Disgusting plain and simple. 1: Roaches lying on the ground like it’s normal, seen 4 last on 12/24/18 2: Air quality is horrific! Known fact the gym’s air conditioning is turned off with a fan like muggy feeling the second you hit the 3rd floor. 3: re-racking dumbbells just doesn’t happen here sometimes the same dumbbells are left in a corner for days. 4: Employees act like their accountants or bankers sitting in front of the computers starring at the screens. ( it’s a gym get up and work )

It's cheap but disgusting. You're hit with a wave of heat/stink the minute you walk in. The locker room is musty and disgusting. The gym is dirty, free weights are just put anywhere no organization at all, some of the smaller weights are just scattered around the upstairs. The whole place is just gross.

Went to club still open but i was told they where close lots of people inside, so I asked the girl on the desk if I might use the bathroom then, since they where getting ready to close , and she told me NO we're closed maybe I upset her by interrupting conversation with her friends , may I add, I had just seen another member a female walk up and get her key card scanned. I felt embarrassed because of tone this young girl used towards me. I had to contain myself from saying anything. Thank you L.A. fitness for one of my worst experiences

Went to LA Fitness twice to cancel me membership and both times the people at the front desk refused to process my cancellation. In addition they told me I would be billed regardless for an additional month. This is the treatment I get after being a member for 5 years. Shady business practices. Beware!

Too many cell phone in use. No one monitors the floor and sees that people working out sit on the machines talking on their cell phones and hold everybody else up. People talking out loud on their cellphones hearing everybody else's conversation very annoying. !!

I travel a lot and visit a lot of different gyms and fitness clubs - this club is by far at the top of my list for all the important reasons - a massive amount of the latest equipment- so no lines! Super clean and the team is the best I’ve seen - starting with the GM William - he’s a great leader! Don’t hesitate to join this club.

I agree with the people who have had negative comments about the staff. People at the front are not welcoming at all. Usually sitting around talking to one another instead of greeting guests when they come in. A friendly "hello" or "good-morning" would be nice or even a "goodbye" or "have a nice day" upon leaving. Not a great way to start or end your workout.

The first gym I fell in love with. It's big, has 4 floors plus a pool. I don't I react much with the staff but overall a great place to get a workout in! Their stairmaster is the BEST!

This was surprisingly the cheapest gym in the area, so I decided to get a membership here. Despite the fact that they get fairly packed, they still have enough machines for me and my girlfriend to run and work out on. The staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Love this gym this has been the best LA fitness that I have been to. This gym has four floors top floor is all your Weight even though it gets busy but there's still enough weights. Third all your cardio machines elliptical cord, treadmills, and bikes. Second (lobby) floor your sales, front desk, trainer area, other cardio machine, sauna, pool, and jacuzzi. First floor for your cycling bikes for classes and session floor for classes and locker room. No basketball court Be advised parking at this center is horrible at certain times. I love this place. It is my home gym. The one thing I hate is the lack of parking. If you try to go any time between 5 pm and 8 pm be prepared to circle the parking lot for a while. There have been times that I have had to miss a class because I couldn't find parking after 20 minutes. Also, it can be difficult to get a machine during these hours. On the plus side - the classes are great. I love Zumba, Cycle and some of the yoga instructors - but do be wary of some yoga instructors who don't really know what they are doing. Do yourself a favor and go to all of the different teachers and see who works for you. The facility is clean. The staff is nice.

This is by far the grossest gym I’ve ever worked out at. It is also the worst L.A. Fitness. They do not hire anybody to keep the gym clean throughout the day. The locker rooms are disgusting. Nothing is cleaned here until the end of the day.

I am a member of this club for more than two years. a month ago I had problems with overpayment. they added a stranger to my account and took my money for it. when I came to the club to figure it out, they did not return the money to me and didn’t explain how a stranger appeared in my account without my permission. I'm very disappointed. These people do not respect the security of your account. be careful with overpaying. check how they charge money from your card

Old looking and run down gym. Been going there over several months due to location convenience and half the time something is closed off or under repair. Not the cleanest gym and poor air circulation and A/C. On one visit only one floor was open out of 3 and half of it was reserved for trainers only. Only go here if you are desperate otherwise it's better to do a home workout.

