I've been going to Studio One for about two years now and I feel stronger and more capable of everything. I can't begin to list all of the benefits I've experienced from going to class regularly. Before going, I was plagued with sciatic pain that chiropractors attempted to help with, but pilates has completely resolved. I could barely walk and now I'm able to excel in any sport I try. I run the fastest I've ever ran and am even able to branch out now to combat sports. It's really amazing how the teachers help you retrain your body to respond to challenges with strength and physical intelligence. Class is always fun and challenging too (as challenging as I want it to be). Beyond physical well-being and injury recovery, I have more confidence because of my much improved posture and I can think clearer. I can even project my voice better. The teachers at studio one are life changers! This is the most important exercise I've ever done. Thank you so much!

Studio One Pilates has redefined the word exercise for me. Working out is so civilized and enjoyable, I actually feel better after class. I generally take mat and reformer classes throughout the week and I've recently incorporated ballet bar into the mix. My muscles are strong and defined for the first time in my life. I'm taller, stronger, and I feel amazing. The staff at Studio One are friendly, helpful and caring. I was referred to Studio One by a friend and I will forever be grateful. I am not the biggest fan of exercise – I always seem to have an injury. With Pilates, there has never been an injury. My neck and back pain disappeared after a few weeks of classes and Rolfing and I was feeling 100%. Pilates helped me to find my foundation and strengthen those intrinsic muscles that you don’t usually get to at the gym. With each class I feel taller, stronger, balanced, and more relaxed. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and the environment is very welcoming and comfortable. I cannot say thank you enough!

People are raving about Studio One! It is a friendly studio with a knowledgeable staff. Every instructor takes the time to cater to your needs by offering modifications and meaningful feedback. This personal attention has made it possible for me to release much of my back pain. I leave every class feeling supported by the instructors. The positive energy at Studio One is contagious. Everyone is happy to be there and excited about being healthy. I have already referred many friends to the Whole Body Bootcamp. It is well worth the money and prepares you for taking further classes. I was very disappointed with Studio One Pilates. I wanted so much to like it so I kept going back fro three months. The "boot camp" is a waste of time and the name is deceiving....it's not a boot camp at all and I do not know why they will measure you on the 1st day; I think it's to give you the impression that you will lose inches which will entice you to register. As I said, I didn't want to give up so I purchased a couple of "unlimited" months but that is also deceiving because there are many classes you cannot take when you purchase the "unlimited" monthly classes. I really didn't learn much and so my plan now is to take a few private classes, somewhere else, and then get a video to do at home. I gave a one-star rating because the staff at the front desk and most of the teachers are very friendly.

Instructors are fabulous at constructive input, and challenging clients while remaining non-judgemental. My membership with Studio One only gets better year after year as the team strives for excellence in scheduling, cue-ing for moves, and unique specialty classes.

When preparing for two Total Hip Replacements within a 6 month span, I knew that pre operatively an exercise program to strengthen my core and build hip muscle strength and stability was essential for strong post op surgical results. As an RN it was important to find a program that was research based and reviewed and supported by Health Care Practitioners, including Physical Therapists. Having a full, active life I also wanted to maximize my time with a program that was smart, effective and fun and would compliment other activities. Studio One Pilates not only met my initial criteria but continues to exceed my expectations to help maximize full body strength, flexibility and over all well being! Studio One Pilates concepts make excellent sense. The practice strengthens and tones specific muscle groups - large and small, stabilizers and movers - from head to toes (literally). Balance, breathing and posture enhancement are integrated in the classes that are led by professional instructors with advanced and ongoing training. The instructors are enthusiastic, very knowledgeable and skilled at delivering supportive individualized instruction in a positive, non competitive environment. The owners, Paul and Ana, model their commitment to their program, are engaged with their clients, and consistently enrich the instruction they offer in a friendly, kind hearted space. I’m now recovering from my second surgery and have a great outcome thanks in part to Pilates conditioning. I am excited to get back my to Studio One program! Gratefully, no more surgeries - but plenty of Alaskan play to enjoy and lots of life to live to the fullest with a strong healthy body! Thank you Studio One Pilates!

