Beautiful course. Club house is okay.

Very well kept golf course. Greens were very clean. Nice fairways and holes. Wish they were stricter on golf course etiquette rules though. Had to play pass two groups of kids who thought it was a basketball court and one didn't even have his own set of clubs.

2 August 2019 - My wife and I asked 2 other couples to meet us here to try the food. The baked and fried fish were pretty good. The Coleslaw was excellent. Five of us had hashbrowns and all of us were very unhappy with those as they were burned so as they could hardly be consumed. I had the French Onion Soup and found it disappointing. It had no cheese or croutons. It was essentially a good broth with a couple of onions. It was served with four basic soup crackers. But the fish, Coleslaw and baked potatoes were okay. The roads there leave a lot to be desired. Personally I felt bad for the servers as they don't prepare the meals and they appeared to be understaffed. Unfortunately based on our first and probably last meals here none of us would recommend the food here.

My girlfriend and I came down from Madison on a Saturday and enjoyed the course so much we came down the next day to play it again. With the exception of one spot on the fairway of the second hole which had some damage (possibly from the heavy rains this summer) the course was in excellent shape. It’s a fun, challenging course with tree-lined fairways, doglegs (with big trees guarding the corners so, unless you can go over the trees, you can’t just cut the corner and play it like a straight shot), uphill and downhill holes, water, plenty of sand bunkers, etc. The trees can make for some tricky shots if you miss the fairway, and you may need to punch it back out into the fairway, but the rough is cut pretty short and the trees are trimmed so you should be able to find your ball and hitting out of the rough isn’t tough. That makes the course forgiving enough that beginners can have a lot of fun, but better golfers will also be challenged because you’ll need to be accurate if you want to score well. The greens were in great shape with colored flags indicating if the flag is in the front (red), center (white) or back of the green (blue). There are 100, 150 and 200 yard makers in the fairways and there are posts at the 150 mark (posts at 100, 150 and 200 would be nice, but that's a minor complaint). There’s drinking water in a few spots on the course as well as bathrooms, and the drink cart came around several times. The tee boxes are flat enough that you can easily find a good spot to tee off from. Saturday, the course wasn’t dead, but it also wasn’t so congested that we were waiting a lot, and we didn’t have groups behind us really pushing the pace and waiting on us either. We were able to relax and golf at our pace and enjoy the entire round (which took a little less than 4 hours). Sunday, we golfed during the Packer game so we practically had the place to ourselves which was awesome. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get cell service out there (Verizon) so I couldn’t use my app for scoring and getting distances. They don’t have a course book with distances to carry bunkers, water, etc. so range finder would be really helpful on this course. For reference, a few of our favorite courses right now are Pleasant View, Odana and Prairie Woods. I think Evansville is similar in terms of difficulty, but probably more forgiving in terms of finding your ball on errant shots. Overall, I thought the course was in great shape, really fun, the staff was friendly and it was a really enjoyable weekend of golf. We're looking forward to going back.

I really don't even know where to begin. Drove up from Rockford Illinois because of some of the reviews. I really wish people would leave true and honest reviews or I wouldn't of wasted our time. Maybe people who actually left the reviews do not travel a lot or golf on a regular basis. Got here an hour early to warm up at the driving range do some chipping and putting the normal pre-golf routine. The driving range balls were just golf balls that were found and in extremely terrible shape. Driving range was down away from the clubhouse and when we got down there there were actually pick up trucks backed up to the driving range like as if you're grilling out in the back of your own yard. Driving range was not mowed the teeing area was terrible. Basically take an open field that hasn't been mowed in a week and you have your driving range. On to the putting green, or what they call a putting green. It was extremely small had three holes and It is built on a slant. So picture a putting green about the size of a standard kitchen and built on the side of a hill. The first hole is an extreme dog leg left. The first Drive is an iron and your second shot is longer than your first shot. They have plenty of room they need to cut down some of the trees to the left so it's not such a severe dog leg so you can cut the corner and put bunkers or trees on the right-hand side instead. The second hole is a short par five where you were actually heading up hill and across the entrance driveway. Yes you have to go across the entrance driveway so you need to constantly be watching for cars in the middle of the fairway. The fairways were not mowed and the rough was somewhat thick. The rough would've been fine if they would've mowed the fairways. We went on Monday, which was Memorial Day, and it looks like they mowed on Thursday (possibly) and it hadn't been groomed since. I will give Credit to the sand traps and the fairway bunkers. The sand was real and it was consistent. It was the only nice thing about this course. The play was so slow and that's being generous. An hour and twenty minutes later we are in the middle of the third Fairway. It would've been in easley a three hour plus round for nine holes. Needless to say we quit after the third hole. I guess if you're desperate or you're a beginner and you're looking for something cheap this will work. If you're somebody who golfs on a regular basis and expecting real golf maintenance and grooming pick a different course.