This the spot to be. I was trying to figure out what gym to choose while I was home for the summer time and after talking with Will, the decision was easy. Will helped me sign up with LA and has only been of great help/assistance throughout the process. He understood the situation I was in and helped figure out the best possible way for me to go about getting a membership. Aside from Will being the man, the gym has everything you’d be looking for. The basketball court is what I enjoy the most because most gyms don’t have that around here. If you decide to join this LA Fitness be sure to ask for Will when you walk in.

Luis Garcia, operations manager, incessantly schedules vacuuming during rush hour (peak gym hours). Stop, it disturbs everyone's workout and increases wait times in this under equipped gym. Buy more olympic bars! No reason not to stock extra. Have to wait 30 min to deadlift if you arrive at 7pm

I have been at la fitness 5 years now.i love this gym and have made many friends. One of my favorites is sterling, the service dog. The trainers are kind and helpful. I am a regular spinner. This is a full service gym with much energy and fun for all.

This gym has everything you can possibly need. Is never crowded to the point where not being able to find a machine or equipment is a possibility. Extremely clean and well kept compared to most gyms. No contracts or sketchy business practices, prices are all fair and reasonable. Personal training sessions are unreal. Staff members are beyond friendly and professional— Phil and Damon are the best.

This is my home gym. I love weights but they never clean the area. Bathroom looks like a gas station bathroom. Floors are dirty. None of the weights are where you can find them.

Any of the freaking bicycles work well. And there are homeless people sleeping on the gym i am thinking about canceling my membership.

I have been debating on giving a review or not and after my experience this morning I figured i would go ahead. Equipment is ok. Most of the people that go here are rude and seem to very judgmental you try to say hi or smile and they just turn their nose up at you. You see the same people everyday trying to accomplish the same goal you are but can’t even acknowledge you said good morning etc. Most of the employees don’t even acknowledge you walk through the door or as your leaving. There is one girl though that works at the front in the mornings that is always sweet and smiling. That’s why I gave 2stars. The women’s locker room and showers are really dirty. There’s no vents in the shower areas so when you get out of the shower your all sweaty all over again. I will continue to go to this gym for now just because it’s right down the road from my work, but I’m not impressed and not happy with much about it at all.

I was here for a year, but could not stand how uncaring the staff is. I was told in my "free fitness assesments" (scams to get you to spend more money) that I would never meet my fitness goals without a trainer, that it was next to impossible. My first assessment, the trainer left in the middle and said he would call to reschedule the next day but never did. Next, theft in the lockers rooms is a serious issue of safety. There were only three people in the locker room when a phone was stolen that I left in an unlocked locker in my purse while I used the restroom. The LA fitness staff member was in the restroom the same time as me so it's a comfort knowing she was not the one who stole it. However the girl that did (the only other female in the locker room that left) never checked in to the front desk when we checked for her in the checkin logs. The LA fitness staff member had seen her face too and could not find her or anyone that looked like her in the checkin log. When I said I wanted to cancel my membership because I didnt feel safe that anyone could just walk in here when staff leave the front desk unattended, they didn't even care or assure me that they would pay more attention to safety. They have a kids club here, I wouldn't ever leave my kids while I workout knowing that if the front desk is unattended anyone could just walk on in. You can pay much less for facilities with more amenities and better staff. I will not be spending my money here anymore.

Had a membership for about a year, then I had to cancel because I moved. They wouldn't do it in person, told me to call a number, got the run-around. Mailed in a letter to cancel my membership, but they kept charing my CC for 3 more months afterwards. Downright illegal. I asked my bank to stop LA fitness transactions, but the only option was to close the CC account and issue me brand new one. Don't give these crooks your CC info.

Total hustlers, it was uncomfortable from the very beginning, asking for friend names and prizes and promising one hour of free personal trainer, wich is you sitting on a desk with this person hustling so hard pulling the prices down of something you don´t even get to try, the person was not even fit! is cheap and has a pool, that is good, but the smell in the locker room is real gnarly.

This staff is ridiculously unprofessional and the GM should be fired. They cannot complete the MOST BASIC function of the job which is scanning people into the gym. They attempt to look busy don’t greet customers make no eye contact.

2 years ago, this place was great. Now, not so much. There very let sweat collect, weights are never put away (even right after open), the A/C is never on, the air flow is awful, and you can't see out the windows due to the collection of moisture from so many bodies. I don't mind the crowd, but seriously, no A/C? I've never been in any other LA Fitness where the air flow is so bad that I'm drenched head to toe in sweat from anlight weightlifting session and leaving pools of sweat wherever I go.