The staff and programs at Studio One Pilates are above and beyond all my expectations. The structure of the classes are so helpful at reducing pain and stiffness from old injuries. The strength and stability I have achieved through Back and Joint Boot Camp got me back on my feet post-back surgery and I keep gaining strength and stamina. The pain and loss of function from nerve damage have been greatly improved. As a Registered Nurse, my back pain nearly ended my career. I can't imagine a healthy life without Studio One Pilates.

I’ve been going to Studio One Pilates 2-3 times a week for nearly seven years now. I’m hypermobile in nearly every joint of my body. When I first started, I was in a lot of pain, had a lot of injuries, and was probably going to be in a wheelchair before age 30. The instructors were incredibly patient and knowledgeable and worked with me to figure out a plan that was right for me. It’s a lot different from other exercise programs: their focus on joint stability and small movements was just what I needed. I have much less pain and I injure myself less because I have better control over my body due to the exercises I learned at the studio. I can happily say that I’m almost 32 and there’s no wheelchair in sight!

I loved Studio One Pilates. I'll admit I was skeptical at first - I had done Pilates before and Studio One teaches a specific type of Pilates, which was not what I was expecting (I was expecting mirrors and more dance-oriented exercises)... but instead of mirrors and a focus on how you look during the workout, these instructors focus on how you feel during each exercise, and wow! That translates into a serious workout that really makes a difference for tone and strength and balance. The instructors really care about improvement in each individual and are very good about giving feedback, especially if you ask them. I didn't lose or gain any inches after boot camp (actually that was another thing that made me skeptical at first, I knew I couldn't change body shape in a few weeks!)... but after several months my formerly high arches were coming back and I was buying shoes in smaller sizes again, so that was nice. I moved in 2014 which is great for my professional life but I so wish there was a Pilates studio like this in my new town. 100% worth whatever amount of time you can spend there!

Since 2001 Studio One has been an Alaskan leader in Pilates and so much more. They have a great culture of “customer centric” care. Studio One offers great classes and individual lessons tailored to meet the needs of all customers. The low impact stability, core and strength training help many following medical procedures, injuries and in meeting routine fitness goals. The attentive staff provides information on other methods of “body work”, fitness and health.

I joined with my husband last week. So far we have been to the Pilates 101 intro class and two Basic classes. The instructors that we have had are extremely knowledgeable and attentive. My husband was referred by his physical therapist in order to keep improving on the gains that he has made so far in therapy sessions. I joined in hopes of tone up some flabby areas and increase core strength overall.

I was a pilates sceptic. I loved yoga, kickboxing, intense hiking and kayaking. How could breathing and what seemed like yoga knock-off moves be helpful? I was so mistaken. Yup, I admit I was wrong, really wrong. A friend gave me a gift card in 2016, for private lessons, following knee surgery to replace my ACL and torn meniscus. I have never stopped going. I am a pilates convert. Better core means better posture, better breathing, which in turn improves all my other activities. My neuropathy from chemotherapy is almost gone. I can actually feel my feet and no longer need orthodic insoles; I can walk in barefeet again. I have much better posture, and it was already good, now it's great! I am stronger and more relaxed. I could go on ad nauseam but you should try it for yourself. The instructors are amazing. Knowledgable, helpful and extremely fun. Don't be put off by having classes that seem like you are just learning to breathe, you are learning how to breathe better. Don't think that moving what feels like only one inch, won't make an improvement, it will. You will break a sweat for moving that one inch, seriously. You do not have to get an endorphin high to exercise. Really. Pilates is the most gratifying of all my exercises and the most difficult. Oh, and I have made some amazing friends from Studio One. As my husband stated so aptly, "Babe, you have found your tribe".

Studio One has helped me rehab a bad shoulder, realign my posture, and strengthen my body! Because of Studio One, the day after skiing straight up Spencer Loop for 1.5 hours, not only was able to move and walk without pain, but I was ready to ski some more! That would have never happened without my 2-3 classes a week at Studio One Pilates!

