REVIEWS OF The Home Course IN Washington

For being the "home of golf in the NW" the course is not in very good condition. People are friendly and the grill is good.

Kenny McKillip

Great conditions for the time of year

Cody Hedin

They have kids driving golf carts, not playing golf. While they refused to let my dad and me golf with no proper reason.

John Bang

Best course for the price

Lucent X

Wonderful course, great and kind staff, and overall nice experience!

Rcb

Great Place

James Blumberg

Great practice tee with mostly new balls...

joan diane Bixby

I walked a trail next to the golf course's ugly fence

Kyle Morean

Awesome course. Great shape

Brandon Dornan

The Home course is definitely one of the best and my favorite in Thurston county. It's reasonable for a top end golf course! All the holes have their own character. Deep bunkers, elevation changes. And open fairways make it feel like you're almost on a links course in Ireland. Like a Open championship. It's forgiving off the tee on most holes but you must have a decent short game to get up down. Definitely a great course to bring your buddies for little major course! Absolutely the best course for long hitters or players who just want to tee high and let it fly!!

Brian Bennett

The Course was in great shape after the first couple weeks of the drizzly season. Greens were fast and true. Whoever placed the pins today was a little sadistic, but easy isn't why we drove down to play there.

Mark Stephenson

I love this course everytime I play.

Max Sullivan

Jeremy Knowlton

Love this course. I play it at least 10 times a year and it doesn't get old.

Steve Crews

The greens were the slowest and most unmanicured I have ever played. Shaggy and 2 toned grass. Seedy. Home Course USED to be known for nice greens. Pitiful. Fairways were nice, sand traps were hard and not drug, several days after any rain. Hawks Prairie courses have A Plus greens for way less price. Twice as fast and true. Felt ripped off at 45 bucks at the Home Course ... much better courses like Eagle's Pride and Riverside for half the price!

Glen Neal

It was great. The first time in 6 years that I have played there.

James Sullivan

Cliff Nahm

Great course, very challenging.

paul ishii

The course is wonderful. Well laid out and the check in staff were so very friendly and informative. Driving rangeb was excellent. Course was designed well for walking. Be careful of the tall grass on the sides of the fairways...you can get in trouble fast. Course is well drained and challenges your game. Love the greens...very pure lines. I will go again for sure.

Nathan Clark

Oh Yeah !!

Tom Hammack

Strong value play.

David Lorengo

Great layout, always in top condition, grass tees on the driving range, large practice and warm up area. Now that the restaurant is open, a great place for a beer after your round.

Brad Wake

Great course and well maintained. If you're deciding between this one and Hawks Prairie then chose this one. Not worth the money of frustration to put your self through that. The home course has better tracks, is better maintained, and doesn't line the course with as many houses (there are houses though).

Melvin Schnorr

Course was in good condition. It's fair but challenging for an amateur golfer. Many tee boxes to choose from

Shamus Geary

Great experience. Very challenging bunker play as well.

Lester Glorioso

Benjamin Fork

Winter rates and play are excellent right now! I went last summer and the price was outrageous for the super dry conditions. I hope this coming summer proves better.

David Van Ness

Demanding but playable course.

Steve M

Very nice course, links style, long and challenging when needed, I can't wait to do it again

Collin Lawson

fun and pretty

Tim Mofo

Want a challenge, play the home course from the blues or black and be humbled. Course is in great shape and the greens are rolling smooth and fast!

Damion Truman

It s cool

Christopher Brannan

Friendly staff, good driving range, clean area, good prices

Boomer McCallum

Great course

Jake Reppert

Excellent course, and an awesome twilight rate of $44 walking. Carts are a couple bucks more than they need to be though. I think most courses Ive played charge 12-15. Not sure Ive ever payed 16. If thats the worst I can mention, there really isnt a problem here. The course is in good condition. Looks like theyve laid a lot of new sod in places and it hasn't all taken root very well, but it's not terrible. The greens are fast and smooth, and very tough. A lot of undulation that can make you 3 putt very easily. There are some nasty bunkers that can ruin a hole quickly too. The course is no joke, but its a lot of fun. I live over an hour away, but I would play here a lot more if I was closer.

