REVIEWS OF The Edge Fitness Clubs Fairfield IN Connecticut

Griffin Gerardi

Morgan was a friendly and helpful woman to speak to!

Ben Hazzard

Employees are very disrespectful and they can't seem me to get their act straight. My friend also came in to do a free trial (which was approved my past visit), but was denied when he arrived. Overall very poor service/ management!

Brandon McBreairty

Review your contract before you sign it, they roped me into a contact that I'm not allowed to cancel because I didn't move far enough. I have to pay for a membership that I won't be using. Will never step foot into an edge again.

Cosmic Unity

This place is the worst. They are racist, they will have you sign up and then find a reason to pick on you so you can cancel and have you pay rest of the year, they want your money, but not you. They have too many people at the gym so they need to find a way to kick people out while still being able to bill them. If you read the comments they the Manager Kyle Ferri and his goons hire undocumented people to work and not pay them, and other shady stuff. I have already reached out to the President and Vice President of the Company. I will not stop until I expose the disguesting way they trap people.

Michael DiGennaro

the staff is very friendly and they offer a wide variety of classes. provides the most service in the area and they have a great price point

Tori Puebla

I get charged like $60 a month and when I don't get. Charged $60 it's $40 and I always have money in my account and I get overcharged all the time.

Michael Pearson

There is never parking after work. However equipment is very nice

Blake Partridge

It's convienient because of the location but otherwise this location is horrible. Most of the cardio equipment is beat down and broken. If you live in the area, save yourself a headache and go to Stratford.

Brahm Turner-Schaefer

Extremely helpful staff and a very clean facility. The atmosphere of this fitness club keeps you motivated everyday.

Davana Newson

I really liked the gym itself but it's the late fees and service fees no one tells you about and when you call to ask no one has any idea what you're talking about, I was charged twice for two months, meaning I paid this company four times in two months and that was when I started when I called to ask why they only show one payment, the fact that I can only put my account on hold for medical reasons is really sad because now I can't afford to pay and the egde fitness clubs can't do any thing about it

Disco Duck

Ok many of the staff are nice and professional. But. Not once but twice the cleaning guy lifted my shampoo bottle which i had put down. He denied it but if he didnt then clearly people are stealing in locker room. There are some trainers who in the locker room thought they should go into detail about their loose bowels, their pathetic opinions of how weird the women are, and that they should make nasty snot sounds and jump around like a ape. Multiple clients were hollering for the clown to knock it off. Should trainers use same locker room if they are planning to offend the adult clientele. Not for nothing there may be a very immature vibe going on here. Not impressed unfortunately.

Been going to the edge for 10+ years and it has gone down hill since...biggest complaint is the tv/audio on the equipment never works well..bad sound bad visual..and you complain but the next month samo old crappy equipment...to boot the bathrooms are a dusgustingly dirty!

Lauren S

The new Edge in Fairfield is awesome! The membership prices are reasonable, and the gym is very clean. They offer tons of classes and the staff is friendly. I love it!

Claire Sachs

Great gym but unfortunately have schemed money for months after personally going in and calling them to cancel by membership. They have been charging me for the past few months and I canceled over 6 months ago. Very upsetting, great potential but me along with many others have had the same experience with scamming your money. Be weary.

Lisa Canak

The gym itself is good, but canceling membership is a huge pain. Unless you are positive you will and can fulfill your contract agreement, think twice about signing up here.

Douglas Smith

I have to give it a 5 just because the trainer Rebecca who signed me up was so awesome and down to earth and funny best part is she really wants success for all her clients and you can feel that ..

Marielle OConnor

Wow, what a fitness club! I love this facility and everything they have to offer... Especially my trainer Kristyn for helping me fit into my skinny jeans again!

Edgardo Aponte Jr.

PREPARE TO SIGN YOUR LIFE AWAY. Late fees, hidden charges, multiple charges. This is a day in the life of a member at Edge Fitness in Fairfield, CT. Steve, the "manager", is a complete idiot. His way of dealing with clients is speaking over them until they give up trying to speak. Parking is horrendous, the entire staff stands at the front desk or is sitting down, DOING NOTHING. One of the employees referred to a woman as "that fat white lady". This place is more of a hang out than a business, maybe if one of the employees got off their fit butts that gym would be a decent spot, maybe not.

