My wife and I joined the gym about three months ago. We got memberships plus my wife and I joined team classes. The trainers and in particular the management of the training classes are awful. The coaches in the training classes are completely mismanaged by Scott. In my experience I had a great trainer. The team cut class had at least 12 constant members. Scott the manager of the team forced out a great trainer because he did not agree with her program she had crafted for all of us. Then with little notice the trainer left and Scott had no plan to try and keep the members in the class. A new trainer was brought in with no plan to transition the team. After about three months of work was blown away because this political internal non-sense damaged the members and the team was essentially broken up. Ifetime is a nice facility. Kept clean. Great kids programs. The only thing that keeps me here right now is the family component. But the extra money spent on the teams is a waste because they are poorly managed and unpredictable. I hope Scott leaves soon and the teams can be better managed. Until then, don’t waste your money on a team membership.

The most pressure I have EVER had to buy a gym membership. I went in with a free day pass and Cassandra was hell bent on making me purchase a membership before I worked out. After I left the gym I also got a call from her. The place is MASSIVE with thousands of members, you are not that desperate for one mans business. Will never go back

Heather M

Good atmosphere, good equipment, big enough to rarely feel crowded no matter how many people are working out. Highly recommend the Life Barre class taught by Marni.

Caleb Sachaj

Cleanest gym I've been to, and I've been to nearly all the gyms in Colorado Springs! Can be a little crowded during typical rush hour time, but it's usually not too busy the rest of the day though

Dianna Muha

Perfect place to improve health, mood & mindset! Love this place for all of the different classes they offer & the positive vibes the employees carry!

I am a member. This is a very large, clean and nice facility. As someone above mentioned it is geared towards adults. Their childcare SUCKS!!! I couldn’t find my 2 yo and I was told to look in the bathroom because older kids lock them there sometimes. Swimming instructors are great. Family locker rooms can definitely use some work. There is only a few shower stalls and no dressing rooms. These are often used by childless members. Another huge problem is people constantly taking photos in the locker rooms. You can just look at the Instagram tag for lifetime to see the problem. I have a basic right to privacy and it’s unacceptable. I’ve complained several times and decided to cancel. For me villaSport offered much more for the same price

Mike M

Very hard to cancel membership, actually impossible.

Big facility, pricey memberships, bad customer service and lack of privacy in the locker rooms. Prepare to change in bathroom stalls while people stand around on their cellphones and the employees don’t say a word. Also I’m looking forward to the copy and pasted reply from management. Too bad they can’t pick up a phone and talk to their customer when a complaint form was filled out on their website and actually address the issues when they are reported.

Cluttered mess of weights, and machines with the plates right on top of the machines. It's set up as if some that has never worked out set the placements of the machines and plates. Doing chest or shoulders u have to wait for the person on the cables are done so you don't have your face in their butt!! Ohhh and just getting over a broken toe and lost toenail because a guy dropped a weight off his machine and landed on my foot while I was working out. Sardine workout if you ask anyone there. They make tons of room for their Trainers and training camps and cram the machine literally inches from each other and you can't even walk between them to get weights. Couple trainers there act like fools, and also never rack their weights either. Trainers playing with their phones while training clients showing no respect or a care in the world for them. Cardio machines are broken all the time....it's been 1 full year requesting that the missing plug for the ear phones on one of the stair masters be fixed. The GM continues to ignore things that actually matter....shocker. The Clown GM cares more about his Big Wave Dave hair style then the people of this gym. He is also one of the most ignorant completely incompetent GMs I've seen and heard of. Stares at his computer pretending to do work everyday. Steam room is always disgusting. Showers smells like sewer water. This place has potential but not so far. This place needs a complete clean out and overhaul of management and rearrangement of machines. If I had a closer gym to me I'd drop this memebership in a heartbeat!

We were members of Lifetime fitness for years in Maryland before moving out to Scottsdale. This club isn't as nice, and has far too many people. They increased our rates 3 times in the 2 years we were members here so we decided to go elsewhere.

The Facility is nice. But the majority (not all) of the staff including managers are rude. They must not pay these people much. That's the only logical reason I can think of. It's just not a good atmosphere. You can almost feel it as soon as you walk through the door. And this is coming from a gym rat.

Great place to work out and spend time with the family. It has indoor and outdoor pool, spa, nail and hair salon. Also healthy food options are available at the Life Caffe. Easy to book appointment for classes, massage, order food with Life Time app. Changing room is always clean.

Jon Hinds

No news on the floor tv's, "Snowflakes might melt" The outdoor pool is very kid friendly, the equipment in the gym is good and usually not much of a wait to use your favorite. The Kids play room is great however feed you kid before you go. They do not have a snack area or allow any food or drink. For the price this place should change some things. Now if you like it, this is a HOT gym and I am not talking about just the people. You will sweet like a pig, bring water the water fountains are few and used so often the water is rarely cool. They do not let the AC units blow between cooling cycles to give you a breeze so some times the place smells a lot like a gym. The signal on my phone is not that good inside the gym so i depend on there WiFi and its not dependable, especially during peak times. Over all I give it only 2 stars because you can get a lot more bang for your buck elsewhere, when our contract is up we will be going back to the Y. If you are single the women are VERY friendly...

Vlad

This is the most fantastic fitness center. The people are very nice, the facilities are great, the swimming pool is terrific, it's clean. It's a great place. I wished I lived near it. But I'm on the West Coast. Thank you for all your TERRIFIC!! service. Also, the kale salad is great!

They are more concerned with upselling then giving you what you paid for. I paid for 4 sessions with a nutritionist who pushed $800 and $150 tests and metabolic testing before and after and after 2 sessions of learning nothing I tired to cancel and they wouldn’t let me. The 4th I didn’t even go to because I still wouldn’t learn anything and they would insist on a second metabolic test. I spent over $500 and still know nothing about proper nutrition for my body. I still have a “free” session for workouts where I am sure they will only tell me what a lost cause I am and insist I need tons of expensive one on one classes or I will never see results. Update: after waiting over a week for the training supervisor to call me I went in to cancel. They said he would call and when he didn’t I went back in today. He was the rudest person I ever met there. He has a bad attitude and told me he would give me complimentary sessions with a different nutritionist but that she would probably tell me I needed the labs too. They have no intentions of helping you reach your goals their job is to string you along as long as possible by leaving you fully dependent on them and have no understanding how nutrition. I canceled my membership on the spot. Now I get to argue with them about how I shouldn’t have to pay for services I didn’t receive and I shouldn’t have to pay for 21 day prorated cancelation fees since I will not return and use their facilities after their poor treatment towards me.

Riley Ross

Too many rules!!!! I always went to the pool. It is no fun at all its just a pool with nothing to do. Also the staff is not nice at all!!!!! They wont even let kids put there feet in the hot tub. unless they are 12. One time my friend was told that if he did not keep his feet out of the hot tub he would be kicked out of the pool by one of the lifeguards. And we you pay $160 per month and to be told you where kicked out. Also the kids center is horrible. They just put kids in front of a TV and computer. The staff does not even watch the kids they just worry about the babies witch are in the same room as the older kids. For just a few bucks more you can go to Villa Sport and have way more fun and love the way everything is. Get your money's worth don't go here.

Ashley Meek

Just left after canceling my membership I unfortunately was unhappy with the times the burn class was and also very upset that every month I was there I got charged 200 dollars for something I couldn’t come to I brought it up with the trainer and suggested that they make other times available for the working people and her answer was well you need to make time for yourself. I was told that the remainder of my balance for the classes can only be used for in house services and that they can’t just credit my account. They make it very difficult to cancel your membership and is a big inconvenience. Nice gym but only if you enjoy getting Nickle and dimed.

Wesley Fleming

Great environment, the staff keeps things clean, other members are nice.

Bill Garland

Great staff and you can't ask for a better gym.

Julia

I had a great time here. Friendly staff, difficult classes, clean bathrooms and gym. The only weird thing (I'm from MD) is that there is no shampoo, conditioner, shaving equipment, tampons, etc as they had at the other lifetimes I've been to. I've heard this gym is cheaper than the MD one so it's nbd, just inconvenient

VERY NICE CLUB BUT THE MEMBERSHIP FEES ARE VERY HIGH COMPARED TO EVERY OTHER GYM AND I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER TO VASA, 24, AND PF. 80 BUCKS A MONTH CAN GET YOU A MEMBERSHIP AT ALL 3 OF THESE OTHER GYMS

LOVE Lifetime! We have made some good friend here, staff and members alike. The facilities are spectacular and the hours are unlimited so we always get a work out in- no excuses! They do push a lot of "additional" items to your monthly membership but, you don't have to do them to get 100% out of Lifetime.

Charlie Graham

Life Time is such a great gym that I have been a member here twice. After some budget issues the first time I had to cancel my member, and tried several gyms and could not find one that made me happy. So, I joined Life Time again and I plan of staying this time. This is the best gym in town. It is clean, has great staff, and is a fun place to workout. Finally a gym I actually want to go too!

Will Slappey

Best place to workout in Birmingham and best Child Care. My daughter loves their kid program so much that she asks the next time we are going to the gym.

Lucifersure DeLosMuertos777

BEWARE! Lifetime will not let you cancel and will charge you a way too inflated price for the extra months that you won't be using the center while they drag their feet to remove you from the system. I had to literally cancel my card as they would not let me cancel due to being 39 weeks pregnant! I feel that's a good reason to cancel plus why can we not stop a service or change our minds anymore. These gyms and clubs are sneaky and trick you into thinking you signed a contract which you didn't. I will never bring my business here again. Small pools, half the equipment in the gym and staff makes guests ho through a background check before entering. Lifetime of heartache.

ShayLea Goodman

I drove 30 minutes to come to the lifetime in Scottsdale and I brought a friend to try it out. She didn’t have an ID so they wouldn’t let us workout. This policy makes no sense whatsoever. Why would you prevent a guest from trying out your facility just because of an ID? First impressions are everything and I can’t imagine the way we were treated left a good image of the company for my friend. And me, as a member finds this very frustrating that I try to get lifetime more business and we are sent away with no empathy of our time taken, We drove past multiple other gyms to get to lifetime. Not happy with this location and how we were treated.

After going to many small gyms, I switched to LifeTime. I love that I can do spin, yoga and cardio classes all at one place. The classes are great! Kenny that runs it always makes me feel welcome. Overall the club is pretty clean. Only 4 stars because bathrooms get a little stinky and dirty. And, the barbell pump instructor Jen is always pushing us to follow her to Mountainside for more of her classes. I don't want to be sold another membership...that's why I'm at a big gym!

I wanted to say so many good things about this place, but I just can't. The facility itself is top notch. Newer Equipment, Spa, Saunas, towels, and Hotties, everything you could ask for in a gym. Unfortunately, the customer service does not match the facility standard. I was lured in, told something different at initial sign up than what was reality. How they handled the issue was unprofessional and unacceptable. I had several conversations with the people in charge and they couldn't have cared less. Every time I turned around there was some issue. I continuously got incorrect information from the people who worked there. The outdoor pool was not accessible for the summer (one of the reasons we wanted to try it). There were several instances in the summer when my daughter would go to the kids room and it smelled terrible in there. I asked the ladies there if they were aware of the stench. They said yes, it gets like this in summertime. I didn't like it so why would I make my daughter deal with it? The kids just didn't have fun here. I would also like to mention that you have to walk past the sales people every time you go in the building, so you get to be pressured to set something up with someone...that of course costs you extra money. I also just love the attitude that most everyone who works here has when they are trying to get more of your money...like you should already know this is going to cost you lots of EXTRA money...but it's your health...it's worth it. It IS worth it, but it is a whole package. I don't expect to pay a rather large monthly membership fee just to be hassled and hounded by salespeople for more of my money. If I am interested I will come contact you. They do have a 30-day written cancellation policy which didn't seem to be an issue for me, but when I told the trainer person I wasn't happy and was cancelling my membership he threw the 30-day policy in my face. He stated that I would have to pay for another 30 days, but luckily I had already taken care of this in writing. Of course, not without hassle. The facility is very nice, not so convenient to me as I live in Monument, but it was nice to work out here when I wasn't dealing with incompetence.

Very crowded and poor customer service. Parking is horrible and the indoor pools smell. Went in to cancel. I was in "hold status" for several months, which means they still charge you a fee, but when you come back, they waive the upfront, several hundred dollar fee. Yippee! I finally decided to cancel, and a sales person took me to his office and offered to reduce my "hold" fee to $10.00 a month, and I would return in June, which I told the sales rep., that I really was undecided about, because of all the pool issues last summer and how difficult it was to get a lane in ANY of the lap pools. I WAS PROMISED (I have the emails) that was all that I would be charged on March 1. Well, on Feb 14th, I see a charge for $10., which was an "administrative fee". This fee was just to change it from $15. to $10.!!!!! Well, to me, that was a REAL SIGN, to quit the club. It was borderline FRAUD to charge my card without advising me. So, I went back in (angry for being "ripped off") to cancel, and the rude woman, kept saying "you're doing this over $10? She didn't have the capacity to understand the principle of the situation. I'm very HAPPY that I canceled.

This place is horrible. Personal training management is military driven and only care about sales and will give poor information just for you to waste money. One of the nicer trainers explained how they're micro managed and mistreated by the supervisors and if you're a member, you can see that it is true. You can't have a conversation with a trainer without trying to be sold. I don't necessarily think it's their fault though because the Personal training managment puts so much pressure into their trainers (robots) to basically steal people's money.

Have been a member of lifetime fitness for years in both South Jordan Utah, and recently at this location in North Scottsdale. The place is massive with every piece of equipment you could imagine. They even have some things that I've NEVER seen in any other gym. It's clean, 3 pools, and super friendly. I just recently switched to a different gym, only due to location. I do hope they add another lifetime in South Scottsdale / North Tempe area. No complaints. : ) I love this place and so will you!

Old Raw

Will lie to you over the phone time and time again. All business are the same, they could care less about the customer and only think of the money and profit. Great gym but absolute terrible sales reps kinda reminds me of sleazy car dealerships and their sleazy tactics!

Hmmmmmmm, The epoxy sealant in the steam room seems like it needs to be replaced or removed and have something else in it’s place perhaps (it is mushy ie probably off gassing volatile organic compounds that most people wouldn’t want in a confined airspace with high heat. Black staining also isn’t a good sign and it seems really stinky in there compared to many other Lifetimes. It isn’t just rust stains in here. I have other concerns but am tying to be polite and work with Lifetime internally if their Corporate office would have the common courtesy to stay in touch with me. It’s been almost a month since I last contacted them though and NO follow up whatsoever. A bit disappointing to say the least. Thinking I just need to reach out to their CEO about how I can help them improve many of their Clubs and have a better customer retention rate. I’m pretty sure the steam room has sign off mildew / possible minor mold issues. Not appropriate given how much that charge in member dues and the inherent health risks. I’ve been waiting since December 10, with frequent follows up (on my end) to find out the status of another club that was severely overdue for having it’s wood replaced ie severe wood rot and not even a solid foundation for the flooring. Hopefully the construction teams and auditing department can become a bit more diligent in the future. Hopefully corporate will learn how to follow up with people properly. I gave them my number and email and it should be on file! If they properly followed through on what they said they would, I could have tried to address things in a less public manner which had always been my preference. If I knew concerns where being taken seriously and not just brushed off, I would most certainly do so. I’m sorry but this is a problem with MANY of their clubs through the U.S. not all but many. To many people have gotten comfortable with their jobs. I suggest hiring more Veterans or people that are a bit more meticulous with daily maintenance, and cleaning and are not so lackadaisical. This is one of the most expensive gyms in the country. People don’t want to pay $160 a month for run down facilities, when there are clubs that cost a fraction of the cost that are at times in better shape. Yes there are MANY Lifetimes that are in excellent shape. However there are also many that need a serious overhaul pronto. Sauna and Steam Rooms are the perfect breeding ground for mold if not properly maintained. I bet you the cost on a lab test / inspection that the steam room here had problems. Trust me my nose picks up on this far better than the average person. I caught a VERY serious problem with the Boca Raton Diamond club that no one else caught not even there internal auditors noticed. Probably because they don’t take the time to go in there and actually lift the wood and thoroughly inspect for black discoloring ie wood rot etc. I pray to God quality control department catches wind of this. Apparently Health Inspectors don’t actually check or test for molds. Not all molds are clearing and blatantly obvious. However black staining in a damp and humid environment usually isn’t a good sign.

