I have been a member at this gym since it opened. The gym is conveniently located and being a 24/7 gym, times are fantastic. The gym is clean and the staff is friendly. The reason for the 1 star rating is due to the fact that management does not listen to members. Group classes are always changing and taking up the group fitness room even when there are only a few attendees. This causes problems for members wanting to work out in the group room. Also, there is no monitoring system for the kids room. I am not comfortable leaving my child in there alone or with other children and have asked for a simple camera system to be installed so that I can monitor my child on the TVs while in the weight room. I was given an arbitrary answer and no response after a single follow-up email. I have a multiple membership account at this gym and have referred numerous people there. I am going to be taking a look at the new YMCA in Meridian due to the fact that I am not being listened to or taken seriously. I am a business professional and understand the needs and wants of members, and I do not think a camera system it's too much to ask for and worth a follow up email.
Thanks for the quick reply. I would say that your group class times change and they are not always posted. Sometimes there are two to three people in a group class with half a dozen members shoved into the small room trying to work out. That's a problem. The other thing is I would like to know is when and how you talked with your members regarding child monitoring as I am a longtime member who brings in a child and I was never consulted regarding this nor have I ever seen anything posted posing the question. I would think child safety would be of the utmost importance. Even if there is a camera system in the room now, staff is not always at their desk as they have other tasks throughout the day. The only benefit to this would be if something did happen you could go back and see if there was an issue, but this is reactive and not proactive.