Speaking specifically for this club, I’m going to be as honest as possible. The hours of operation are great, but this gym has become too crowded for it’s own good. There just isn’t enough equipment to go around (the Edge Fitness in Derby is even worse), which leaves you waiting for a squat rack or a bench to open up after 10 minutes amongst the circus that goes on here. I’ve tried going various times throughout the day and the ideal time is towards 10PM, which became tiring and not everyone’s schedule is that flexible. I’m agreeing with one of the other reviews mentioned, stating “members making comments during [your] rest periods” in addition to the occasional glares you get from other members while working with too little weight or too much weight, 435lbs isn’t going down lightly. Not to mention, the amount of times I have/nearly tripped around the (uneven) deadlift platforms and squat racks because people can’t be bothered to “follow equipment guideline” which is really enforced. Pricing is good for the first year, which at the time of me registering, was $21.26/month. However, what isn’t mentioned, is that when the “annual club maintenance fee” of $49.99 comes around you must pay both that and your monthly membership fee ontop of it, but I guess that’s pretty self-explanatory. After your full year contract is up, the price increases to $26.58/month tallying up to $631.06 for 1 year and 8 months of memebership. If you’re unhappy with the price, you’re free to cancel your contract with minimal hassle, though the process is not handled through them, but abcfinancial. Personally I suggest that you do not buy into needing a trainer, you can just find some really great YouTubers (not AthleanX), who have much more informative videos than they do. My recommendation is to find another gym, preferrably not a commercial gym. Finding a personal trainer that can help you program and not make a plan on the fly making you think you’re getting your money’s-worth, when you’re not just because you’re overly fatigued.

Ned D

Best gym and service around! Weight challenge will guarantee weight loss. One on one and group classes. Kristyn has help me lose over 37 lbs in a year and kept it off.

Joseph Lamontagne

A lot of equipment, but the members there need to learn basic gym etiquette. I never seen so many members who think own the place and either jump on your cable machine while you were looking for a handle, make comments during your rest period because they want to use the machine you currently are working on, stand in front of the weights doing curls or dumbbell rows instead of making room for people to get the weights in front of them, not putting weights away when they are done and other rude acts.

Benjamin Carapezzi

Sitting down to “talk” about a membership with these people is about the least enjoyable expierience one can have. They PRESSURE you into signing up for long term contracts, they try to get you to sign up and buy tons of additional stuff you don’t need and try to trick you throughout the process. In addition to the laughable management- lots of stuff goes “missing” from lockers at the Fairfield edge. Don’t bring anything of any value in because people “lose” belongings all the time. Facilities are decent- which is the only reason for the second star. Do better.

Alexis Tedesco

I would recommend The Edge Fitness Club to anyone who wants a five star fitness experience! Beth Anne Shelman was a pleasure to work with, very informative and motivating.... Ask for her when you stop in to sign up!

Aaron Hall

Man this place is so awesome , the employees were very welcoming . I was having a bad day but the employees helped me turn it around .

Dji' Na

Great gym, classes and staff! I recommend the EDGE of Fairfield CT -

Mariana Eileen

The General Manager Steve is EXTREMELY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and I don't know how he received his position. I called to verify an account that was closed and billing arrangements were supposed to be removed from another member's account. He continuously YELLED,BELITTLED, and TRIED TO BULLY ME OVER THE PHONE. He asked how he would hold me accountable for the account if i did not have a credit card on file; I responded what your service staff told me when I joined.. to have paper billing through the billing company. He said that was an option and he didn't do business that way and would leave my card on file to guarantee payment! I wouldn't recommend anyone to this gym for their poor and lack of customer service. WORST GYM AND STAFF EVER!!!!!

Kaylee Uszakiewicz

I signed up at the fitness edge and was talked into joining a personal training program. If you want a headache go ahead and sign up here. There's no one to call to speak to about billing because they throw you around to other people and no one has the answer. The staff has no knowledge about what they're billing for. I suspended my personal training and no one told me they would continue to charge me for classes. They charged me on both my cards. I went in more then 30 days before to cancel my sessions in JULY and they said I would still be charged $70 in June for classes I DON'T TAKE nor approved or AWARE OF. When I asked about the fee the staff didn't have an answer. The personal trainer was very nice and it was not her that I had a problem with it is there personal training manager. This gym is quick to take your money and stingy to help you with your bill. They also said school wasn't important as your body and "how will you preform in the medical field if you are not healthy" which I still attend the gym itself and just didn't want the once a month personal training. and criticized that I was on an externship which was the reason for suspending till July. I guess your body ego is more important then an education maybe that's why they work at a gym on minimum wage for a living.

Peggy Wargo

Fairfield's Edge Fitness Club is an excellent facility. It has a fine inventory of equipment, plenty of parking and extensive hours. I have been working with a superb trainer, Pedro Hernandez. He works effectively with clients at various fitness levels.

Daniela Mendieta

Even though the gym has a nice equipment, it has awful staff and also if you want to sign up BE CAREFUL WITH THE BILLING PROCESS!!! I can see in the reviews that I'm not the only one that complaint about the billing process it has been more than 2 times that the staff swipe my debit card for a double amount of that I should pay for my membership. The worst thing is I can't believe that I sent my bank statements to ABC financial to demostrat this ,and they didn't even answer my email or solve it. when I called they give me always excuses . That's why I canceled my membership, and I still have to pay them money for manutance ...when since February they have been charging me 3 times more! This is an abuse.

