High recommend this to others-although a little more expensive it is really effective. Within a few weeks my wife was mentioning how she could see a definite change in my muscle tone and how I felt different when she hugged me. I did the initial Elements course that I got off Groupon continued with a one month membership. I had to stop for personal reasons-NOT because of dissatisfaction with the crossfit. I would like to have continued. All the coaches/trainers were very friendly and helpful. I was reluctant to go initially. I was out of shape and I had this preconceived idea of being intimidated by these over zealous fitness fanatics pushing me way past my comfort level. This was not the case at all. The coaches were very attentive and helpful during the workouts. The participating members had varying levels of ability and the workouts were adjusted to meet everyone's level. I felt guilty during the workouts as the coaches had to spend a little more time with me since I was new and unfamiliar with the program. However, the other members were supportive and were always cheering me on as I was usually the last to finish the workout. I mainly did the 6 AM workouts and really liked attending the Tuesday/Thursday workouts with Jeff. All the 6 AM coaches were great. Chris was the Elements instructor and he was helpful and friendly as well. Also, the fees were pretty straight forward and cancelling the membership was really easy. I have had experience with other gyms that tack on extra application fees and require extra effort when you try to cancel your membership. For Crossfit West it was easy to sign up to pay a monthly membership fee and cancelling involved a simple email. Two other gyms I have had memberships with in Santa Cruz have not been so easy.

I dropped in for the open 18.2 workout with my fiancee. Very friendly staff and great infrastructure. Special thanks to Kristen that set us up the day before and Sean who helped us to warm-up and get us prepared for the workout!! Super knowledgeable and friendly staff, will definitely come by again next time we're in Santa Cruz!