I really like visiting this location. Classes always going on. Pool, sauna, courts, boxing bag, Daycare, personal training and fittness bar available. Always clean and right off exit 48. This location is kind of part of the mall but comfortably isolated with it's own entrance and building, so no hassle running into shoppers. Great friendly staff. Clean bathroom and showers. Never had a smell issue. 5 star. Everything but towel service.

Want basic cardio? Fine. Want to be just a sell? Even better. Terrible management and customer service. They change the plan without telling us. The classes are a joke. (A yoga class taught by a teenager who actually got on her phone to take selfies repeatedly during the class and clearly didn’t know real yoga). The TVs only sometimes work and the WiFi never does.

I only go to this gym because it is closest to my house but as soon as another gym opens, Im leaving. Treadmills and Elipticals are in horrible condition. It always takes my wife and I from 4-5 different machines before we can find 1 that has a working tv/audio component. Why don't they fix or upgrade their machines? Cleanliness is just average, not as clean as the Playa Vista gym, which I prefer and go to as often as I can.

This gym has a serious roach infestation problem! The top floor is also out of commission. I'm not sure if they’re taking care of the visible mold on the ceilings or the roach problem; hopefully its both. The floors should also be changed. Not sure why anyone thought carpet in a gym was a good idea. The carpet is stained with spots everywhere and soiled. This gym needs a complete make over. Hopefully that’s what happening now..

I have been a member with the LA fitness Club in Trumbull for a while training with master trainer Andre. He is punctual, considerate and always prepared with an interesting program. His sessions are progressively intense, challenging and fun. He is proficient in kettle bell, strength and endurance training using free weights/machines applying high intensity interval training principals.

Brought my daughter in for her first day at a gym and the front desk associate (about 250 lbs and bleached streaks in her hair) was completely unprofessional and rude. I had forgotten my key card and she began questioning me about where I had left it, insinuating that I was lying to her. I have forgotten my card a number of times and all I had to do was give them my phone number and that would be it. Then when I told her I had a guest, my daughter, she first told me that I had no guest privileges which I knew I did have and she tried charging me $15 for a guest pass until the associate next to her pointed out that I did have guest privileges. Also the place smells like BO. Place sucks!

This gym is in bad shape. They have erected a plastic sheet and barricaded off an entire area of the weight section for over TWO MONTHS now. Machines are left broken for weeks and months at a time. And the staff are incredibly rude - especially the females on reception. They never smile when you arrive to check in, never acknowledge or greet you and are very unhelpful if you have questions. I was hoping that with the equinox opening they would lift their game - but it’s worse than ever. The gym does have some good equipment, set up is good and low has fees. But the customer service and speed of repairs is well below expectations.

I came here as I usually do today on 2.20.18 and at 9:00 PM I had my things trapped in one of the several broken mini lockers. The guy working the front KEVIN PEREZ was not helpful at all and really makes me want to cancel my membership! He literally belittled me as he brushed my request off for help as he thought his friends were more important to talk to than for me to get my things. The second guy he brushed me off and lingered at the front to talk to was a Spanish speaker only who he said was his manager when I asked for higher assistance. Anthony was a very helpful gentlemen and needs to be promoted for how great he is with customers. I don't think Kevin should be working here if his customer service is so poor and he obviously feels he is too good to help certain people. You can see the prejudism all over his face as he neglected to help me and that is NOT cool and something NEEDs to Be done about such negligence. There are several people worldwide who could use jobs and would love the opportunity to have one. LA Fitness needs to step it up because the service is lacking and that can really make or break a membership when there are several competitors near by.

Great Gym and Fitness Center! Staff is always available to assist with answering questions and help with training session. Friendly and professional staff and a pleasant comfortable atmosphere. Plenary of training equipment including a large free weight section, plenty of workout machines and dozens of cardio equipment! Tons of parking and easy access right off of the merry parkway. Great place to train!

LA Fitness is a fun place to get fit. There are all types of exercise equipment you can think of at least 10 machines in different categories such as jogging, cycling in various modes weight training, weights lifting, yoga and other fitness classes with trainers. Also personal trainers are available but at a charge. If you can afford the fees go for it. The location in Culver city is safe, opens early @ 5am and closes late at nights on weekdays. Weekends open @8am till 10 pm. Go and enjoy getting fit. Also refreshingly smoothies available onsite at juice counter. Overall worth it of you love to stay fit. Lot of free parking available.

