This is the first gym that i have ever felt comfortable working out in, let alone walking into. I love the atmosphere, nobody is being "judgy", and you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for a personal trainer. They can hel..p you set up your workout plan.

Clean place, friendly staff, and all different types of equipment (not only resistence equipment as I have been told before, but free weights too). You are not allowed to make any loud noises during exercise which is a silly rule to me, but they say that other guests may be intimidated by someone being loud while working out HAHAHAHA

When I signed up I didnt like how the black girl at the desk looked at my clothes and my hair Then decided to ask me to step aside so she can assist the white guy name who came in the door after I did.and after showing all of us around the gym, decided to send me to another girl to get a membership while she sign up the white guy who came in behind me.i was there first, im a paying customer just the same as this guy, whatever happen to first come first serve?they say no judgement, that is a lie...but I did not come there for their friendships anyhow, I came there to workout, so screw their opinions....let me get started!!!! Also I really do not care all that much for the strict rules..you know the part that says no grunting or loud heavy breathing when lifting weights, you make too much noise they dound the alarm on you like its a fire drill in elementary school...these are adults...really?

Snotty rude black female on night shift sits around flirting with men all night. Very unprofessional. Filthy bathrooms, black card a joke, sorry massage chair you gotta wait around for. A bunch of broken equipment, over crowded. As soon as you walk away from a machine to get a breather someone else is on it can't finish workout. The music is the worst! Same 10 songs looping over and over, fat out of shape employees walking around eating pizza... The worst!

My experience with this location was disappointing to say the least. I sent a certified letter to end my membership in August 2018. I was called on the Aug. 17th and was informed that my letter was received but my membership couldn’t be canceled due to having a balance from March 2017. My monthly membership fee had been drafted every month and I wasnt aware of the balance. I was informed the $19 would have to be paid prior to canceling the membership. I had someone walk in the payment due to being out of state. My membership was not canceled and I was charged for another month. When I contacted the manager he stated they have no record of receiving the letter. The customer service I received was poor. It should not be this difficult to cancel a membership.

The manager I can't think of her name. An old white woman with split ends is the rudest woman I have ever met. She accused me of cussing out her staff wich never happened. She then took my card and hid it behind her back like a little kid. She wanted to explain what she thought happened. I repeatedly asked for my card back and she kept stating that if I was unhappy she would gladly cancel my memebership. Anyways Alaska Club is better and has more professional staff.

I love going to Planet Fitness as there are so many times you can go and work out, plus the people there are so friendly and helpful! I have never seen a messy room or workout station! I only have one complaint that really bothers me. When people come to work out they insist on bringing cell phones to "keep up" with whatever is so important they have to look at them constantly while working out. I don't mind if they use them when they run the treadmill or bike or any equipment except the universal gym equipment. They sit on one piece of equipment and make phone calls and check their e-mail or whatever and tie up the machines while others are waiting to use them! This gets very annoying when you are on a time crunch! please ask them to limit their use of cell phones or tablets to the equipment that doesn't require someone to wait for them to finish!

I got a PF membership, because I was in the military and traveled a lot. This is one of the BEST PF gyms I've been to in the many states and many cities in which I've lived. They got new equipment about a year ago, the staff is pleasant, and the patrons are regulars.

I joined about a year or so ago and am now appalled at how quickly this has deteriorated. It is not the end all be all as portrayed by Biggest Loser. They don't maintain their equipment properly and they don't have knowledgeable employees working there The women's bathroom is atrocious. I would imagine if the state health department walked in they would receive a citation. For the price it was excellent. I'll still go, but have written them so they will look into some of my concerns.