Steve Paul

I love the course, wish it was a little more affordable. $68 green fees plus a cart fee means I can only afford to play it twice a summer. I'm on a budget as I have a fixed income. I'm more of a $35 a round player so I can play 1-2 times per week.

paul jones

Great course, had lots of rain before we played, but took the water well and the greens were in great shape. Fun course to play.

Nathaniel Otto

The Home Course has such helpful and kind staff. The course is well-kept and challenging.

Herbert Neal

Nice place to go play God the greens is kept very nice

David May

One of my favorite courses in the Pacific Northwest. Very entertaining yet challenging layout. 5 sets of tee boxes for players of all skill levels. Beautiful views of the Puget Sound and WA greenery. Unfortunately no actual clubhouse - it's a single wide trailer - or restaurant for pre/post round libations. Regardless, it's definitely worth the drive down south in any weather conditions.

Chris Quimby

Very well maintained and very challenging. The people are very nice and accommodating. Was even better to shoot at 89. Definitely coming back

Nathan Pennington

Beautiful and wonderfully maintained

Victoria Chadek

Such a welcoming and up and coming restaurant

Larry Beaver

Had a blast

Randy Parr

Love the course, but our round took well over five hours. Way too slow!

Julia Mirate

Keith Decker

Top 3 course of area.

butch ross

Shain is the champ course was awesome

Jack McCullars

Underrated. A very enjoyable course with great management.

James Gandee

Excellent shape, fast greens, worth playing more often. Only negative is that Tee times are too close together.

Joseph Kryszczak

Great playing courses, nice grass, awesome environment.

Sean Lincicome

Been a member for a long time and enjoy this track every time I play it !!

byron moles

Great conditions. Great layout. A good day was had

Tatiana Meade

Stunning views. Fairways and greens top notch and so reasonably priced. So impressed, can't wait to go back.

Robert Dennis

Wasps swarming everywhere

Matthew Winningham

Beautiful course. Feels like a country club except for the modular buildings...like the pro shop. A cart is almost an absolute, but it is great to get in your steps too. Greens felt a bit slow. Nice and wide, maybe not the fairways, but an errant shot is still quite playable with the lack of trees. The rough can be rough as there are little pebbles in some places.

eugene jensen

Greens look like broccoli

Turbo AKA Russell

Great Place

Justin Anderson

Beautiful course. Well-priced. Average to sub-par amenities. Overall great experience, highly recommend.

Michael Durupt

Great links style course. Well maintained and a good overall deal.

John Conard

Great course for all skill levels

Drew Bessinger

Great course. Even in late February it was in solid shape. Fun layout.

Dustin

The tournament manager and course officials were extremely rude. We will not be playing this course again. They put us in front of a women's tourney 7 minutes before they teed off. We play at a fast pace, but we like to walk. At just about every turn the course manager or official was on us pressuring our every move. Every turn they would tell us to hurry up They were very rude and confrontational. We finished 18 in 3.5 hours. Pretty dang good for a foursome. I will not play here again .

Kyle Guzlas

My favorite course in Washington for many reasons. They just need a clubhouse and will be at 5 stars.

Heidi Simmons

The good: the course is great, nice range and practice facilities. The bad: I used to be able to play this course for $55-$70 depending on walking or not. This last weekend: $95 w/cart. I got dinged $10 for not having my GHIN card with me or having my PNGA member # memorized, but the worst was the 12% tax added. I know they don't have control over what the city of DuPont does with taxes, but it was a shock. Too bad, I probably wont be returning to one of my favorite tracks at that cost; just not worth that kind of money.

Scott Olson

Great Golf Course, fairways are forgiving, greens all though are a bit challenging, good luck

Cynthia Williams-Patnoe

Spectacular wedding venue! Taylar and her crew were amazing and really made the day seamless! I can’t say enough about the excellent food, coordination, and service. Thanks to Taylar, everything went off without a hitch! Best wedding day ever!!

Christopher Harper

Took a stunning redhead to dinner there tonight. Homerun! The food and view were top notch. We sat outside as the sun began to get low. The menu was simple, but well thought out. The chef delivered our food and checked on us twice. The cocktails were great. I'm pretty sure I'm getting lucky tonight.