Yvonne Santiago

I love the Edge Gym of Fairfield. There's always friendly warm smiles when I walk in, especially Mikaela Adams! If I ever need help there's someone there to help! And it's clean! Doesn't smell like a gym, but of motivation!

Martha Slivka

Such a scam. Was told it was a contract but after the date I thought it would end I found that I was still being charged. When I called to cancel I the found out what a hassel it was and how I was still going to be charged every fee for 30 days. I Would never recomend this place to anyone.

Jana Uhrich

The gym itself is fine, the classes are fun, the equipment is fine and the showers are nice. However, it's not worth dealing with their horrible no good lying cheating billing company. ABC financial has more rip off reports than their are free weights in the gym. Do not trust this company with your billing information. It's really too bad since the Edge is nice.

Elaine Wheeler

The extreme amount of traffic through this gym has significantly wore it down since opening. While it is somewhat understandable I only have one question: What the heck do you do with our enhancement fees? I mean I did get some notice about a new piece of equipment or two that was purchased recently, but with the sheer number of members paying that fee I think you can do a little better then that! Example: was in the tanning booth the other day. After 5 min I turn around to see that the ENTIRE back side had not ONE working bulb! Come on now! You only have 2 booths, can you not keep them in working order?

Phil Toran

Overcrowded. Incredibly rude staff that will persuade you and force you into membership contracts. they'll try to sell you so hard on personal training and nutrition programs. Read the other reviews. Seems pretty unanimous. NO NEED TO HAVE SUCH AN ATTITUDE AND TONE when someone wants to get more information or talk bout membership. Cancelling is near impossible once you are "locked in" to their membership. Then its off to "ABC financial" to deal with any issues post cancellation. Seems so desperate. I really hate the Edge.

Pa rulu

Today Nov. 11th 2017 at 9am, the two young attendants just stared akwardly. That's just rude to black people. Try saying hi as a professional courtesy.

Dominique Kolodziejczyk

Over crowded! They staff is horribly unfriendly. Much rather use Trumbull or Milford.

Nydia Concepcion

Frank is awesome

Avram Scarlett

It's a great gym, and the people are nice. However, I had an incident where I was told and emailed that I wouldn't be charged an extra fee, and when I talked to one of the staff members, he said there was nothing he could do about it.

M P

Good luck getting out of your contract. They make it as difficult, frustrating, and lengthy an ordeal as possible. The lied to me when I signed up about the conditions for membership cancellation. Your membership also automatically renews yearly by default. 0 star customer service.

Kelsey Dill

I was never one who had pleasant experiences at a gym. Back home, when the women would be working out it always felt like me were either staring at you or annoyed that you enroached on their territory (especially for anything related to weight training)... Once I moved away, I decided to try this gym and can honestly say I've never had that experience at the edge ... I feel confident and welcomed by their staff and the other gym goers, such a better experience than what I've encountered previously! Definitely a woman friendly gym, and the training classes gave me even more confidence that I belong :)

Nick Tulloch

Best gym in Fairfield county

kawaah mason

The people there always greet me as I walk in and tell me to have a good night as I leave. The workers there are helpful and classy. If you're looking for a gym where you can work out and feel comfortable The Edge of Fairfield is the place to workout

Jack B

Decent price and large space. My biggest complaint is with the giant TV in the main part of the gym that shows medical advertisements and other promotional ads. Super distracting while you're trying to run.

Garden Çotanak & Cafe & Yemek Evi

So my wife and I wanted to go work out today. We signed up at The Edge Fitness Club in Fairfield about 3 months ago. We had no problems until about 1 week ago when we kept getting stopped at the front desk after scanning my tag, asking me my number, my name, my email, my phone number. As a person who doesn't like to give out his personal information next to 10-20 people. I told the guy that they have out the picture and every other information about me on your computer. Everything was given during the sign-up process. Asking me to wait then asking me to give out personal information because my wife is a guest is uncalled for. We both work out every day, spending 2-3 minutes at the front desk while people just can and go is ridiculous. After that day they literally started picking on us every time we go in, giving us attitudes because we refuse to wait while they play around, I would just scan and work out. So the manager comes to me today while I am working out and tells me if I don't give my personal number or email at the front desk every time I come in. Even thou I pay, even though they have our picture and number, I would have to leave. They made me cancel my membership, I have about 20 days left, they will not refund me my money for whatever days I had left. Kyle Ferri needs to learn that the people and members of the gym are the ones who pay the bills. You cannot ask for peoples information out in a open public space. I will take legal action

Ashalee Ruiz

Always loved this gym, staff is great, my son loves going to the daycare provide and definitely love all the classes!

Ivette Rodriguez

Good service and great exercise machines to choose from.

