APEX is A+ in everything. Alan and his team are both kid and parent-friendly in how pro they are in running the facility. The space itself is well-maintained and regulated in terms of safety first and foremost. There are also options in terms of waiting for parents, whether they need a quiet room to get work done or want a bird’s eye view of all the action. And that action... in a word, WOW! The skills these kids (and adults) learn is astounding. This is our family’s first and only experience of parkour and we can’t imagine going anywhere else. Lastly, if you want a rad birthday party experience, highly, highly recommend! Our twins just had one at APEX and they immediately wanted another. The team did a phenomenal job of integrating all the kids, so no one felt left out. Overall: APEX-cellent. Thank you!

My 6 year old son love this place. All people are great, kids jump around. Good staff

Erik H

Cool parkour and Ninja Warrior gym with classes for everyone 6 and up. The teachers are patient and persistent. The obstacles are challenging and fun!

J_Cage

Really nice people they teach you every thing you need to know. They are always roaming around during "open gym" time in case you need help. They are really fun and nice to kids. They are about keeping you safe when doing parkour, but still let you do what you want.

Ryan Robinson

The best gym I've ever trained at, run by one of the best athletes in the field.

Kelly McCarthy

Great space. Aerial conditioning is done in a closed, quiet space with numerous silks, poles, and mats provided. I'm looking forward to trying more classes. Very affordable so far.

Shan Wolff

Sooo wish it was closer. Kids all had a blast. One of the best birthday parties we have attended. Staff was very engaged and knowledgeable. Plenty of parking. Win, win , win

Top 3 anywhere ever.

My son went there for a birthday party and he said "it was awesome!" It's not easy to keep a bunch of eight year olds entertained for an hour so major props to Apex.

Genesis Mendoza

Great gym filled with great athletes. If you're trying to get better at this sport, this is where to do it.

My 10 year old has never liked team sports like baseball, soccer etc. So we were excited to support him when he wanted to try parkour. How great to have an alternative for kids that centers on challenging yourself and personal bests! The coaches are awesome role models for the kids. The amazing, spacious gym looks nothing like you've ever seen! It offers lots of spaces for coaches to divide the class up and work with small groups, rotating them through different skills. We started with the 3-class intro. package and then signed our son up for half day camp all summer long! We love how he is building strength, resilience and confidence! Our son doesn't watch American Ninja Warrior on TV but has watched lots of parkour videos on YouTube, so even if your kids aren't into the show, they might really enjoy this activity. I expect we'll be booking his birthday party here. What a neat place that has classes for both kids and adults plus has open gym times--glad to be spending lots of family time at APEX Movement Norcal!

Huge kudos to Apex! Our 7 year old twins went yesterday and loved it so much that we drove back today. However, there was a mistake on one of the pages on the website and we showed up at the wrong time... Instead of turning us away, the wonderful people at Apex offered us a class (along with the other family who saw the wrong time on the site) right there on-the-spot. Great class, happy kids, and we will happily return! Update, we've been coming here for a year now and find the coaches and facilities amazing. We are so so happy here!

As stated in a previous review the gym is adequate, it’s the staff and the system I have a problem with. The staff treated me as if I was a burden to them. The gym works in a skill set system to determine what level a participant is at and what activities they are allowed to participate in based on their current band standing. Well, my son, who is 6 and brand new to Parkour, was only being involved in very beginner skill set lessons (think summersaults), apparently these are not the skills needed to advance, as we were to find out. My son was motivated and talked about how he wanted to advance. I sent him off to each class simply encouraging him to continue working hard, following their instruction and trust that he would get there. Finally, after months of sending him off with this advice and no skill set advancement, I decided to ask the staff what was required to achieve the next level band, as he and I were frustrated that he had not yet advanced. They acted annoyed at having to inform me the beginner moves needed to advance; something called a box hang, 2 pull ups and some other skill (I don’t remember what it’s called). I asked if they were teaching him these skill sets and explained our frustration with this stagnant development. In a manner of arrogance, I was informed that it was up to him to learn these skills at home on his own. I don’t even have the capacity to help him learn these skills much less the understanding how to teach him. I thought that they must be teaching him some of these skills, but in watching his workouts, I didn’t see any of these activities included in his repetitive gym routine. My son is 6 years old, he needs help and coaching. I thought that was what I was paying for. Not arrogant replies leaving me feeling like an inadequate father. I don’t know Parkour, I played baseball, soccer, tennis and ice hockey. My son wanted this and so I was happy to sign him up and pay the cost for the sake of his development. I found that the cost wasn’t paying for him to do much more than summersaults! I am very frustrated and annoyed and wish that we had a better experience for the sake of my son.

Great ninja warrior gym with excellent coaching for the kids. Wish they had a location on the Oakland/Berkeley side of the tunnel!

Ben Tolley

They have a really great setup here but unfortunately there are a lot of little kids who don't understand proper safety precautions. For example if someone is about to make a jump don't walk in front of them.

Travis Brewer

This place has some of the best ninja training in all of America and yet it's kid friendly for any age birthday! The owner is an incredible athlete, teacher, and all around great guy. Worth checking out for all ages interested in movement!

G Noland

Want to be a ninja or act like one? I don't go everyday. My body doesn't like that. Lol. They have a constantly changing ninja and parkour course that's alot of fun to play on, I mean workout on.

Tom Barcelona

Great way to get the kids off of their phones and active. Friendliest staff ever!

Thomas Solomon

Tremendous! Excellent range of obstacles, and a very friendly and helpful environment. You nailed it Apex!

The gym is adequate but I'm very unimpressed with some of the employees there. You get the feeling that you are more of an inconvenience to some of them (not all). Not a great business model.

Akilah Jones

Used the groupon, it was amazing and well worth the drive from Vallejo. We are signing up for sure.

So I just stopped in months ago to check this place out. Being a huge fan of Ninja warrior. The place looked awesome. The prices seemed very reasonable and once I find the time I'm going back to start on a few parkour courses. You are never too old to start!

Astounding service, Super friendly and helpful staff, And a legit workout space. Thanks Thomas for making it possible for a group of our teenagers to come and work out! Of all the things young people could be doing, I am thrilled that they Prefer to Be At APEX!! Judah Hudson, EMT

Awesome people teaching awesome parkour.

Alex Morgan Mc.

We scheduled a stop here on our way from SoCal to Oregon and it did not disappoint! Helpful, friendly staff and really supportive members. Great training area for Ninja Warrior. Excellent.

Brandon Samson-Payden

One of few parkour gyms around, Apex is a top notch spot to train at. Alongside many set Urban parkour style structures, they have an Air Trak, and more than a few Ninja Warrior obstacles set up for training (read: a lot). Staff and coaching is knowledgeable and I recommend them strongly just for having open workout times daily. You can always get more out out of training here!
