This Gym is classified in the category of Gym.
This Fort Carson Gym has everything from weight lifting to basketball courts, rock climbing and an indoor pool. This is one of the best gyms on an Army Base that I have ever seen! Have fun getting your workout in!
Excellent gym facility
Best gym on post
Truly an amazing place a lot better than when I was in
Awesome staff! Thanks for keeping the gy. Clean and neat.
This gym tho. I wish all military gyms were this equipped. Indoor track, basketball court, 2 mpr’s, pools, nice weight room with four squat racks and 2 assisted, and a rock climbing wall! There are also classes. The multipurpose rooms have everything you need from kettlebells to all kinds of equipment for CrossFit like workouts. The only down side is that everyone knows about this gym so it’s packed during peak hours. I find it emptier after 9 and after 12. I dunno about the weekend. love this gym.
Best gym on post
Awesome facilities. Clean equipment. Overall great experience. Going to be my regular gym for sure.
Love this pool!!!
Excellent
super clean. great amenities....the cleaning lady will leave the cleaning caddy in the middle of the walk way and clean equipment while u are on it. but other then her it's a great place
Beautiful gym. Can get pretty busy
Clean gym. Nice sauna. Friendly staff.
Parked and busy you just have to know what times to go for your workout.
Layout is not functional, equipment is lacking
Gym has everything.. but overwhelmingy a machine based main workout area. Not a great free weight or hardcore type gym.
Love going swimming here! Kept very clean!! Large variety of work out equipment!
Likely one the best training gym in the state of Colorado. It has world class swimming pool, full regulation basketball court, indoor tennis courts, weights and more weights of all kind. Indoor rock climbing, indoor quart-mile track and more.
Everything you need to be your best fit
The masterpiece of all the gyms in Colorado Springs. Make the military proud.
Not the best kept, but certainly not the worst. However, I can't get over the camera in the locker room. They say it's only for viewing the hot tub. However, it's a pan-tilt-zoom camera, so it can look wherever the operator wants. If I can see it from the shower, it can see me.
Wonderful fitness center, now if only the housekeeping staff would do their job! Showers and hot tubs are lacking. Leave your valuables in your car, many lockers won't lock. Lifeguards are good but at times they seem more interested in their cell phone
This place is state of the art. Loved the options.indoors track, spinbikes with power meter a triathlete dream.
It's a really nice gym with an indoor track on the second floor and a sauna in the changing rooms. It is very crowded and really clean. The workers are nice and polite. But I felt a little out of place because it's mainly filled with people who are already in shape and fit, so since I am not, I just felt like some people were staring. So if you are over weight and a little insecure about it then this gym is not for you.
Not so good on free weights but plenty of cardio equipment, an indoor track, indoor pool and lots of classes offered
Great place to swimming and work out at
Cardiovascular equipment is lacking
Solid equipments but way to crowded during morning and afternoons, whuch impedes workout. Way too many gawkers and stand/watchers. Solid pool and lap swimming though. Well cared for and clean throughout.
Not much free weight selection
Ok
I'm giving this low rating based on the quality of the weight room. Typical Army Rec Center. Crowded and weights never organized. Only real annoying thing is the patrons. Too many wannabe bodybuilders/power-lifters who has no sense of courtesy and like to use up equipment when they don't need it. For example, using benches as tables.
Small, weights are scattered, and not enough equipment...but looks clean
Staff needs to step up. Dangerously, patrons take bags into crowded workout areas and precariously balance weight bars and plates vertically. Inappropriately, they simultaneously hog multiple machines, benches and dumbbells.
It's a ok place it's always full
Always crowded around the free weights.
Very nice, well kept facility
I was like a kid in the candy store. I actually did cardio on the stairmaster and recumbent bike. I look forward to making some serious gains here and gaining my youth back.
Weight area is usually crowded due to confined space. If they had a larger free weight area, I'd give it 5 stars. I pretty much can only ever use machines because every free weight device is occupied, and I only go when it's not very busy. They have several huge rooms upstairs for aerobics which are never full. They could easily change one into a free weight area and It would improve the place 100%.