This gym is good, but lacking. First off the gym is great. Well kept with plenty of machines and only moderately busy. Most of my complaints I have, have to do with all the amenities at the gym. First off the food is delicious. I would eat there every night if I could, however the amount of time it takes them to make 1 sandwich is obscene. I think I waited 30 mins every night I ordered food from there, and some nights it was upwards of 45 mins. Also when I was going there were a lot of high school kids working there who didn't really care about their job. Second is the massage on site. It was a great massage but I had weird bites on my arm after it, and walking out there were crickets roaming around the lobby of the styling place. So again the gym is good, but as far as cleanliness and overall satisfaction I'd have to give this gym a 3. I don't think I'd pay for a membership again.

Matt

The cost of this gym is horrid and completely not needed. The location is nice and clean but what are we paying for that every gym also gives for fraction of the price? Constantly over crowded and wastes open space. The hot tubs have been remodeled and taken out the waterfalls which I found soothing. The personal trainers aren’t as knowledgeable as you would like either. Sadly you’ll see things closed off often for long periods of time.

Love Lifetime! I usually prefer to be a part of smaller more intimate gyms but Lifetime is really something special. The parking lot is always packed, but if you're parking to go to the gym then a brisk walk will only fuel your workout. Love the yoga there too! I will say that I have come across some rude workers and trainers, but I would chalk that up as personality flaws on their part and not the gym itself.

New to town and was looking for a new stylist. I had my hair done by Heather Downs based off of her Instagram profile she seemed perfect. Worst experience of my life. $220 and she cut my hair short her than I asked the color looks nothing like the pictures I showed her for reference all of which I was okay dealing with until I washed my hair the first time and realized she FRIED all the hair around my face. I have never had an issue getting my hair done with any other stylist or with damage in general.. I let her know and she recommended I have a conditioning treatment and trim the damage sections.. I did.......I left the salon with oily hair but it seemed to look a little healthier. I went home and washed it the next day and I’m literally sick at how terribly damaged my hair still is.... I can’t even wear my hair straight down it looks so bad. I called and spoke with the manager and the told me they would not refund my money but I could come in for two more conditioning treatments....THAT DOESNT FIX BROKEN HAIR. It’s probably going to take a year to undo what she did to my hair.

Lifetime has definitely changed my life. I love working out there and the group fitness instructors Leigh, and Laura S have played a huge part in getting me back on track and helping me get through the actual work outs! Absolutely love this place, even moved to the other side of town and kept my membership.

I've moved around and been to many lifetimes,This is a great gym. My rating is this only because I am a climber. The climbing in this gym has huge potential but has remained sub par. I have been climbing the same exact routes for two years. They have set up new boulder routes but never touch the sport routes. The hours of operation for open wall are also totally bogus. Hire a professional sette. Keep it fresh and make it a routine. Extend the hours. Make it like a normal climbing gym. If you build it they will come. Great gym if you don't plan on getting any better at climbing.

Sabryna Holloway

I have been a member for about two years, I switched from VillaSport. I am so glad I moved, this gym is cleaner, better classes, & I am not forced to use family changing rooms with same gender children. We use the rock wall (recently updated with new routes), fitness classes (try and walk after a class with Collette), the childcare center (I have gotten to know the staff and trust them). I had a HORRIBLE experience with Suzy at salon, my advice to to avoid it completely. The food at the cafe is okay but they do stock vegan organic snacks and smoothies so I can run for a snack. The pools are well maintained, swimming lessons are good. Most of the yoga is hot yoga which I don’t enjoy but it’s popular. Going to this gym is really like being at a resort, the towel service is awesome! Each time I visit I use steam and sauna... it’s nice that I can do so in locker rooms or the indoor pool if I want to meet up with my husband. A lot of people complain about it being crowded but I haven’t had trouble getting weights or machines during peak times. True the parking lot is usually very full but you are going to workout so walking a little further to the entrance shouldn’t be a big deal.

We joined this gym a couple months ago and for the monthly membership price, I'm not that impressed. First, for how much it is to be a member, I would expect more exercise classes to be included in the price. Many of the classes I want to attend cost an extra fee. Second, I don't always feel comfortable leaving my daughter in the child care center. There are always so many kids in there, and it isn't sectioned off enough by age. My daughter was scratched pretty bad by another child yesterday and she couldn't tell me what happened because she's so young. I understand that accidents happen, but I'm sure an adult didn't even see what happened because there isn't a strong child to adult ratio. Third, there needs to be more activities for little kids in the outdoor pool. That one little fountain gets boring after two minutes. And it seems like the indoor pool always says it's reserved for 12 years and older. Finally, many parts of the gym were closed for about a month because of renovations and I don't really see that they did anything. The gym should have offered a discount in the membership fee for the month of July because we weren't able to attend due to these renovations. Update: I was going to change my review to 3 stars, because somebody from the gym called to talk to me about my concerns after I wrote my initial review. But then I've had a terrible experience with aquatics since then. The director doesn't email or call back, and last week I didn't receive a call that my daughter's swim lesson was cancelled, so we showed up and nobody was there. The aquatics staff is very unorganized. Therefore, after everything we've decided to cancel our membership.

Had a men’s haircut at 12:30 on September 17th. I checked in at 12:30 sharp and was told to have a seat. After waiting for 12 minutes and not being told that my stylist was running late I decided to leave and get back to the office. If your running behind by more than 10 minutes you should let your client know at check in. Not have them just sit there without any idea how long you are running behind.

I love this gym! It isn't cheap, but is worth the expense. They have a lot of programs that are included with your membership. I enjoy the friendliness of the staff and most people there.

Without doubt the most outstanding fitness facility on the planet - at least that's my call on the Lifetime centre in Birmingham Alabama - its like a five-star hotel and there is so much equipment and it all works like brand new kit -

I do enjoy lifetime fitness when I go! I would have gave it 5 stars but the cleanliness of the place is not Entirely clean. I do see staff members in the changing rooms periodically, but there mostly just changing the towels and emptying the towel hamper. Hardly do I ever see anyone sweeping or mopping the floors. Every time I go in there, there are always hair on the floor, shower area ( inside and out), on the stair climbing machine, I mean just about any and everywhere you can think of. I also don’t like that the family changing locker rooms are also the employee entrance to the swimming pool. I think that is very inappropriate and a bit disrespectful. I would love to make this my gym, but unfortunately I can not until the cleaning conditions change and the staff entrance to the pool change!! But first and foremost, the loose Hair Problem!!

We are from MN and come to Scottsdale frequently with our kids. There is a such a difference between the Lifetimes. At the MN lifetime, the kids hardly ever get screen time. We've come ten times now in 70-80 degree weather and the Scottsdale staff won't even let the kids play outside in the attached playground. If they don't "have enough staff" get more on. They just put movies on for the kids and they just sit there like robots going brain dead. If I wanted to sit my kids in front of TV, I would do it at home and work out! Sheesh. I think corporate would be disappointed. This doesn't go with the whole philosophy of Lifetime. We are trying to set examples for our kids - of a healthy lifestyle. Not teaching our kids to turn into to TV heads. Not a happy camper. Also, corporate should pay extra to open the outdoor pool earlier in the season so people can enjoy it.

outstanding GYM in phoenix!

Not upfront with fees. Never clear about costs which can get very frustrating. Made an investment to use the facility but staff doesn't make it clear when there are extra charges. They say "it's corperate".. Okay, then what are the fees and what are they for? Went for a massage we expected to use "credit for a free massage"..they added another $30. Then when they sensed we were thrown off, said it was $15 instead. I don't want to sound like I'm penny pinching but felt like I'm at a car dealership trying to figure out how much will be charged and for what purposes. Felt like we were been taken advantage of.

The gym itself is great BUT, over a month and a half ago I cancelled my membership yet I am still being charged. They say there is no paperwork and of course I through it away thinking it was finished. BE CAREFUL when stopping your membership. I also have one prepaid personal training session left that they will not refund. How can they just keep my money for services NOT rendered?

Read your contracts carefully!! Got straight up lied to by the sales associate. I told her I don't mind the price but I do not want to get locked into contract since my wife and I may be moving in the near future. Well, time to get out of the contract and guess who signed me up with a year membership and not month to month like I agreed upon. No need for names, not worth somebody's well being. But once again, a gym makes it next to impossible to leave and squeezes the last little bit out of you... Just don't appreciate getting lied to during a sales pitch. I am in sales as well and it's just bad business and word of mouth advertising is your strongest asset or biggest hurdle. I'm out...

I spoke with Tyler at this location regarding a day pass. When checking out a new gym the site usually offers a free day pass. I am In the area for a little while and wanted to find somewhere close to workout. Not ever stepping foot in lifetime, my experience was terrible. I was told I would be charged for a $20 for a day pass. Tyler only pushed the sale which made me uncomfortable and targeted. I didn’t get a tour, and I had to keep asking what the next steps were because I wanted to move forward in the process to watch my nieces play tennis. I decided to leave as I wasn’t paying to sit around and watch the girls play. If I could’ve found a class I would’ve paid since I was already there. After my brief overview, I grabbed the keys so I could leave. Once I got home I looked up free day passes at lifetime. They do offer them with no stipulations. I’m not sure if it were due to the color of my skin or him having a bad day. The entire experience left me feeling like I wasted time. If this place only gave out paid passes I understand and would have gladly paid if my experience was better. They have left a salty taste in my mouth and I don’t plan on supporting them across the board. I leave reviews when I get outstanding customer service and really bad service. Whoever is over sales needs to change their practices as I didn’t feel welcomed or invited.

No price breaks offered for public safety folks sadly. Most other gyms afford a break given that public safety authorities' safety and ability to keep public safe can come down to their physical fitness.

Anna Harmon

Way too much. Too many people. Too massive. Too impersonal. Felt like dystopia.

Alex Eisen

Great facility with plenty of machines and free weights for any fitness style and goal. The club is overall well maintained and they have gotten a lot better keeping the place clean and updated. The afternoons are a little crowded and may add extra time for your workout so consider changing to an early schedule. The trainers definitely know their stuff and most help actually drive meaningful results.

Lifetime was a gym that I absolutely loved going to for years. I even talked my anti gym going boyfriend to join. We were recently working out, After I was finished with my cardio I went on to the benches to do some free weights. As I was getting ready to do my first set, one of the trainers ( I will not mention his name) tapped me on my shoulder to tell me that he was getting ready to use the bench that I was at. At first I thought it was a joke since there was absolutely nothing indicating he was going to be using this specific bench. But it wasn’t, there was a bench two benches away but for whatever reason this trainer only wanted to use the one I was using. I got up extremely ticked off. I spoke with the other trainers to inform them how rude and appalled I was by the way I was treated. My boyfriend ended up going over to the trainer to see what his problem was, my boyfriend asked “ was there anything around the bench that would allow her to know you were using this specific bench?” He replied with “well no, but I told my student to meet me at this bench” then my boyfriend said “ well then she honestly shouldn’t of been disturbed and she should of been about to use the bench she was at and not asked to move, we pay $170 a month for this membership, she has a right to use all of the equipment” the trainer replied with “well the lady I’m training pays more” With all of this said, I’m extremely sad that I now feel absolutely uncomfortable with working out here. I refused to be treated in a way that my “money” is worthless because I don’t need to pay for someone to show me workouts I already know how to do. We decided to cancel our membership and it just seemed like no one really cared.

Best health club I've ever belonged to. Cleanest, best equipped health club. In my introductory interview and assessment, my adviser recommended Pilates because of my lower back issues. I would never have even thought to try it. Now, I'm totally hooked. My personal trainer, Sharla Mitchell, is always giving 110% to make sure I'm getting the best training possible. She even researches technique to add to my workout to make sure it stays fresh and focused. And I have to give a shout out the Yoga group fitness program as well. Just an overall great place to work out with a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional staff.

Donald Watkins

their locker room has mahogany lockers. enough said.

Rick DAmico

I'd live there if I could!

Franchesca Gonzales

Over priced, always under construction, careless staff. Good luck trying to ever cancel. They try to make it impossible and will waste your time with their careless attitude. If you're looking for an overpriced mediocre gym this is it. Otherwise save your money... Anywhere else is better.

Andrew Garritson

Friendly and welcoming atmosphere with almost every amenity for every taste available! Blew my mind with how friendly and engaging the staff was, along with how clean the facilities we're

Doris H.

The Life Time Fitness in Scottsdale is great, go there every day on my lunch break. Clean and staff is friendly.

tripp larsen

Clean environment, lots of classes great place to workout or play basketball

Renaissance Fitness

Facility is clean but staff, especially personal trainers, are rude. They have no regard to personal space. They do not speak to you or ask when you're going to be done with a space and take over without any exchange. You'd prob ably be better off spending your money elsewhere.

Ronen Flat

Great gym at a decent price for all the amenities. Locker room and parking lot can get a bit crowded during busy times but never had to wait for equipment/weights upstairs. Classes are good but would be better if they were staggered so you could attend 2 in a row.

Mallory Dean

very rude staff but a very good tennis department

Taylor Schweikert

I've been coming to this gym since it opened and I've gotta say, the swim team that started swimming here not too long ago is probably the best thing this gym has going for them. The happiness and positive energy that pours off the swimmers really shows how much the kids truly enjoy the sport, and it really is inspiring as well as motivating to watch. Their coaches are awesome and they willingly give members lanes when they notice some are looking for one. The team's happiness and great vibes are contagious and that energy is fed solely from their coaches and that shows in the pool. The 5 stars isn't for the facility, but mainly for the swim team. Great job to them!

Tuile Hansen

Great amenities, great pools, hot tubs shower, and family dressing areas. The separate tennis Certified trainers are always on DUTY. The restaurant and smoothie bar makes great power shakes of all types with additional grains and even some coffee to be thrown him… A little something for everybody. The new yoga and Pilates studios have been renovated and the new cross X area provides all Of the toys, chains, bars, truck tires, and places to connect to straps. THEY HAVE A SEPARATE THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE AND HAIR AND NAILS SALON FOR YOU TO LOOK YOUR BEST!

Shelby Donner

I love going here but the price is a little steep for one person. Still a great gym with many ammenaties.

This is a great gym. I live in Atlanta and have a membership for Lifetime there. The Lifetime in Birmingham is newer, nicer and has more amenities. In addition I have lived in Chicago and have been a member of multiple gyms there (Crunch) as well as New York (Equinox) and this gym has more space, and has better equipment then they ever did. Again, this is a great gym.

Jo Eley

We joined two weeks ago and have not had any problems there. We don't have kids so don't have daycare issues. Parking is no problem. There parking lot is almost as big as there facility. There are always machines to use. The circuit training is a bit crowded but then you go do something else. Usually I find something empty use it, then go to something else when it's available. We'll see how I feel after a year of membership.

