4 stars because I keep coming back. I like some of the staff, I like the early hours and the unlimited tanning for premium membership.

I've had gym memberships all across the country and in my experience the Alaska Club is by far the most expensive, but provides the least value. There are constant problems with the facilities: broken windows, leaking roof, dirty bathrooms, inoperable equipment. When there are more than 2 people at the gym WiFi is so slow that streaming music is impossible. The only place in the downtown location to do individual exercises without weights (yoga, Pilates, stretching, etc.) is the group fitness room. This room is, of course, used for group fitness classes during peak times, but it is also frequently used by classes that aren't on the schedule. So, even if you check the class schedule the room might not be available when you get there. I should add that there have been some recent improvements to the facility, such as putting decorative baskets in the men's locker room.

The record keeping and costumer service is unsatisfactory. The gym is overpriced, you’d be better off going to Pavits or The Gym.

No e clean place...bit always busy during the daytime.... and not entirely worth the monthly fees....unless you plan on using it everyday... try their aqua massage!....its why I joined....

They rush and lie to you when trying to get you to sign up. Make sure you do your own research on your questions. They will tell you whatever they know you want to hear to get you to sign on the dotted line.

The Place has been remolded and has all new 2019 equipment. Staff is friendly and the Hot Tub is very nice. Considering Juneau's options for a healthy place to work out, The Alaska club is where its at for sure. 24 hours is a plus.

Total rip off! Do not go to ALEX CAO!! for a membership. I was told by Alex that I could apply for a month to month and payed about $150 then cancled it after one month due to a school sport. I went to the valley JRC to sign a contract of my cancellation then few months later was told i never cancled and needed to pay 350+. After 1 month I never stepped foot on there facility, but already payed $150 prior to that. Showed them my bill they charged on my credit card and reduced it to $250+. I then complained to the manager but he did nothing but tell me he cant help me at all. I payed over $250+ for a membership that i cancled and never even stepped foot on there facility after my cancellation. I suggest going to a different gym. They scam you in JRC!!!

Everything you need for a workout is available. Very utilitarian. Main workout areas have TVs and music. Most "extras" you would get with premium JRC membership, like massages or saunas, are not available at their Juneau locations.

Just in town for the week and needed a gym. TAC has a lot of machines, weights, cardio, basketball court and class's. also strong childcare (I did not use.). Only complaint are the basketballs were in poor condition and under inflated.

I joined for a year, with an option to leave after 90 days. The 90 days couldn't come fast enough. The staff were extremely helpful and eager when I wanted to join, but after that were amazingly unhelpful and misleading. The equipment, especially the treadmills were subpar. I often had to try two to three before finding one that seemed to work correctly. I reported this to staff and nothing was done about it. The steam rooms and sauna's were less than sanitary and smelled something foul. I opted out at the 90 day mark and that was an event in and of itself. They ignored me at first, hoping to lock me into the remainder of the year is my guess. Only after I stopped payments did they seem to acknowledge me. Then came after me for more money. No matter where you are in Alaska, there are far better options. Even if there weren't I wouldn't go The Alaska Club.

Odd layout but great facilities. Racquetball courts are sweet. Plenty of group classes with enthusiastic instructors. Costly to belong but worth three investment.

I do not understand the female staff member, the one with a nose ring; one bit. She is rude and stuck-up and seems unwilling to provide even basic customer service standards.. After my workout I stood at the front desk, waiting for her to show up so I could RETURN a movie I had checked out the previous day. Without asking me how she could help she me, she launched into a tantrum about how I shouldn’t try renting movies at such a late hour (very close to the gym’s closing time). She is extremely rude and I don’t want to have to interact with her in the future.. which can only be accomplished by canceling my membership at the 90-Mark..Definitely considering the other gym options in town after tonight. From reading the other complaint-reviews, COMPANY will response with a generic “oh we’re so sorry, we will do better, give us another chance pretty please,” rhetoric response. If so, I know what time it is. Which no one in the basketball court room would; that clock has been stuck at 7:00 since the day I joined over 7 weeks ago... JRC clients are clearly no more than line items on a general ledger. Zero “care” given.

It's a very expensive place, but if you mind becoming a member of a good workout Club, this would be the place to go. There's even a place that has an area, where your kid's spend time in their own special area, while you work out, or you can go swimming, lift weight's, work on the treadmill,& they even have male,& female locker's, (separately of course). And they're very concerned about whoever is working out in there. They can give you one on one attention, if you want it.