Jon Thielen

I joined about 6 months ago when my wife told me I needed to slim down. I lacked the motivation at first, but reached out to one of the trainers, Kristyn, who really helped me get my act together. I'm there everyday now and Kristyn has done a terrific job of helping me out whenever she gets the chance.

kevin morales

DO NOT JOIN! Worst experience ever at the gym. People are very rude and show no respect. You also get looked at by members. The cancelation was very stressful. I had to call the bank and cancel incoming drafts from the gym. Join another gym around your area.

Ryan Davis

I've been going to the Edge in Fairfield for over 3 years. It's a great gym - very clean with all of the equipment you need. It can be crowded at times, but it's big enough that it never feels too crowded (except in January). It's open 24 hours Mon-Fri which is a great perk.

Tabitha Kay

Gym is always clean. I attend classes and the instructors are great. Trainers, wether at the front or training are attentive.

Adam Orloski

The Fairfield,CT gym I feel like they have out grown there space. No where to park and usually always waiting for everything. I've also noticed many Treadmills or Ellipticals broken for at least a week before being fixed. Which should be unacceptable since they don't have enough machines for the amount of people that go. Lets not forgot usually there isn't anywhere to stretch... I won't give it a 2 Star but I would give it a 2.5 if it let me.

Isabel Melean

There is a really rude employee here. When I signed up I was explicitly told I could share my membership with my brother because we pay the higher price. This employee did not let me used the facilities today because my name was not on the account. This was not what was initially told to me. I have the same last name as the person's membership and I am the only "guest" he couldnt come because he is injured. This gym is always crowded too so if you're looking for your space to workout good luck.

Rebecca O'Neill

The Edge Fitness Club has allowed me to discover a whole new, fit me! I am more motivated to go to a gym where I am constantly praised and supported for my fitness successes. The staff is always on hand when I need direction in my weight training. I am a proud member of The Edge Fitness and would recommend this gym without hesitstion.

Maggie Brown

The Edge tricks you into signing a contract and don't let you out of it. When I signed up I asked if I moved if I could cancel the membership and he said it would be no problem for moving out of CT. I moved to Philly and try to cancel my membership and they tell me theres an Edge in NJ 11 miles away so I can't cancel it! I consider this stealing from me. I live in the city I don't have a car and yet they still charge me because theres a gym in another state "close by". Don't join this gym unless you're positive you plan to stay for 2 years since they trick you into signing a longer contract and don't let you leave. Now I have to pay hundreds for a gym I won't go to. I've heard of similar stories, be careful when joining.

Tanya Srdanovic

been a member for over 15 years, unfortunately the newly expanded sites does not include good customer service from the desk and training staff. while this does not include every person, the majority of the staff are hardly friendly, helpful or make me feel welcome. Most days I'm rarely greeted with a hello or eye contact. Others who have attended for the same amount of years agree. the original edge always greeted you coming in and leaving, trainers always smiled and were helpful. I still love the locations, equipment, classes.

Jason Schneider

DO NOT JOIN. They lie and tell you it will be easy to quit, but today I spent an hour on the phone trying to leave with no success. I had to file a complaint with my bank and file for a stop payment. These people are scum.

Nicki Zeigler

Horrible staff that is dishonest with the guest and cancelation policy. Lies all around and crooks that will continue to take money out of your checking account without your consent. Thanks Edge!

steve rayho

Signed up for weekly trainer sessions when I joined. First trainer was ok and then was assigned to a second trainer. Second trainer was much better and provided me with excellent workout/training sessions.

Charlie Selden

Solid equipment range, however disorganized and and unhelpful employees. Overpriced and not worth the money at all. My reccomendation is to find another gym.

Loree Shine

join this gym and you will be there FOREVER!! don't waste your time. I've been trying to cancel due to a move to NY and they will not cancel..Horrible

Ct Terry

The training staff is energetic and the membership girl Becky is really helpful. She always smiles and motivates me to come in more

Diego M Lopez

Go LORD these facilities are great!

Anthony Giaimo

Best Gym East of the Mississippi...Plenty of machines, great staff, love the atmosphere!

Austin Bradley

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Gym equipment is in good shape. Ample parking and easily seen from street. Personal trainers are very knowledgeable and professional.

Nelson Santos

the worst gym ever , there is no space to work out, no equipment available , crowed very very crowed, and also is very very hard to cancel the contract, BE AWARE ON THE CONTRACT SIGN , they are very crowed and still asking to people to joint in, its so ridiculous. no parking available so many cars, stay away.

