I have used this gym for years and have not had a single complaint. I didn't realize how much I liked working out here until I moved away for a few months for an internship. The whole time I was gone, I missed World Gym in Rexburg. The size of the place allows you to always do something. I have never had to wait or been inconvenienced by the amount of people in there. People who have a problem with this place either didn't do their homework or haven't been working out for very long. There are no surprise fees and the cost is totally worth it.

Whatever you do, don't sign a membership with this place. They require you to give written notice for closing of a membership. Normal right? Wrong, because you can't give written notice at the location. You have to mail it to a company in Utah. You have to call that company to get the address to mail it for. There's no way to email, to tell on phone, or to tell in person. You have to mail it. What century does this company operate in?

I just signed up here and can already tell it's better than any other gym I've been to, especially when it comes to customer service! The guy at the front knew everyone's name right as they walked through the door and greeted/talked to them like he had known them for years. The manager is incredibly helpful and friendly. There are just good people here. On top of all that they have lots of great equipment and even free tanning, which Lord knows I need! This is the gym to go to, hands down!

I’ve been working out here for about 6 months and have LOVED it until recently when they hired a new girl for the front desk. She is SO rude. I was doing circuits between 3 machines and every time I got off one, she would jump ON ME to de-rack the machine which I understand but I am using them and she just didn’t care. She also SPRINTS everywhere across the whole gym pushing through people without a care. She’s just so disruptive, it’s so difficult to focus on my workout.

Rethink, he's for profit. How else is he going to survive? I did a 1 month only and had to mail certify to Utah, one month before, hello? I paid with a check and not with a card so he wouldn't dare put it in the system, he used it anyways. Summer is coming up and the gym is the last place you want to be. You want to be camping, vacation, with your wife, husband and children. He knows Summer is his lowest selling point. He prepares 3 months in advance to enroll even if you just want one month with out your permission. He took money out my bank without my permission 3 to 4 times. I have a hospital bill and the bank is fighting for my money back because of a crime, someone is using your bank account to purchase on zulili. I don't know who those bad practitioners might be. Check your bank statements 4 months back and check for any fraud.

Do NOT sign up at this gym. World Gym raised my rates after only a few months of being a member despite being still in the original one-year "contract" that I had signed up for. In my opinion, when you sign a one-year contract, your monthly rate should be the same for at least that year. So, I decided to cancel my membership. You should know up front what I did not - to cancel your World Gym membership, you have to send a CERTIFIED letter to a third-party company in Utah. Despite how annoying that was, I did it. I wrote them and told them I was still under contract, but I wanted to cancel anyway because of the rate hike and told them to contact me by phone or email if that would be a problem. I never heard back from them, so I assumed it was taken care of. Then, I noticed on my credit card statement that they had continued to charge me my monthly fee!. When I called them back, they admitted they were in the wrong by not contacting me, but did not refund any of the money they had charged during the time after the letter AND still charged me a fee to get out of the contract even though they were the ones who violated the terms. Overall a terrible terrible experience. Unfortunate, since the gym itself is a decent place. Unless you intend to never ever cancel your membership, I would look elsewhere for a gym that cares a little more about its clients and makes it more straightforward and honest. No gym is worth the amount of hassle these guys put you through for membership issues like this.

The gym is really good overall. I like their weight selection and they have a really good set up. I do wish there was at least one more versatile cable machine since they are often taken when the gym gets busy and they are not the best about fixing and repairing their equipment properly. But the gym is good and my wife loves the high fitness class workout and instructor.

I have a membership here and I like it. It is small and starting to be full because of the contracts they have with some student housing. So, that is not fun because if you live here and want to avoid the school traffic you won't necessarily get that. They have decent amenities. I love, love, love the staff they are so awesome. Overall, it's a great place to work out and you can buy supplements and enjoy it there, it's just getting too small for the community that is growing and it could include more in the membership but other than that its pretty good

BEWARE: To cancel your contract it usually takes 30 days which involves mailing a letter to salt lake. They of course will charge you for that extra month (or 2), waiting for them to cancel your contract. Standard cancellation process. The service is clearly to draw out your contract as long as possible. Many employees may tell you that you get free cancellation but the billing office will always tell you different. This is the truth, it happens with every account. The account managing employees are told to "wait a certain amount of time before processing the cancellation." Same owners for all the bodifi in east Idaho. I am not saying the gym is bad quality, I just wanted to let people, who are considering signing a contract, know what their process is like. Do not expect to have an easy exit process, or straight forward, or honest. They will naturally try to charge you for another 1 year contract without you agreeing and then try to make you pay that during your cancellation process. Hopefully this helps someone make a more informed decision.