Love, love, love the acquatic center here! The zero entry family pool is so great for my toddler. Always a great time when we go.
Love everything here, from the gym equipment to the rock climbing wall and the pool. The sauna is also great, so is the hot tub.
Excellent Gym
Always something to do. Many different workout events. Staff is always friendly and knows how to direct you to the proper place for additional information.
Likely one of the best gym's in the entire state of Colorado.
Great facility
Great family gym, not so great to beast mode and lift due to limited amount of lifting equipment. Amazing indoor pool and indoor track! Extremely clean! Huge shower area and plenty of courts.
Excellent facilities
Very crowded after 5
Great places to takes the kids for the pool. Water is nice all year around. Free for military service and 3 dollars per family member. Also has a sauna.
Very clean gym with lots of equipment, track and helpful staff. Very clean.
Bug gym, does get crowded, especially in winter because, it is a military base.
Nice indoor pool. Only complaint is the blonde lady at the front desk wouldnt let me take my son who is 6 years old with me through the womens locker room to get to the pool. Said he needed a chaperone. He is tall so I get maybe she thought he was older but when I told her how old he was she said No because women are full on nude in the locker rooms and have complained. Well if you are walking around in the locker rooms naked then you shouldnt care who is looking at you especially a little kid. Put some clothes on or go to the large bathroom stall. Get over yourself. He is a little kid that is not even aware of whatever it is you are worried about. There are sick ppl in the world. He could get kidnapped, molested, raped all kinds of things. Just because we are in base doesnt mean that cant happen. No one ever showed up to walk him through by the way. I was thankful another friend was bringing her 12 year old son so he would have someone to go with him. If you have a problem with kids going into locker rooms with their parents fix the family rooms in the hallway that has been under construction for like 4 years already. The end.
Great gym great equipment and diversity of recreational activities.
First time here while TDY. Brand new. Nice layout. Close to the on base hotel
Typically busy, but lots of tools to work with
Goid physical fitness center with multiple activities.
Excellent. Wide range of equipment and workout options. You have to be in uniform or have a military ID to gain access.
Nice fitness center but the manager does not inform front desk well. I use the pool and sometimes I have to sign in front desk or I don't just check in pool. So a bit headache not knowing if I will sign in or not. Pool is starting to get crowded so not enough lanes. Need to build another pool maybe add-on to another gym. Parking is also full many times.
Weight room area is lacking space. Building is aesthetically pleasing, but this gym is more eye candy and cardio equipment than anything else. The pool is real nice though.
One of best gyms on post
Great gym! Love going there. Can be a little too packed at times.
Best decision ever!
They never answer the phone and I hate the fact that your back is facing the whole gym while on the treadmill.
Good
Great atmosphere with lots of work out equipment
Great gym with great hours. Has a pool as well!
Best physical fitness center in the Army!
Military Meatheads Inc.
Great gym, whenever I am on Fort Carson I had over here for a workout
Modern equipment, open during bad weather
Nice
Lots of workout equipment and the place is spacious enough to accommodate.
Full gym, basketball courts, indoor track, lap pool and kids pool, cardio room.
Good service and good equipment
Your ALL IN ONE GYM! sauna, whirlpool, pool with high dive, racket ball, tennis, massage, along with your exercise equipment. Small cafe, Wi-Fi, & maThe best gym I've been to!!! Definitely recommend!!!!
Really good equipment and employees, weight room is lacking space.
Excellent gym for military service members and their families. It also has a rockwall, lap pool and kiddie pool.
They have one of the tallest climbing hall I ever try.
Definitely the family gym for fort Carson. Lacks weights and machines
A place to be
It's a great gym!
I love the pool here. It was 90 some degrees out and we wanted to go swim however we had a bunch of little humans with us. The out door pool on pist was ok but any part of you out of the water froze just cause of the wind because of this we checked out the indoor pool so glad we did. The indoor pool was much bigger had life jackets you could use for the little humans if you didn't have one. Plus the kids loved the slides and my husband loved the high dive.