Catherine Walters

With fitness being so important in our lives, yes the gym is going to be very busy. I often try to go before work in the morning and I get use of lifting weights and using the machines. If people are going to be rude about the machines , you have to let them know they cannot behave as if they "own" the machine. The machines could be used in a rotation motion. All their buddies can't be hanging out using the machine as if they 'own' it. Being on the phone waiting to do the next set is unacceptable. They need to realize other people have a schedules and need to be told by other members that they need to remove themselves between sets ; as they should anyway , that's part of using the machine to stretch in-between sets. Not everyone has great customer service skills this is true. I have yet to encounter any issues with any of the staff. if you want to avoid any infections wipe off the machines before you use it and wipe it off afterwards. I do see many housekeepers wiping machines but the members themselves don't always do that, so your gonna have to take care of your own exposure by wiping down the machines before and after. Only thing I wish they had more yoga classes but that's just depends on the availability of staff.

Estela F

We have been trying to cancel my niece membership since she was here as an student and had to move out of that location and they make it a nightmare to cancel. Horrible service. I don't recommend to anybody to be part of a gym where they will do whatever they can to take your money even if you don live in the area anymore.

Gamal Osman

Always been a fan of the edge fitness clubs, love how they r always updated this one in particular with the latest gym equipments. Always clean, organized and 24/7!!

Connor Westerlund

Five Stars for Pedro Hernandez! His classes are great as well as his personal training. He always challenges me and pushes me to do more than I think I'm capable of, while still respecting injuries and other limitations. His demeanor is motivating without being intimidating. Pedro is very knowledgable in all areas of exercise and nutrition. I highly recommend him!

Patrick Sigurdsson

The Edge pressures people to work with a personal trainer, but if you have confidence in your own knowledge, it's also a great place to work independently, as their facilities and equipment are numerous, well tended, and high quality. I have a gym membership on Long Island that costs twice as much per month, and it seems like a joke compared to The Edge. These facilities are excellent, and there's no restriction on how often you can visit other locations in the chain. I started with Norwalk, but liked the size and hours better in Fairfield. It's open around the clock from 5:00AM Monday until 9:00PM Friday, plus weekends.

No Time2bperfect

I plan on joining after leaving planet fitness. I don't understand the billing issues. If you use a credit card, and you want to cancel, don't even go through the gym, just file a dispute with your credit card company and they can block and refund all charges. It's not that difficult. If you use anything other than a credit card such as a check card, you're an idiot.

George Vidalis

I've been using this club for 2 years, I think you guys are doing a great job, and at 5am still get a good morning and a friendly smile.

Nil Patel

Better than most chain gyms based on the equipment, sanitation, and staff.

Morgan Merriman

Although the gym is nice, the billing process is absurd. PLEASE DON'T IGNORE THIS REVIEW! I made that mistake and now I've been paying for my membership 6 months after moving all the way to Baltimore, Maryland. I have given them proof of insurance AND a medical bill and they still refuse to cancel my membership. Needless to say I am more that disgruntled. SERIOUSLY, be careful--they will totally bone you. When you go to all the gym for help, they will completely dismiss you and say that everything is handled through ABC Financial. It's unethical and crap customer service on both ends. I loved the gym and would love to give it a good review, but they're responsible for their customer service/care which apparently there is none.

Nisar Noori

Don't do contract with them first they r saying anytime you can cancel free but they rubed me 2 years

GG TIEP

The staff is seriously confrontational and hostile. They approach in an aggressive manner and then when you get upset they threaten to revoke ur membership. I had been a member for two years and went almost every day with my toddler. I had an issue with the child care manager who it was her first day and she confronted me and told me my son couldn't have his milk bottle after he had been drinking it their for two years. I said he would go to the infant room to drink it with the babies but she said bc he is 2 that he can't have it. This is not her choice to decide at what age. This is my choice as the parent. When I told her this she became hysterical and started to cry. I was then pulled of the treadmill by the GM Nick who berated me and yelled to get off the treadmill now!! we need to talk!!!! Your a problem!! You made her cry....I'm a problem? Honestly I have no idea why she cried but it's redicuulous that my child was treated so badly and that her crying as inappropriate as it was made Nick berate me and literally make me stand not in the office but escorted me to the middle of the staffed area and had another staffer stand over me hands crossed as if he were about to bounce me like at a night club. It was so unbelievable. If my husband were there that would have never happened bc no man would talk to a lady that way in front of another man. Nick is disrespectful and as the GM he should be more professional. Nick acted aggressively when nobody saw him at the treadmill. He's sneaky and he purposefully tried to humiliate me by confronting me in a specific area in front of his staff which was not inside an office or even by the treadmill Il never go back. Nobody cares about how your treated nobody said sorry nobody that works there that I have passed by for two years and smiled. Nobody cared that he treated me so badly. Not even the regional manager responded to my email to talk. I have it on video so I may just post it...

Dominico McIntosh

The facility is very nice. The staff is very knowledgable about nutrition and exercise science. I've had a positive experience and a great workout every time I have come here.

