Average in every way. Average cleanliness, services, you name it. Locker room could be cleaner. Always machines that are out of service. Someone insists on turning Fox News to 3 out of the 10 TV's. No paper towels in fitness room, only wet wipes, which are frequently out. No towels or amenities in locker room. No front desk person at night.

Deno is absolutely amazing and hands down my favorite personal trainer! She is so personable and always introduces herself to all the members at Body Renew. She’s given me many tools to grow, such as diet and training routines. I believe she is one of the most experienced & committed trainers around! Deno is focused on helping me accomplish my health and fitness goals and makes every session challenging, rewarding (and somehow fun). Deno knows exactly how to motivate me each at every personal training session we have together! I actually look forward to my workouts! I would highly, highly recommend Deno as a personal trainer if you’re wanting to achieve your fitness and health goals!

This review is long overdue. I started working out here last year for the Little Black Dress Challenge to give myself that little push to get back in the routine of working out to better myself. That's when I met Brady Dale. I fell off the wagon of coming to the gym and out of the blue he calls me to ask where I have been. At that moment I realized I had been making excuses on the reasons for not coming in a signed up for Brady to be my trainer. He isn't your ordinary run of the mill trainer...he is so much more. Brady cares about each and everyone of his clients. If you wanna get in shape or just up your workouts you NEED to check Brady out. Once you workout with him...you will never want to stop!

I have had my gym membership for over a year, and most of that time I have had personal training sessions with Brady Dale. Brady is a great motivater and was able to help my keep my weight gain healthy during my pregnancy by modifying my exercises. He's been a great resource after birth and when I last checked I am down 45lbs from when I gave birth. Training sessions are challenging but fun, I would recommend him to anyone.

My previous experiences with gyms have been disappointing-unfriendly staff, over priced, and cliques. After I paid off my last contract at a high priced AK gym, I swore I was done. However, it came to the point where I needed support and the accountability to start and maintain a healthier lifestyle. I found that through body renew and my personal trainer-Brady Dale. I have not felt embarrassed or uncomfortable (at least not psychological) in our sessions. He is able to motivate and push me so that I can become a healthier and stronger version of myself. The other plus is the wonderful child care available. I’m very thankful for this place.

Body Renew is nuce because ut us always open for members to workout. I am disappointed in the locker room. I think it is time to refurbish the whole locker room. When i first joined this club, there was a heavy bag that has since beem removed, which is also disappointing. There are always 1 or several treadmills tgat are out of order. Overall, the people are nice and the equipment is mostly good. Much less expensive than Alaska Club, so i would rather spend my time here.

First off, my daughter loves playing in the childcare. It is so nice not worrying while I workout and have me time. Secondly, this is the ONLY gym I have actually stuck with going to because of great staff and trainers. They really make you feel welcome and are genuinely happy to see you when you walk in. Lastly, Deno is by far my favorite personal trainer. She really makes it a point to get to know you and becomes a friend not just a trainer. Working with her has been a life changer for me. I had no idea I would have so much fun working out, doing classes/challenges, laughing, and losing pounds all in one. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone at any fitness level who is ready to CRUSH some goals!!!

BUYER BEWARE: The men's locker room is always trashed and 50% of the lockers wont actually lock. Read the contract carefully before you sign, they don't discuss everything with you up front. They have an "Enhancement Fee" on top of the "Annual Fee" and they say its to protect me from rising membership costs. Check your billing routinely for extra fees.

I am in my mid 50's and have been a member of this gym for about 7 years . Although some of the trainers are young and relatively inexperienced they are well trained fitness professionals, committed to individualized training, whether in a group or individual setting. I enjoy the variety of classes as well as personal training when it is all about me. Deno is my favorite trainer ever - as I am strong and fit and she got me to this point without making my muscles achy and sore everyday.