Terrible staff and management I think Shane is the managers name We called to make sure we could get a free day trial pass to test out the gym. They said yes on the phone. I have been happy with this gym and it's atmosphere since I started going. With there being a gym on the BYU-Idaho campus, the only people that really attend here are people that really care about their workout. You can create a gym family here very easily. The facility itself is kept very clean, and the employees are very friendly and positive. I would recommend anyone to become a member here.

Had an inexperienced employee working there tell me the my contact is over and then I just kept getting billed. To find out I need to contact a billing company in which I need to waste more money by mailing a letter of cancelation in. They are so unorganized and poorly ran. get ride of this paramount idiots and do your own billing to take care of your customers. Very poor. Would look for an other gym than World Gym

WATCH OUT! THESE GUYS GET YOU IN TWO YEAR CONTRACTS. They froze the account for a summer since we would be out of town for a job, and life happens and we ended up moving out of state after the summer. They did not notify us that our account was still getting charged after the summer until we find out 9 months later after having been charged over $400. They refused to reimburse the difference and did not take accountability for updating customers on automatic renewal - even knowing they are living in a different state and have not used the gym in over a year. They will fight and fight you over the phone till you agree to their terms. They have 0 desire to help you and make things right. After we tried getting reimbursed for the $400 for not even using the facility for 9 months, they tried charging us a $54 cancellation fee. Just be cautious before you freeze anything or sign a contract with these guys.

Great gym! Most people working there are really good. I had a few problem with my wife's and my account but they fixed it really fast and with no hassle. The manager there Shane is a down to earth person and also very ethical. He is good at working with customers and finding a solution for problems. Definitely recommend this gym!!!

This is a very expensive gym for what you get. Read the ENTIRE contract before you sign it. Getting out of the contract is HORRIBLE. We’re paying insane amounts to cancel this membership. This place is not worth your money. Many other gyms are so much cheaper and give you more for your money. There is no pool, no basketball court, and only 1 squat rack. The cardio machines are falling apart. The areas for stretching are often taken by some class. The members aren't very considerate of others trying to workout. You will get groups of bros that sit at station for hours and girls that say they are on a station when they are really just holding it until their group of gals gets there. Oh, and you can't even bring a guest. The only reason I signed up was because it was Winter and I lived really close. Here is what I really hate: why do you have to write a letter to cancel your membership?1? This isn't the 19th century. I didn't sign my contract during the Civil War. Any other subscription service allows you to cancel when you want, usually just by clicking a button on their website. But here, you can't even do it in person, or even when you are talking to their people that charge your account on the phone. They have all the information they need, yet they want you to write a letter. A letter! I didn't even have paper to write a letter! I had to borrow letter writing supplies from a friend. Although I had fun writing a fictitious letter in the style of a 19th century priest, I was pretty furious about the whole thing. It all boils down to lame, unethical business practices. They want to make it difficult for you to cancel in order to squeeze another month of pay out your account against your will. Again, this place is not worth the cost, even if you enjoy writing redundant letters. For a good laugh, look up Ryan Hamilton stand up. Its on the Colbert show and he talks about this.

The equipment is pretty old and they don’t have everything but compared to the other gyms in town it’s the best. VERY busy in the morning and after work at night. If you go during the day though you will have access to everything.

I’m not the kind of guy that likes to be a know it all, but it drives me a little crazy when I see people with bad form. As I was leaving I notice she works at bodifi and was mocking me as I walked out the door. This is why I try not to correct people, they’re stuck up and prideful. I don’t care if you freaking work at the gym, you’re not a god

The bathrooms in this gym are disgusting. They use a third party billing company which is a pain. Its a hassel to cancel your membership. I should be able to cancel my membership in the same building I signed up. I've been at Anytime Fitness for a while now, much happier. Way cleaner/sanitary and worth the extra money.