Meaghan Morelli

They’re running a scam. They tell you one thing to lock you into paying for a year and then they tell you another once they have your money. And when you try to discuss, Kyle Ferri in management ignores you.

gabriela lojac

When the membership passed a year, they charged me more money without notifying me. Then I decided to cancel 3 months later, after passed a month, I checked in my bank account that they charged me $ 49.99. Then I called them and they told me, "this is annual Fee” They never explained the details to me verbally about the cancellation costs or fees, when I canceled. For me it is an abuse, I am Hispanic, I do not speak well but I listen very well.

Andrew DeCoster

About a month ago, I moved from Stratford to Fairfield and requested to transfer my membership over from the Stratford location to the Fairfield location. I started using the Fairfield location, and was happy with my experience. The gym was well equipped, clean, and had open squat racks whenever I went. In almost every way it was identical to the Stratford location that I had previously attended. After a month of this, one of the employees notified me that my membership had never transferred, and that I was in fact still a member of the Stratford location (strange, as I had been checking in normally at the Fairfield location for the past month). When I informed them that I had already applied for a membership transfer, they informed me that they could not honor the old monthly rate, and would have to charge me over twice as much for the same service. When I asked why, they responded, "We just don't offer that rate in Fairfield." This strikes me as incredibly disingenuous because "The Edge" is marketed as a brand or chain, yet each location seems to operate and set prices completely individually. That's just not the way that these types of businesses should work. A Big Mac costs the same no matter what McDonalds you go to. It's a dishonest business practice, and if you are attracted by the flexibility inherent in joining a chain gym, you should think twice.

Alexander Campos

The contract explanation is terrible with Edge in general. They're in a rush to sign you up and take your money, but when you dont want to renew you have to call a 3rd party to cancel 30 days in advance otherwise you're responsible for upcoming payments. Edit: I called 8 months before my contract was over letting them I didnt want to renew. Nothing was mailed or emailed prior to my contract ending. Secondly I didn't cancel a contract, it was finished and I did not wish to renew. There's a difference.

Grant Smith

Beautiful location-very clean-good parking-convenient location-gentlemen working the front desk on Tuesday 6/19 in the early morning is extremely professional, helpful, and very friendly. He is awesome. Excellent location!

Sara Steinagel

The facility is very clean and the entire staff are friendly and helpful! I personally Enjoy participating in workout classes versus self-initiated exercises. The instructors are well educated and modify exercises, as necessary, on an individual basis. I would recommend this facility to anyone!

Pete Polyakov

If there would be an option to use 0 stars, I would. About 16 months ago I signed for EDGE my whole family in hope that all of them would go to the gym. After a month, I released that nobody would go (except myself) so, I went there and asked them to cancel their memberships because they would never go (they never even step a foot into their door) and keep mine. The manager told me they will cancel but they will charge me for the whole year for all of them which would be a good ~$1700. I said, nobody went to your gym, nobody will. So this service never was delivered. How can you charge me for the services that you would never deliver? I don't ask for a refund for the past month but I wouldn't want to be charged for the year upfront for something that wouldn't be delivered. They didn't care. They said wait a year to close your account. I said in my mind, alright, I never felt such a strong feelings to some corporation but maybe someone would go eventually. Obviously nobody did. it's about 16 months already and my account still getting charged and they're giving me a hard time to cancel their accounts. if you're not sure about going to this gym (and God bless you if you sign someone else) make sure that you're really wanna do it. If not, don't even try. This is the worst experience for almost 40 years. DO NOT go :) Planet fitness next door has their cancel policies too, but it's just $50. Which is okay comparing to these EDGE mobsters who never even seen one I think. Btw, all the classes booked weeks upfront. So that "premium" membership is bs.

Dirty South

Their contract and billing are the worst in the industry and their sales staff are trained to trick people into signing without full reading the contract. If you have a problem, they reference you to the billing company who then references you back to the gym and you never get anyone with an answer. Not sure? Go check out their Better Business Bureau rating. Failing. And all these responses about trying to make it right? I've tried it twice. You will NEVER get a response. This company is little more than crooks with some dumbbells.

Personal Training is top notch! Kristyn was super motivating and kept me going whether I was training for a 1/2 marathon or just trying to reduce my inches and improve strength!

Great people, great service, great club

Not enough machines: If I could get on the machines I wanted without waiting 15 minutes or more, perhaps I would still be a client. Classes were also over crowded. For that of service, I wouldn't pay more than 9.95/month.

Josh Abbott

Raised the guest rates to 15 per visit and bring a guest free on Friday now seems non-existent. Out of state guests are apparently unwelcome now. Couldn't even make a concession 1 hour before close on a Friday. Gym is always packed and very difficult to get on any machines anyway. I think it's about time for me to cancel and go for a better gym.