Literally one of the most disgusting bathrooms I've ever been in. Staff seems to never clean the bathrooms. Parents bring their kids and let them run free while no staff says anything. A few weeks ago I was here and a group of teens were literally fighting in the bathroom. If you go after hours you can expect to see people sneaking their friends in. Literally the only thing that Body Renew has going for them is that they're 24 hours. Take your money elsewhere.

MILITARY BEWARE! DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT! If you deploy they won't let you cancel it while you're gone! They will lie to you and twist the truth and continue charging you for months after you've cancelled. Then they will refuse to refund you and tell you it's your fault.

I had membership there ,it was a very good price, for what you get.Classes were pretty good, also variety was wonderful.You also get a key and have 24/7 access. I quit because I wanted a gym with swimming pool and sauna, Body renew unfortunately does not have these.Couple downsides: club is not very clean, also few stuff members were very inexperienced.

This place is nasty dirty and run like a joke. Equipment never gets cleaned by staff, and only a select few members clean up after themselves. Bathroom (men's) is NEVER clean, it's like a public gas station bathroom in there and I feel like I'm going to get a disease. This Wasilla location is exactly what you Don't want in a gym. Management: takes notes, planet fitness is coming to take your business away.

I like this gym but it’s not perfect. I’ve been to Zumba with Brittney (she’s amazing) and PiYo with Deno. I also had one complementary personal training session with Jon Anthony and he was awesome. Highly recommended. Some of the childcare workers I like, and some of them should be fired. I dislike the fact that they are inconsistent with who they hire for childcare. I often call to see who’s working before I bring my kids. The locker rooms are decent. The equipment is ALWAYS SOO dirty! Thick layers of dust on the equipment and the floors. It’s gross. The things keeping me here are the kind personal trainers, the view and the cheap membership.

Body Renew is a great place to go have a work out, has a number of trainers that will help you get started and meet your goal at an affordable price. I'm new to working out at a gym and am trying to put on weight. Having no clue where to begin I considered paying for a personal trainer. Brady Dale currently trains with me once a week at the gym and gives nutrition information to help meet my goal. The sessions have been an awesome help! If you'd like help understanding the how to's and need the extra push in a workout, ask for a personal trainer at Body Renew.

I've been going to Body Renew in Wasilla for about 4 years now. I usually go in the morning and attend the group fitness classes. I am a regular attendee of classes lead by Katherine and Deno. Both of these ladies ROCK! They are constantly innovating and bringing new moves to our classes. As a result, the workouts do not become stale... always something new and challenging being presented. I've also attended personal training sessions with Deno. This was my first time using a personal trainer. I (wrongly) assumed that I would be provided a cookie-cutter workout. However, Deno assessed my fitness level, goals, injury history, etc and created a program tailored just for me and my needs. Although I am just starting on this individual program, I know that it will help me maintain my current fitness level and help focus on the areas where I am weak. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my membership at Body Renew in Wasilla

Dirty bathrooms and cold showers. The only reason I got my membership was for the showers. I live off grid. I don't have running water or power, and this was supposed to be a place I could go and clean up before work. I have a professional job where going to work with greasy hair isnt acceptable. 9/10 times my showers have started freezing cold or mid shower (with soap still in my hair) the hot water stops working. It's alaska... Its cold outside. Nobody wants to come in and get blasted with ice cold water when it's below freezing outside. I have politely brought this issue up to them. The company is ran by young and unprofessional staff. They have never acted sincerely concerned about any of my complaints. The last young lady I talked to said "yeah we know. Management just doesn't seem to do anything about it." I feel as though they are taking advantage of me and my money because they are false advertising and don't work towards changing this. The bathrooms are also dirty. Baseboards are peeling off, the walls are dirty, and showers are gross. I have seen mold in the cracks of the tile. If you go here just to work out I think it's a great deal. But if you care about personal hygiene, a hot shower, or a well managed facility I would not support this business. Your money would be better utilized somewhere else. Posted on the photos section is a picture of the mildew and mold in the showers.