TLDR: These people will scam you and steal from you. Don't trust the low monthly fee, it isn't worth it. This place is sustained by people doing shady things and hoping you are too busy to notice it. If you look through the low star reviews here, you'll see so many other people who have had this happen to them, going back years. This is not an isolated incident, or a case of user error. Planet Fitness has a predatory billing setup and they prey on people who are unable to stand up for themselves. I want so badly to leave a five star review. I lived in Anchorage for the year of 2017, and signed up for a basic membership just to have somewhere safe to run. In that respect, it's a perfectly functional space. When I signed up, I signed up for a year-long membership, dues to be drawn directly from my bank account (There wasn't another way to pay), and I was assured that when my membership expired I would obviously not be charged any longer. It would be my responsibility at that time to renew it as a month-to-month account. They specified that it would be my responsibility to keep the membership going, not my responsibility to keep it from going. This sounded good, because I knew I was planning to move in the next year and I didn't have use for a long-term membership. When I moved away, I had a very long discussion with the front desk associate about the fact that I was leaving, couldn't transfer membership because they didn't have a facility where I was going, and wanted to cancel early. I was informed that I couldn't do that, but that I could either pay the cancellation charge now, or wait for the membership to expire. It was only a couple months, so I wasn't too fussed about it. They said it would expire and the charge would stop, and made a note that I've moved away, so I trusted it would be fine and decided to just let it run out. At the point I left, I'd been assured twice now that my membership would expire in the spring of 2018 and that former members were not charged for monthly dues. It would be insane to charge a non-member for membership dues, right? Obviously if that were the case I wouldn't be writing here. Over a year after I moved away and was told my membership would naturally expire, I was still being charged. When I called in to cancel, I was told I was not allowed to cancel over the phone. Apparently the fact that I cancelled because I was no longer in Alaska was utterly lost on them because they kept demanding I report in person. They also stated that I would never be repaid the unauthorized charges they'd made during the year that I've been away. After much arguing, and me not budging on this, the person on the phone sighed and admitted I could send a representative to cancel on my behalf (aside: how is sending a random person more secure than calling from the phone number associated with my membership?). I ended up scrounging up and sending SEVERAL before I finally received an emailed cancellation notice. I've since attempted return contact regarding the cancellation, because nowhere on the paper does it specify that I will no longer be charged. I have also inquired about the remittance of all unauthorized charges, because I consider this to be theft. I have yet to receive any response. This review might be removed, because negative reviews so often are, but I'm not going away quietly, because what they are doing is so wrong. So to whoever can read this before it is taken away: These people are able to charge so little for monthly memberships because their business runs on charging people who no longer go there, hoping that they won't notice. They take your bank account information and continue to charge you, never accepting payment from a credit card or checks, because those can be cancelled much more easily. They'll lie to you repeatedly, and do anything they can to keep skimming money from you. Their entire business depends not on providing good service, not on being honest, but on doing shady things and hoping you are too distracted to notice it. You're so much better off anywhere else.

Benson Blvd is my favorite location. The gym is typically jam packed from 6-9 very busy time and would not go around this time as you can't get a decent workout in. I'd recommend going at 5:am.

I take great pride in working at such an awesome fitness club. This is by far the cleanest gym I have ever been a member of (and I'm not just saying that because I clean it myself). I truly enjoy coming into work everyday to work with my awesome co-workers. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming to absolutely anyone who is looking for a judgement free place to workout. It's also nice to workout in an area where people are not constantly slamming weights and grunting, makes me feel as if I can actually workout rather than compete with my neighbor.

I had to leave this gym after being a member for 5 years. I enjoyed the price, variety of equipment, and the facilities. But they would not enforce their own rules on what’s allowed in the gym and the distractions were too much. People FaceTiming on full volume on the treadmills, guys unnecessarily dropping weights, and one weird kid sitting on the smith machine weight bar and spinning backwards on it. Full disregard for respecting other people’s space/workouts and the staff let it all slide. I had two conversations with the staff at the desk to step it up and I saw no improvements. They lost me, my gf, and my friend.

I travel for work and was hoping to get a workout in on a Saturday before going in to work and was super disappointed to see the parking lot empty and doors locked at 4am on Saturday. I had been a Planet Fitness customer for more than 3 years now ,all works good so far for me, staff,equipment and location.So I convinced my wife to leave her expensive Gym and try Planet Fitness.So in the middle of November , 3 days before my membership expires; I did renew my year membership paying the one time $199 fee and she started hers the same way of pay. Then a couple of weeks later we both received an offer to join for $99 a year . When my wife asked the manager on duty at Benson's about it she said they can not honor that offer because we already have paid! That email was sent to both of us , there is no rules or fine printing that said we can not use it. Planet Fitness if you are not going to honor an offer that you emailed why you have sent that ? We feel that this is a kick in the butt for a loyal customer and really make me think that this will be my last year with you and go somewhere else ! I feel so frustrated!