Lisa Holm DeVoe

Great gym, very clean and everything you could want under one roof. I have to say that the personal training I purchased with Daniel Harting is the best money I have ever spent on myself. I have back issues and he knew exactly what to start with and build a solid base to get me in the best shape of my life without injury! I am 50 years old and over the past 6 months Daniel has helped me lose 25 pounds and I feel amazing! Thank you Daniel!!

rakan huneidi

Best gym I have ever been in. It's like a resort

Roy Sailor

I am a long time member and have enjoyed this club until recently. Following the recent remodel, the club now has a large machine that takes up about 1/3 of the upper floor. The machine looks interesting but I can not see a way to learn about how to use it without engaging a personal trainer. The weight machines have been pushed into the area that used to be used for stretching. It is very tight quarters and will be crowded especially in the January and February months. The spas have been remodeled taking away the water fall feature and seemingly reducing the number of jets. Overall disappointing results for a remodel that took on the order of a month or so where using the gym was not good. The staff have always been helpful, but now seem to be bit distant. It would be helpful in the staff contacted the members, even through an email campaign, and offered to help adjust to the remodeled environment.

John Palmer

Great gym. I've enjoyed the pool, child services, but I do not like you can not openly use the outdoor gym for Crossfit without a trainer.

T C

Rob Swindler

Great facilities but can be pretty crowded at peak times. Early afternoon seems best.

Ben Voss

Overpriced and the music is so loud I think I'm going deaf.

F W

Very nice fitness center. Friendly staff and great service!

Marsha Jean

I’ve been a men ever here for a long time. I asked Kelly one question about using a bench very politely and she was so rude. Trainers at a place like this should be polite and courteous. Her attitude was horrendous.

Jessica Manfredi

I joined Lifetime fitness several months ago. I have two young children 7 and 4 year. This has been so great for us. My kids really enjoy the Kids Academy and I really enjoy the classes. The indoor swimming pool can get a bit full at peak times. I look forward to using the outdoor pool this summer.

I have been a dedicated member for over 6 years now I frequent the locations all over Houston, tx and colorado and have been to locations in 5 states and never have I seen a more poorly trained team. I find that more often than not there are no towels in the shower area half of the time there are no bags for wet bathing suits, I usually would attribute this to team members being busy yet when I leave I find they are all socializing near the front. After reviewing all the other negative reviews it would seem as the management team is never going to get it together. If changes aren't made soon I will be taking my money else where as will a few of my friends and family. I'm top of that the remodel is terrible you squished all the machined together to make room for playground equipment.

This is a true lifestyle club. As such anyone looking into a membership should know it is geared for ADULTS. Although there are things like rock climbing walls and a pool facility for teaching youth- This is not a facility really aimed for kids. The expectation is that if you have children under 18 they are to be left in the daycare center or simply left home and never unsupervised. This irks some people, but it is THE reason my wife and I joined and remain members. Yoga classes are really well done. The spa service is truly first-class although not cheap. We figure you get what you pay for though. There is a cafe with good healthy food choices and the service staff is very professional. Locker rooms are professional looking and always being cleaned. pool is best in the area. Sauna is excellent- maybe even a little too hot at times. Haven’t had times to explore all other options like the bb courts yet. In the summers the outdoor pool park is a madhouse, so we typically avoid that, but this is the best health club in the city- period. Membership us not cheap, but worth the price for quality and atmosphere.

Kristina Cooke

Way overcrowded. Most afternoons there are several cars circling the parking lot to find spaces. They closed the outdoor pool early so now everyone has to share the indoor lap lanes with the senior pool aerobics class in the mornings and the kids swim team in the afternoon. You’re lucky to get a lane to yourself for your workout. Most days I have to share, which is fine except I’m supposed to be doing all these drills in my workout schedule and can’t do any of them when lane sharing. I pay $98/month for one adult, & most days I’m frustrated when I go in due to lane shortage. Not worth the money.

Todd Sobel

Rocks!

John Higginbotham

The facility is very nice and some of the employees are enjoyable. However, the aftercare kids program is a joke, expensive and much left to be desired. The main kids leader (Rio) has the worst attitude and very pretentious. Be warned, this place needs new leadership as the employees need to learn that it is the CUSTOMERS that pay for their salary.

Chailla Anderson

This is worse than the hotel California. They charge your card for months after you cancel. You need to actually use lawyers to get them to stop.

Benjamin Yim

Clean and very spacious facility. Very poor customer service. Many staffs lack knowledge of their own facility. Canceling membership is very challenging.

Right now Liftime Fitness is doing remodels to the gym upstairs and it is impossible to get a good workout in. Everyday a new part of the gym is closed for a new floor remodel. The floor they are putting in too is wood! Like what kid of gym has wood floors? So many problems are goimg to come about from the floors and people pay up over $100's of dollars a month to have access to not even a 4th of the gym sometimes. An update on the remodel: the whole upstairs part of the gym is closed for over a week! What kind of gym closes the gym? They say u can use weights on the basketball court but is extremely crowded so it is impossible to get a workout in! I attended Mountain Side and was very pleased! And there were tons of members from Lifetime at Mtn Side and they all loved it too! Very very disappointed with the way Lifetime is handling the remodel! There should be a discount for the month for all members for all the hassle! I had my rating at 2 stars but wish i could give it 0 stars.

Daniel DiCenso

Love the new equipment, 24 hours, and all the different types of exercise you can do. Getting a bot over crowded especially during evening rush hours.

Chris Wightman

Neglectful management, careless and dirty. 3 times a week we have to ask for fam shower rooms to be unlocked(sometimes in the afternoon even). Front door to gym opens in front of fam locker room door so everyone standing in line to check in can see the naked children and adults getting dressed. Management cant seem to figure out how to set up something to block the door. Not enough equipment, equipment set up wrong so the butt machines face out for everyone to see. Brainless layout so everything is too close. It always smells bad. Management couldnt be bothered everytime there is a problem they ignore when you complain. Front desk people are usually really great and the trainers here are nice and knowledgeable. Most of the staff are pretty great here.

Been a member several years. It's a beautiful facility with amazing features and equipment. You can't not like the physical plant. Hours are great. At $180/month for family rates, it's expensive for sure but you get what you pay for. Staff encounters I've had have always been pleasant.

Jennifer Vu

The endless phone calls from the gym regarding "new classes" or "new schedule" after you've signed up is ridiculously annoying...especially on a Sunday morning!

I go to Lifetime ONLY be to swim laps. But it is WELL WORTH IT, so I can still swim year round, despite how cold it is outside! I used to swim in their heated pool. But I'm cold natured, and thin , so I was FREEEEZING walking down the hall, from the dressing room to the pool! Then I had to swim faster than usual, just to to warm up & to be able to enjoy the rest of my laps! NONE of that is the case at Lifetime! You come out of the locker room directly into the pool atrium. And it is nice & kinda steamy in there- VERY PLEASANT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LIFETIME, especially of someone wants to swim year tound! It is more expensive than other places, but it's worth it!!!

My husband and I had this gym membership for a couple of months before we moved. We canceled two weeks before we even moved. We tried canceling over the phone and they said that we must come in and sign paperwork so that was what we did. A month later we seen that we were still being charged and we called them and went down and canceled YET AGAIN because SOMEONE lost the paperwork. They said they would not refund us the money and the next month came around, still being charged. So obviously the Cara girl who helped my husband “cancel” each time has no idea what she is doing. We called USAA and disputed the charges because they didn’t want to simply refund us money that they wrongfully took. Trying to say there was no paperwork of us canceling. Once we disputed the charges with our bank my husband got an email saying they were going to send us to collections if we didn’t pay damn near $600.00. When they can clearly see we haven’t been to the gym since March and tried canceling TWO times. After back and forth conversation, the collection guy for lifetime said he would settle it all for $170.00. We paid it to just get this whole ordeal over with. We ended up paying for someone else’s mistake. Super shady business. NEVER USE LIFETIME.

Bill Barnett

Top notch gym. Facility, equipment, trainers and staff are best in class. I have been to many gyms and this is the best. I just moved to the area and luckily found this gym by accident. I'm glad I did.

Sammy Jefferson

I've been going to this gym since I was 12 years old. All the instructors helped me find a love for fitness. Babette took time to train, inspire, and mentor me to become an instructor. I am very appreciative of her selfless and caring nature. This is the best gym. I will never leave.

Eric Ford

Best gym in town

Rebekah Costley

Do NOT eat at their cafe. It gave me food poisoning. gym is nice though. Just extremely busy.

Alex S

Mr Sherman - hold up there.....I to have been a member since before the place opened and have to completely agree with Matchett and Victoria. The "common area" of the gym should be just that! I like Payne and do understand what he is trying to accomplish but at no time should he take up all the equipment or prevent other members from using whatever they like. We pay way too much money for them to be stiflers. The service has gone way down hill since it opened. I really do not know what Tim King actually does and would love to know. He surely doesn't help with improving things. The worst is when one of the swim staff takes one of there 50 noodles from your kid because of some reason I cannot fathom! How do you explain the reasoning behind that??

Josiah Carlson

I used to love this place. I've been a member since 2013 and only recently cancelled because I moved to ATL. I probably got 5-6 of my friends to sign up. But the reason I won't sign up again here is because of all the extra fees that they charge. If they just had a monthly fee that didn't frequently go up I'd still be in. And honestly, it's not that it's overpriced because I knew that from the beginning and still paid. It's the fact that they're so rigid about pricing and extra fees for this or that. It should be more of a membership than a bank! I don't think I should feel a concern that my gym is going to hold me to a strict financial contract. Country clubs aren't this concerned about petty fees. I also wasn't too impressed with the recent "upgrades" that took so much space away from the lifting area. It was near impossible to find a machine without a line of people trying to get to it. I brought my wife in once because I had a free pass for her to check the place out. I thought they would be excited to have her visiting the gym out so she might like it and join as well. The first thing out of the guys mouth at the front desk "she'll have to pay to visit today " even after saying I had a free pass. Really? I have a free pass but can't use it because of another rule? I guess I should have paid more attention to the fine print and remembered to bring my contract law book to study the details of when and where I'm allowed to say "free pass for my wife". That's when I decided that I wouldn't sign up again in Atlanta. Good bye Lifetime.

Terje Gloerstad

great place for a workout and light healthy snacks

Autumn Smith

I've had a great experience at Life Time Fitness!

Mackenzie Anne Drury

My brother and I were interested in a membership and were given a 7 day free trial. The person who helped us said if we decided it was out of our price range, we could get our money back if we just cancelled the following Tuesday. About midway through the trial I decided it was just too expensive for what they offer and when I got home from a trip and called the Tuesday to cancel, they said it was day 8 and it was too late. I came in and canceled it and calmly explained my frustration to a different member. My concerns did not feel acknowledged but rather brushed off with a "sorry". I am very displeased with the customer service and feel this was a skeezy and deceptive way to lock us into the membership and up his numbers. All in all, I will be paying $155 though I feel he clearly misguided us. A curtsy call to warn customers the trial is ending should be out in place. Very disappointed.

This is an all encompassing fitness facility with everything one could think of: indoor/outdoor pools, basketball, free weights, cardio, yoga, health spa and healthy cafe. If you make it in frequently, the the cost makes sense.

Peter Parker

Good infra. Bad staff. Back to back yoga classes with no cleaning. You step on other people sweat and the whole studio is over crowed and smells. Personal trainers are too costly, and mostly totally useless. Staff is always in selling mode. Overcrowded - literally have to wait for 30-50% of the time for a machine to become available (if you go in the morning or evening - which I assume most of the people prefer)

This is an amazing gym! I love the group classes, the cafe and the dressings rooms are very nice and always clean. Best sauna I have ever been in. Always good service, too! Deserving of a 5-star rating!

Unfortunately I tore my ACL back in December. I called to cancel and I was told I needed to come in person to cancel. Due to my circumstances of being unable to walk I was told an email would suffice. After months of trying to cancel my membership I am still constantly bombarded with emails requesting a payment. This has gone on for 5 MONTHS now.

Yury Dyachenko

Facility is ok at best. Be mindful of cancelation. They rip people off by requiring you to cancel in person only...no over the phone or online cancelation. Basically taking your money against your will if you fail to come in or mail in the cancel notice. I hope someone in their management will catch on to it

Janea Brown

I love this location. Clean, great staff, nice people. I have a location closer to my house but I choose to drive 15 minutes further fo this one mainly for TEAM Alpha class with Ranae. She is amazing!

Christian is very personable at check-in, Lauren was very patient with all of my questions, Braxton was quick to help with my locker, and this gym is a strong 5 stars! Thank you all for a great experience and privilege to train here! (from a Doctor of Physical Therapy)

Cheyenne Lackey

I’ve never had any complaints. Service has always been real friendly. Clean locker rooms. Always enough workout equipment. Love this gym.

Elizabeth Anderson

I have previously considered joining Life Time Fitness, but absolutely will not now. I went there recently for a child's birthday party and was told that I needed to sign a waiver for my child to participate. I had no problem with that, and included the requested contact information. Life Time Fitness immediately began spamming my email inbox almost daily - this was completely unsolicited and I do not appreciate the company using my contact information in this way. If they are using my contact information for their spam/marketing campaigns, how can I be assured they have not sold my contact information to others? If you visit Life Time Fitness for any reason, I encourage you not to provide your correct contact information or you will begin receiving spam.

Sarah Christensen

Absolutely the worst gym to go to. A MALE EMPLOYEE WALKED INTO THE FEMALE LOCKER ROOM WHILE I WAS CHANGING!!!!! WITH NO WARNING!!!! Definitely not kid friendly if that’s what their male employees do! They lock the doors after 12 PM (which is fine for safety reasons) but no one stays up front to unlock the door when members get there. You have to ring a doorbell, then you’re left to wait there for 5-10 sometimes up to 15 minutes for an employee to unlock the door!! If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. Their equipment is dirty. There is dust on the leg press machine and many other machines as well! In the month that I went there, I did not see them clean the floors of the gym not even ONCE! The drinking fountains are left with blue and red stains, from god knows what, for weeks! They tell their members to wipe down the equiptment before and after they use it but rarely does that happen! They should be wiping down things throughout the day to ensure sanitation! Their bathroom stalls are filthy!!! And their showers always have hair in the drains!!! I don’t understand!! THE FLU IS IN FULL SWING RIGHT NOW AND THEY AREN’T WIPING THINGS DOWN?! SERIOUSLY!!! Their cafe doesn’t close until 10 on weeknights (I believe) and they close everything down early so they can get out right at 10..... if you’re open until 10 then your equiptment needs to stay on and ready to prepare things until 10! My boyfriend and I referred a friend and we got no credit for it either (their referral program is a joke)! Their employees have big time attitudes, especially the overnight crew. It’s no wonder they have so many bad reviews on here. Awful awful AWFUL gym. Absolutely not worth the money!

Caml Wood

I have been a member since this club opened. It has turned into a Alpha Gym/Meat Market. No more family emphasis. Equipment in ill repair. Club policies ridiculous...won't let you cancel membership unless you do it in person or by certified letter. Not sure how out of town people are supposed to comply. Horrible service. Many safety issues at the club. DO NOT JOIN.

Brad Duffy

I absolutely love this place. Fantastic environment. Would recommend to anyone. You cannot make everyone happy. The parking lot is full the majority of the time, I wish the 1000's of members that use the place daily would leave positive reviews. Only wished i had joined earlier. Brad Duffy

Gary Jacobson

Do not sign up for weight training by the month as you will not get your money back if you have to stop due to injury or illness. I was hurt and brought in a Doctor's order and even then they would not give a refund of my over $300 in prepaid weight training fees. First told me I should take a 90 day break so I could retain my membership if I should be able to return. So I did that and they after another physical problem which prevented me from going back, they said it was too late and so sorry but no refund. I tried talking to the trainer, the office staff, and corporate but to no avail. Corporate would not return my calls. So Please be Careful not to prepay for weight training. You will Not get your money Back!