My wife & I had the worst experience ever at this LA Fitness. Child care is horrendous. Whenever we dropped our 14 month-old child off someone from elsewhere in the gym was always 'filling in' and 'don't usually work back here.' One morning we worked out & dropped our Little off; the guy 'filling in' that day was glazed out staring his phone, despite there being 6 or 7 rowdy kids ranging ~4-10 years old back there. We mentioned this to the supervisor, Gary, who said he'd talk to the worker. When we picked our child up 30-45min later, the worker was still on his phone, totally checked out with the kids running wild. Our 14 month-old child's nose was bleeding, and the worker off-hand mentioned "oh yeah, he's been crying nonstop since you left." We were pretty upset, but Gary was with potential clients so we asked that he call us back that day when he had time & he agreed. Gary never called. So we went back in to have a conversation since it was apparent he had no intention of following up. He assured us that he would have the video recording of the kids club reviewed & get with Wes, the GM of the Chenal location, within 2 business days and resolve the issue, because he has a young daughter and understands were we're coming from. Gary never called. So we called several days later to see if any progress had been made, and Gary brusquely informed us that basically "tough, you're under contract so we're not doing anything." It took complaining to LA Fitness Corporate to get any traction on why their childcare is so patchwork, negligent, and why this location is disinterested in following up with concerned parents. We don't expect 5-star childcare at a gym, just someone responsible who's not checked out, and we think it's a reasonable expectation that we shouldn't worry about if our kid's going to be injured & ignored whenever we leave him there. Long story short (too late, I know): childcare here is negligent, management is callous and unreliable. We will never darken the door of LA Fitness again.

What can I say? It's a gym, the workers aren't the most polite you'd find. It's always packed there so expect to go hunting for the weights that will be left all over the gym. The parking situation sucks as well it could take up to 30 min to find parking.

Staff is lazy. The only way your members will learn to re-rack weights correctly is to monitor on a regular basis. I've been the first person in the gym on a regular basis and the dumbbells are out of control and free weights are scattered throughout the gym. Who's job is it to "set" the gym? Who's job is it to "re-set" and monitor the gym? Come on! Don't give me the BS that it is provided for the members, so it's the members responsibility.

I've been going to this gym since it was Ballys. Despite the flaws because it's close I shall continue to com ehere. It's LA Fitness, this is not Equinox; the first shower on the R in the ladies bathrooms has been cold for like 3 months; so if you're taking a shower skip that first stall on the R side. Omar's cardio jam class is lit. It's not for newbies, but on Saturdays folks will help you, go towards the back and MIDDLE part if you want to learn (trust me the edges, you'll be confused AF because he rotates the class with the aerobics moves). Start w/ Rochelle's Cardio jam class if you really want to learn Omar's. Bring your own lockers, and DO NOT i repeat DO NOT leave ANYTHING in your car or look like you're leaving anything in your car anywhere in this parking lot your car WILL get broken into. PERIODT. Parking, park on top of Best Buy if it's crowded (DONT LEAVE A DANG TING UP THERE IN YO CAR). Or by the Ralphs and walk. Usually I take classes, the cardio eqipment is on the second floor I've always had a machine I needed, but I'm an elliptical gal; not sure about the treadmill homies. I don't venture too much up to the weigh troom, but they've gotten more weights it looks like.

As an active member of this gym, paying my not that cheap dues, I’m quite disappointed of this place. Most of the time the body odors are just too much to bear. They could definitely boost HVAC systems to circulate more fresh air. Moreover lot of machines are falling apart and nobody seems to be maintaining them. Seems like it will take an injury for the management to pay attention to the breaking machines. Lastly, over the course of one month I stumbled upon 3 different huge cockroaches. GROSS!!! Each time staff has been informed. Clearly not much is being done about it. Last time I walked a manager to show him the huge one crawling on the wall. The cockroach was there next day in the same spot. For the fees I pay I would expect a more sanitary conditions.

It's a gym still run with the old LA Fitness sensibilities . By that I mean not big on service or ambience! Parking is limited in the little shopping center which competes for spots with Rite Aid & numerous other shops. The staff are either effusively attentive or impossible to engage. The pool is small for gym of that size and exists in an invasive fish bowl-like setting. But lockers, are refreshingly spotless with newish lockers and lots of space. And the equipment is fairly new with lots of cardio. Unfortunately the weight machines are hardly available.Oh yeah, Do NOT go at rush hour!