After searching for somewhere to workout while visiting family, the well priced week pass and size attracted me to Worlds over other gyms in the area. Average size, but not small by any means. Limited cables and squat racks but even during busy times easily able to get some time. Good variety of Hammer Machines and full compliment of dumbbells, straight and curl EZ Bars. Multiples of all the typical cardio machines and even a functional fitness area. Classes are offered but I did not participate in any. Childrens area allows for parents to drop of kids at a $3 a child during certain hours of the day. The staff has been the best experiance, friendly and knowledgeable they have helped woth a smile every time. Recommended to anyone passing though and needing a quick session or local looking for a membership.

Awful customer service, so hard to cancel, the trainers don't use proper technique or know what the heck they're doing. They just need to make sales- so you are just another number. Their billing company, Paramount Acceptance gives you one story and the gym gives you another about their billing. I will never go to them again.

DO NOT USE THIS GYM!! They might have friendly people but their payment company is HORRIBLE!! The WORST experience of my life. The "Customer Service Reps" don't know anything. They read everything off a script. I had one of them hang up on me. I sent my tag with a notice of cancellation to them OVER A YEAR AGO and they are STILL charging my account. Their only excuse was "we have no record of that." I asked to speak to someone else, even just a different rep, that would have more respect for a customer, and they told me that there "was no one else to speak to". Not only have they been charging my account for the past year but starting January 5 they deemed it OK to STEAL $85 from me. They have no respect for people, they are just out to steal your bank information and rape you for money month after month after month. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE people. And World Gym employees are no better! They don't even know what the contract states to tell you how to cancel your account. I had them tell me that all I needed to do was call over to Paramount Acceptance and tell them that my contract was up and to stop taking payments. Well THAT didn't work. It's all a huge runaround. No one knows ANYTHING about customer service. Hundreds of dollars later and it STILL isn't taken care of. Called over to my bank and told them that it is an unauthorized withdrawal and they are standing behind me on this one. THANK GOD! If it's not resolved soon, I will be taking them to small claims court and the Better Business Bureau will be receiving a scathing review of BOTH companies.

DO NOT USE THIS GYM!!! The facilites themselves are nice enough and the staff is friendly. The ethics behind this specific facility are missing. They might have friendly people but their payment method instituted by Worlds Gym is HORRIBLE!!! I understand that most gyms use this technique, but honestly I expected more from the manager here, who I have met with in person on multiple occasions to discuss everything I'm about to review here. In a nutshell I talked with the manager about specific conditions about getting a membership, which he agreed to verbally. They regarded my account being cancelled due to the fact that I would be crossing the country for an extended period of time. After getting a membership I and going to the gym happily for the allotted time I left thinking all was said and done. Only to learn 5 months later that I was STILL being charged. I get it, I could have checked to make sure my bank account was not being withdrawn from, but that's not the point. After coming back to Rexburg I decided to talk with the manager to see if there was a miscommunication and to see if we could rectify the situation. I still planned on using World's Gym. But, they would not refund or grant me credit for my expenses, no step was given to amend my verbally agreed to contract. No effort was made to see my side of this. He simply stated that he "never makes allowances and that he doesn't see himself doing that" and I quote "I pride myself on not going outside of the contract and dealing with people straightforwardly". The manager would not let me cancel my contract while I was in person with him telling him that I no longer wish to use his gym. I just got a call from the collection agency today stating that my card has expired and that they need a new one. Even though I sent those people a letter months ago. If my card expiring is the only way to cut ties with this operation, I can only say that World's Gym is morally unethical and undeserving of anyone's business. I would like to note that the collection agency has been a more useful tool to me than anyone at World's Gym. It is not the collection agency's policy to have a certified letter to cancel a membership. That is the archaic World's Gym policy making sure that cancelling is as hard as can possibly be in the 21 first century. I'm happy to talk with anyone who would like to address this, cause I know you like your positive reviews :P You get a free month of membership for leaving a positive one, hence all the good reviews. So don't be fooled. Good deal if you can stand these people having your card information. Financially speaking for the company it makes sense, one free month is worth a year of stealing behind someones back. I will be doing all of my normal gym actives elsewhere. Good job on missing out of the next year and a half of me being here. Edit: I forgot the managers name, while I don't have a last name the review below mine states that the manager is Shane. This is who I have dealt with in regards to my time at World's Gym.

I got a gym membership here and tried to cancel it yet they kept billing me! I called the company that handles the accounts and they said they never even got the money and pretty muc said nothing they can do. I find these people to be extremely dishonest in this aspect because this has happened to more than just myself. I would never recomend going here. The equipment there is great and it has a good atmosphere however they do no care about anything other than money and it shows.