Mike E

We have been a member for a little over a month and have enjoyed many aspects of Life Time. First, the place is very clean! I always see staff cleaning the bathrooms, showers, floors, equipment, etc. Second, we have enjoyed the huge variety of options that we have available such as personal training, group training, classes and more. Third, most everyone we have met is very nice and happy to help! We have talked to well over a dozen trainers and done multiple classes with different trainers...they have all been happy to help! Fourth, they are making big investments in equipment to keep everything first class! The reason I'm rating it 4 stars instead of 5 is because Life Time is obviously going through some changes and a lot of the staff seem to be confused about what is included with membership when you join, etc. Also, Tennis is not free even with a platinum membership. I get charging for premium hours, but there should still be off-peak hours available for free to platinum members (and not just the free summer program - all year). Other than that, we are very happy with our decision to join and have already referred friends!

jaime kean

So far, the tour was great. Seems to be a clean and friendly place. I’ll be honest, some of the reviews have bothered me. I’m a professional woman that makes a great living. If there are any derogatory remarks about me or other women, the people making the remarks and the staff will be confronted. I have zero tolerance. Also, being a professional woman, I have no time for sales tactics, so I’ll be out. If any of these things occur and aren’t addressed, I’m out. It’s sad to me they have people that have more than enough means to pay their fees and then some, if they refuse to address issues, I’m done. TBD.... I will update based on my experience.

Brian Lambert

Great facility and fun staff - it is now one year old and they have maintained the same quality as they did day one. My kids love it, my wife is doing yoga 5 times a week and I miss it when I can't get there. These people have the system down for making fitness part of your life. There is something for everyone.

I just joined yesterday with a one year contract. The steam room is in the men's locker room on 24/7. I went to shower after workout and swim. Moldy shower. Got in another stall, moldy wet towel. Another stall, more BLACK MOLD. I joined to get in better health. BLACK MOLD causes CANCER. I thought paying $100/month meant a clean locker room, not stinky moldy towels everywhere. Totally horrified.

Tony Mandarich

Was a member there for 5 years. Very nice facility. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Tons to do for all ages of the family. Great staff!

Matchett Gunn

I agree with Victoria (previous reviewer). I too joined before Lifetime Fitness opened. After they first opened, the quality of the training and customer service staff was good. Now, not so much. My biggest problem with Life Time today are Mr. Payne's group fitness classes. He schedules them at the busiest time of day in the functional fitness area of the gym. This prevents anyone who does not pay to join his group fitness class from using the area. Specifically, he uses ALL of the barbells for his class (even though I rarely see anyone in the class using them), and ALL of the dip bars to build a fence to keep the non-groupfitness-paying members out. If you happen to stray into his class, he is extremely aggressive. I have complained about not being able to use the common areas of the gym, and haven't heard a response. This complaint could be resolved if Mr. Payne would move his class to one of the many group fitness rooms, or limit the size of his class so that the functional fitness area can accommodate all of the other paying members. If this doesn't get resolved by the end of March, I will be dropping my membership.

Lori Andrade

I like the way the staff gets involved with my goals. The groulp activities are great. So far, I've joined the dance, yoga, and cycling classes. Daycare is only $10 per month!

Brandon Cormier

Great atmosphere. Incredible classes and instructors. My 2 year old loves the child care. Lots of space. Steam room =

Rocko Holmes

Very stuck up place to workout. Julie at the front desk was extremely rude and never made me or my wife feel welcomed into the club. So many others places in Scottsdale to workout where you feel welcomed and valued. Also, $35 for a day fee! The gym is not that nice where it is worth that amount. Glory gains, mountainside fitness, CrossFit gyms. Many many other places where you will get a better experience then what Julie have us.

Jacob Dahn

Lifetime is fantastic. This location does not have the traditional Platinum level amenities. It is still a very good facility.

Leah J

I’m from Minnesota and this onyx club is by far better than the one I go to back home. The club was clean and it was busy but not crowded.

Christopher D Prevel

I have been a guest for a week and have visited the gym on three occasions. Ones opinion of a gym is greatly influenced by prior gym membership. This facility and their staff provide an experience that is far superior to any gym in Central Florida that I have been a member. Be thankful that you have Life Time Fitness in your community.

Jessica Wright

Absolutely love it here. I’ve been a previous employee of Gold’s Gym & LA fitness. I was a little nervous to jump ship from my previous gyms (no locations near me). But Lifetime has been FABULOUS. The customer service is unbeatable. Gym is clean and class instructors go above and beyond.

Eric Moore

I joined initially strictly because of the waterfalls in the hot tubs. It provided a great neck and back therapy for aching muscles. The club recently removed them and I am highly disappointed. They informed me it was due to some study involving heated, moving, chlorinated water is bad for you. Sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze. Canceling my membership.

Good facility, but weird hours for the tennis pro's. I can't ever seem to get a lesson at my convenience. It's always been at times like 9.00 am or 4.00pm when I should be at work. No faulting the quality of the pro's, but please lets have hours that are convenient for adult working members.

Would recommend you review your protocols surrounding cancellation of subscription. They seem to be negatively influencing your online reviews. They have caused our happy experience to be turned into a disappointing one. I now question whether we would be willing to re enroll when we return from our work deployment. The need for physical signatures is archaic and inconvienent.

This is more than a gym. It's a health club. The facility is very nice. The staff are super friendly. Yes, it can be a little crowded at times, especially on Mondays, but if you know when it's busy you can easily avoid going at those times. Some of the extra services are a little pricey but all in all I do not regret joining one bit! If you are a member of Vitality, you also get a pretty awesome discount here!

Srichakra Benda

It's for lifetime if you try it...

zhang rui

They are very friendly to get you sign the club. But if you have to cancel or hold your services, you will need to pay 1 extra month fees. I will file BBB claim and dispute my credit charge for this.

John Traylor

It's a great atmosphere. I am really just getting back into shape. So, while Im sure there are always those who will judge you, for the most part people are very encouraging and not too pushy.

This gym is horrible about customer service and billing. Watch out if you decide to go to Lifetime on Chauncey. I have been charged about 5 times now that I’ve actually noticed incorrectly. They charge and charge and even after you bring it to their attention you still have to call back to get a refund. You literally have to check your bank account every single MONTH to make sure you weren’t charged additional things you never even signed up for! It’s horrible. The ‘managers’ here in the aquatic center say ‘you won’t be charged any longer when you’re done with swimming lessons but nope, you still get charged months later and than have to send bank statements just to get a refund!! They will try and get every little dime from your bank, BEWARE and don’t say I didn’t warn you!

It has a little bit of everything and a great facility to accommodate my children so I can work out

The very top quality, premium fitness and wellness facility in Colorado Springs! We'll worth the cost!

It is awesome if you are 12 and older you need to be 12 and older to work out and swim laps and use the in door pool and the hot tub also they have safety breaks every 25 minutes for 10 minutes I mean how rude!!!

Austin Denworth

Great gym! Only downside is when you bring a friend they try to sell them on joining and do the whole tour; even though you pay extra to bring someone, rather than let you workout.

Christopher Wheatley

Using the swimming pool here while swim classes are in session is almost impossible during hours of 3pm - 7pm, and during this time they often have only 1 lane available for swimming and there is lots of competition for the lane. Also, the free lane is next to the lanes where they teach new swimmers so often the platforms that they use for the youngsters get pushed in to the swimming lane and you can run in to them while attempting to share the lane with another person.

A corrupt multi million dollar co-operation. I called to cancel my membership and they said: no, you must come and do it at the club. the company signed me up over the phone for the membership and now that I no longer want to be part of the corrupt LIFE TIME FITNESS, THEY SAY NO YOU HAVE TO BE HERE TO CANCEL IT.

Alex sherman

Victoria and Matchett, I hear your reviews and have to disagree. I have been in the gym many times during the classes you are describing and don't find it difficult to get a in a good workout. Yes, the gym is busy, but we all must respect everyone's time and the functions occurring. The Saturday class you are referring to is for Seniors, people who really need the motivation and help. The rowing machines are used during the class, and yes they are blocked. I have experienced this but had enough respect for other people to just move on and do something different. There is another rowing machine not used near the bikes and elliptical machines, which I myself have used during Saturday morning classes. We will always have to be patient when attending the gym at busy times. If you don't have that type of patience, try different times. We are all there for a common goal, to get fit and healthy. The trainers hired for that facility have only the best in mind for individuals that sign up for their services (including classes) to help them achieve their goals. I love Lifetime Fitness and all their staff for loving us and putting out best interest first.

LynnaK Teer

I rarely go anymore because it is so overcrowded. After the remodel, there is less room between pieces of equipment upstairs. It's really unfortunate because it takes away from the experience of getting a good workout in. It just gives the feel of "it's all about the bottom line" rather than the members. Dissappointed.

The Howells

We just joined Life Time Fitness and are super excited. Their facility is very clean and I like that it stays pretty busy. We also belonged to Villa until we decided on which gym would fit our family the best. We decided to go with Life Time because of their Tennis department but in all honesty Villa was a lot more friendly. Life Time staff just seems too busy to notice you and when you have a question they seem cold and look down on you. I haven't worked out in a long time and feel out of my element already so the unfriendly staff isn't really a help. We have met one or two friendly people out of the 30+ we have come in contact with. Lifetime is clean and their tennis department is amazing!! Very friendly people there!

Never been disrespected like this in my life before. The whole trainers staff need to be fired. They need to understand that they are not better or have more power here. They can't hold the machines to entertain thier clients not training them. Also how the hell some these people got to be trainers no idea. I'm so frustrated. People come here to chat not to workout. And I blame the trainers Mgr for this b.s.

I was told that if I upgraded my membership to platinum I would be able to use the tennis courts. I was excited...until I was informed that I had to dish out an extra 14 dollars to reserve a court...for 1 hour use. Now I don't know where y'all come from, but one does not simply play tennis for 1 hour. So I thought about it and added the $280 court time use (1 hour) to the $85 a month membership fee and simply told myself that there would be better facilities out there who be more willing to assist me.

J

A little overpriced for what I want to use the gym for. I suppose that's the cost to maintain this large of a gym. I just wish they had varied options for members like one price just to use wwights and cardio vs the same cost for someone who may use everything and wants that option. Also their children's center hours are way too limited. I can't even take advantage of the gym the entire weekdays because it's not open early enough and by the time I get off work and pick up my kids I wouldn't even get in a half hour and. 15-20 min workout isn't worth the trip to the gym with my kidsin tow. It should be a clue when the children's center staff remarks on the "number of parents who drop off their kids a quarter to in hopes of getting in some kind of a workout." Additionally the swim lessons have great instructors but come on with little ones (not big kids and teens) I'd like to actually be able to see my kids swim the entire time not watch from 100 yards away barely being able to find them!! Come on that's one of the rare joys of my day!! Maybe they could rid of those worthless slides at the indoor pool and move the viewing area there. (Open swim time is so limited anyways In the couple years Ive been a member I've never even witnessed them being used on an even semi-regular basis!

Brynn Agminalis

Awesome facility with so much to do, always super clean and sanitary the facility is 24/7 and very large so no matter what time you go its not really crowded. The spa is amazing and has very talented staff who know what they are doing, cafe always has great food and drinks, tennis court and rock wall are also awesome and always maintained. Staff are super nice and the one problem we did have with a staff member they management is always willing to listen to comments or concerns and they seem to take things very seriously like that so don't be afraid to talk to them if you have a problem. Overall a really nice place!

Adrian Klein

The gym is overpriced for what it is. Beyond that, my mother was hit and run in the parking lot, and lifetime policy does not allow for even the manager to report the license plate number on a police report, which then means the police cannot do anything until they are able to take the time to go out to the premises in a month. Lifetime's corporate policy protects criminals and does not care about their customers, until they write a bad review.

*** The 5 star rating is for the personal trainer I have been working with. Dante L. is awesome and super knowledgeable! He introduced me to ELDOA and it has helped me more than yoga ever has.!

Lillie Orth-Williams

Okay I have to say I love the facility itself. However; the classes can be extremely cramped. I was in a yoga class where our mats were literally touching on all four sides with the people around us. I didn’t like that every yoga class is heated either. Also in the dance classes the music is played at a deafening volume (they provide ear plugs thank god) Some of staff is awesome especially Janea who did my nails when I went there. I appreciated being able to cancel easily (no hassle) because we live too far away now to be able to visit as frequently as we would have liked. One major downside is the cleanliness though especially by the pool area. I witnessed a child urinate outside of the pool onto the ground and had to tell 3 staff members before it was cleaned up. It was absolutely disgusting. I hope they realize how important cleanliness is especially somewhere germs can spread so easily.

Kristi Gross

The facility is amazing. The staff is UNMATCHED! I've been a member for a month and continue to be blown away at the genuine care the people at Lifetime continue to show. There's a saying 'the church is the people, not the building', well, at Lifetime, you get both! Very blessed to be a part of such an awesome place!

Wayne V

Clean, well equipped, and crowded. Dry and wet steam sauna rooms are weak and often are just not working. Parker’s Lifetime is less crowded and saunas are good and hot.

Jennifer Talton

Joined about a year ago. I was a little hesitant to join at first because of some negative reviews I read but I decided to give them a shot & I'm glad I did!! Staff is always friendly & knowledgeable. Fitness area is huge & always plenty of machines open to use. Everything else from the classes, kids area etc..is great! I throughly look forward to going everyday and many more days to come!!

Erin Hunter

Fun, clean, and great cafe!

Brennan Patten

Brent over there is great. If you need to guy that you can ask a bunch of questions to that isn't going to be worried about the time that he's wasting with you, he's your man. The facilities are outstanding, with all the Creature Comforts you could imagine but still remembering that they need to focus on health. The restaurant is organic and natural. They don't put a bunch of sugar in their protein drinks. Perfect setup.

We’ve been with Lifetime for five years now. First in Austin, TX then Colorado Springs. While I always felt like the equipment was up to date, there were lots of classes and the staff was nice enough, my largest complaint is the CHILDCARE. Since we have been at Colorado Springs Lifetime (over 2 years now) my children have gotten sick OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. My kids don’t go to school, they don’t go to church, they aren’t in any playgroups. We took advantage of the gym daycare as a way for them to socialize and try different classes (which we have to pay for even if they don’t use them *thats another issue*). We are usually the first family in the morning to arrive and occasionally I’ve seen them cleaning the nursery items but I’ve only seen them cleaning the toddler toys ONCE. One time. In two years. Think about that. While they may have protocol for how often they are supposed to clean I don’t think anyone follows it. My kids picked up the stomach bug TWICE in three weeks. The only place they went was to the gym daycare and home. I scrub my house daily. For the amount of money I’m paying to have my kids in there I would expect they could afford cleaner that can be used multiple times a day. Not only that, but compared to other Lifetimes we’ve been to there is hardly anything for the kids to do there but play with a few balls and run around (eventually running into each other, which is how my son got a massive bloody nose). There isn’t a jungle gym outside (like other Lifetimes) or inside (like other Lifetimes). There’s a basketball hoop that’s way too high for the majority of the kids and once a week (if the staff feels like it) they pull out a bounce house (that probably never gets cleaned). I could also mention that when my daughter was in the infant room the staff let her scream for over an HOUR. When I got there she was in a swing, facing the wall, soaked in sweat and was screaming her lungs out. All while the girl working in the room sat in front of the ONE OTHER CHILD in the room who was perfectly content, with her back to my daughter. My four year old even asked “why is Sissy all wet?” I spoke to management and was less than impressed with his response. Which is what you’ll find if you have any complaints at Lifetime. Bottom line... it’s overpriced, crowded and the childcare is very unsanitary. After five years... I’ll take my money elsewhere.