Their equipment is old and dirty, there's mold in the ceilings and they shut down the weight lifting floor for over a month without any explanation or reimbursement whatsoever. Very disappointed with this sale person called Ariana! I wanted to subscribe for one month only, which is $50 but she charged me $150. When I came to tell her about her « mistake » she told me she charged me this price « in case I stay longer than one month »....like seriously now you make decision for me? Then when I asked her to fix that she said one month will be $75 while her coworkers told me before it is $50 ». So I told her that and she told me that her coworkers don’t know anything about that - with a superiority attitude! Then she convinced me it’s $75 a month so I paid again but the next day I found out she lied to me again and she just tried to make commission over me since the beginning and the funny thing is that the manager never did anything about it so I just canceled definitely my membership. Be really aware with this Ariana!

They have removed Fox news from the TVs, I can imagine the reason being censoring freedom of speech and real news, being in LA I see how much the media is responsible for having one way of thinking and no opportunity for real debate. If they keep forcing the leftist fake news on their TVs I'll have to cancel my membership with LAfitness and switch to 24hrs or gold. Update: LA fitness still insists in Censoring TV channels at this location, I am leaving by the end of December if they don't address this issue. Went to use my 2 week guest pass and instead they try and sell me on a membership for an hour meanwhile it stank like the worst B.O. imaginable. Not the best selling tactic. So instead of getting a workout in, I got to smell B.O. and leave without being able to use my guest pass. They were practically begging me to leave me credit card info so that they could just call me and charge me the gym membership over the phone the following week. I told them why in the hell would I give them my CC info if I just wanted to try the gym and use the guest pass? Pretty unprofessional. Eventually they just said, "Okay you can leave my desk now". What the hell?? After an hour they still don't say.. okay you can use your pass now. The only selling points of the gym looked to be the price, pool, and vball/basketball. The gym floor is actually MUCH smaller than I thought it would be. In such a big building you would think it would span multiple floors? Nope. One small floor. Don't go 5 to 8 P.M. though. It looked like sardines in there. I can't imagine they can keep it that clean with it that packed.

I was in this particular facility for the first time ever. I typically work out at the LA near my house but I was with friends who stay in culver city and we decided to get a quick little set in after we left dinner. The facility itself and the amenities are exceptional, and most of the staff too; however, I am leaving a 1 star because of the exceptionally unprofessional attitude and display of one particular associate named Kevin. He made it a frustrating experience from getting checked in to finding my way around the building. Every interaction we had with him, he made it feel as though we were wasting his time, time that he was spending socializing with another young man. He would stop what he was helping us with, and turn to begin conversing with the other young man in Spanish. We could not help but believe they were insulting us as they would shoot glances and laugh. I found it to be quite sophomoric and HIGHLY unprofessional!! Not someone you would want to be representing your establishment.

They open 5am Monday to Friday but not on weekends?! Come on man, I need to get in early. One night I planned to do bench press, I get there and there’s TWO benches with no bars! Apparently members are selfish left the bars somewhere else. I found a bar that was for the bench loaded up by a smith machine. I just left . Will cancel soon, as I didn’t get a chance to use the squat rack either cuz some member decided to do 20 sets of squats and hogged the squat rack.

Only if I can give it 0 stars. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! They won’t help you cancel your account, rather freeze it and not tell you it’s still charging you, only to say that your account is completely cancelled. They suck at communication, I was sent there back and forth for 3 days straight because the person who only does cancellation is NEVER there. Probably hiding in the back tbh. Don’t do it. So make sure if they only told you that they froze your account that doesn’t mean they won’t charge you AND that doesn’t mean they cancelled your account. I went there for a year and I will NEVER go back into LA ever again.

This gym is 3 stories so it has almost everything you could want in a gym. The machines and equipment are generally clean. The top floor can get warm when it's busy but is just fine during the afternoon or nights. Parking is difficult unless you opt for their valet parking which is located in the back. Otherwise there's a main parking lot that is shared by many other businesses.

I have been a LA fitness member since 7 years ago. I lived in different states, and tried numerous LA fitness clubs. This gym is a mess, and cause of my decision to terminate my membership with LA fitness. The other night I went for a work out; on the third floor (where all the equipments are) you couldn't breath. there was steam on all windows, and there was no air, broken AC?!!! Most of the time it's hot and there is not enough air, but this time I had to walk out of there to be able to breath! Most of equipments are old and broken, the waiting time to be able to use the equipments is about 5 min, but forget about treadmill. Despite the fact that there are almost 6 treadmills sitting there out of service you have to wait at least 15 min. Yoga classes held under fitness class were everybody through their weights on the floor, imagine you are doing yoga and Bang Bang, someone through a weight on the floor ( which is the ceiling of your classroom). Restrooms are always dirty! Swimming pool is nasty!I am looking for another gym in the area, and looking forward to cancel my membership with LA fitness. I also ran into a very rude instructor and they didn't take care of the issue!

