. The owner, Mary, has tremendous customer service. And she remembers your name when you walk in the door. We hired a personal trainer (Brian or Bryan?) for our teenage son. Our son says he's extremely thorough, friendly and knowledgeable. He said he enjoys working out here more than another gym we are members of bc this one is so friendly. I cannot recommend this place any higher. In fact, I will be soon ending my other gym membership, and join here once my other contract is up. You won't be disappointed in this gym.

I love my gym.I say my gym because it feels like home. I belonged to the huge meat market gym for a year and was intimidated as I was ...well...fatter than everyone. The classes were geared for people in great shape.I didnt feel successful. At Hometown most of the people are like me. The trainers pointed me in the right direction.They care about beginners here.I do the group ex classes and keep up with everyone. The staff is friendly and they actually know my name!

I consider myself an average kind of guy and like that all ages, sizes and people with a variety of goals can all enjoy this place, give it try and you'll surprise yourself how much you like it. Over the past year there had been a change of ownership and the new owner has IMPROVED and Upgrade not only the option of machines there- they have also worked on the overall listing of classes available at NO EXTRA CHARGE! They are INCLUDED in your membership- Just show up! I've been training there for over 2 years and love the atmosphere. Everyone has always been helpful and encouraging to help me toward my goals. If your looking for the huge gym feel this might not be for you but if your looking for a warm and caring gym that looks to help you become a more healthy person, Step Right Up!

I have been coming to this gym for years. I used to just be at Hometown during summer break for college, but now I am a regular and am there every single day. Very welcoming atmosphere and environment with great staff, members and ownership. I would highly recommend this gym to those in the area.

I had a GREAT first experience last night. The staff is very pleasant and welcoming. I love the small, homelike feel of this establishment. Wife and I are relocating with our three kids to Plainfield after 22 years of serving in the Army and I can honestly say that our fitness center search just got significantly easier.

Man, I really miss this gym. I have moved around a lot and now no longer am in IL but this was the BEST GYM EVER! Excellent staff, great classes, perfect size and equipment selection. I couldn't wait to hit up this gym every day - they totally killed it. I had memberships to a lot of gyms and none will ever compare to hometown fitness. ps, been like 8 years + and still have ~ 6 survivor tee shirts lol You ever decide to open one up in Kansas City; shout out.