Mike Johnson

This is a great facility, with exceedingly poor management. Management makes little if any effort to protect members, from those unfortunate few that possess a danger to the safety of others. I would advise anyone joining this facility to be prepared to be left on their own in the event that any danger arises. Frontline staff is deceptive, and senior managers are simply incompetent. As several of the reviews below acknowledge, this is among the worst gym staff that you will ever find. Not worth the price or the risk.

Katherine Pezzillo

Terrible customer service. Brand-new, nice facilities, but it's a lot of packaging and no substance. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Classes are boring and certainly no better than the YMCA. You might find yourself paying additionally for any service or class actually worth doing. If you have specific sports goal, seek them elsewhere. If you're into the family atmosphere and activities, join the Y. If you want a great pool, join the Y or Jewish Community Center. If you just want to workout on some equipment, save your money and go to snap or planet fitness. Employees at the entrance way seem to be the gatekeeper for any other service or personnel and yet they never seem to know how to help me or process my request. Expect to wait a lot. I was stood up on my first appointment to actually see the gym. I should have run far away after that. It has taken over three weeks to actually schedule swim lessons paid for up front. After realizing I left a garment in the locker room to dry I called the gym but they refused to go pick it up and hold it or put in lost and found or anything. That afternoon is was gone forever - after making a second trip and waiting almost 10 minutes for someone to simply get in touch with lost and found for me. All because they couldn't just hold it for me. A lot of employees I've encountered are rude or impersonal. Those that aren't are also wholly ineffective.

John Lang

Considering joining Lifetime Fitness? Captivated by their promise of a healthy future? Well consider this: Rate for new members, effective November 1, 2013: $77.00 (plus tax and Junior membership dues, if applicable). For some reason this price is difficult to find online, probably because it's so expensive. Here are the reasons for the 1 star rating in a helpful list: 1.) High member rate, as previously mentioned. 2.) Continually rising rates. I had been a member for three years and every October, like clockwork, I would get an email stating that my dues were going up, "just a few more dollars." 3.) Lifetime will not put your membership on hold. Even if you will be out of town for a few weeks, they will not pro-rate your cost. 4.) When you cancel your membership, they will charge you an additional month after the month when you cancel. (Ex. If you cancel in November, they will still charge you for December.) 5.) Lockers. The lockers are in desperate need of some rubber stoppers; expect a lot of slammed doors while changing. Also, if you lose the key to your locker, it's a $20 charge. 6.) Where is all this money even going? After working out there so long, you find their machines to be squeaky, wobbly, and often out of order. 7.) During peak times, there are not enough machines to accommodate the traffic. 8.) Speaker system. Why have the speakers up so much when at least 90% of the people use their own headphones? And why are there so many ads for Lifetime? I'm already there! So if you're looking into Lifetime, consider these points and come with an open wallet.

Warren Dunn

Lifetime is a good gym, a bit pricey but I was looking for a club to join after I recently moved to the area. The amenities make it all worth it in the end.

Andrew Thomas

Lifetime has a great atmosphere and wonderful staff. I joined the facility for the pool but I stayed because of group fitness. The locker rooms are always clean and smell fresh. Do be advised that you may struggle to get a swim lane during busy times due to swim team practice and or water aerobics. The group fitness is all included in the price of admission and they do an excellent job! My only complaint is that the place can be a bit over crowded at times.

Tin Vuong

Best gym I've ever been to. As a previous 24 hour fitness, LA Fitness, and a few other small club members this is my favorite gym of all time. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the membership price. There's no other way around it, the gym membership is pretty damn expensive but at no point did I feel that I got ripped off. It's like buying a luxury car, you probably don't need all of the amenities and you'll be paying $$$ but you'll love every bit of it. The gym literally has EVERYTHING you'd want. Lots of free weights, tons of machines, a gazillion treadmills and elipticals, a basketball court, tennis courts, hot tubs, large indoor and outdoor pool with a big slide. There's also pilates, yoga classes (which are really good), spin class, and an outdoor tower which is kinda like a boot camp/crossfit thing. If you sign up for an independent pilates or yoga studio you're already paying $120/mo alone. The showers and changing rooms are also very clean and maintained. If you've been to a 24 hour fitness then you'd know the locker rooms are a mess, smell, and I wouldn't want to ever shower in there. Everything about the gym is top notch and there's so much variety. Not to mention there is a cafe and salon/spa as well. As I said before, it's not cheap and I wish it was closer to $60-70/mo (I was paying nearly $90) but I did not feel bad about paying that much given how top notch everything was. If you can afford it or somehow get an employee or insurance discount definitely sign up for this gym. You won't regret it.

Disclaimer : Not a member yet. Not affiliated to this gym in any way. The best gym (fitness center rather) I have seen in Colorado Springs. Brand new equipment too. It has everything from cardio to weights to sauna to god..you name it, they have it! Thoroughly impressed. Price is on the higher side compared to other gyms. They do not offer military discounts, sadly. Terrific fitness center though.

Michael Kim

Executive health spa for the whole family. Well worth the pricey membership if you are investing in yourself and your health.

We we're members of Life Time for about 3 years. We discontinued our nembermemb because no one in our family was using it. I, specifically wanted to quit because the members are rude! I had a woman tell me to F off simply because I wanted to split sets on a piece of equipment. The staff handled that incident very well, but, afterwards I started to pay more attention to the members and the floor in general. Very over- crowded and very entitled membership body. No thanks!

tamara mcqueen

To me, it is comical how someone can come into a gym they are not at all familiar with and write a ridiculous review! I have belonged to this amazing gym for a few years now, go 6 days a week and obviously for a reason. The instructors, and caring they have for us patrons, is second to none! I would never miss one of Babette's classes, as she is the best inspiration one could get when trying to achieve even a small percentage of the fitness level she has. She is beautiful inside and out and we are fortunate to have her! Each and every one of her classes is packed to over limit and one has to go early to be lucky enough to get a spot Thank you Babette for being who you are, and taking time in your very busy life to kick our butts! Also, a shout out to the VERY many wonderful instructors there that we are blessed to have!! Best gym ever!

Allie Ainsworth

Absolutely filthy. Smells terrible too. No effort to keep the machines sanitized throughout the day. I have gotten sick 2x from virus’s I picked up there. Many of my friends have children who contracted the flu there as well as warts on their feet after participating in swim activities. The only reason this place is still open is there isn’t any competition in the area. Gross and dirty gym.

Rob Stewart

Every time I have a problem and communicate with staff they do an excellent job of helping and responding!!!

Lynne Cockrum-Murphy

Very disappointed in this company since they took over 24 Hour FItness. They have treated my trainer poorly, and they have still to recognize that I paid in advance for training. Still waiting on them. Have worked with several employees to get their computers to update. Still nothing! Wish they'd disappear. I'd get just as much service.

Construction is such BS. Closed down for members and constant absurd gross noise in a highly populated area. Disgusting ownership and management.

I hate most gyms they try and just screw you out of money like golds gym . I love this gym though every one has been more then kind. Also the fact mma, kickboxing and jujitsu are included in the membership is what sells me. Normally you pay 150 alone just for boxing but here has 3 martial arts just for. 90 . The gym is always very clean . The martial art instructors here are also amazing. I’ve been to a decent amount of gyms and have found learning easiest here. Juan is a amazing instructor and really nice guy whose great at breaking it down to understand.

Nickel and dime you to death about everything. Have to pay for babysitter to join in order to take underage son to swim. Already paying her as babysitter. We have a wheelchair bound handicapped son who cannot swim and should not as he is not potty trained. She will need to tend to him and be available in case little brother have issues. Now double paying just for him to go swimming. Facilities nicer than YMCA. But today they had vomit in pool just like anywhere else and has to close leisure pool. And management team needs to come up with a better answer than the copy and paste call us if you have problems or like to discuss as with everyone’s comment with satr of 1 or less. Public relation and run around with no result.

Monica Crothers

Love this gym. Staff is nice and helpful. I always see them cleaning the machines and bathrooms. It’s also has a spa feel to it, so it’s very enjoyable to go there and workout.

Alicia Cox

I left this place about 2 years ago because of the way they were running the place. Just went back yesterday and I sat down and drilled a supervisor with questions about what their members will benefit from this place. I also told him about my experience at Lifetime before. And this guy was not trying to sell me on anything... Their vision and what they want their employers to acheive has completely changed. They care about their members and they treat the guests like royalty. All new staff, all new benefits, all new vision, a beautiful facility run by some pretty awesome people who want to help you see results. They won't disappoint!

Sarah Swindle

This is the most frustrating gym ever. I signed up for a class with a trainer and they kept charging me after I didn't renew the class. Got my money back after a month long battle. I wanted to cancel my membership in August since I moved and I was told I didn't need to do anything but give my thirty day notice. They kept charging me two months after I canceled my membership. Membership services did call me back after I left a voicemail but doesn't know if she can refund the $200 they've taken out of my account. Beyond frustrated with this gym. Take your money somewhere else.

Gandalf

Terrible absolutely terrible I will say that I've never been to a gym that had such little class.... I usually attend Colorado Athletic Club in Denver and recently moved to the Springs, so I wanted to try this gym. The general manager was super rude and the whole vibe of this gym was RUDE. It was also very dirty and the machines were broken down.... definitely going to VILLA SPORTS

Best gym in town facility wise, great classes, rock climbing wall, water slide outside. but a bit pricey, the staff will say anything to try and milk you out of more money than you already pay per month while attempting to cast doubt on anything you say you do or use that's not through them directly. All of their stores on site are way over priced (marked up protein powders, $60 for a t shirt that costs $2-4 to manufacture etc.) Also you can't even use the rewards points they give you on 9/10 stores they have plus the ones you can use it on they won't let you pay completely in accrued points. Would recommend the gym itself but dodge the extras the company tries to get you interested in. Better to do your own research and get your own equipment for there.

Poor customer service to loyal customers. I have been a member for at least 5 years if not more. I am visiting colorado & wanted to use the pool for an hour but no I cant even as a guest I have to pay $20.. Ironically they would let a stranger use the facility as a guest but not a loyal member. This is not about the money. I feel betrayed & makes me think of doing business somewhere else!!

My sister and I took an ELDOA class with Dante. We both benefitted from the session and see how beneficial classes like these can be for promoting health and wellness in the body. It was a challenging class. Dante gave clear and precise instruction throughout the session. With each pose and stretch he would first model the proper way to be in position and also show the correct way to do the movements. He was very encouraging and helpful as he explained what the purpose was for each movement physiologically as well corrected us when we were not doing the stretch and movements correctly. He is an excellent instructor and very professional. Overall, we enjoyed taking his class and appreciate his expertise in ELDOA.

I want to start by saying that I think the GM has been doing a great job in keeping this gym operating. My beef comes from seeing the locker room manager from the White Bear Lake, MN locaton is now here. My wife and I split our time between AZ and MN and will be here full time someday. Why would we take in the trash they were dealing with in a location that is smaller with less staff when his management and upkeep of a that location were poor at best. Did anyone consult with his old GM before hiring him? Staff and guests were disgruntled with his work ethic and management skills. He walks around all cocky like he knows what he is doing when really he has his head up his ass. The equipment was never fixed properly at the other location. My wife experienced that there and even talked to him directly about it and it still didn't get fixed. I talked to some of my MN contacts and they laughed that he followed us here after they got rid of him. I would think more research would happen before hiring people in management positions.

Jaret Moore

Workers at the front are always so friendly and kind. The mma trainer juan and the jujistu instructor are the main reason I go to this gym though. They are both very well trained and creative instructors who value their students and teach amazing well. If they ever leave the gym I'll be leaving with them . Much love to this gym and the coaches.

I am a Bronze member at a Lifetime in Goodyear, AZ. I was going to be in Colorado Springs for the entire month of July and I saw that there was a Lifetime very close to my hotel. After talking to the staff in Goodyear, they said I could use the club in CO Spgs. But because they are a Platinum club in the Springs, I may have to pay about $90 to use the club for the month. The day I pulled into town, I went there and spoke with Sara to see what I needed to do to use the club. She said she would talk with her manager and get back with me. She was very responsive and called back the next day and stated that I could use the club at no charge. Basically, because I was a member in Goodyear, they had no issue with me using their club. Big shout out to this club for hooking me up! If I didn't get free access to their club, I would have been stuck with using the hotel for my fitness.

Austin Thies

The higher cost made me expect more, and I planned on cancelling "when" they didn't meet my expectations, but I was wrong, and they have delivered. Now I'm a believer. I've been a member for four months now and couldn't be happier with the place. It'd be hard for me to start going to a lesser quality gym if I couldn't come here. It's definitely worth the price, if it's in your budget. There are always lots of people here, but the place is designed to accomodate that amount of people. I've never had a problem waiting for a machine, getting into a class, getting a swim lane, etc. I love the amenities. They keep up the maintenance on their facility and everyone is super nice. The place is very kid friendly, which is something I was nervous about because I don't want kids around when I'm working out, but it's never been an issue. It seems like the activities they have for kids are put together very nicely, if you want to bring your family.

Exposing naked children to adults in the lobby. That's what this gym does, despite the complaints and multiple reviews stating as much. Door to family locker room opens right in front of the line of people checking in, in the lobby. Its because the family locker room isn't meant to be so - there is no partition or way to block the door. It's so obviously wrong, yet they neglect to fix it. Add to the fact that they don't enforce the no pass through rule, so folks from the pool keep passing through and opening the door exposing all the half dressed adults and naked children to the people in the lobby. This happens 100's of times a day. While getting dressed I watched 5 ignorant people(older ladies mostly) ignore the rule and pass right through with all their gear in tow, coming from a swimming event. This happens all day, we complain to the front, they never fix. I'm going to snap a photo next time and add it to this review so everyone on the internet can see the exposed people in the locker room that can be seen from the front door. Might as well put a glass wall up instead so folks can play peek-a-boo on the naked folks in the locker room, it's almost the same as having a door with no blocker open directly into the lobby. This is neglect.

Extremely clean, professional, and innovative gym. Although pricey, they offer discounts for young professionals working in the area. Similar to a student discount or family plan, it is very helpful in making it possible! I particular love the relaxing hot tub, swimming pools, steam room, and showers. You know gyms aren’t expected to be 100%, but lifetime is the closest Iv been to getting as close to that as possible! Iv been to many different popular gyms and lifetime has consistently been the cleanest. Also, the air quality is very good, which is ironically not always a priority for certain gyms. I highly recommend lifetime to anyone looking for lots of fun, serious working out, a chill spot, complimentary yoga and fitness classes, and much more. I just joined and cheers to many years of healthy living.

The stories you are reading here are true. The greed of this place is unbelievable! I enjoyed the facilities but the way they run this place is a joke. First of all they make it incredibly hard to cancel! You must be in person and they will not help whatsoever over the phone, not that big of a deal, considering I was right down the road but was moving out of town and the move takes president over having to go in there to sit for an hour to cancel your membership. My biggest issue was that I thought I would be moving, so I suspended my account for 10 bucks a month. At that time I was told that $10 would go towards LTbucks, where it can be used in other parts of there company. So I thought I would be fine with that and get a massage at a later date. When finding out that I would be moving I went through their crazy rat race to get the membership completely canceled. At that time the manager said you have so and so months till these "LTbucks" expire. Well ok then Mr. Manager... One month later I am at a point where I can go in there and get the massage I was looking for and they basically said "You are no longer a member and anything you acquired here can't be used" Hmmm.. Well after 4 phone calls letting them know how I felt, I still got no where and they got over on me for another $110. More or less don't deal with them and if you do make sure EVERYTHING they tell you is in writing. Trust me on this!