I was visiting family and we visited this facility, mainly to go swimming. The swimming facility is dated but there's plenty of water and it sure felt good! Walking out is when I noticed the "gym" part of the facility and I was amazed at the first class opportunities for a workout -- wall climbing, racquetball, treadmills, weights, etc. The Service men, women, and families deserve nothing less!
The Rockwall is amazing and they installed auto belay devices.
Great place to workout!!!
A little packed but not to bad
My daughter & I used to go here all the time. Clean, friendly staff, and when the instructors showed up .....great yoga.
Facility is beautiful! I do not have a lot of complaints-in fact, I do not think I have any complaints! Great, spacious, and encouraging environment!
Awesome gym! Staff is friendly and courteous. Came here last year to get a membership and I was delighted to find out that it was free! Signed up on the spot, but I neglected to read the fine print. Now I have people waking me up at 0500 for mandatory CrossFit sessions along with various other aerobic activities. Lots of yelling and running around, but it's really a great weight loss program. They actually pay me! Not sure if they caught on to their error yet or not. Apparently I'm getting ready to "deploy" which, to my best understanding means they will be sending me on a nine month paid vacation to go overseas to another fitness center and continue physical training. Well, I better get back to work. I'm on a water break in the middle of some intense "Up, Down, Go's" and motivational yelling after asking my platoon sergeant if he had any chem light batteries or "pricky-7s."
Very nice gym but very busy during peak times
Awesome
Awesome gym, with very friendly staff. All the equipment you could need, especially good for beginners. And they’ve got a pool, hot tub, and sauna. Lots of cool classes too.
A lot of different activities
It's a gorgeous gym and it's the gym that stays open the longest. Unfortunately, the freeweight area is extremely small and becomes overcrowded easily. On the plus side, it has activities the other gyms don't offer. An indoor track, a pool, basketball court, and ping pong tables, etc.
Always fun and very nice people.
Gym was amazing
Wonderful facility that accommodates diverse utility. Clean, modern, and exceptional staff!
I am here every day. Best place on fort Carson to get it done
Gym
Great $3 fitness classes
Everything is new. Not a lot of free weights. But very nice and clean.
Good place, just wish they had an area for older kids to roughhouse in the pool. They are sent to the toddler and kid area and my kids have been hit on multiple occasions by hard toys and splashed in their face and even hit by flailing limbs. Please fix this issue.
This location is very clean, great selection of work out equipment positive people and atmosphere.
Great facility with lots of equipment and short wait times.
It has everything I need: Pool, track, rock wall (auto belays) and most importantly, weights.
Good facilities, can get crowded during PT hours in the morning
Can I suggest opening windows or doors in pool area? The smell of chemicals is super!! Strong gives my family headaches and when we leave are throats are killing us!!
Do you want abs like Justin Bieber when he didn't have tats but still want to be able to kill people with the wind from your roundhouse kick like Chuck Norris? Then you should go here. A lot. Probably a lot more than I do...
This gym is loaded with goodies. U should be abnle get access to whatever ur fitness needs maybe.
Clean and has plenty of equipment. But I, along with many others wish that there was a child care, for the many families here who do not have family or trustworthy friends. You would think a gym on a military base would be willing to accommodate for the spouses who stay home with their kids.
Staff are nice facilities are well maintained and clean prices are fair and affordable.
Aweome place. Swim, workout, sauna, hot tub etc. Shower hair dryers
Iron Horse Physical Fitness is very well maintained. It has and indoor swimming pool that is free for active duty members. All other have to pay for the use. It does have a kids section with a fountain, it has two tiers of jumping boards, an designated laps runs. The equipment is very modern, they have free style and cable weights. A wall for climbing, indoor basketball ball, small indoor track, several designated rooms for different specific exercises, classes for a small fee. Racquetball, hot tub, sauna room (not coed). Bottom line, you should take 30 minutes of your time to go and get a feel for yourself, see if you feel comfortable there. Best part is that there is not a "grunt alarm"!