I’ve been going to the edge since 2011. I’m a big fan of the fairfield one because of its convenience (hours and geographically) and the high ceilings. One of a few minor criticisms is that your people at the front really can’t be closing the Shake station almost half an hour before you close. That’s part of what I pay this membership for. Honestly, super annoyed at the lady who’s working the front right now (Saturday 6:30pm). I know a shift supervisor in Milford, Dion Ojoe; who always goes above and beyond for his members, even to the last minute.

kam chaudhry

Difficult to use squat racks/free bars for squats and dead lifts because there’s only 4 of them and always have people using them for durations of 30+ mins

See your Reviews are very bad I gets I will not be signing up here at all

Bre Martin

Good gym. Decent prices. Love the classes

I signed up for membership after I got a free week. They were nice and helpfull and still are. I have had no issues with the edge in Fairfield

BE CAREFUL before you enter into a contract with The Edge! This is a terrible company to deal with when there is a problem. In summary, my wife had a two year contract . Her monthly payment was on auto debit. The Edge had a billing snafu and started charging my credit card. We think this occurred after she used my CC for the child care one day and somehow they retained my card and started charging it in error. This went on unnoticed for 3 months before I saw the charges. I thought this was fraud and called the CC co to dipute it. I received an immediate credit from the CC company. The Edge in turn discontinued my wife's membership . When she figured out the priblem and called to pay the past due amount they told her she needed to pay a "Forgiveness" fee of $49 plus the past due monthly charges. My wife explained that it was their error, not hers, but they wouldn't take any responsibility for the mistake. THIS IS SHAMEFUL! They couldn't care less about whether she stayed on as a customer.

I joined the fitness edge about a year ago. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Gym equipment is in good shape. Ample parking and easily seen from street. Personal trainers are very knowledgeable and professional.

Laura Brunetto

So crowded all the time! Most days after work I have trouble finding parking which is a big hassel and makes me less motivated to go to the gym. Also the group classes are not as intense or as fun as other gyms I've been to. Very boring classes. Also it is very hard to quit this gym because they have so many hidden fees. Bad experience. Also BEWARE of quitting this gym. They do not let you quit on the spot they make you call their billing company that takes forever to get to a real person and then you can only quit in writing meaning you have to send in a certified letter and wait 30 days, being responsible for paying another month of membership.

My wife and I have been members for a few months. When we first joined I signed up for the training sessions witch were fairly decent. My training ended in December 2015 due to me having to leave the country. I canceled my training subscription in December 2015. February 2016 My wife's credit card was charged for my training sessions that I did not attend and she also did not authorize payments for my training sessions. Isn't this illegal? Apparently when I canceled two sessions due to me being sick the trainer did not put it in the system. Then rescheduled me for the two sessions so it looked like I had extra sessions witch isn't correct. The fitness manager refused to give me a refund and the general manager have not been returning my calls or my messages. It's really disappointing when your gym does this to you. If I wasn't locked in a contract I would not have wasted time finding another gym. Update: My billing issue was resolved.

Eileen Carlson

It took a lot for me to return to The Edge after the problems I’ve have had in the past. I should have walked out when I was told I couldn’t get two months free as advertised because I signed up at the end of July not the beginning. When I said I would wait for another offer, I was told I would have to wait a year because two months only came around once per year. TWO DAYS later, I see an ad for two free months come across my feed. So typical of their unethical, sneaky practices. On top of that, when I called to cancel my start up appointment, the desk guy I spoke with did not cancel the appointment and the trainer called looking for me. I so regret joining again-the year can’t pass fast enough.

Eric Felipe

Too crowded. Machines are always taken,

George Coleman

Gym ok but DO NOT join. You cannot resign. You will get nickel and dimed to death. Who ever heard of having to send a CERTIFIED Letter to resign. Plus ABC financial who has your credit card data will find all kinds of crazy fees. I am reaching out to the Attorney General to report these business practices.

Tony Feliz

It's alright, the gym is great but i find most of the staff lazy and coming from a Fitness Industry guru like me. The housekeeping girl pays more attention to us than the trainers lol.

Ira Wise

I usually go the the Fairfield site and it is awesome. Kristyn Imdorf is a wonderful trainer! A great benefit is being able to use any of the other sites if my schedule takes me away from Fairfield!

Amy Leigh

Classes are adequate and the equipment is good but the staff are unbelievably rude!!! Absent a better place I keep going but mediocre at BEST!

Meghan Donnelly

The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. Love this club!

D Neuwirth

user beware! Many people have developed staph infections here and the management doesn't do anything about it. Adding insult to injury the manager Rob suggested that it was impossible that me and 3 other members could've contacted our infections at the club

Derron Simmonds

Coming over from years of membership at Planet Fitness, this gym has everything I need to maintain my fitness programs. Free weights! Which PF Trumbull took out of their gym was the clincher for me. Friendly staff, which is expected...classes, 2 separate trainer rooms/studios. And the freshly made protein shakes are things I didn't have at my prior gym. Overall I haven't seen anything I can say worries me. Its a pretty chill place to go workout at.