I would highly recommend Body Renew! The entire staff is so encouraging and helpful. I came to Body Renew for the Little Black Dress challenge and was a "newbie" to the gym. Brady Dale has been a great motivator throughout the whole challenge. He is always professional and super encouraging. Initially, I thought I would spend most of my time on the treadmill but after hitting a couple of group classes I am hooked on those! I am enjoying my time at Body Renew!

It’s a really small gym for as many gym memberships that they hand out so you have to wait forever to get hands on the equipment you want to use. It’s the cheapest gym around but it’s almost not worth it. Equipment isn’t updated and it takes months for equipment to get fixed when broken. There’s only one legit squat rack that doubles as the only flat bench and that’s always in use as well. The only reason we stay is because they offer after hours access.

If I could give this gym 0 stars I would. My husband and I were looking for a gym in the valley and came across Body Renew via a friend from work. We weren't big fans of the facilities, but for $45 a month, we didn't want to complain. However, once we started going regularly, we were even more disappointed with the facilities. The tanning beds were terrible and we had no result after using their tanning equipment 5 times. I almost always had issues with the tv's working on the treadmills. There was almost always a line for the weight equipment and it was dirty. Since we were unhappy with the state of the gym and equipment, we started looking at other gyms and decided to cancel our Body Renew membership. My husband and I went into the club to close both of our accounts. Since we had paid the last month's dues at the time of sign-up, we were told that there would be no more additional fees and that our accounts would be closed at the end of the billing cycle. What we were not told is that one day before our account was to close, the annual fee was going to hit our account. 3 months later, we begin to get phone calls saying that we owe the gym almost $100 on each of our accounts. Come to find out, since we never paid the yearly fee (that we were not aware of), our accounts were not cancelled and we were still be charged for the gym membership that we apparently cancelled. When speaking with a representative on the phone from the main offices, I was told that our account would not be cancelled until the yearly fee was paid and that there is no way to reverse that charge (even though we were told that we would not owe anything else when we cancelled our accounts). At least they waived the additional monthly fees and late fees that were added to our accounts. The most frustrating part of canceling the account is how rude and condescending the manager at the main office was to me. When one of your employees makes a mistake and doesn't inform a customer about a fee, there is a problem. Make sure your employees know the ins and outs of membership if they are going to be opening/closing accounts. If you never plan to close your membership with Body Renew, don't mind using poorly maintained equipment, and have no desire to use the tanning beds, I'm sure this gym will be a great place for your membership. However, my husband and I will gladly pay a little bit more for a family membership at The Alaska Club where there are much nicer facilities and kind, knowledgable staff.

I love that it is 24/7, and the trainer Kathy is AMAZING!!! However, there is not enough room for more than one woman to get ready in the morning, the cleaning materials are never stocked, and the media are regularly not working. It feels like Wasilla was forgotten.

Shady company. I called to cancel service 2 hours after signing up. Never received an access card, never stepped back on to the premise. Some years later a later a collection agency is trying to get me for $800ish dollars because the company never cancelled a membership I didn't have for more then 2 hours. I guess someone wanted to keep their commission. Called to figure out how this could even happen. Explained I never even got issued a membership card and have never utilized the services I refused and cancelled. They could care less. A lot of business could be handled with basic reasonableness and professionalism just not any kind of business with them. I hate that I even have to give this horrible company 1 star.

Horrible place! They conned us into buying 2 memberships, lied about the price & the billing structure. Kept trying to charge us double for months after we cancelled our memberships. Their customer service is out of state(Texas, if I remember correctly) and no one was willing to take responsibility for the financial mess that they created. Can get pretty crowded at times but it is open 24 hours, so you can always find a time. I go around 5:30 AM, it starts to fill up around 6. Clean and affordable. Not a large choice of free weights but you can get swole.