Jae Chang

One of my favorite courses in WA. Definitely worth the drive. If you have the time, check out the Eagle's Pride as well. Really nicely kept course and challenging but fun place to play.

Karri Kuoppamaki

Like this course a lot. It's scenic, has something for everyone, is challenging enough while not overly punishing and it's well kept

Terrence Polen

Authentic links course. Relatively wide open fairways and large tricky greens. Plenty of sand. No clubhouse is a bit of a shame. Great course.

Roger Scott

Outstanding public links golf course.

Derek Grube

Great view and food

karen schumacher

Some great golf here.

M A

Once they get a real clubhouse it should be five stars for the Home of golf in Washington.

Bryan Baan

Loved it... Big fairways....

Dane Cisar

Great course, fantastic views, and fun but challenging golf

brian gibbons

Good layout and scenic in multiple holes. Quite a few blind shots, but overall a great experience. Staff was over the top great!

Stephen Martin

Great course.

Joshua Staggs

Great fish tacos!

Robert Lahn

I play this course every chance I get. It has a wide open feel with no homes or rows of trees lining the fairways. This is very dry course. We were allowed carts on the course in January.

gabriela rodriguez

Great service!

Tom Patterson

Great course and sweet twilight rates

Rebecca Brown

We recently hosted a golf tournament at The Home Course and everything was first class! Sean Howland was so great to our guests and even made sure they were directed to drive right up front to have each of their bags dropped off so they could be loaded onto their assigned carts. The greens were beautiful and all of the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Emily was amazing when dealing with all of our catering and everything tasted fabulous! The banquet room was set up beautifully and she was very attentive to all of my special requests for extra tables, music, a/v, etc. A big thank to The Home Course for a fantastic day and wonderful experience! You have an awesome team!

Michael Pennington

Loved it! Great winter course.. Not marked well enough for yardage, but that is the only negative.

michael slaughter

Always a top notch course. Lots of tees to be able to choose from. Typically very firm and fast during spring summer and fall. And even during the winter months, it's very playable and won't lose a ball due to plugging in the ground. Play this when you get the chance, its probably the most fair course in the area, hit a good shot you'll be rewarded hit a bad shot you still have a chance to get in with a par etc. Unless of course your completely off the map.

Damien Hendricks

One of my favorites! Wide open, long pretty, and never too busy. The pace of play is good and it is challenging. A great value in the Pacific Northwest.

Dan Greenlee

Love this course. Generally forgiving off the tee, but plenty of challenges. Beautiful views. Great practice facility as well. We play this course 3 or 4 times a year. Also love that it's on the Youth on Course program so kids can play for 5$ (during most times) which really helps families introduce the next generation.

Eric Visser

I'm sitting in the pavilion at The Home Course right now with a broken ankle because I'm an idiot and don't know how to exit a green side bunker properly. The people here have been awesome though! They have been very attentive, giving me an ice pack, a cup of coffee, turning the TV on for me (its early, the pavilion isnt technically even open yet), and setting me up comfortably as I wait for my ride. I am looking forward to coming back and using my raincheck once I'm all healed up . I appreciate the hospitality, Home Course! Eric V.

Sheridan Overson

Played for the first time here on Saturday and had an enjoyable day. Was very surprised with how dry, hard and fast the whole course was for just being the start of May. Made me wonder what it will be like during summer. Completely mishit drives were rolling along the fairways as far as good drives which made me laugh...that's how fast it was. Will definitely give it another go some time.

Justin Pritchett

Did not get a chance to play. After booking a tee time multiple days in advance and driving an hour to the course I was notified that are tee time was double booked and they would not honor our tee time.

Mark Ito

My FAVORITE course in the Seattle area...PERIOD! Challenging but fair. Scenic views and quiet.

Harry Grande

A great place to come play golf a big wide open challenging course come see us

Joshua Bates

Steve Haahr

Always a treat to play here.. Never disappointed

Peter SaL

For being on the spendy side. Course is not well kept.

John Owings

Fun course

Sean Parijs

Great shape. Great price. Blues play a bit lengthy but it's worth the fun. Great for all handicappers. Loved it more than chambers bay.