Great place to work! Welcoming staff and fantastic managers! Also free membership for all employees. Always needs lifeguards!

Packed facility, inept and poorly trained staff.

I’ve been a member of Lifetime Fitness since it first opened in Vestavia Hills. In that time I’ve seen the quality of this gym go downhill. The gym is amazing, but it’s member size has become so big over the past couple of years that it’s difficult to get the workout in that you’re planning to do since so many people are on the equipment. The trainers for the most part won’t give you the time of day unless you are in one of their classes, a meathead, or a beautiful woman. They have all these rules for the gym that no one follows. I’ve gotten sick 3 times due to their steam room being constantly dirty. I know other members that have had the same experience. Other issues are members leaving dirty towels EVERYWHERE, people always having gym bags everywhere on the weight room floor even though they’re not supposed to, people hang out on equipment instead of using it, and it’s difficult to find a parking spot. To sum it up the look of the gym is incredible, but it’s a good looking car with a terrible engine that constantly breaks down. As soon as I find something better I will be leaving and it’s a shame, because this gym has so much potential but obviously cares more about the money they bring in instead of keeping their members happy!

I am already familiar with the Life Time facility and visited this weekend with the sole intention of signing up for membership. After a friend/coworker and I sat down to discuss packages with someone from the sales team, we asked to also have details on corporate partnership, as our workplace has been looking to subsidize gym memberships for its employees. That's when we had the unpleasant experience of speaking with the Sales Manager Yassna. Right off the bat, she approached us pretty aggressively, asking what information we needed. After explaining our situation, Yassna immediately questioned why we visited Life Time as opposed to another gym that offered lower rates, and whether or not my friend and I could even afford the memberships as individuals. We, at first confused, responded with silence in a failed attempt to keep the conversation from being too uncomfortable. Then, Yassna proceeded to call the pair of us, 25 and 27 year old women (she obviously assumed we were younger), "very cute" and explain that this was "probably not the right gym for us." On our way out, Yassna must have caught my friend and I give each other "the look" because she then sarcastically shouted at us from the other side of the hallway, "Goodbye ladies! Toodles!" It is shocking to me that somebody with such poor communication skills can hold the Sales Manager position at such an "upscale" gym. I've lived in this neighborhood for years and have never experienced such poor customer service. I am hoping that the management team is concerned enough to help rectify these bad business practices. I am deeply disappointed that this was one of the first faces I ran into at Life Time and was talked OUT of the membership I was essentially handing over.

Everyone here is friendly and knowledgeable. Equipments are well-maintained, complete, and up-to-date. I also like the fact that the people who workout here are not “ghetto”—you get what you pay for. I’ve been working out here for over two years now.

Scott Benfield

Awful and rude staff ! And Poor up keep of equipment.

Meiyu Dean

rude staff

No one ever answers phone at member services desk when you call. When you call main number and get activities desk they answer ever other call or so. Ridiculous for all the money they want you to pay for the gym. Gym is nice to look at but for the same amenties for a family you can go to YMCA or YWCA and pay the same price you pay for one person.

Ellen Rehme

Clean and a few good classes. No pool availability at all and they refuse to open lanes. One out of 10,000 adult lifetime members can use the pool during the busiest hours during the week. Multiple times members have complained and they will not open lanes. Pretty expensive membership dues for this kind of facility access.

Ashley Hubbard

I have been a member since this location has opened. It was great, but now it is so over crowded. It is not worth the money every month to come here and have to spend most of the time waiting for a machine. How greedy is corporate that they keep stuffing more people in this gym instead of worrying about the members they already have? Definitely thinking about canceling and going with another place where I can actually get a workout in.

Michael Harris

I have used dozens of other gyms ranging from apartment complex gyms to strip mall gyms and this by far is the best gym I've used. Yes, it costs a bit more than others in the area, but you get what you pay for. The gym is always immaculate and the machines are working. They also have any and every machine you could dream of, so no excuses for not being able to get in a workout. The atmosphere and the people that go to this gym also make it that much better. You get every walk of life here, from the people who are just beginning and trying to lose weight to men and women who have spent years in the gym and are professionals, yet you never feel intimidated. Ask for a spot from anyone in the gym and I guarantee you they'll happily oblige. Half the battle with finding a good gym is finding one that makes you actually want to workout and do well just by being inside it. This place has that. The staff have always been beyond gracious and are terrific. If you go in looking to join, ask for Nick. He's straight forward, very honest, and will get you exactly what you need. No nonsense and no over the top selling, just a good guy looking to help you out. If you're looking into personal training, definitely ask for Corey. I gave personal training a shot for the first time in my life ( I'll admit it's not the cheapest, but oh man is it worth it) and I couldn't be more satisfied with my decision. Within 2 months I was 110% beyond where I thought I could ever be with my body. Without Corey's help, I wouldn't be anywhere near the shape I am in now. Spend the money and do it, you won't regret it.

R Heffner

Frankie Franklin

Its actually a day care posing as a gym... The place is overran by kids, they get to do whatever whenever. It was great trying to get my laps in at the pool when the kids kept just jumping in the lanes and no one stopped them. Where are the parents at? Good luck with trying to do anything there, unless it is at an extremely off peak time.

There place is taxing!! Staff sucks ass!! They don't care and neither do the people up top!! Place is trash! Filthy always out of order equipment and since renovation all been down hill!! Save yourself from this S*** gym! I hate this place!! They just want your money!! Pathetic place!!

It's like pulling your teeth to suspend your membership for a few months. Just cancel is your gonna be gone a few months the perks are both worth it. They do not value their members your just another number remember that. Never will I ever use this gym again. I would rather be overweight and die of a heat attack before i would use this membership have no customer service at 6 at all through corporate the gym itself is pretty nice pretty clean but very disappointed

Lifetime has been good to my family. We have lived at the pool every weekend this summer. The personal trainers are very nice and I have enjoyed my trainer very much. I had to put my membership on hold several months due to surgery and they stopped the monthly charges immediately, giving me three months with one less worry. It does get expensive, especially if you want to do anything beyond the basic workouts, but they seem to have specials once in a while so take advantage when you can, and understand everyone will want you to buy extras. I do wish the pool had a true deep end and the lifeguards worked harder to get the people not doing laps out of the lap lanes, and off the lap lanes. It would also be nice if there was a larger family changing area. That's just because I hate changing in front of other peoples kids. And the rock wall is an amazing tool, and maybe there should be more adult time? Just a few suggestions. One thing I truely love...the sales rep who signed us up still remembers our names and always says hello when we walk by his office. Overall, the customer service is the reason we drive 40 minutes daily to workout at lifetime.

Jason Cheung

Todays date is Oct 2, 2018, the time now is 6:10 pm. and I was trying swim in the lap pool. But both indoor and out door lap pool have been taken for swiming class. Total 12 lines, all taken. If you plan to have a nice swim after work every day, give up buddy, dont come to lifetime. True story. Roll Tide.

Zachary Sims

Staff is extremely nice. The facility is clean and maintained very well.

Jeffrey Parsons

We've been members for about 6 months and it is the brightest, friendliest gym I've ever belonged to. There are more machines than you have ever seen and a nice variety of classes and activities. The pools are great for young kids, especially the large water slides. Good food in the cafe, kids' care is nicely done. All this comes at a price, however, as it's a lot to pay if you only plan on riding treadmills or pumping weights. If you are looking for just fitness equipment, it might be wise to shop around.

Jessica

My family joined not too long ago and was disappointed almost immediately. The locker rooms usually have over flowing towel bins and trash. If you want to go anytime in the morning, lunch break or after work allow extra time for parking as it is usually packed full at these times. At these times, there are usually cardio machines available but the weights area is too full to find a spot to workout . The pool areas are decent but the staff running the pools are not trained or managed properly. There are not a standard set of pool rules they follow or maybe make rules up as they see fit. The indoor pool is not accessible for families at reasonable hours due to swim lessons. The whole pool is shut down for this. If the weather is bad you cannot swim inside till swim lessons are over. When the outdoor pool was broken one day there was mayhem and no adult staff around to assist members or give information. The younger staff took this opportunity to socialize while families waited for answers with frustrated children. The childcare center is a safety hazard. I hate be sound repetitive, but the staff in the child care area are so poorly trained its scary. You have toddler to age 11 grouped together in a large area with little supervision. There are large amounts of children in the morning time, so much so that you can barely walk through. There is never enough staff on hand to assist the children with conflicts or maintain safety. The staff stand around telling (even yelling) at the children not to run and that they will get a timeout of they keep running. Time out should be the last resort after engaging the children in play and redirecting behavior as needed. The staff have little to no interaction with the children, outside of telling them to stop, and often looked bored. Lifetime should consider getting licensed by the state for childcare to improve this experience. The past few weeks the buildings been torn apart for construction. The only thing I can tell they are upgrading is the floors. There are boxes and trash everywhere. The halls are lined with pallets of flooring. Lifetime management should be ashamed of how their building looks and how they are treating there clients at this time.

Judy Berneske

I am appalled that Lifetime will not partner with Silver Sneakers! Several health insurance companies include a SS membership for seniors. That allows seniors to use any facility that participates. SS pays the facility per member per visit. So everyone wins! I have attempted to discuss this with someone in charge there at Lifetime. But they will not return calls or even respond to a formal letter sent through postal mail. One has to wonder about their sincerity and commitment to a healthy lifestyle, their community-mindedness and their motivation.

Mark Smith

Plagued with poor management. Carefully follow if you sign up for autopay because they charged me for services which I did not receive. Swim lesson which never occurred. After discussing with front desk as well as membership services this was not corrected. Will review if this is ever corrected although actively visiting other gyms at present time.

korie jackson-kimball

This gym is nice. It's fairly clean. I love the eucalyptus steam room! It's always busy. I've yet to go when it's not. However considering how much the membership is, it's disappointing that certain things cost extra. Like many of the workout classes and tennis courts. Those should be included. Even 24 hr doesn't charge extra for any classes. The pool is also disappointing. No deep ends. Only goes to 4 ft. Im 5'2, would like to have an area to swim where my feet don't touch the ground. Otherwise I have no other complaints.

angie arriola

Horrible horrible experience, if I could leave a zero star I would. I love the facility, and the pool, but let me start off with saying that the customer service from Jordan was HORRIBLE. She tells you anything to get you started, kind of like a bait and switch. My family and I went in one night.. my husband, myself and our four kids. We went over the whole process, walked through facility, went over Pricing and prorated rates.. we decided not to sign up that day, and the next day Jordan calls with great news. The sign up fee went from 99 to 29. This sounded good so we signed up online. A few days later I gt a call, I need birth certificates from my kids because they have different lat names. I explain to them I just moved here and don’t have them. Jordan said she would see what she could do and get back to me.. I never heard back from Jordan, so I talk to another gentlemen. He tells me they do need it, I explain to him that I don’t have it, and we just left it at that. I went to the gym yesterday with my family.. I was inactive along with one of my kids. Then I was told I was inactive because I have a different last name as the primary member. This was a first I had even heard of this, why did nobody tell me this??? Why would they cancel me with no forewarning, along with two of my kids. I spoke to a team member about how unprofessional this was, nobody told me we would be dropped? Nobody even tried to work with us to resolve this issue. He said he would give us a call back the next day after he talks to management. Well today I get a voicemail saying that basically I am a liar, and that the manager Cody DID tell me we would be dropped.. this is blatantly a lie. I work in Customer service and let me tell you something. I would NEVER leave a voicemail like that to anybody. Cody never told me we were getting dropped, but I guess we should have really been given an Altimatum in the beginning when they noticed my kids had different last names. Give us birth certificates, if you can’t find them we will refund your money. Get it together guys. Show a little bit of compassion for your customers. I have never had problems like this with any gym. I have been embarrassed and treated unfairly because my kids are different last names. We are a blended family, and I am Mexican and e s white, and our kids are white and Mexican... is this normal routine? Is it racism? I don’t know. I do want answers!

I've been a Life Time Fitness member off and on for several years now. Yes, the price is higher than other gyms out there, but what kept me coming back? The atmosphere and quality of facilities. I consider this gym to be essential to my mental health. Having a CLEAN, well maintained place to go to and get the inspiration I need to push further every day keeps me coming back again and again. I feel that Life Time focuses on health in a way that inspires me to make better choices for my future, providing excellent amenities which make it easier for me to enjoy the journey along the way.

Will Tuma

Gym is quite expensive and many services cost money but you get what you pay for. If you are on a tight budget looking just for some basic weights to lift this probably isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a gym with amazing personal trainers, lap pools, saunas, weight room, sports/fitness/MMA classes and an all around healthy and friendly environment... this is the place for you.

David Gullatte

I don't understand the negative reviews for this place. I love it here. I joined right when they opened, and have been going regularly ever since. The facilities are top-notch, the staff is always friendly, and the instructors for any classes (yoga, spin, etc.) are all really great. I also eat from the LifeCafe a few times a week, and the food is great. Some of the stuff isn't as healthy as they like to claim (a turkey sandwich on white ciabatta bread with mayo and avocado isn't exactly a fat shredder...), but it beats the hell out of most other things you would grab on the go. This place really changed my life - I was a bit sedentary and out of shape when I joined, and now I've never looked/felt better. I keep going back because it really is a great experience every time. Sure it's expensive, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. I've had plenty of opportunities to change to a more inexpensive gym, but I couldn't imagine working out anywhere else.

UPDATE: I originally gave Life Time a rating of 4. But since their construction/renovation, I am giving them a 1-or really a ZERO! They DO NOT care about their members. More than half of their equipment has been unavailable for the past week and will continue to be unavailable for another week. Half of this month (July) there will be very limited workout equipment and very over crowded because of this. We asked if there was going to be a partial months dues refunded to members because of all the closures. The answer we received was a big fat NO and there was nothing offered in replace; the employee who responded also talked down to us, pretty much saying we need to find alternative workouts. We are VERY disappointed with their lack of customer service. I DO NOT recommend this gym AT ALL, they are money hungry and do not care to please their members. ___________________________________________________________ So far my husband and I love this place! The child care is great with wonderful, caring employees! It's clean and there's always open machines and weights. The pool is great too! Friendly staff. The only complaint I have is about the parking lot... the parking lines are next to impossible to see. People are taking up two or more spots due to not being able to see were the lines are. This is a big problem because it gets so busy here and it's difficult to find a parking spot.

mark chapman

I am a salesman, not in a cutthroat gym business, I understand the hard sales pitch to a degree. The staff unlike a review I read has been just great and I have been to out of state clubs as well. The facilities are the nicest in the area, that said as a member, it is expensive ($180 for my wife, me and 8 yr. old) which in a way I don't mind because I have never felt rushed or lacking in an open machine or treadmill, I am also a member of the Hoover Rec and I like it,that said if picking the wrong time can mean waiting for machines. That if I am in workout mode is worth the extra money. When I am doing my workout I do not want to wait and keep moving BUT--I DO HAVE A BEEF SINCE JOINING they have cut programs and hours for the children's section which quite honestly was my reason for joining. It is not much good if they have a program for my son if I can't make it in time since I/wife work. IF you are going to go often, don't join for the minors, the cost may be worth it, if not join Planet Fitness, the Rec or some other cheaper gym. Notice I didn't mention the YMCA, this place vs them is worth the extra as they are not really that cheap or nice, only bonus is there are more outlets to go to. Single, adult couple 4 (5 if money is not a concern) stars one lost for cost---with kids 1 star for changing the rules AFTER the sign up---not appreciated

Lauren Schweikert

Great swim team. So clean. My kids love it.