Nelson Febus

It's a great place to have your teen daughter sexually harassed, and it's a great place to work if you don't mind the drug deals all around, I saw drugs being sold practically out in the open. I don't know if it was cocaine or steroids or what. I reported it to the manager which turns out was involved. So please stay away if you value your safety and money! The quality is terrible!!!!!!!!!!

Alejandro Gonzalez Jones

I've experienced very hostile staff.....After several negative experiences, I'm choosing to withdraw my membership. Would not recommend

Dominic Siano

Great facility... but way overcrowded and no parking or machine (or workout) on peak times.

Shane E

The staff here is a hit or miss. when you try to buy shakes the workers are busy talking to their friends who are not even buying shakes. I refuse to spend a dime more at this place after bad customer service. The guy who works Early morning at 5 am is always half a sleep. If you hate your job or can't stay awake you should not be working.

Sadaf Assani

Do not join edge fitness if you think you're going to move. It's a pain to cancel membership even when you show proof that you're moving away. They make it look like a cheap gym but its a trick how they charge you money few months after you join and make it so difficult for you to cancel membership. You have to send a proof to an outside company and they take over a month to process so basically you're paying till they process. I have wasted more money on this gym thinking it doesn't cost too much than I would've in another gym. Ridiculowus! And there's no way for you to speak to edge fitness about it because they don't discuss finances.

Anton Mgushi

This place sucks at peak times, basically the only time you can go is the time the gym is too busy. Get motivated and hyped up for no reason because you go there and cant find parking anywhere. Very annoying, just turn back around and go home. Looking at other alternatives and join other gym facilities. Those classes that they do should be in a different location. Bottom line... its packed, and it sucks, if you actually make it inside, you cant get a workout. Might as well start walking around and chatting like many do.

Tommy T

The Edge is about as standard as it gets for big corporate gyms. The 45 lb plates weigh 45 lbs, the 90 lb Dumbbells weigh 90 lbs; there's 700 cardio machines and every standard life fitness machine that's in any gym. A lot of the people who go to this gym are fairly nice; and the % self absorbed men and women taking selfies is generally lower than some other gyms. The personal training staff, as is tradition, is a complete JOKE. Most of their resumes include bullet points such as "great attitude towards fitness and nutrition, DotFit Certified, played high school football" rather than "BS in Sports Medicine with 4+ years training X athletes, NASM/NSCA certificate etc." No, their trainers (some are NASM) have DotFit which is a silly business that has stake in Crunch, the Edge, LA Fitness and a few other gyms... DotFit takes about 25-30 minutes to complete and is essentially a power point and somehow many of them manage to be very very very chubby and completely incapable of demonstrating their clients proper form. in conclusion, it's cheap and convenient. The weights weigh what they should, it's very clean, and some of the locals who go there are pleasant folks. The trainer staff is criminally abysmal, but that's the same at all corporate gyms and generally how it is in the fitness profession. For the price it's convenient and clean, end of story. If you expect more than that, or to be trained, look elsewhere.

I joined a few years ago after Fitness 4K shut down. L.A. is closer to me, but didn't like the atmosphere or equipment. The $15 "purple" chain is a joke. So unless you're looking to spend huge on a boutique or semi-private gym (or need access to a nationwide network for frequent travel), Edge is the best choice around. Other members are friendly, are there to work out, with minimal meathead roid vibe. (I should say that my prejudice favors a large selection of free weights, benches, racks, because that's what I use. I've never done a single group class, and think tanning is... unwise, but nice that they're included.) The cons: Yes, can be crowded at peak times, but learn to work with/around others or during off-peak hours and you'll be fine. It's not your private gym, after all. Maintenance is a bit lax. It's super annoying to hunt for another open cable station for want of a $10 snap shackle, for example. They don't allow chalk. In a gym. With barbells. Where members come to lift. Yes, can sneak it in if you're discreet and don't make a mess, but it's a silly policy nonetheless (though not nearly as silly as that purple gym's deadlift moratorium).

Vincent Campbell

Has all the equipment you can think of, clean friendly service for a good price.

Brian J

Clean facilities, classes offered and it's newly renovated so it's nice. But Fairfield needs to take a class from Milford as far as customer service. Last month I was greeted by the Fairfield Edge staff ONCE when I arrived and not once has anyone said goodbye or have a good day when I left. In Milford they greet me every day I go, some staff know me by name, some ask what body part I'm training and when I leave it's either have a good day or see you next time. It may night seem like a big deal to some but going to the gym can be intimidating and being greeted by staff rather than being ignored makes a difference

Brian Kearney

This gym is very busy and big but has everything one would need to have a great workout. It is a clean facility as well!