Various emenities to get fit
As a significant other I don't like going here. I feel stared at and judged. I'd rather pay for a membership than go on base to work out
Great family spot for swimming. High dive, low dive, kid pool and lap swim. Military, spouses and family
Limited equipment
It's a newer facility, avoid going after 4:30 because is always packed and not personal space to work out. The pool is huge and they have lifeguards on duty.
Brand new gym. It's very nice and has a indoor 2mile track
Really clean and has all of the right equipment
Always the ability get on equipment without too much hassle. Nice facility!
Nice place to go.
Discrimitory.. there are no signs that say you can’t go to certain areas with strollers- we were told as soon as we were about to go up that “strollers aren’t allowed after 3” but there’s only a sign that says that for the TRACK. They said they “don’t have a specific SOP but it’s a safety hazard because there’s weights and stuff” but we were allowed to chill around the bench pressing area. We read the ACTUAL rules- the only rule they have states children under a certain age cannot PARTICIPATE. There were no issues yesterday when we went so whoever was on shift this time needs to learn about legalities. The only area they have for families with kids is a tiny corner with only cardio equipment- will be filing an ICE complaint for discrimination.
I like going here especially when it's not peak hours. Lots of machines and the track is really nice.
For the crossfitter, bodybuilder, powerlifter, sports fan, cardio nut, or just the occasional gym-goer. Whatever your goal, you can get closer to it here.
Best gym in Fort Carson! By far!
Weights are not reracked after use
Weight area is terrible. No room for all the equipment, when you throw people into the mix it's almost impossible for people to not be in each other's way. Nice facility, but very poorly arranged.
Nice brand new gym. Lot's of area's not purely focused on weights. Indoor track, TRX facility, pool, basketball court etc. It can get packed though
Nice place with the indoor pool
Small weight room area
This is an amazing gym, I would recommend it to anyone! The basic equipment is all there, some are unique. And sometimes you just have to look around a bit, there will be something for your personal workout. Minor problem: This place is amazing, love everything about it EXCEPT the the weight room, don’t get me wrong, I love it, but it just seems too small. The gym itself is ~2.5x larger than the weight room, and there is a bunch of areas that are rarely used, and people seems to be having a bit of a problem getting around. This is just a personal opinion but I would love a bigger space with more equipment (which I doubt will happen, not going to lie).
Wieghts, cardio, indoor track, pool bb court, and racket ball court. What more can you ask for
Nice staff and equipment, the odds are the small weight are but everything else is just great, Nice swimming pool, indoors running track, wall climbing, etc. Overall Great place to work out.
Always clean and taken care for but lots of people. I think they need to expand
Very clean place and friendly evironment I highy recommend this Gym.
Amazing gym! The pool is heated and the life guards are always friendly!
We go to this gym to let the toddlers swim in the walk in kiddie pool. We love it most times, but the last two times we had to pay $3 per spouse just to go in and make sure our children don’t drown (it’s not like we adults can swim in 3ft), and it was so cold our children were shaking so we had to leave and wasted $3, which isn’t a lot, but for what you’re doing and getting, this should be free to soldiers spouses and their kids. And warm the dang pool please if you’re going to charge us!!
Good variety and plenty of space and machines
Great gym on post
Often crowded during peaks hours but reasonable
Clean facility with new upgraded showers
Great place, has every piece of equipment you can think of.
Really nice gym and staff however the weight section is really lacking. It's a large gym, but probably only 15-20% is dedicated to lifting. Weight area gets crowded quickly
4 stars because it's free for ID card holders so I don't want to be too judgemental lol. And I love the pool (not free) Equipment is good, but many times the gym is super packed and things get really tight.
Love the pool
Glad to see their replacing the treadmills.
Really nice place. The only downside is how cramped it can be in there.
Love it !!!