Do NOT give them your email or phone number if you are a prospect. They will call you and email you CONSTANTLY! I was going to join but it became borderline harassment. I have asked them to take me off their contact list weeks ago but am still receiving emails.

I have only been going here about two weeks but this place is great! Came from Golds Gym and have no regrets. Machines are usually open and there are a lot of them. There is a stretching area, lots of cardio machines, a good free weight selection. Parking isn’t an issue. Employees are friendly and helpful. It is everything I was looking for in a gym.

Garrett Settle

I absolutely loved Lifetime. It's worth the money that you pay. Unfortunately I just don't have enough money any more. I went in to cancel my membership and they offered to put my membership on hold for a lower price each month. I declined and with no further questions they canceled my membership. Very easy process. The parking is a little bad during the busier times of the day but that really didn't bother me too much considering I'm going there to work out so walking a little further will only improve my work out. Great place!

Ellen Dahl

I have been a member for years. I love it. Excellent equipment/top notch professional trainers and instructors/and a full-service gym

Andrew McGee

Rude staff. High prices. They charged me for a session I didn’t take. Do not join this hack job gym, they will try and rob you.

They say that they’re a onyx membership gym and tel you they offer more amenities. This gym is exactly the same as the one in Goodyear, AZ. This is the first time I’ve ever written a review on a place.

I have never loved working out anywhere as much as I do here. The staff is very friendly and always excited to help whether it's a silly question or advice on equipment. The parking lot is huge so there are a lot of spots to choose from (some are just a bit far from the door but hey it's the gym I can use the walk lol). The gym itself is extremely clean and there are cleaning supplies everywhere which is great for a germaphobe like me. The classes are great and there are plenty to take part in. And even if you are new to it the instructors take the time to walk you through everything and check in on you. I love this gym and I am excited to see the staff every time I arrive and they always treat me kind and with respect. I 100% recommend them.

I have been using lifetime for several months now and I love it! I even started a business membership for all of the staff at my small business that gives them discounted membership prices.... and they love it. Lifetime is the most upscale luxurious gym I have been to and you do get what you pay for. The staff has all been great- Jamie at the door, Brandon- helping me get our staff signed up, the swim instructors and Colleen who cares for the locker rooms. I was even able to visit the Lifetime in Manhattan and I must say, I love the vestavia location more! Talk to your employers about a business membership. It will reduce the cost, reduce everyone's stress and improve health and work performance- a good investment in the people who work hard for you every day!

It's a great gym with everything you could want. It has all the equipment you could need, while all being nice, clean, and up to date. It is expensive, but it is worth it. It's really nice that it's open 24 hours, so it's easy to workout whenever fits your schedule. Definitely worth the money.

Cory Smith

Life time is by far the best gym in Alabama. They have the best services to help you meet your fitness goals and a very clean facility with staff that care about you. I will forever be a lifetime member!

Sarah Harvey

I have been going for three month and am extremely happy with the gym. I think it's quite affordable considering the luxury of the whole place. We are very glad we joined.

Jan R

Very disappointed with general manager at this location . They charged my card 150$ over last month . I called they said it was for personal training which I never sighed up for . After I explained to them I never did it , they told me they will find out which trainer put me under him or her and trainer and general manager will contact me to opalogise for the mistake . 20 days past nobody called me and they just put 150$ back to my act. 20 days after. Watch you bill from this plays every month , they do staff like that and if u don't check u will pay for nothing . I'm thinking to join other gym now . Crooks

Life Time Fitness calls themselves "The Healthy Way of Life Company." However, the Scottsdale location just implemented a new lighting system in their spin room with flashing lights. These kinds of lights are known to induce headaches and seizures in some people. I have a seizure disorder and thus, am no longer able to attend my usual spin classes. I imagine this is an attempt by the company to keep up with the latest fads in fitness. However, I think it's about time for them to change their slogan to something more fitting.

I have been a LT member since the very beginning and I was relatively happy...at first. I did notice that the service is slowly going down (tennis, swimming lessons for children...). The quality is going down. But what I experienced today, I can not even describe! It was a busy Saturday morning, Mr. Payne's group lesson completely took up the central area of main gym including multiple exercise machines. I attempted to use the rowing machine, which was not currently being used. Payne was extremely aggravated and condescending, he told me to leave the rowing machine or if I want to use it I must pay him for a group lesson. He behaved like he owns the gym. I was shocked! I pay for membership and I can not use the empty rowing machine for 15 min! I immediately brought the incident to attention of Tim King, the manager. So far I have not received any response from him. As a physician, I found the behavior of Mr. Payne simply insane and probably supported by LT administration.

I only write bad reviews if I feel it is absolutely necessary. With that being said, I cannot tell you how upsetting it was dealing with the staff at lifetime fitness. I recently had to freeze my membership as I had not fully moved from California and I had a shared account with my mom so that we could grab the discount deal they offer. On August 4th I walked in to meet a man named Trey, I told him I needed to get my card and unfreeze my account. He said the only way I could do so is if my mom walked in an gave her signature. I asked if I could pay with my own card instead, he said no, the only thing you can do is start a new membership with an initiation fee that I had already paid with my mom, or a $30 guest pass. I asked if there were any options for the day as I didn’t mind paying but I wasn’t getting any breaks from this guy and he didn’t seem to care one bit. In fact, when I decided to leave, he turned around and started smiling. The staff at this gym are pretentious, rude, and DO NOT care about their customers one bit. The gym is cool and has nice equipment but it is not worth dealing with these terrible people. Stay away if you don’t want to engage in a very bad energy environment. Note to lifetime fitness: I hold the title for the highest rated internet marketing consultant on Google, and I plan to get a ton of publicity out about how bad of an experience I had here.

Al Bland

I paid $600 for nothing!!!! I put my membership on hold 5 years ago and when I went to unhold it, it was at the regular rate. I have been paying a fee every month to keep it on hold, basically for nothing. $10 a month x 12=120 $120 x 5 years = $600 I feel like I have been robbed. No one informed me of any rate changes to my account over the years whatsoever via cell, or email. I am a single mom and I have had tight finances since my divorce in 2013, and I always hoped that I would have the money to unfreeze my account. I cannot tell you how disappointed and betrayed I felt when I learned they have been basically charging me for nothing. Nothing at all. Update: I called the gym and was told a manager would call or email me back. They never did. Then a week later I called again and was told that I could speak to the manager but that they were busy and would call me back. They never did.

Lauren Carlson

Yes, its higher on the price scale compared to other gyms... But if you are willing to invest in yourself in this way, the trainers and staff will invest in you. I have had a membership with Life Time for over a year now and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I used to be anti anything that seemed mega-corporate, but Life Time has changed my perspective. They are successful because they care. The staff is friendly and I have come to find a great community at Life Time.

Kari Aho

I absolutely would not recommend this business. They are about memberships and money and not about community or customers. Take your business elsewhere.

We have extensive experience with Life Time. Sometimes it's ok, other times we get frustrated with its lack of consistency in areas of management, cleanliness, and professionalism/ethics. If we had another option, we would take it without thinking twice. The "current" GM (yes, he is a gym manager) lacks serious skills in people management. The staff say he is great with numbers--which should tell you something about him and the company. The member experience is lacking. If you want or need it, they will NOT provide nor will they listen. What is apparent is the care management shows to making things easier on management. Their internet went out. It was NOT working at all. Wi-fi was non-existent. I had asked the sales manager if their internet was down and when they expected it working again. With his head in his phone, he answered with "yeah, it's down" and went back to his important text or whatever he was doing. Bathrooms & Locker Room: The bathrooms are atrocious: tampons on the floor, urine on the stainless steel doors, and trash in the lockers. Now, sometimes it isn't like this. There are times it is clean, but inconsistently. Showers have a film on the floor so wear flip flops to save yourself disease. Weight lifting equipment: Equipment is somehow lacking in a GYM. There are several low weight dumbbells scattered on the workout floor and you are luck if you are able to get one of the ONE SET of 30-90 lb dumbbells. On your average normal day, you are lucky to get a bench and will have to really "get in there" if you are ever going to get a decent lifting day accomplished. But, Life Time did manage to add 6 new rowing machines. Ridiculous. Child Center: This is the one area I have very good things to say about. The staff is great, know names, apply rules, and generally are very pleasant people who do interact with your children. If it were not for the child center, we would not be members of Life Time. Front Desk Staff: Some are very polite and courteous. Others are downright demeaning and couldn't be bothered to work. Comes from the top down folks. The GM couldn't be bothered with suggestions on improvement and I am certain more concerned with his "numbers" as he is known as the "numbers guy". Enough said. You get the picture. Not worth $200 a month. When our kids are old enough, we are outta there.

By far my favorite gym ever!! So clean compared to other gyms in the area like 24 hour fitness. Worth every penny

If I could give it a negative star I definitely would!!!! Robert Decker the senior manager neglected to mention that there are sign up fees, all that was mentioned is a flat rate of $99 a month with no contract. Signed up my mom, everything was electronic and got bills not what was stated in the office during the sign up process! Poor costumer service!!!!! Very disappointed and will not come back!

I've been a member since this facility opened in Colorado Springs. I was excited when a remodel took place all summer long. Unfortunately, after months of lost services and inconvenience, the outcome couldn't be worse. A good fourth of the training area upstairs was sacrificed along with numerous workout machines for what can best be described as a piece of playground equipment. The revamped floor space means that weight benches are squished together. At top hours, good luck not tripping over one another, and that's assuming you can even get one of the too few benches. Previously during afternoons, evenings, and weekends, you could always go for the training machines when the free weights were swamped. Unfortunately, the remodel sacrificed a bunch of those, too. The few machines that are left are so squished together that you're often staring eye-to-eye with someone four feet away. Try walking through the free weights and the weight machines at your own risk; everything is so jammed together that you can hardly get from one side of the workout area to the other without dancing through equipment or somebody's workout. The hot tubs were remodeled, but apparently only to remove the waterfalls, which were great for relaxing kinks out of your neck and back. For the last week, the steam room in the men's locker room has been half dark, with half of the fluorescent lighting completely malfunctioning. On top of that, charges for things like Parents Night Out have almost doubled in the last two years. I cancelled my membership today after six plus years of loyalty, and lo and behold we have pay for another month per their membership policy. So, long story short, it's a great gym if you have unlimited piles of money and you don't want to, you know, work out.

Daniel Lindegren

Gym is state of the art. Great machines, lots of free weights etc. Food is great too.

J L

The gym is nice but the pool area is absolutely ridiculous and so loud. They do absolutely nothing about kids screaming like their being abducted and it causes a major disturbance around the neighborhood. With their high fees and prices you'd think they could build a wall to isolate some of their pool noise and they also play music 24/7 outside....I am also filing a city ordinance complaint as well so hopefully they get a notice to stfu.

Amanda Bynes

This gym is great for the younger 20 something crowd as everyone who works there is the same age. Beware of the shady sales tactics of signing you up for things you didn't agree to and clauses that favor the gym and not you. Everyone works on commission and the young sales team is taught to mislead you and fabricate so they get paid at your expense. Classes are in the middle of the day making it hard to get to if you work and limited in the evening. Trainers are not available in the morning. Watch out with the personal trainers because you cannot purchase a training session everything has to be purchased in bulk with a three month minimum and at least a session a week. Unable to find a bathroom to bring my 4 year old son into so I am unable to bring him. The gym is clean meaning no clutter on the floor. They have an almost non-existent area for floor exercises. Lifebucks they sell you are worthless and when you go and use them the gym bate and switches them on you. When it comes down to it, this is an overpriced gym compared to the competition in the area. The gym is never cleaned and they don't play any music so if you forget your headphones you exercise in silence. The good is free towels, courts, and pools while some of the other gyms in the area do not have this.

Its comical how bad some women make themselves look when they allow their emotions to get the better of them. This is especially true when that emotion is jealousy. A perfect example occurred the other day when my friends and I took a class at the Scottsdale location led by "Babette". There was a class memeber present who is tall, about 120lbs: with the slim-hipped long-legged hourglass figure we all wish we had, whether we will admit it or not. This member is obviously confident and above average in her fitness level. It quickly became obvious that the frankly overweight Babette was threatened by her when Babette actually began to take thinly-disguised, cheap verbal potshots at this member, for the entire class to hear! Babette then selected another member, another overweight woman with an only average level of competency, and a frankly ghastly bodyshape, and began to praise her up effusively, later instructing the class to "thank her". Its no secret that mediocre women like Babette will often butter up other mediocre women in an effort to put down one who outclasses her. We see some women play this little headgame everywhere, but we shouldn't have to witness in a club of Lifetime's calibre. Look, I have a body similar to Babette's. I am short, overweight and no diet or exercise is ever going to give me a body like the woman Babette was insulting. But I never feel the need to be nasty to others, especially in the cowardly way, over a microphone and in front of a group. Hopefully, Babette will learn that this kind of thing only makes HERSELF look bad.

Jason Foster

We are members, and have been since a month after the club opened, and we like LifeTime a lot. Also, it is close to our house, so it is convenient. I have changed my review from 3 to 4 stars. Originally, I gave it 3 stars due to more limited Family Swim hours compared to the YMCA, but for the past 2 years they have stepped things up. You can now swim with children every day until 8pm, even on Sundays. Also, the summer slide hours now end at 7PM instead of ending previously at 6. We were YMCA members before Lifetime, and it is much more reasonably priced for a family of four like us. We were burned a few times at Lifetime where we went and the kids couldn't swim, but as I said for about the past two years they have simplified the family swim hours and now it is much better. Thanks for listening to feedback, Lifetime, you guys definitely rock and our family of four gets a lot out of our membership!

Andrew Hay

The InBody App printer never has ink. For the amount the gym costs you think they would get ink after a month of it being down.

This has become a home away from home for our family. The kids love the kids club and pool, and my husband and I love the cafe, family friendliness, pools and pretty much everything else. We don't use the weight training equipment very often since were mostly using treadmills, bikes or the pool for triathlon training, but we go about 5 days a week and even when it's busy it's never TOO busy. There is always a lane to swim in, which is seriously impressive. Yes, there are a lot of really fit people here, but no one has been intimidating, rude or stuck up like at other gyms. There are always families and kids around, which is just such a breath of fresh air since we have two little ones. Also, the cafe is awesome. Great food. Yes it's pricy but it's worth it.

Troy Parlin

I live 3 miles down the road and decided to give Lifetime a try. I asked the front desk if I could look around the facility. A very rude and arrogant receptionist said they would need my mailing address, email and phone number and a consult with a personal trainer before looking around. Basically they wanted an hour of my time to simply walk through and see their set up. I have trained for almost 30 yrs now and have held probably 50 gym memperships in 10 states. Life time fitness was by far the worst first impression I have ever experienced and after reading several other reviews on here I definitely made the right decision in looking elsewhere. I can completely understand wanting to make sure members are protected from guests strolling through the facility and a chaperone would be completely appropriate. However it is highly unlikely the guest checking in needs to pass on all contact information because youre going to do a back ground check. Youre wanting that info to harrass potential members with solicitation after they leave. To say its for protection of the members is far fetched.

Nathan Sellier

Absolutely watch your bank account!!! Thieves is what lifetime is ... I have followed all of their rules for cancellation and am still owed over $500.. Getting a lawyer involved next... terrible people... always the corporate run around ... took my credit card information and used it for someone else's account!!.. basically stealing from me!.. couldn't get a stop to it for over three months!.. this was not the first time either. If I were to calculate the amount of my money they have tied up of mine in just the last 12 months it's almost $2000..

