I was supposed to get a free two-week trial. And since my son worked at Amazon they were only going to charge me $54. After the 2-week trial my son decided not to go because they end up charging me $85 and they refused to refund me my money. The person who sign me up for the trial name was Graham at the beginning he emailed me about joining and then after I asked him about being charged $85 for my credit card he refused to answer my emails. I even went to the gym where my son was going and they told me that they could not take my credit card information off the account and I was still going to be charged this month for the account if anyone has any information on how I can get a refund for the $85 they charge me please let me know because they were not very helpful they just wanted to get me to open up a gym membership

I was asked to complete a survey, was sent an email from sarah Magnusson. She sent me an email wanting to discuss my comments. Have called and emailed her for nearly a week without being able to make contact. Very poor follow up on her part. You need to hire managers that care about the folks paying your wages.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I could recommend several good books on how to achieve excellent customer service but I'm sure they would not read them. They do not care one bit about taking care of customers, or potential customers. When you call or inquire about speaking to one's supervisor everyone goes dumb. We have talked to two General Managers, called the corporate office, left messages with no return call, even chatted on Facebook and because I won't go into specifics they won't answer my basic questions on if someone is there to take a call. Looks like 24hr Fitness gets my business. BEWARE. If I could give a zero I would.

Hi, I am a member of midtown calfit California. . I am very dissatisfied with the customer service that I was provided . At first I wanted to try out the gym and see if I would want to join or not. I was very clear that I only wanted a trial. I was talked into joining a yearly contract and was informed that I could cancel within 1 week of joining with no issues. During that week I went to customer service and asked to cancel. They asked me to continue my trial and they can switch it to a monthly contract. I took their word on an honorary system and agreed to their preposition. This was several months ago, and unfortunately my membership was never switched to a monthly contract. I have passed by the gym and spoken to customer service at least 5 times to deal with this issue and nothing was ever done. I was always given an excuse that the person responsible is not there or that person never followed up. In addition to my visits I have also called over the phone multiple times with no resolution of my issue. At one point one of the employees at Cal Fit felt sorry for how I was treated and informed me to go through the corporate official complaint venue. In addition to this very frustrating issue, I was charged more on my account that what should have been charged. I was informed that as a UCDavis employee I would pay a certain amount but I was charged more. When I went to the club to inquire about this issue, I was told it was a mistake and we will try to correct it.This was never corrected. Unfortunately my membership was dealt with in a very unprofessional way and I would like to END my membership immediately. Cal Fit is supposed to have a good reputation but unfortunately I am very disappointed with the service I have received.

Ok, so this is very suspicious! I left a review last night regarding an awful phone call experience with a head Manager within the Corporate office about an attempted theft inside the Laguna gym, the review is not showing up! This truly makes me believe that my gut feelings about a hush policy regarding the amount of theft going on is true!! The female Manager that returned my call seemed hell bent on getting the employee's name/ description that shared with us that we we're the 11th left that had occurred in 1 week, as well as blaming my husband for the situation. I am working diligently on obtaining contact information for the owners of Cal Fam Fit!!!!!!!!! I will also continue to post this if it continues to be removed!!!!!!!!

California Family Fitness double charged us..it has taken 19 phones calls + 4 managers + 3 calls to Corporate Office and still NOT RESOLVED. $75 Was supposed to be credited 10 days ago... hasn't shown up yet. NOT THE FIRST TIME... WILL BE THE LAST TIME!!

Nobody EVER picks up the phone. Nobody EVER returns calls. How disrespectful! I've called there NUMEROUS times and haven't had any luck! Disappointing

Thanks to Cyrus Mitchell I was deceived and charged 3x more than what was discussed over the phone. I can’t stand these facilities conniving lying people, ended up losing out on $200+ so if you’re planning on going to any of these locations think twice.

1. This fitness very often closes the spa, "supposedly for repairs" 2. Very dirty in the dressing room in the pool in the shower and toilet 3. The schedule of this fitness is inconvenient on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Their mission statement is “To be California's premier family fitness center, committed to providing a fun, friendly environment...” I have see that they failed their own mission. They shouldn’t be running a company if it is not a friendly environment. Let me rephrase, they shouldn’t run a company when they fail at their own mission statement.

My daughter was misled by a representative when she signed up to join. CFF is starting a new facility at Watt Avenue and Arden Way and she stopped at a promotional tent. During the discussion she asked if the initial payment of $104 covered the full year and the representative answer said yes. This was the mistake. When my daughter saw the next month withdrawal she called to cancel but was told she had to pay the monthly fee plus another fee for the daycare fee, plus a $600 termination fee to end the contract. She has just started a new job and has two preschoolers and never went to any CFF facility because they are not as close as close as she was told. That's why we were there, to cancel the contract. We found out that she was not the only one that has had this problem.