I have to tell you. I was not fond of the gym. At all. I had every excuse under the sun of why I shouldn’t go. I tried it anyways and met with Miguel for the free consultation and with his help I agreed to start personal training sessions. It changed my life. I have met with him, with Sara, with Brian and many more and I have to tell you they are great. Client oriented, respectful, supportive, empowering... couldn’t really ask for more. Thanks to every single one of you that have significantly helped in changing my life around. I sincerely look forward to attend this gym and it’s installations weekly and I would give my highest recommendation to anybody to give it a try to the personal training sessions. They kept pushing back the date for when the weight room would be available, which I found unprofessional. Their staff/sales team has called me every day for about 2 weeks—probably 3 times a day all at which are within 20 minutes from each other—with different team members leaving me voicemails. I understand you’re trying to sell a membership but all the calls and voicemails was too excessive—I eventually blocked the phone number. If that’s how their team works trying to get a membership, I don’t really want to know how they will be if I were to join.

Be careful what you sign. The trainers at Lafitness are sales people first and trainers second. They will speed through and embelish the details of a contract "blah blah blah, sign here, blah blah blah, sign here." When you try to explain to them your financial hardship they will not work with you. All Lafitness cares about is your money. And other active items like rollers, arm bands, and small gym bags. Big locker rooms. 5:30pm to 7:30pm are peak busy times. Good size kid play/care area. Like most of the locations front desk people are rude never say hi just scan your kids. But I like it, it's big so you never feel cramped.

This is the gym I've been waiting for. HUGE facility, sauna, pool, hot tub, b-ball court, mini soccer field, sand volleyball. The bathrooms are impeccable. They have plenty of machines and brand new cardio EVERYTHING. Go see Big Ben the trainer, he's incredibly knowledgeable, approachable and he will kick your butt, in a good way. Hopefully the sad face girls who worked at The Marina location don't show up here(red-headed lady, you know who you are, you're the worst).

The gym itself is great! There are a ton of machines - and enough weights that I never end up waiting to workout (unlike my previous gym). The Kid's Club is especially handy, and I really love the group classes. The facility is always clean (even the locker room), and most of the employees are friendly. I've only had one negative experience with one of the employees, and I think it's worth mentioning. During a fitness assessment he managed to insult my degree after asking me what I studied in college (any degree in the arts is completely useless according to him), he said "Jesus Christ" about 17 times - a bit excessive, he called me uncoordinated - and instead of motivating (which I think he may have been going for), he left me feeling pretty down. It wasn't positive at all.... Overall, I'm happy with the gym facility - so I share a positive review, but it may benefit them to consider a different kind of person for a position that's supposed to be encouraging their customers.

Location next to my house, the reason I'm a member, is shut down for renovations for over a month. Management is unwilling to give a month refund because they have 200 other locations....well I go to the gym before work and LA Fitness b/c it's next to my house, the other 200 locations are not convenient for me. Manager said we can go in circles but the roof needs to be fixed, I'm not suggesting don't fix what needs fixing, I'm suggesting compensate your loyal customers for the inconvenience. Extremely disappointed and will be looking for a new gym if this is how they treat their members.

great facility, friendly staff, equipment always maintained, plenty of weights, new machines, free fitness classes for members, plenty of free parking, and lots of space to work out. My only gripe is that LA Fitness closes early Friday night and Saturday night, the only nights of the week I have the time to get in a good workout especially if I'm not in the mood for going out or sitting around. Also the swimming pool is small and always full of people, the water looks cloudy and gross as a result. Be sure to rinse yourself off after using the pool.

I know nothing about that. If I ever cancel I guess we will see. Somewhat clean gym. It’s not spotless. I go there to do cardio and to lift weights. for that it’s above average. When I started going to this gym, everything was fine, but then I decided to get a personal trainer. It was going okay. Then one day I called my trainer to see if can trained and he told right now I don't have time, I said okay but then I called the following week and he told me right now I can't. He never had time for me. And I was paying 220 every month. Then I told the manager about the problem and she care less, as long as I pay it was okay for them. So I call to cancel my membership, but they told me that I had to pay 900 dollars to cancel. I was mad because they never had time for me, they never check on me. The service sucks and they wanted me to pay 900 and they were charging me 220 every month.