I like this gym. There is plenty of equipment and I have never had a problem with the ladies locker room, like another reviewer mentioned. I will admit that I wish they had more knowledgeable staff. I wish they offered true personal training. And I wish the staff were prohibited from having their friends hang out at the desk. The only real problem that I had is with other gym users. They tend to be discourteous. They are not understanding that they are not the only ones who must use equipment.

I enjoy going to planet fitness. Almost all of the equipment is in working order. It is generally pretty clean, but I did notice barely anyone cleans the equipment after they use it, So I've started wiping down the equipment before and after use. The employees are pretty meh. They don't really smile and kind of have an apathetic attitude. Which is better than an overzealous attitude but could use some work. It truly is a no judgement atmosphere and that is the biggest thing for me. I am a member and continue to be one for a long time!

Planet fitness has been charging my account over the last three years even after I have sent in multiple letters, uncertified and certified to cancel my account. They have been sneaky and have charged different amounts when we have blocked them out of desperation to have them stop. They have never called back when they guaranteed that they would. They have given misinformation from the start and have cost me a lot of money, time, inconvenience, and stress. Worst place of business I have ever had to deal with.

There's really nothing to hate about the PF on Crossover. I had this fear PF would go so hard on its stance for "Fitness Equality" that it would end up shaming people who do intense workouts, but I was wrong. It really is a judge free zone.

I've been a member of this club for awhile but just recently since transferring back to the Montgomery, Al I've started having a horrible experiences. I was told that I needed to transfer my home club from Birmingham back to Montgomery and the only way I can do that would be online. The only problem w/ that is that their website sucks and will not give me access to my acct. When I tried to talk to one of the staff member about what's going on the seem unconcerned and unwilling to help. Staff member Alec Long in particular is very rude and unconcerned about their club members. I've never been treated so rudely about a service I'm paying my hard earned money for in my life. Alec was suppose to be talking to my home club about my situation once he hung up he purposely allowed me just to stand in the lobby looking foolish. He did not even tell me that he had already spoken to my home club and neither did he express the outcome. He just allowed me to stand there. I would've never known he had already spoken to my club until I called the Birmingham location back (from my cell bc Alex would not allow me to use the club phone as though I'm a common criminal). This is horrible customer service and something really needs to be done about this. I've never been treated so horrible in my life. I will be transferring my membership to another gym all bc of the unwilling to solve my problem. The only thing the staff wants to do is publicly embarass me by denying me access to the facility. Also when you ask for a corporate number or contact info all staff members deny you that info.

Pretty nice gym. Tons of equipment. The Hydromassage is okay, I like the massage chairs better being they're a bit firmer. The only thing I don't like is the hours. They close at 7pm on weekends. Way too early.

I have been with this gym for a couple years now and everything has been fine until recently. My workout usually goes as follows: I stretch then make my way to the elliptical for 15/20 mins. After that I do the 30 min workout circuit. When Im done with that I may go to the treadmill or just stretch depending on how much time I have. I tell you this because over the last couple months my workout has been disrupted by a trainer training ppl in the 30 min workout room. Im a single mother and my gym time is very strategically place in my day and for an allotted amount of time only. I have noticed that when they train in there it throws off everyone. I know I have just had to abort my workout several times due to this happening. It is very annoying. When they do this they are not moving from one equipment to another nor are they following the light. They just take up whatever equipment they want with no concern about the other ppl in the room that are using the 30 min circuit!! I do not like this at all. I hope they read this and change it.

Good gym. The place is growing on me. Have been gym shy for years from bad experiences, so far this place has relaxed my opinion back to favoring gym memberships. Good price, good extras, clean, nice staff, and just about everything you could want in a basic gym. I hear that it can get busy at times, but that has not been my experience yet, at least not what I would call busy. Don't let the 4 stars fool you, this is a good place at a good price, I just save 5 star ratings for places that are over the top great.

Clean, spacious, and many pieces of equipment to use for any exercise you can think of. Lots of treadmills and other cardio-related machines to suit the needs of the general population, and quite a few weight-training machines as well. For some reason, their projector screen hasn't worked for the last few weeks, and their WiFi has been a bit spotty. Other than those small issues, this location is a great addition to the PF ecosystem.