This is intended for corporate Overall gym experience has been good, downtown should put noon slip flooring on the basketball courts and shade so more people use it or change the courts to a swimming pool For corporate, it appears that they don't care about you enough to communicate to you to confirm that your membership has been cancelled, since you're no longer a customer, why waste time emailing you, right N.O.? (Won't give full name due to a respect for workers privacy) It's a sad display of a lack of courtesy. Want to become a member, they drool over the chance to make you a member. Cancel, God forbid, they don't think you exist.

Been a member since 2000, agreement that monthly rate was "locked" at a certain amount for lifetime and would not have to pay a yearly maintenance fee as I was "grandfathered in" yet they raised the fees $4.00 in 2017. I called and it was due to increased cost of admin fees which was clearly not what they sold me back in 2000. Typical used car salesman!

Have been a member almost a full year. Only 2 months did I not have a billing problem out of all that time. Some one somehow made me a second account and they charge me yet refuse to refund the money! They claim that they will credit my account but the credit is never applied! I'm going to corporate tomorrow to demand a refund

California Family Fitness does not care about how their customers feel neither do they try to fix any of their issues. I have been in battle to try and get my online account issue fixed for a month now and no one seems to be able to help. I went into my branch and was advised to contact the Corporate Office to have the matter resolved. I contacted the Corporate Office and kept getting the run around in the Operations department. First off, it's impossible to get through Operations. Why even bother having a phone line that no one picks up. My issue was escalated from Correy to Summer (Manager) and she had thought that she took care of the issue but she did not. I left a voice mail to hear back from her and still haven't heard a word. My issue is still unresolved and would like a call from senior management. If this issue is not resolved then I will be cancelling my membership.

Used to be a great gym. Now its just as packed as 24hr gym, but over priced. Can't use certain sections of the gym when there is a "class" in session haha even if that class has 1 person attending! Standards went way down from what they used to be, and prices went up.

Everything was fine until the last month, miscommunication cost me a month of a membership. I called and spoke with corporate and the rep said I could cancel today (July) and with this last payment my membership would be over Aug... so Aug 23rd comes along and in my mind I'm done, calfit is over. I stopped going to the gym and got a new membership somewhere else. They called a month later (sept 24th) and apparently their rep was wrong for saying I was complete/collected till August 23rd.. my contract didn't end till Sept 23rd cause he read my contract wrong when I initally called to cancel, so now I owe them Septembers payment or else I'm being sent to collections. I wouldn't be so upset if I knew cause I could've utilized my membership but instead it sat for another month, without my knowledge I was still active, and now they call to get their money. It's unfortunate the rep initially didn't know the details of my account, he read them wrong and relayed inaccurate information and thanks to him now I owe $55 for a month that I didn't even know was active and available to use. If I knew I was still a calfit member I wouldn't have gone somewhere else and got a new memerbship so soon. I'm just not satisfied with the overall expierence and this miscommunication from the cal fit team at the end was really disapointing. I am baffled the rep said I was paid up and able to cancel that month and then without calling my account was extended that month and now I must pay or be sent to collections. They didn't even know the details of my contract and that is very unprofesional to me, I relied on them to help me but instead they just screwed me in the end, so I wouldn't even bother starting a membership cause if you have an expierence like mine the help you receive will just make things worse.

Letter to Cal Fit: This organization should no longer be in business. Thankfully, it looks like it going to be out of business soon from looking at all the reviews from people who’ve been scammed with hidden fees and termination fees. I was scammed from a Cal Fit sales representative (Graham) at CRC college a month ago. Talked me into getting a free month membership, then I can cancel the membership before the month has ended. Only a $1 promotion with a credit card for students with zero entry fees. After 2 days I requested a form to terminate the account. A month later I received an email saying to pay a $300.00 to get out fee!! I called and no one can do anything about it... Not pleased or happy. I’ll stick with planet fitness. This place is nothing but hidden fees all around. Be careful, don’t sign anything until you read everything, because all they want is a sale.

The absolute worst customer service I've come across. Do not give these people your money or information. They will share personal information with other employees without your permission. Mike Hernandez is the most disrespectful employee there. He takes personal problems and makes them your problem because his quality of life is very very low.

Horrible ROCKLIN FAIRWAY LOC - double the amount quoted and then deducted from my bank twice to many times!! Finally went to location in Rocklin and got GREAT SERVICE. Be careful in Rosevilke and watch those auto deductions carefully.

Called a few days ago about a cancellation, one of their employees lied to me about paying a smaller fee and frozen months. So now I have to pay 300$ dollars in 3 months. I spoke to financial services and they wouldn't even try and work with me. Terrible customer service and the employees they should take classes in explaining terms and conditions. I would give this a zero, but you have to give one star. I really hope they read this so they can better train and possibly stop being so stuck up for a crap gym that's not even 24 hours and has by far one of the worst customer service from all the gyms I've been to.