Great facility! I went with this gym because of the 24 hour access, but they have so much more to offer. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, there are different choices of equipment, and the classes are fun. I started seeing Brady Dale as my personal trainer on a regular basis a couple of years ago and he has helped me tremendously! He continues to motivate me and give me tools to succeed. Especially after surgery and injuries he has worked to find a routine that would work for me and get me to meet goals. He pushes me to do better every week!

Body Renew Review I joined BR in February 2016 right after moving to Alaska where I didn’t know anyone and was already extremely self conscious. Brady sat down with me and we created a plan. Over the next couple of months I lost 15 lbs, got myself a better job, started to make friends, and over all became more confident. I have always been so worried about my body but I have been able to build a pride about how hard I can work when I put my mind to it. Brady was the one that showed me how to find that pride and confidence in myself. He really helped me turn that corner and make a change that I wasn’t able to do alone. He had been by my side throughout the entire journey and I couldn’t be more grateful. He’s an amazing trainer and creates an amazing support system for his clients!

Liked the facility, staff is nice. Main office in Anchorage however, different story. Called to see if i could buy nationwide upgrade because I'd be working out of state for a couple of months. Turns out, "No, we are an individual franchise. But we can suspend you account until you get back." Great, did that. Later, find I've been charged. Call to see what's going on, I'm told theres no record of my call, even though I'm able to go back and can tell them the exact date and time. For both calls to the local location, and the next call to Anchorage main office. "Ma'am, we have seasoned people here, you must be mistaken." So I ask what I can do... "We can suspend your account for next month." ....right, I'll be back next month. 100 bucks out of pocket, not even in the same state. Many, many, possible solutions here. Credit for upcoming months, partial refund, at minimum an apology? Nope, none of the above. Cancelled. I'll pay more a couple miles further down the road to not get terrible customer service and give 100 dollar plus for nothing. Thanks, but no thanks. Sorry Wasilla BR, your location was good. BR Alaska, I hope it was worth it to lose a potential long term customer over so little, (Anchorage main office.) It won't last long if you treat everyone like this.

First of all, body renew is cheap in price. By far cheaper than any other gym in wasilla to anchorage. Second, I’ve never been ignored at body renew when I needed help. I’m 21 and I never thought I needed a personal trainer either, and when I thought about it and the price I was scepticle at first. But when I had my first session with Brady Dale, I knew with his help I can flip my life around. It’s been almost 2 months and I’ve seen significant progress in my body and the way I’m growing now. Better posture, toned muscles, and more confidence. I can’t thank these guys enough for turning my life around. And whoever is reading this should give these guys a chance! It’ll be worth it, I promise!

When I signed up, I opted for a personal trainer. I had little stamina, and asked to start my program with walking and jogging. The trainer started the program with jogging and running, and showed no interest in working WITH me. I decided it was not for me, but by having signed a lengthy contract was bound to pay for an entire year. I could pay my way out of the contract by paying half of the yearly amount. After I received my PFD I paid around 800 bucks to be released from he Personal Trainer Program. I did keep the regular membership, but ended up not using the facilities because it wasn't clean. In February 60+ dollars were pulled from my bank account, which was the regular monthly fee plus a "maintencance fee." My contract expired end of February, and I cancelled it March 1st. Now, March 5th I received an email from BR that I have an outstanding balance of $54.18, and unless I pay it BR will not accept my cancellation. Trying to contact them by phone was unsuccessful: "Leave a message." Needless to say, I am extremely dissatisfied with their customer service, and their policies. I like to add that I am a tolerant person, have only once before complained about a company in public, and never before on a forum. And yes, all of what they do is LEGAL, as it is spelled out in their smallprint multi page, laywer-languaged contract.

I have had my membership for about six months and didn't start to really use it until recently. Brady has been a god send he is extremely motivating and modifies exercises for me as needed. I am very glad that I have him as a trainer. I look forward to many more sessions with him.
