I have been training under Hanshi Eric LaLone for 12 years now along with my son who was 6 when we started. In that time we have changed physically and mentally for the better. Eric and his family are exactly that, FAMILY. They contribute to the community, they are always there for those in need, and are some of the most honest and friendly martial artists you'll find. The programs are of the highest quality, whether you are looking for self-defense street tactics, competition fight training, fitness that is fun and never boring or even weapons training including proper handling and firearm safety, you can ask for no better all encompassing school. His ability to train youth is incomparable, and I had my son in multiple schools locally before finding Eric and Empower, so I can give an honest assessment. The facility is always clean, the students are respectful and helpful, the location is a short distance from anywhere in the springs......what more can I say! Top pick in Colorado Springs for sure!

They will con you out of your money. The instructor will let teenage children tech classes you will not get what you pay for from this training facility. The floors are dirty the whole place is dirty. She yourself the money and go somewhere else.

I have been training with Hanshi Eric Lalone for over 20 years. He is one of the best all-around instructors I know. Eric not only trains in sport fighting, he prepares you for the street which is by far the most important part of the program, and your safety. He takes and experienced fighters, and he also trains people with no training at all. I would highly recommend the Empower program, I have trained there, and I know many other people who have as well.

I first met Sensei Lalone in 2004 when I enrolled my oldest daughter in the children's program. Sensei Lalone was a passionate teacher who invested himself in the success and personal development of each of his students. You can pay someone to teach your child , but you can't pay them to care. Fast forward quite a few years. I decided to make a go of learning to properly defend myself. That is when I heard that Sensei Lalone was opening his own school. So, in spite of the fact that I was anxious to begin and in spite of numerous other possible training opportunities. I waited for nearly a year for HIS school to open. Why? Because it was worth the wait. He pays attention to your individual strengths and weaknesses in self defense and fitness. He does not coddle those weaknesses. He trains you to overcome them. He will explain, explain and explain again, until you understand. His system is fluid and adaptive. The atmosphere is collaborative and open....learning is emphasized and encouraged. You could not spend your time or money in a better place.

What I found was a system that includes so much that I truly believe my children our getting more than I aniticaped. I have been a student here since February. I was very nervous to begin but as soon as I stepped foot in the gym I have always felt welcome. The environment of the gym is always positive. I have been encouraged, challenged, and taught so many valuable lessons. My self-esteem and confidence have grown leaps and bounds. You won't find a more patient instructor who allows you to process each lesson taught. My son loves coming here and Eric, his family, and his facility are amazing. Justin has learned so much and is very disciplined. He has been in many of Eric's movie camps and always loves going to the movie premiers. Eric is a wonderful teacher and he's great with kids. They really have become a part of our family!

Great Place to train in Martial Arts! I have been training with Eric since 2005. I started off just doing the cardio kickboxing class for a great workout and have now earned my 2nd degree black belt through the adult Bushido Sei Shin Jitsu program. I currently hold a undefeated record in Amature Kickboxing as well because of the training I have recieved. My daughter is following in my footsteps at 9 years old and currently training at Empower to eventually compete as well. If your are looking for a workout like you have never experienced before that gives you cardio, core and resistance all in one, looking to compete or a place to learn self defense Empower Training Center is the place to be.

Though I have not been to this training center I can personally vouch for Sensei Eric LaLone's credentials as an Instructor of Martial Art's and Self Offense. Training with Sensei Eric will be a grueling, informative, active, and most importantly enjoyable experience. I'm not much of a tough guy but classes where I took beatings(Not by Sensei Eric) were still tons of fun. I've moved away from Colorado many years ago for work, I miss those old days. Training with Shihan John Petrone and Sensei Eric LaLone are some of the fondest memories I have of my time there. If you train with Sensei Eric you will get your $$$ worth in quality of instruction and genuine appreciation for anyone who wants to train on his mat.
