No crowds, course is in good condition. As usual for this time of year leaves are dropping. Greens were sanded recently so they are slow. Fun course for a reasonable cost.

Our initial visit to The Blue Heron Golf Course started off awkward, We had trouble with our "Golf Now" reservation. My credit card was billed, but upon our arrival, there "was no record of it" on the Blue Heron's computer system. We had our reservation print-out in hand. The staff called "Golf Now" who reported they had no awareness of our reservation. We missed our tee time by 30 minutes due to the staff haggling with "Golf Now." The Blue Heron eventually offered us a complimentary round. Their staff was kind to us because we were traveling from out of town and would have been very disappointed if we were turned away on a busy, sunny Saturday. We ultimately had a great time at the Blue Heron, with their very nice greens, natural setting and comfortable clubhouse. We look forward to visiting again! As for "Golf Now," I'm not so sure....

Nice local location for a summer's evening dinner but the food is not at the quality you would expect for what they charge.

Tee boxes covered in sand. rough was 4-5 inches high. This course might be better down the road. Cool little hidden away course. I will try it again , next year maybe.

Service was amazing and the food was spectacular! We were so shocked to see the restaurant so empty, with how good everything was it should have been packed for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I had the eggs Benedict, the homemade English Muffin was so good, thick slice of breakfast ham, egg cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was absolutely wonderful. We also had an omelet that was fantastic and our drinks, especially the bloody mary, was perfect. We highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. Cant wait to try dinner there.

The golf course is in need of maintenance. Fairways not cut in awhile. We lost balls on hits down the middle. Greens are bumpy and slow. The are few yardage markers on the fairways and even fewer ball wash stations at tee boxes. The gas powered carts ran rough. We had breakfast before our round and while the food was good, it was overpriced even for a golf course. $9 for breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich. The pace of play was good with uncrowded conditions. The new clubhouse was nice and customer service was good.

Matthew Kangas

Great golfing and great kitchen staff

Jeff Christian

These folks have finally done it right. Played the front nine, then went in for a brew with the fellas. Found our selves in another world not known to Carnation for quire some time. We had burgers and cocktails. Now the burger was impressive to say the least, huge and served with the best fries I ever ordered. One of my friends ordered the clams, put my fantastic burger to shame it did. literally drooled all over the place. Great place, great food, great people. Course is a little slow, but what do you want for the valley. The place is busy!

Max Sullivan

Bruce Connally

Golf course is in great shape, the food is the best in the valley and the people there go out of their way to make sure you're happy.

Haven't been on the course... Just the restaurant... Nice views of the course from the restaurant... Food was not impressive... Ordered veggie wraps... Not good. Service was terrible... Inattentive and took a really long time to check out bc they were not available for 30 min!! Gah! Food 3 Service 1 Decor & Ambiance 4 Cleanliness 3.5

If you are looking for a golf course that is not very crowded, this is it. The price for that is to seriously compromise on course quality and maintenance. Not bad for practice though.

Good condition, course is on the easier side

Lousy service, my prime rib was all fat, when we said something to the server he smiled and brought me a $100.00 bill. Then ignored us the remainder of the time. Horrible

A hidden gem...one of the best courses I've been to on the Eastside.

We love this place and want to share with friends. Know the staff by name and worth the 40 mile one way trip to get there. A lovely country drive we do monthly in all seasons. Husband loves the fish and chips. I like the rib eye steak or prime rib and salad. Sometimes it is just a selection of happy hour treats like lettuce wedge, coconut prawns, and pulled pork sliders with house made bourbon bbq sauce. The view is incredible. For years husband would not go there because he thought it would be too hoighty tight and expensive. But got to go for my birthday. He found out that it was so comfortable and he didn't have to dress up. And has very reasonable prices. Now it is his go to place to relax. This weekend Met my long lost cousin at a family gathering in eastern WA. Found they live in Issaquah. So, now the Blue Heron is our next Rendezvous for family to hang out. This place is a real gift for the community to treasure. You gotta come and refresh your spirit.

My party made a reservation through the phone, but when we got there they said there was no reservation. Once seated our waitress barely ever came to our table, and it wasn't even that busy. I ordered a plain Caesar salad, but when it came, the waitress told me it came with chicken on it, even though the menu said you can have it without. I told her I can't because I am vegetarian so she brought it back into the kitchen, displeased (even though it was her mistake). She brought it back out and it had small pieces of chicken hidden in it. To be honest the waitress was probably just horrible, but the restaurant seemed nice even though it had a small menu. We might never come here again.