After reading poor reviews related to excessive billing and misinformation upon sign up I decided to sign up for a 6 month membership at this gym because it is very nice. Was told I could cancel 6 month membership at any time due to moving and not being within 50 miles of an LA Fitness. Joined gym 16th of December 2017, moved and notified them in March, still have to be paying for and retaining membership through June (original term of membership). Could not reach customer service to discuss it, could not get a call back when told I would get a call back. The group work out classes were amazing, Melinda was an exceptional motivator and extremely welcoming, the University location is also very nice and has everything you need, if not more. The 3 stars is due to the lack of communication. The sales rep assured me that if I was moving to a location outside 50 miles of an LA fitness (or associated gym as i read in the contract) I could cancel my membership. I found out I was moving in January and went to work on cancelling the membership, you have to mail in a letter to their main center and have it processed with takes 6-10 business days of course (just a preprinted letter generated off their website where you input the address you're moving to, doesn't require a signature of anything). I ended up paying for 6 months worth of the gym membership with their courtesy of letting me still come to the gym until the end of my membership in June, but of course I had moved in March. So.... do not sign up for the membership if you have any wish of cancelling. If you wish to not be auto renewed, let them know a couple months ahead of time just in case.

I really wish I could give this LA Fitness 0 stars. Do NOT go to this gym! The staff does NOT care about you as a customer. The first problem I have with this gym is the initiation. I luckily paid in full, so I do not have a monthly fee. But when I signed up I was supposed to receive a shirt, a towel and a lanyard from them. I got everything but the shirt. I STILL haven't received a shirt and its been since the beginning of October 2016. I have literally called for 4 months just to try to get a damn shirt! They lack on their ordering of items that customers SHOULD get upon signing up. They claim they have a "new person ordering shirts and when he/she does, they never order enough" and every time I call they ALWAYS run out. I am not so much mad about that as I am about how they are treating my friends/family and myself. When you sign up, they want you to put in (their system) people to come workout with you, and everyone you may know that includes name and number. What they don't tell you is that they are going to call and HARASS those people who do not have a membership with them until they get you in the door and take your money. I was told by Wes (the GM) that these people would NOT be called. I specifically made sure of this. But somehow MY friends and family are telling me that LA Fitness is calling them almost EVERYDAY and have not stopped. So just today, I tried to call and resolve the issue before I took it up with corporate. I was told by the staff that Wes would be there by 9:00a. I called a total of 4 times. About the 3rd time I called, staff had told me "he just stepped in the door", that was at 9:45a. I called back a couple more times only to be put on hold for 7 minutes and for someone on the staff to tell me that he would call me back in 5 minutes. That was at 10:02a. It is 11:10a now and I still have not heard anything. I am going to call corporate and let them know about my issue. This is just a warning to those who want to try LA Fitness in Chenal, to be careful who you trust with you money and the customer service that you receive along with it. This gym DOES NOT CARE and WILL give you the run around. This is also the first review I have ever written about a place being THIS BAD. Its a lovely gym but it is not worth the hassel of the entire staff and the dishonesty and disrespect. DO NOT BUY A MEMBERSHIP HERE. DO NOT GO TO LA FITNESS(Chenal). Customers be warned. ***REVIEW UPDATE: I called back around 12 this afternoon, never talked to Wes but got to talk to Chris Taylor, the assistant manager. He assured me my contacts would not be bothered and said he would take care of my shirt. Its sad this is taken this long. But I gave another star only because Chris Taylor helped me.

The third floor is closed where all the weight lifting machines are in place. Even though the personal training area has weight lifting equipment staff members don't allow to be in the area. The girl that works in front desk ( Latina) she is not very friendly, gives attitude when you ask questions. DON'T GO THERE.

Five stars are for my trainers Andre and Ryan. They've helped me transform my body and methods for working out. They vary my workouts weekly and make it fun and productive. Exercising after a long day of work can be tough to stick with but meeting one of these trainers each week is extremely motivating and beneficial. They push me to push myself and the results are clear. I feel 100% stronger. Highly recommend Andre and Ryan at this gym.