I have been taking pilates classes from Studio One Pilates owner, Paul, for more years than I care to count. Over the years I have seen his Pilates studio grow into an amazing, dynamic community that is focused on educating the body and mind to produce the most remarkable results possible. After having my second child I felt trapped physically and mentally and unmotivated to get back into shape. After some gentle encouragement from my friend and Studio One employee, Jen, I began taking Core level classes again. I immediately felt my confidence rise and within 3-4 classes I could see my body tightening back up. Over the past year my strength, flexibility and finesse have improved dramatically, not to mention the 3 pant sizes i have dropped! These results are the product of 1-2 classes per week (I wish my schedule would allow me to go more often), and a healthy diet (which the studio also provides as an additional support service). These two factors have done more for my body and mind than years of hours spent in the gym and doing exercise videos. My workout is the most effective and streamlined it has ever been which gives me more time for my busy family. The knowledgeable and supportive staff do a fabulous job focusing on the fundamentally core areas that need to be addressed structurally to ensure the most productive changes both internally and externally. No matter what class you take you are guaranteed to get consistent instruction and rewarding results. I love mixing the core classes with the leveled classes to gain a balance between the structural glue and muscular strength that make a body look, feel, and perform the way a body should. I highly recommend this studio if you want amazing results, from an amazing group of professionals. My mom began taking classes at Studio One after a car accident and has benefited so much from the help of their friendly and knowledgable staff. It has been so fun to watch her drastic improvement in health and strength. I will definitely be taking classes at Studio One when I get home this summer!

It took me a while to find Pilates, but now that I have I won't stop. Studio One Pilates amazed me after my boot camp, where I grew one inch taller thanks to better posture in just one month. Most people think exercise should leave you exhausted and achy, but you walk out of a Pilates class feeling more open and strong. Best yet, you can kiss old injury pain goodbye. And there's no better studio to work out in than Studio One, where the classes are challenging with lots of options, and the instructors are hilarious! I recommend Studio One to all my friends.

I want to thank Studio One for the changes I've experienced in my body over the past couple months! The boot camp really helped me connect with my body. The movements are small and subtle but they really help me in my daily life and activities. I was suffering from upper back and lower leg pain and that's all gone away. Not only am I not experiencing any pain but my posture is way better and I move more gracefully. I'm thankful every day that I started at Studio One and I'll continue as long as I can with their program!

This place is absolutely fantastic! What a gem to find in Anchorage! The instructors are all extremely knowledgeable and will modify exercises for you if you have any injuries, aches or pains. They will also give you options if you want a more challenging workout or more of a beginner version. The hands on corrections always help me so much to improve my form and I've experienced some amazing changes in my body. I haven't lost any weight but my body shape has changed so much in only 4 weeks: I am taller, my legs are straighter, my posture is better, and my feet are at least half a size smaller! If you have previously taken Pilates classes somewhere else and it was boring or didn't feel good: try Studio One! It's nothing like your regular Pilates classes at the gym! Their Pilates is so much more effective than anything I've tried before. You'll feel great in your body when walking out of there! The studio has a super welcoming environment and the instructors are really encouraging and make you feel good about yourself. They’ll push you just the right amount if you want them to, but they will also let you go at your own pace or go slow if you’re having one of those days... Unfortunately I don't live in Alaska year round and I still haven't found Pilates classes in Europe that I enjoy as much as the Studio one classes! I'll really miss the Studio with all the great instructors, thanks for the fantastic classes and all your great work!

I've never dont pilates and it was offered as a class at UAA and I wanted to get in shape and it worked with my schedule. When I started to get more into the classes I realized it was exactly what I needed! I have back problems and I can feel just in the month I've been there a difference in my strength and my pain has gone down quite a bit, also I never realized you could build muscle in your feet! I have awful foot pains when I try to work out or even stand on one foot for two long and I was able to get past this here and learn how to continue to build my arch outside of the class, I recommend this for any one small big young and not as young!!