The first words of every review are the most important. As a result, I wanted to be as careful as possible not to taint the kindness of the people who golf here, the friendly young gal who greeted me at the pro shop on the day I decided to try this place out or possibly the many people who "tried" to make this an option in the Seattle area for golf. However, I have to say the first word that came to mind after I started walking into the fairway of hole #1 was "skanky." As I was driving home, I told myself I would look up the definition of the word to make sure that by no means that it would be derogatory or degrading by any means. Merriam-Webster defines it as: 1 slang :repugnantly filthy or squalid AND 2 slang :of low or sleazy character It's definitely not the 2nd definition, but after I upload the photos I managed to take before walking off the course after 9, you might just agree it matches the definition. On this beautiful Sunday in late Sunday, I was greeted by 6 kind young men who let me "play through." They knew they would take a bit of time and gave me the chance to finish before I puked in disgust. I was helped by 2 other groups of kind folks who also let me play through and despite the 2-5 balls I would hit on each of the front 9 holes, I got it done in record time. Now, bear in mind, I like good courses. I used to be a member of Sahalee and I've learned over time, since golf takes up quite a bit of time, you should choose carefully. When I was inspired to play this past weekend, I had no idea why this course that was priced at $54 a round could be priced at $23. It seemed like a rare opportunity. There were most tee times in the $40's and $50's and I thought I was just lucky. However, all my golfing buddies along with me had never heard of this place. I now know why. Beyond fairways that remind me of the worst cut lawns in our area, the greens are basically well trimmed roughs posing as the end of the hole. Using your putter is a waste because the "green" has balls bouncing all the way to the hole. You might as well chip. There were many trenches around greens. There were blackberry bushes lining hole 9 for 300 yards. And there was the clubhouse that had an arrow that pointed to the left, but should have pointed upwards since the pro shop was on the 2nd floor. Either the owner(s) of this place don't care or they simply don't know what golf is. At all costs, if you care about golf, you might want to truly reconsider if you decide and "take a chance" on this place. However, with all this said, this is a PERFECT place for anyone who is wanting to literally "learn the game" or "practice with your 5 year olds" or even take 5 strokes for every shot. I might leave my putter at home though. And make sure you bring a ton of balls...then again, you might find a ton while playing the holes adjacent to the driving range. Speaking of, the range might be the best thing next to the kind people playing and working here. It's off the grass (from what I saw). However, driving 30 minutes in from downtown Issaquah isn't worth it, in my mind. Sorry folks, but for the sake of your employees and the future people who might "take a chance:" Start maintaining this course or take it off the list of golf courses in Seattle. Seriously.

Great place! Love playing there. It's its own little oasis.

Rex Clark

Locally owned public course. Fun to play but course maintenance is an issue here.

The improvements were impressive!!

Kuba Zakrzewicz

This golf course is absolutely fantastic. Been coming here since I was little, and we love the golf course. Played 18 holes, and although the golf carts had a harder time starting up, they fared well in the end. The holes are a lot of fun, and have a rather challenging layout as well. Overall, I recommend 100%.

Four of us went to the Blue Heron Bar and Grill for the first time on Saturday - located on the Blue Heron Golf Course. The food is just outstanding! We ordered the Cuban Sandwich, Rueben Sandwich, Garden Burger and the Asian Chicken Salad. My friend ordered the salad and mentioned several times that it was the best salad she ever had. The Rueben was made with marbled rye and the corned beef was lean and delicious. The garden burger was excellent and the Cuban sandwich was unique and also delicious. The girls also ordered spiced cider which was a real treat. We are very excited to have such a good restaurant in Carnation just minutes from our home.

Price is right, weather perfect today, great locations and fun cours

THE GOOD: 1. Very pretty, peaceful place with Snoqualmie River running alongside and lots of trees, shrubs and wetlands, no houses, no freeways. Heard and saw lots of birds. 2. Laid back, not rushed. Of course, we were playing on Tuesday early afternoon, so not the busiest time to play. 3. New clubhouse with good food service, bathrooms, bar, pro shop, etc. 4. Flat, very walkable. My fitness app said I had walked 4.6 miles after playing 18 holes. 5. Not a lot of bunkers! THE NOT SO GOOD: 1. The course is not well-maintained. There were bare spots. The greens were bumpy. Some fairways were not mowed, so even if you hit a perfect shot in the "fairway," you were hitting out of the equivalent of rough. The course is situated in the bend of a river and is low-lying so tends to be on the wet side. We've had a very wet winter and spring in Western Washington, so I'm guessing they've been unable to mow some areas because the ground is too soft and wet. NEITHER HERE NOR THERE: The course is short, so the course rating and slope are not high, but it was more difficult than we initially thought. The fairways visually look wide open, but then you notice that often only a fairly narrow portion of the fairway has been mowed. The rough is not so much long as extremely thick. We found it very difficult to hit out of the rough. The greens can be unpredictable.