Mike Bennett

I was a very happy member here and hate doing this but you deserve every bit of it! Great facility but they have no morals or ethics. I moved in December and the guy up front said I was all set and if they needed anything else from me they would call. 4 months later I find out I was getting billed 160 a month this whole time and they would not refund me even seeing that I haven't set foot in that place since December. Then they would not cancel it until I signed a document. So July 27th I flew back from Houston to this place just to sign on the dotted line!!! Crooks, thrives and disrespectful punks! I will tell everyone I can about this ridiculous experience! Great facility but awful awful management and ethics! This is how you get treated once you are on the way out people. Edit: Excellent generic response with a nice stab at me as well! You guys are pathetic and your reputation keeps growing! I see you promote hiring pedofiles now too! People read the news and see they had an employee taking naked pictures of a 4 year old. Excellent facility here folks!! Spread the word of this management here they are amazing!!!

Hannah Diaz

I love Lifetime. I’ve been a member for over a year. I recently started Tennis there and everyone has been welcoming and friendly. Jae (one of the tennis pros) has been a phenomenal teacher. The yoga classes are fantastic too. The facilities are clean and always well maintained.

Nvs P

Child center is closed half of the day from 12-4 and account managers are not very friendly. I wonder why they don’t have more sitters instead of 7 account managers sitting around all day long

Lina Santos

Great gym, it’s definitely more then just your typical gym. Good employees & spotlessly clean building top to bottom. The outdoor pool is nice & indoor isn’t bad. Great programs for kids as well.

Robert Drake

This gym will nickle and dime you with any type of change. It takes two billing cycles for anything to take place, including membership cancellation. Hello, we live in the 21st century, the digital age. Never been impressed.

Steve M

rude employees, Scammers they charge you without notifying you....

Daniel Craft

Stephen Hayes

Great first impression. Went at 5:15 PM on a Monday. It was very crowded (as expected) but accommodated the crowd well. Friendly staff and state of the art facilities.

Jeff Jackson

Amazing! Friendly, fun, and a great for an active family.

Anita Telle

when i went to cancel my account, it was suggested that I might want to put it on "A 6 month hold", just in case I would want to start up again after my travels. I agreed. However, after 6 months I went in and told them I had decided to cancel, I was told that in my contract it stated I had to give them 30 day notification, so they would charge my account $220. Moral of the story: read the contract inside out, understand that they will NOT verbally tell you this. Don't ever get talked into being put "on hold" . Super disappointed.

Thomas George

Busy and not at all worth the money.

Robert Eggert

Check your monthly payment!!! Several years ago we joined Lifetime and were promised if we continued our membership, the price would never go up. After switching it from "hold" to "active" for the summer, a sales rep promised us a price close to what we've paid each of the previous summers, but upon checking our credit card, that was not the case. I went in and complained, and he said the paperwork was messed up, and promised a refund. That never happened. Will take my fitness dollars elsewhere.

M I

Every time I order drinks from the cafe wait time is about 40 minutes then I have to remind of myself and seems like staff always forgot about my drinks. Would be great to have my protein shake ready sooner after I complete great workout.

Nina D.

The Stars Earned are for the staff, Very friendly and helpful. The stars LOST are for the actual facility. Joined this gym in 2016 and loved it. Spent 6 days out of the week using the weight area and resistance machines. I like to jump rope and once upon a time there was a nice area set aside where I could stretch and jump rope without being in anybody's way. Last summer there was a remodel and the gym lost a majority of it's appeal. Big jungle gym taking up a third of the gym was installed where group classes are held during the busiest times of the day. I'm not opposed to classes however I pay a membership fee just like every other member and would love some open area to jump and stretch without being in the walkway. Many machines that pre remodel were always used post remodel have dissapeared. The machines remaining have been squished into what was the stretching area. Mirrors have been covered )by machines or more equipment that are rarely used) which are very helpful for form when Lifting which I assume is why gyms have them installed in the first place. If management would take 10 minutes to observe the gym on a busy day they would see that there is a large area of the gym which is unused and a small area which has the majority of members squished in trying to use weights and machines. The ratio is way off. I like the people here which is why I keep my membership. Husband wants to cancel and find a gym that takes in mind the paying community as a whole. The only good thing about the remodel is the added squat racks. Bravo for that.

Vinit Lenka

Worst club. They are ready to sign you on day 1. But if you have to cancel your services then you have to pay 1 month fees. If I am giving my notice before my bill generation, then why I need to pay for 1 month. This is a significant amount and they should consider that

Parthiban Karunanithi

Devin Wilson

Nice gym, but for $110 a month, the wifi should work more than once a week. Also, I have been here 3 months and they still have not replaced the 100 dumbbells.

Jay Ferrante

Molly Wert

Swim team and coach are so nice about giving lap swimmers lanes!!! GO LIFE SWIM TEAM!!!

Eric Benham

Nice, well maintained club with updated equipment and modern amenities.

Mike Pedersen

Great club, lots of machines, and very fit people. I find it motivating every time I go there to do my workout. Beautiful outdoor pool. As with most higher-end clubs, the food is not cheap, but it's reasonable (and convenient). If you are just starting to workout out, this club might be a little intimidating, as the majority of people working out are in quite good shape.

Jonathan Cao

Its a great place to fit you could loose a lot of weight there is you are on a diet. There are trainers. They have outdoor swimming pools and they have bigger restrooms.

Lena Webb

I been going over a year jammie is awesome Stacy great teacher good place to work out

Kristen M

They make you jump through hoops to cancel your membership. Skip this gym!

Shauna Perko

This has been a very disappointing gym experience. I choose this over other athletic clubs because of their claim that they are child friendly. It is 81 degrees and beautiful outside, however the outdoor pool is closed for children. Even if I am in the pool with my child. The interesting part is we even called to make sure the outside pool was open for everyone and we were told yes. How can you have a pool outside in Phoenix, and not have it open for everyone when it is warm outside? And it will be unavailable for my children to use until April? I would have NEVER joined if this club and spent as much as we did if I knew my children could not use the outside pool. The pool is available for adults and children over 12. This was never discussed and only mentioned that if there was no lifeguard you must be in the pool with your children. Very disappointed and feel I was misled and was ripped off.

awsume gym vary clean nice highly recomended

One of my favorite classes at Lifetime is TCX. Babette is one of the best instructors ever! She gives detailed instruction and really pushes you hard on cardio. It is a super fun class! Babette is so positive and encouraging. I highly recommend any class that Babette teaches.

Tony Breeden

GREAT gym. It is a very rare occasion that I ever have to wait for any equipment. The MMA conditioning classes are a great way to kick-start any fitness plan. The rock wall is another exciting way to get in shape as well. Overall, great variety of things to do to get in shape!

Milan Mehra

Awesome swim team!

Ashley Muller

Our experience has been wonderful with Lifetime. We just moved to Colorado Springs from Manhattan Beach, CA. Lifetime exceeds our expectations and reminds us of the Equinox back at home for a much more affordable price. The classes are incredible and the equipment is pristine. I’m obsessed with every class Andrea Atz teaches and follow her religiously. We signed up with Tyler Hoerner. There was absolutely no pressure and he’s very relaxed. I still love working with him. He always takes care of us when we need something and responds to emails extremely fast. If you’re looking to sign up or even just inquire, ask to work with Tyler. He will go above and beyond to make your experience wonderful. And even better, he will ALWAYS say hi when he sees you in the club. I’m excited for summer when we can use the pool!!!

hiphopinsomnia

The gym is filthy. Pubes all over the men's shower. The towel's are beyond gross! For some reason they have the music so loud that you can't even listen to music with noise cancelling headphones. The music is so loud that I can't even enjoy my work out!

all southwest

Love this place nice and clean

Penny Philley

Love the gym itself, but not the employees.

The Love Stylist

Loved it!!! but called before i came and was told they were having open house got there was treated as if i was lying or not wanted, felt very uncomfortable. Wanted to leave but stayed due to my kids i worked out. Facility its very clean, but i would just say front desk could more welcoming because that's what could determine if anyone wants too continue business First impression is everything.......

Marissa Goldberg

I wish I could give zero stars. This place is all about the money and they do not care about your personal wellness. You spend $70/month minimum for them to just push more things for you to buy. I fell for one of the tests they pushed on me and I ended up paying $250 for a nutritionist to tell me to eat more vegetables. Complete bullshit. I've been trying to cancel my membership since January. They finally actually put through the cancellation today but tell me that I have to pay for the next 30 days. All because they have no record of me trying to get it cancelled for the last month and half. So due to THEIR mistake, I've been scammed out of another $70. The whole time they were acting like they were doing me some great privilege for actually putting through my cancellation. The people I've been dealing with have been completely rude. Other issues: 1. It is not a comfortable place for women. Men have made extremely sexist, derogatory remarks to me and made me extremely uncomfortable to even be there. 2. They got rid of the only good masseuse at the spa 3. The food at the cafe is overpriced and disgusting 4. The classes are at inconvenient times and are cancelled all the time 5. Classes that show up on the app sometimes don't actually happened. I drove all the way out there for one and no one knew it was even supposed to be going on. 6. You feel like your on car sales lot the entire time you are there because they are always trying to sell you something. Even if you are part of a paid class or service, there is always something else. I tried to make it work for 8 months. I will not be scammed any longer. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Shawn Burgess

This review is not a reflection of the gym. My review is how Lifetime provides support on billing issues and refunds. After a second instance of a frustrating occurrence of sorting out billing for personal training in the period of two months I decided it was worth my time to write a public review. After a month of submitting a request to my personal trainer I still have not heard back from Jason or Chris after calling and leaving multiple messages with a promise each time they would return my call.

Diana Domokos

Read the negative reviews before signing up!It's all true.My membership was put on hold and Robert Decker assured me it will stay like that until i reactivate it which is 10 dollar a month.Otherwise our monthly dues are well over 200$/month. Out of nowhere they started charging the full monthly fees without reactivation. I found out later when Patrick Egan sent me the papers i signed it's embedded they will charge the full amount after 6 months if not renewed. Patrick Erickson who is "member relations"contacted me and rudly told me "oh..you signed the papers" They harrased me with different amounts to pay so my membership would stay active even though i told them every time i want to cancel. No response for my cancellation requests.None..they kept ignoring it. I finally visited the gym and payed the full membership fees so i can cancel the membership. Learn from others mistake and stay far away from this gym. Unprofessional, rude and horrible management ethics.

Michelle Thompson

Great facilities, fun challenging classes, food in cafe yummy....a full experience

Joseph Reid

This gym is amazing. Price is absolutely worth it. For people complaining about the price: Skip eating out one night a month and you could pay for this place instead of LA fitness...

Samantha Clayton

My child attended Spring Break camp there a few weeks ago. He witnessed an little boy pull on another little boy's privates in the boys locker room while they were changing from swimming. He also said the boy slapped the other kid's bottom. I asked him what the counselor did, and my child said the counselor removed him from the group and tried to take him to the childcare office, but the boy ran away. My child said the boy did return to camp after sitting in the office with the Director for lunch and hit and slapped more children that afternoon. I have confirmed this with the staff. My child has also seen this child in the child center before hitting, biting and hurting other children. I am very concerned that the safety of the children there, is not be attended to effectly by the person in charge. All the staff are discouraged that the new leadership is not doing any thing to fix the problems going on in the department. I have yet to get a satifactory answer myself.

Martha Peralta

I have been a loyal member since 2011. Cancelled for a few months in 2012 and came back in 2013. With this being said I have noticed how they raise the membership costs without saying that they are going to do so. And for no reason. Ever since they "remodeled" during the summer all of the equipment has been squeezed together. Half of the equipment is not even there anymore. And good luck trying to get a full work out in. What ever equipment is left is always busy with people who do nothing but text and take more than one machine at the time. Called today to inquire as to why my membership went up again and to set up a cancellation and was told I needed to come in to do the cancellation. Worse customer service I have ever experienced. And why is it that it is passed 9:00 AM and there was nobody there available to explain why the membership went up? Time to cancel and go somewhere else.

Bret Nelson

WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY, I just called and spoke with a Member specialist about becoming a Member. This person explained the cost and when I explained that I am currently at Mountain Side Fitness and wanted to know what there current promotions where I was told close to $200 a month and I stated that seems a little steep....This person had only one thing to say Ok thank you LOL, I was not provided any Enticement or I might be able to do this for you....JUST THANK YOU NOT A CARE IN THE WORLD AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE....

Chad Simmons

I have 3 children under the age of 11 and always feel good about the amount of safety and supervision that the team of lifeguards provide while we are at the pool. Their professionalism is top notch. Even today as I questioned a policy one of the lifeguards, Carrie, kept her cool and responded appropriately. She, her supervisor and the other life guards should be commended for a job well done. Thank you!

Megan Cheyne

This place will nickel and dime you any way they can. Considering we live in the digital age, it’s kind of funny that they can start your membership and take your money immediately but the second that you need to cancel it takes months. Definitely will NOT be returning to lifetime/recommending lifetime to anyone.

Matthew Vicinanzo

Facilities are new and great... Otherwise, not user friendly.....impossible to get customer service......kept charging me for months AFTER we finally cancelled. Had to threaten with legal action if they didn't stop billing us. Just a giant, glitzy machine. Stick with the YMCA.....save yourself some money. Or, if you want to spend that much money, join a country club.

Chris G

Don is a great manager. My friend was visiting from out of town and he helped us with a week pass. He didn't have to do that, but went over and above to make our experience amazing!

Justin Tucker

Been going here for many years and will continue to do so if the budget holds. This isn't the VillaSpa down the street. Most of the people who want to go here want to go here to really get a good workout in and that's how they act. That said, this facility is a great place to go to lose those pounds or get into shape. Unlike other gyms, there is no cost to join most group fitness classes and the diversity of potential workouts here go a long way to getting real results. I lost 30 lbs this past year thanks to this and will continue to go.

David S

Have you ever been to a Costco on Saturday afternoon; parking here from 4 to 7 is like that. People will stalk you for your spot. As a result it is extremely crowded in this location. I am used to people working out in pairs, but the members here treat it more like a social gathering and will bunch in 4 or 5 people, blocking off equipment and benches, while doing no actually workout activity. The Springs either needs to open a new location to thin the herd or maybe recapture some of that tennis court area for another workout location. To pile on the member woes, every time I visited this location I saw multiple people comically hoarding barbells, ez bars and other assorted objects. Another annoyance is the number of benches that are just the straight back seats. Please switch these out with the convertible ones so that I don't have to sit and weight 10 minutes for a flat bench. Beyond that, the front desk staff is friendly and the life cafe team were fine. The facility was nice and clean. Staff were regularly servicing the locker room.

Rachel A

Guess who will NOT be getting paid by moi? You guess it...Life Time Fitness. Here's the thing...people's lives change. They move, they get busier, stuff happens, contracts with buried statements rooted in corporate greed become irrelevant. Canceling gym membership shouldn't be a huge inconvenience. You shouldn't have to battle 280 traffic to cancel payments for something you no longer use. It's just wrong to do that to people. So when my debit card expired (after I had already asked to cancel my membership) ...I just figured why should I give them access to charge me. If they want to be greedy...I'll make it harder for them to be greedy. Might take a hit on my credit report. But I don't really give a rat's **** They can have my final payment when they accept a signed faxed over cancelation notice. Until then, they can go **** themselves. Especially you Wes. ESPECIALLY YOU! You are an absolute moron. Seriously? In your training, where did they teach you that arguing with customers makes great business sense? You should be fired for being such a jerk. Not one penny from me Life Time...until you stop your greedy ways and fire Wes.