Great for what it is. Staff, machines, and weights are nice. This just isn’t a serious gym if thats something you are interested in. They have an alarm that sounds if you place weights down too loudly which I just repeatedly set off without even dropping my dumbells that hard. If my company didn’t pay for my membership, I would go elsewhere due to the atmosphere that seems to make fun of people who are serious about working out. They should rename it to “Politically Correct Fitness”

It's a Planet Fitness. So in general you know what to expect, and for the most part this place delivers. It's clean. Staff seems friendly. Equipment appeared to be well maintained But unfortunately I can only give 3 out of 5 stars. If you're used to big city locations and those near major metropolitan areas, you might be somewhat taken aback visiting here like I did. They are NOT 24 hours. They close EARLY on Fridays. 9 pm! This came as a total shock to me. Glad I got it when I did so at least I got SOME lifting in before the advisement was made that in 10 minutes they were closing. Men's showers are clean but somewhat poorly lit. The dark paint in the shower stall only makes it seem even darker with the inadequate lighting. In conclusion, a good place to get a workout. DO NOT SIGN UP with this gym. you will be highly disappointed in the end. none of the employees know the policies. there is never a "real manager" available. your paper work says month to month but they will hold your bank account hostage. LA fitness is only about 10 bucks more but has a waaaaay better customer friendly customer services and treat people AND THEIR MONEY much better. I would not recommend this gym to my dog. spend your money where it would be appreciated

It's planet fitness! The staff are all kind and helpful, always happy to greet you and answer my questions no matter how ridiculous. If you have their deluxe membership which is really only $10 more a month, you get extras like free tanning and this hydromassage and you can bring a friend with you for free anytime. If you had a confirmed gym buddy only one of you would need a membership. They have a large number of cardio machines such as treadmills and bicycles, and usually enough weight machines you don't have to wait very long. And tootsie rolls. And showers. And no judgement

Is this hole still open? I thought they were shut down after they were proven to continuously charge people after they moved out of state... Some people I know were unknowingly charged hundreds of dollars after Planet Fitness promised to cancel their 1-year subscription and then promptly didn’t. Don’t give these cons your business whatever you do. *Update:* PF’s response really struck a chord with me so now I get to rebut: “Our members can always expect transparency in our dealings... “ Transparency? Great. That doesn’t preclude you from changing your mind about what customers can expect from you (after they’ve left the state and stopped using your service for instance). You said service would cancel automatically after a prescribed period and then you didn’t cancel it. You were transparent about your plan until you went back on it. And yes, if customers have questions, you’ll answer them. You’ll answer them by telling them you won’t lift a finger to give them their money back. This greedy corporate sleeze is right on the wagon with Comcast and other scammer subscriptions. Now throw some of those sweet company values like “transparency” at me that will excuse that nonsense.

I have been to all in the area, this one has the best equipment but the worst staff. I mean really if you hate your job that much others will hire you if you are worth the wage you think your are worth. I Iove this place. I love that there's always room to do what I came to do. At another gym I used to go too (won't bash there name) but I was always waiting for an area to clear. Or someone to get off a treadmill or someone to move from the dumb bells so I could do something. I'd have to go elsewhere to kill time before using the area I wanted. Not here. There was only one time that I was here and all the treadmills were taken. So I used an elliptical. And crushed the workout. Totally fine. The staff is super friendly here. I feel like they're my friends. I love coming here. And I appreciation the size of the locker rooms. That is so awesome. I hated changing in a bathroom. I felt rushed in case someone needed to use it. Here, I take all the time I need.

These guys are scam artists!!! Signed up for a black card membership, and at time there was no mention of any type of time commitment in regards to the membership. However, when I tried to cancel my membership today I was informed that I would have to pay $60 because the membership came with a "1 year commitment," even though there was no mention of this obligation at the time I signed the membership. When I mentioned this the employees made no effort to help resolve this issue even though it was clearly their fault. Gym is also pretty crappy, STAY AWAY!

I have been going to this gym for over 6 years. It has improved a lot as far as machines and massage equipment. I do feel that there should be less tanning beds and more other options. Tanning beds are only for Whites. So That’s catering more to one race. On a positive note, I attend the 30 minute circuit training 3 times a week. David, the trainer, is the BEST. . I was in Anchorage Alaska roughly a year ago. I stayed in an Embassy Suites directly next door to a planet fitness. I did a one month membership and cancelled before I left. I have since been charges a monthly fee of 10 for the past year for a gym that is in Anchorage Alaska. The manager is incredibly unprofessional and told me they don't have a customer service number on your website because planet fitness does not want to be contacted. She then refused to give me contact info to any of her superiors. She is asking me to produce a cancellation contract from over a year ago that I do not have and insisting that I am a current member.