Jon Fink

Nice course, decent lay out. Most holes have a feeling brave option or a play it safe. Do I try to drive the par 4 at 260 yards or play to 100 yards and have an easy chip? Do I cut the corner on hole 1 or play a long iron to the middle of the fairway? I'd like to play there again, but live somewhat far away.

Wasn't overly crowded. Manicured greens. Friendly Marshall. Great option for the price.

Fairly new ownership has improved this restaurant immensely. The food was wonderful and the wait staff was delightful. I do not golf, but a relative who does states that the course is slowly improving as well.

Please pick up (rake) dead cut grass from shoulders of fairways. It's very difficult to locate golf balls after hitting in the rough. I lost 3 golf balls where I almost NEVER lose golf balls when playing.

My wife and I had a Mother's Day brunch May 8th 2016. Our reservations were for 1:30 we arrived early and were seated immediately. Very nice atmosphere with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and golf course. There was a variety off menu items available. Executive chef Marc Chitwood was outstanding with his planning and preparation. This is a must place to try if your in the Carnation, WA area!!!

Rick M

Hoping an old friend was to be reborn, alas even with a great new clubhouse it is going downhill again. I know we had a very hot dry summerl, but couldnt u spare water for the greens. They were all cracked from the heat, and at least 30 percent of toatal greens surface area were nothing but DIRT !

Poor condition even for the season.

My wife and I took a chance that this place would be what some friends of ours told us it was and turns out it was everything that they said it was I was totally pleased with the service extremely pleased with the food and the atmosphere was amazing I highly recommend it

Stephane Bennour

Worst experience ever. Expensive $42 compared to others in the area. Green in bad shape. People practicing on the green I was playing... seriously?! I've quit on 5th hole! Stay away from there.

Brad Kamcheff

Good well kept course

John Roman Quiles

Good special for golf on golf now. Good prices on pub food and beer. It is a long course however so be ready for long day. Good place to play, though. Decently kept and quiet with good customer service.

Lana Mc Daniel

Great wait staff. Bartender Mike is awesome

Lee Alexander

Good burger and fries as well! Love the Blue Herron. Love to sit on the deck and watch the geese and peaceful setting in the late afternoon sun.

Thomas McGahuey

Expensive food. Not that great. Didn't golf so can't contribute towards that

Dan Stevenson

New ownership breathed new life! Just played today and greens are 8/10. Just a few patchy spots, but way better than during the bad years. Restaurant is getting remodeled (again), but the burger I had last year under the new management was spectacular. Bring mosquito spray in the summer. One of the true bargains in Seattle golf. Very flat and easier than most courses.

Ian Crew

Kinda in need of help right now. Course is super dry and greens are really bad!

Bret Balog

Hey nice.

Holly Roberts

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, view of golf course.

Jeremy allen

Great course even better food

Trevor Gage

Great flat course! Very private.

Maryanne Johanson

I would actually place this course at a 3 1/2 and maybe a 5. This is not a $45 TO 5O course yet! Loved the beautiful, peaceful setting and realize owner has done much to clean the course up since it was closed for awhile. The tee boxes need work, branches laying on ground near trees on fairway. Paid almost $50 with tax on weekend. No Sr. Or Jr. rate weekends? Nothing healthy, vegetarian, or gluten free on menu. Sad to see so much unhealthy fried food and burgers! We will return on a weekday & bring our own food.

Awesome place to play golf. The restaurant is the best. Today is mother's day and we had our mother's day Sunday brunch. It was really good. The service were excellent, friendly staff and the food was delicious. I highly commend the place. And the owners are very nice . Thank you.

The golf course is in great shape and the greens are unbelievable. The best course in the valley.

Marcus Vasquez

Not impressed with this golf course. Fairways are burnt out and the golf carts require that you use the choke to get the cart to go. Wish the customer service was better in the restaurant, especially when you spend lots of money on drinks.

WOLFGANG

Amazing food. Great staff. We have been coming here for years. It is our special treat to bring our Mothers here for mothers day. A lovely drive to see spring flowers and look at the lovely gardens and ponds. Oma always gets the crispy fish and chips. Mom and i get the french dip. Wolfgang tried the pesto pasta this time. But he often gets fish and chips too. We have tried most everything on the menu. I like the prime rib when they have it, and the smoked ribs are fabulous. This is a lovely experience. Worth the drive and our favorite place.

Rashid Abdur-Rahman

Was there last weekend. Great weather, nice course, all new carts and equipment, all in all a pleasant surprise.

Gra Hajas

Gary Ponich

Good public golf course. Well laid out and easy to walk. Fairways grass is pretty long and a lot of clover. Bring bright colored balls or you can easily lose your ball in the fairway or rough.