Clean gym with workout areas for everyone. In general, hours are good. It can get a bit crowded here, depending on season, but never had to wait for a machine. Only waiting may be at the pool, because most go to swim laps. My biggest con is last min class cancellation, with really only notice when you arrive on site. This rarely happened, so I’ll maintain the 4 stars.

this place is horrible. 80% of the cardio equipment is broken or not working properly/noisy, can’t even find anything you need because no one puts anything away, the cleaning people will literally shove the mop under your face will you’re working out on a bench, and they shoved the ab/stretching area into a little corner in the back because they took over the original location as a training area. the only reason i come here is because it’s conveniently right near my house. it’s been time for some new equipment for a while now yet none of it’s been replaced since this place opened. management really has no pride in this gym.

I'm not a huge gym person, but as gyms go, this one is great. The staff, led by William, is friendly and helpful. The space is huge, with plenty of room for whatever you prefer - racket ball, basketball, swimming, sauna, yoga/classes, spinning, free weights, and lots of equipment. The locker/bathrooms are clean and most of the members are respectful of each other and take care to wipe down/sanitize the equipment after use. There doesn't appear to be a "type" of member here, so it's nice to have so many different types of people - young/old, diverse, fitness types, body builder types, yoga/swimmer types, etc - all working out together. Nice job, Will and crew, and thank you for helping me to accommodate my out of town guests during Thanksgiving - they are now LA Fitness fans too!

Visiting LA fitness was a nightmare today! Never ever in my life I 've had such a bad treatment at any gyms, spa or elsewhere. Long story short. Got guest pass online, went to the closest gym, nice girl introduced me to Alphonso (not sure if I got his name correct). After an our filling out forms, got excursion, listen to all sales speeches and when I said to Alphonso I'm gonna try guest pass first, and than sign up for membership his mood was changed and he said actually I cannot use my guest pass because I was at the gym before. Such a lie!!! I spent at least an hour over there and basically he just said I cannot go if I will not pay right now. I've never ever in my life been to any LA fitness in LA or anywhere in USA or Canada. It was my first time visiting LA fitness and it was the last one. After I said I'm not going to sign up membership right now I was treated like nothing. Alphonso was mad, impolite and just want me to leave. Even later another guy said I can go, because he confirmed I wasn' there before I don't want to. Thank you for the worst experience. If you want to be happy going to the gym, stay away from LA Fitness.

Spacious gym. It has all equipments at least 2 of each for weight lifting. Cardio section is the largest. Basketball is a plus (not a fan). Pool is well maintained. Small jacuzzi. 4 stars due to workout classes (zumba, abs, etc). Irregular timings and inconsistent. You cannot attend a class daily at the same time. Membership required (per annum), initial fee is very high compared to other gyms (got it covered).

Let me begin with this: I am new to California and LA Fitness; however, I belonged to several gyms in NJ and had a few months experience working at one. That being said, this gym is very large and still remains VERY busy outside of normal work hours. I've been a member for about a month and there are 9 stairmaster machines, 3-4 of which have had "scheduled for service" signs taped to them. The staff at the front desk are often very standoffish. They have to physically scan you in and there have been a few instances where I present my barcode and I wait for the staff person, sometimes on the phone, having to lean over and scan my barcode. This seems a very silly system and an easy fix.. Also, there are zero staff on any floors that I have seen with the exception of the first floor or a man emptying garbage cans. (There are 4 floors). Because of this lack of staff, people drop their paper towels on the floor and others drop very heavy weights repeatedly. The gym is also a bit gross as there are no sanitary wipes for any equipment;rather, there are some paper towel machines with hand sanitizer pumps next to them with a sign stating you can apply the sanitizer to the paper towels to wipe machines. Why not just stock proper wipes? Meanwhile, the bathrooms in the locker room have NO paper towel machines. And ONE hand dryer. Again, this makes for a messy bathroom and seems like this could be a really simple fix.. Overall, decent gym for the money, especially if you have time to wait for the machine or weights you want and have time to come mid-day.

I give 3 stars. This has brand new equipments and very clean. HOWEVER, you can never find your weights when you want to use them. Doesn't matter what time of day you go, i've gone EARLY when they just opened, the weights are only 40% racked the other 60% you have to walk all around the gym just to look for them. It gets super packed too! Management need to really step it up with organizing weights and racking them if the members aren't doing it.

As a member for over a year and a half, I find it annoying when the manager tells me I have to wait 24 hours for a friend to be signed up for a two week pass. As I just called the North El Centro location and they said come on in, we will sign him up. In fact, we can email him a pass.