Jay Fields

Great course

Lando M

Great course. Plan to play slow club up 1, and enjoy.

david strickland

Need to fix pace of play on weekends

Tyler Roell

Great course, great service, but had a problem with a green employee because we let a couple two somes go through and he told us we were holding everybody up, which doesn't make sense. I've never been told something like that.. It was B.S.

Tony Hethcoat

Not to good I really didn't like it I won't ever go there again

Beth Reser

The home course is wonderful. Watch out world its gonna be #1 soon.

Samara Ingwerson

Pretty walk, come prepared for the hike back up the hill.

Nicholas Pike

Be sure to take time to visit the Grill House after your round. The structure was empty for so long that many don't know that it now serves a full menu. Everything on their menu is great.

Chris K

Went out to watch fireworks on July 4th. Kids enjoyed running around on the green. We'll have to go back and check out the restaurant.

Mr Splitshot

The home golf course is a must play golf course the staff was great the course was challeging but fair and in great shape .i hope to return again my foresome had a great time and paid for my dinner for taking them to THE HOME COURSE. I can't take all the credit for it.It was recommended to me By Anthony shipman the golf director at Chambers Bay.And my foresome played Chambers Bay as well another great place to play golf we found it to be the best test of our ability to play the game of golf the traditional links golf .trust me if you play there you will never forget it and you will always remember it.the best test of golf.it was awesome.staff is the best the try to help you in every way, from the golf shop ,the restaurant to the the driving range. The golf director Anthony Shipman who made our golf experience the best ever!!!

Cory Hench

Really nice course. Thats it. Pro shop has been in a trailer for years. A course of this calibur needs a club house...not a stuffy trailer.

Adam Coombes

Great course with some great views

Dad White

Great place to have a Party. Clean, wait staff was great.

simon lim

beautiful Links design golf course. good for beginners as well as the pros

K Wheaton

Excellent course we'll kept way to go

Joe Filoseta

Great layout and easy to walk course that recently got a restaurant and a turn shack window. Home of the WSGA, they will soon add a temporary club house to replace the trailer the pro shop has been in since the course opened several years ago. All tee boxes, fairways and greens are in great shape. Greens have a lot of movement but are fair. Funky approach road thru a development in Dupont, it is worth going to this course. WSGA members do get a small $ discount too.

Scott Henderson

The course was in great shape and, though very busy, the marshals kept folks moving right along.

Ryan Manning

Really fun track. Greens were a little slow the day we played, but they were very true. No shade and plenty of wind, but the views and the quality of the course will keep me coming back. Staff was friendly and helpful... Now to just stay out of all the traps!

Ryan Agnew

Great course, even with A TON of rain recently the course was in great shape. Friendly staff as well!

R L

This course is great! It's got a good setup that's both forgiving for non-pros but has its challenges for better players. Condition was good and it was an enjoyable course to walk. Maybe my only complaint is there is very little shade to be had anywhere on the course.

Taylor Smith

Great layout and conditions considering the time of yr.

Jimmie Williams

A beer cart that never arrived! No golf clothes and for an event , forget it... Never Ever in my life!

Raj LP

Great links style golf course. There is room off the tee but challenging to get close on approach. Pretty much always well conditioned.

Megan Hudson

Beautiful course. The staff however is a differen't story & ruined the entire experience for my husband & son. (on Father's Day!)

Jason Lee

This is my favorite public course in Western Washington, hands down. It would be my favorite in the entire state, but that title goes to Palouse Ridge in Pullman. For how fabulous of a course the Home Course is, the rates aren't too bad. If you take advantage of their twilight rate, expect to get a HUGE BARGAIN. Also, for how beautiful the course is, there were times where it felt like my group was the only one on the course (which was nice). The backdrops were incredible, so don't feel bad for stopping and taking a pic or two. The greens were in pristine condition and the fairways were the best I've seen this season. Plenty of different layouts, so expect to use every club in your bag. If I lived closer, The Home Course would be my everyday go to course.

Ross Hilden

Great spot for lunch on the patio And awesome course

Debbie Vassil

This is just a Beautiful and Peaceful place!

Jim Simmons

The course is in great shape. Not the nicest clubhouse but if you are just looking for a great course you will enjoy The Home Course. A value at $52 for non WSGA members.