I'm a black card member from Florida and while visiting my sister, I decided to bring her as a guest because she was thinking about joining. I realize that the massage beds and chairs are for black cars members only but as she was thinking about joining, I asked if I could bring her back to test the beds and chairs so she could see if it was worth it for her to join. They would not let her test either of them. The staff would not budge. They were not very friendly and they definitely lost a potential member. Not very good for business...

Overall this is a great place to workout and the price is the best in town. I've noticed that I personally am sensitive to the cleaners used on equipment and the tanning beds and have heard similar complaints from others but showering right after generally stops any reaction. The big motivation killer is that the 30 minute cycle area is basically unusable because of people who go back there and stay on one or two pieces of equipment for prolonged periods of time or people sitting on equipment using their phones and taking selfies. When I first started going I wanted to make it a goal to do the cycle once or twice a week since it really seemed to kick my butt but I could never complete the whole cycle due to the lingering people.

Never been to a Planet Fitness before only seen the commercials on TV. I was amazed to see how casual the atmosphere was but you never felt ignored. For the price and the join in specials I would have to say it's probably the best gym I've been to ever. Not to mention the wide variety of equipment weights and even a circuit room for a quick 30 minute workout. The only two things that I wish it had would be a hot tub and towels available for the members.

I love the staff, but there should be a dress code. There is a girl here in what looks like bikini bottoms. I think the staff should say something. For under $25/month you have world class free weights, weight machine, tanning, infrared detex (they call it body enhancement) machine, and shower rooms. This is the best deal/gym I've ever seen. There's also a plan that is around $15 a month that gets you the basics, just working out, no tanning, no detox. Also, there's no sign up fee. And you pay month to month, even on contract, no $150+ up front fees. Fantastic. The only problem I've encountered is the treadmills at this location (Not sure if it's the same at all locations) really really sucks, old,. very unfortunate. I do high intensity interval training on my cardio days on treadmill and at my old gym (U of A HPER) they have amazing treadmills. But the treadmills at this location only offers very basic functions... Kind of like the treadmills you'll find at a cheap, low-end apartment complex. But bottom line, this is the best gym/best deal I've ever seen. #Update: Most of the staff are friendly. There are a lot of older people hanging out here and they don't like people not "spray down" after each equipment they use. I was just doing some workouts in my tank top and some old lady complained to staff. The policy is wipe down when you finish as a courtesy, but if you worked out at any gym you know people don't wipe down unless it was really bad. To the complainers, this is not a hospital, it's a gym. You will see sweats, you will sweat yourself... Go home and take a shower. Imagine all the paper we can save by not wiping down after every use... And besides, the staff told me they wipe everything every 30 minutes anyways.

Just another sub-par gym in the business only to make money. As a visitor to Phenix City, I stopped by the gym to ask for accommodations for my two-week stay in the area. The previous gym and its owners (and literally ALL other gyms I’ve visited in the US and abroad) always did what it took to allow me to exercise—and at a fair price. It would be silly to pay for a month considering I’ll only be here for two weeks, and it makes no sense to pay $10 a day for each visit. A fair price of $25 for half a month’s membership makes sense in this case and is just good business practice so that if I’m ever in an area with a Planet Fitness I’d recall their good deed and would be more inclined to consider them as my full-time gym. Well, you’d better believe that will never happen. This is just unbridled capitalism run amuck. The worker, K_n said his hands were basically tied and that “it” just couldn’t be done. (Not the $25/half month deal, but ANY accommodation outside of the daily, monthly or yearly scheme.) That kind of inflexibility lets you know that they are just scabs seeking to make money. I do know this one thing: I’ll never visit another one of their gyms, and I’ll be sure to tell anyone who mentions this sad excuse of a business to beware and to think twice before falling for them.

I've been a member here for about 6 months and, so far, haven't had any issues. The billing has been accurate and billed as explained prior to my signing a contract. There are busier times (the typical lunch and after work crowds), but I don't think I've ever been at a loss of finding a piece of equipment open that I intended to use. The staff members that signed me on are great! They are professional, knowledgable and kind. They remember regulars and seem genuinely happy to see familiar faces. They recently (spring 2015) signed on some younger crew that could work on their professionalism, but, given the professionalism of the crew these kids are learning from, I have no doubt that they'll get up to speed soon. Clean, affordable, well-maintained.

