A very well kept links course that has well placed bunkers, multilevel greens and challenging fescue if you don't hit your target - 71 par, 6850 from the back (orange) tees.

Through the Harvest Hosts program we stayed overnight with our trailer. The view was so peaceful and beautiful. Our only regret was that we were not able to stop inside for a drink or food because of the time. Thank you for being a Harvest Host! We would definitely stay again!

We recently hosted a surprise birthday party for my mom for about 100 guests. The facility is beautiful and the decks are a extra nice feature. Everyone was raving about the food!! It was delicious!!! The staff at the event was all extremely helpful and the banquet manager we worked with to plan was so nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend Glen Erin to anyone looking for a venue!

Great mix of tight tree lined, and wide open holes. Light fescue surrounding fairway bunkers make for challenging tee shots. Greens are in good condition, with varying degrees of undulation. Overall, a fun and difficult course that is definitely worth the drive... You'll want to replay this one!

This is what affordable links-style golf is all about. Tough course, but manageable. Very cool layout, almost like two different courses between the back 9 and front 9, and the greens were in great shape when we played. The staff is extremely friendly, and the clubhouse is great; try the beer made specifically for the course. Will definitely make the trip from Chicago to play here again.

This course is in awesome shape. The greens are amazing and run true. If you play on a windy day, course management is key. I highly recommend Glen Erin if you love a great course with a challenge. P.S. Stay out of the fescue.

Best of Janesville. Five star for Janesville, not a five star course as it compares to other top shelf courses (as I'm sure some would argue) but by far the best Janesville has to offer. Great food, great service, great course.

Best golf course in Rock County. The course is well maintained and very playable regardless of skill level. It is a blend of an Irish highlands and a traditional woodland course. No water hazards, but lots of strategically placed sand. The short (5 foot) flags add to the fun. Staff friendly and accommodating. Suggest making tee time reservations. The restaurant has very good "bar food" and Friday fish fry.

Nice Parking... food not so much. Was abandoned by our server, drink order arrived late and was not the correct drinks that were ordered. Ordered fish fry, baked cod was "OK". Also ordered fried cod.. a 2 pc. order with the 2nd pc hard as a rock, it appeared to have been forgotten in the bottom of the fryer, thus way over cooked. Kitchen staff should have trashed the pc. rather serve it. Dinning area is very nosy, thus if you want to have a conversation, bring your cell phones so you can communicate.

Just played this course yesterday (8/16) and it is in amazing shape. Glen Erin is definitely a course that you can get into a lot of trouble quickly. The woods are dense and the fescue is thick, for me this lead to it being a ball eating course. The fairways and greens are really well set up, controlled shot placement will definitely be a benefit since the topography and hard soil led to hard bounces and long rolls on the fairway and greens. My only real complaint (other than having lost 10 or so balls to the fescue) is that the pins are comically short so they will throw off your perspective in regards to how far you are off the green.

We ate at the Cursing Stone Pub at Glen Erin for the first time and absolutely everything was wonderful! We had a table for 9 and the service was excellent!! Our waitress/bartender was super attentive and so understanding with all of our dietary and children's requests! She's been there a long time and it shows! She has great pride in her work! The food was fantastic, cheers to the kitchen staff!!! The Irish nachos were so yummy, the loaded burger was lipsmackin' good and the pub chips were the best we've ever had!!! And that's not mentioning all the other satisfied bellies at the table. Was very surprised it wasn't more busy with this type of service and food. We were the only customers in the restaurant after 5pm. We will be back! Most likely on a Friday - we've heard their fish fry is excellent.

Overall they keep very good care of the course. It has been very windy each time I've played and I think that is due to the courses location and open surroundings. With the construction of the new banquet hall (which will be nice), some of the aesthetics are lost, but that will be fixed when construction is done. The price is great for what you get, and play is never too slow.

I was at Glen Erin for a Friday night fish fry. They have an all you can eat fried cod dinner for $10.99 that comes with a potato and coleslaw. The initial dinner comes with two friend fillets, and I had a third, and that was all I could eat. The fish was crisp and not over battered. The coleslaw was nice, a bit bland but not overdressed. Good value and prompt service. Including a beer, I escaped the evening for less than $20, tip inclusive.