Joined this week to try some of the group sessions because I am bored with working out alone. The day after I join and register for the group sessions I’m interested in, they remove all sessions for two weeks. I only joined for the sessions because I have two gyms at work I can use for free. When I called and inquired about it, they didn’t offer me a refund, discount or anything when I basically can’t use the service I paid for. I understand things come up but how can they only have one instructor for all of the sessions with no substitute? And then refuse to compensate for a lack of advertised services?

Love this PF! Easily the best location around. Real gym guys make fun of PF for a lit of good reasons, but this location is the exception. Others than no free weight barbells, it has everything, the staff is wonderful. Aaron, the in house trainer, is very knowledgeable. Pricing was super affordable. I go on my lunch for a hydromassage at no additional cost and look forward to my visits all week. Surprisingly clean locker rooms are an amazing plus, given how most places are. Showers are a little low on hot water, but that is less of an issue with the recent plumbing work. 5 star location.

Sent a letter to cancel my membership, as their website instructed, and two weeks later was charged $42 for club fees. went in today to confirm my cancellation and was told by management that "the letter must have gotten lost in the shuffle" and they will not be refunding me for the yearly dues. Watch out when cancelling your membership!!! Cancelled my membership and asked if I would get charged for another month and was told no at the gym. Just called them now because I was charged (OF COURSE) and was told that I was a couple days too late in cancelling my membership so they would have to charge me an extra month. I understand that, don't get me wrong. But that's why I ASKED, so I could put money into the account that they pull money from. But no, I was misinformed, and now I have to pay a huge insufficient funds fee at the bank on top of a month of membership I obviously didn't want anymore. Just awesome! (: *all sarcasm intended

Just started working out here. They have really nice machines and weights. It's big but it's a pretty chill place. There is a full range of beginner and pro athlete and bodybuilders that go here. People are nice and friendly but mostly keep their ear buds in. Can't beat the 10 a month price. Start up fee of 38$. No contract.

The hours are great, equipment is maintained. All the way up to the manager, except for one or two employees who I’ve known before their employment, I wouldn’t boast of their friendliness. In fact I’d bet on their desire for you to leave as quickly as possible. I imagine they don’t treat their employees all that well

Employees/staff/trainers, are excellent!!! They are extremely professional and knowledgeable. Someone is always Cleaning in this gym, & really appreciate this! The restrooms, locker rooms, workout areas are always clean. Equipment is new and in great working condition. Plenty of equipment to use, so that every muscle group can be worked. There is a free weight area, multiple cable machines, smith machines, treadmills & countless other cardio equipment. Gym is spacious, even when busy. Parking is plentiful. Overall an excellent gym. Highly recommend!

very judgeful and condemning staff was kicked out for doing workouts. very dissapointed needed a place to go in alaska. paid for this and it was not honorable i day dream of holding the manager accounbtable for their demonic actions.... your high priest... they condemn that which they dont understand and they sure dont understand much... very judgemental does not recognize that which is bad and good one day i will show them for sure cause they condemned someone for helping me.. Facility is always clean. The staff greets you when you enter and when you leave. The cardio or weight machines are rarely crowded. The atmosphere is very relaxed and low-key. I like that the parking lot is pretty well lit at night which makes me feel safer during late night workouts.

THEIVES!!! I was recently in a major collision on the interstate and these guys absolutely REFUSED to cancel the co tract even though I physically couldn't make it in. So I removed my debit card from the account. What they did next was absolutely stealing. My friend had gone in ONCE and bought a drink from them on the guest account and so they charge him the contract fee. I'm in the process of writing the attorney general to file an official complaint for this business, as well as looking into options for a lawsuit. DO NOT GO HERE and DO NOT PUT ANY CARD ON FILE.

Absolutely love this facility, went on a Thursday night when they were open all night. My husband and I had a great work out. The facility was very clean, and we got a great work out in. This facility comes highly recommended.

Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They really are "judgment-free"- I have never felt like anyone there was acting inappropriately towards anyone else like I have at other gyms (shaming, staring, hitting on people that clearly aren't interested, etc). I love that tanning and massage equipment are included for the $22/month membership. They can be crowded at times, but they even provide paper schedules that list their busiest hours so it is very easy to just go at a different time. The only improvement I would make is more free weight equipment, such as barbells with interchangeable weights.

There are definitely things that make PF less rigorous then a traditional gold gym style model. However, the price is unbearable and you get a much better value for your dollar. My one complaint is the relative lack of free weight equipment, which is often crowded and can make a quick workout tahr twice as long.

I have been a member for a year, it is a great place to workout. Some members can make you feel uncomfortable only if you pay attention to them. Being over-crowded is normal in a gym if you go at crunch time (between 4pm -9pm) everyone is coming out from work or school and wants to workout there is nothing they can do about it. PS: It is open 24 hrs for a reason.

This was my first planet fitness or "commercial gym" I had ever been to and my overall experience was very likable, I went with a friend that was a member we had a good time and got some work done all the while. It's very clean and well laid out with seemingly new equipment.. And we were never alone, people mind there own but it is a fairly busy place. 10/10

The people are very friendly and the staff are okay... i had a question for the trainer who was deep in conversation with someone so i havw manners and didnt want to interrupt. I normally will say pardon me and ask my question however there was no break in the conversation! She glanced at me a couple times before i walked off. I let it go. Not knowing someone else was watching. The customer was highly pissed that she completely ignored me and he stood up and said something. I dont let that incident bother me because i am on a mission and i pay my dues.

I contacted this location on August 8th asking to transfer my membership, as I had moved out of town. The person at the gym said I needed to come in to transfer locations. I repeated that I no longer live in Anchorage, and have no way of coming in to do this. She said she would have a manager call me the following Monday, and took my name and number. A month later, having never heard from anyone, I happened to be visiting family in Anchorage and took time out of my three day trip to go in and cancel my membership. I was told that since I officially signed up on October 10th last year, and it is not past October 10th, I would have to pay $60 to cancel my membership. I pointed out to the girl at the counter, Jade, that I have been charged 12 payments, the last of which was for services that I physically could not use, and said I did not want to continue paying for services that your gym was not letting me use. Jade told me there is no way to cancel a membership before the "official" date it started, regardless of the fact that the 12th month after I started my membership was this month. I would have to come in to the gym after October 10th to sign the cancellation paperwork. So I asked to go ahead and transfer my membership to the location closer to me, so that I could go to that gym after it had passed the year-mark. She told me that not only can she not do that in the store (after this is what I had originally been told needed to be done), even if I transfer my membership to another location, I would STILL need to come in to that location to cancel. Um, what? You're telling me that if I moved across the country and transfer my membership, I somehow need to make it back to my original gym to cancel a membership? Jade also informed me that if I wanted to transfer to another location, I had to do that online. Which means that the person I spoke to OVER A MONTH AGO lied to me, wasted $20 of my money, and wasted my time. Jade told me the only other option I had was sending a letter by certified mail after October 10th cancelling my membership. So at the very minimum, I have to wait for another billing cycle to go through and pay your business another $20 for literally NOTHING, AND I have to spend $10 sending a piece of paper saying exactly what I said today. I asked to speak with a manager, and was told there was not one there. I asked for Jade to call a manager and she said she would not. I then asked if I could leave a letter signed by me saying to cancel my membership on October 10th for the manager, and she told me she "can't just leave a piece of paper on the desk." I then asked if I could reduce the amount that I am being charged to $10/month since I am physically unable to use this gym, and Jade told me that if I change my membership fee, my year-long contract is re-started. So, I said to Jade, to get this straight, after your management refused to transfer my membership as I had originally requested, refused to contact me back about my request, has charged me for services that I can't use, my ONLY options are to either pay $60 today, OR to pay another monthly fee PLUS either drive back to Anchorage a month from now, or spend money sending a "certified letter" - your business is going to do NOTHING to correct the issue that YOU created? At this point, Jade told me to leave because she was tired of arguing with me. This has been a horrendous customer service experience to say the least, regardless of the waste of money. Your employees have lied to me and misinformed me, either refused to pass along the original request to management or management refused to contact me back, and further, they have been rude to me and wasted my time. I had NO issues while I was using this location, and was more than happy to transfer my membership to another location when I needed to move, but at this point, I would NEVER use your business, nor would I recommend it to anyone I know.
