not as cool as all the other ones but its nice

Would have given 4 stars for the course, but Canadian's Beware! They advertise that they take "Cnd at par" but not even close and intentionally deceptive. They have a rate for Canadians where they take Cnd cash at par, but you are paying the US equivalent. Unlike courses like N Bellingham, or Semiamhoo, who don't intentionally mislead you.

Played on 8/11/18. Ran into a summer rainstorm for about 20 minutes on hole#3. Backdrop against the lake was marvelous! Beautiful layout. The back 9 looked like Augusta and offered a real test in accuracy. Followed up our round with some food/cocktails at El Agave! What a hidden gem. If this course was closer to Seattle, I'd be here every week.

Really beautiful and challenging course. Front nine is relatively flat while the back you are playing the mountain side. Fairways and greens in great shape and the greens are slick, but true. Staff was friendly and accommodating Great experience, one I will play again whenever I'm back in the area and highly recommend to others!

I was lucky to get the low green fee special for the day, and combine that with a great day of golf. Clubhouse eats can up their game a little.

Fun place to play with 2 very distinct 9's. The front plays flat and more open but a lot of water comes into play. It isn't long by any means, but tee shots require proper placement to have a good approach opportunity. The back 9 has a lot more undulation and less room for error left or right as the fairways are more tree lined. Greens on all 18 were very fast but fair, as well as very healthy looking. All the staff I ran into were very friendly. I'd play it more if it was any closer to me.

Nice enough course. Turns into a mud puddle during the off season. It'd be nicer if Sudden Valley residents had a discount on account to us paying for it in our dues.

In surprisingly good shape for Dec. 30th. Had a fun filled tournament.

David Ousley

We live on the 18th hole. Beautiful course.

Jordan J. Caron

Fun course, back nine got a little goofy but the front 9 was very solid and highlighted by the par 4 5th. Pro shop had a lot of equipment and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and made one heck of a hot dog.

Russell Kempe

Great course. Flat front 9 to tune-up before you hit the hills on the back 9. Better have your 'short game' working if your not there in regulation. Absolutely need a Pro V1 type ball for these greens. Played this course in August. Not much roll on the tee shots. Almost US Open type conditions if you don't hit the fairway.

Golf Washington

The thing I really like about Sudden Valley golf course is the distinction between the front and back nines. The front nine is relatively open and flat and winds its way serenely around the shores of Lake Whatcom. Swimmers, sail boats, water skiers and fishermen are all part of the front nine experience. Fairway landing areas are also a bit more generous on the front nine and the greens are generally larger. The back nine, however, is a completely different deal. Most of it is played on a hill overlooking the lake. The fairways are lined with huge evergreens and placement off the tee is priority one. In my opinion, Sudden Valley is one of Washington’s hidden gems. It offers plenty of variety, and with water hazards in play on 14 of the 18 holes, as well as 47 bunkers sprinkled throughout the course; it can also offer plenty of test. Sudden Valley is one of my favorite courses and definitely worth a play!

Beautiful Course and Fun to play!! If You play Bogey Golf as I do, I suggest you bring a few extra balls for a round of golf at Sudden Valley. As Beautiful as it is, it eats Golf balls at an alarming rate!!!

The tale of two courses. The front side is flat and runs around Lake Whatcom, while the back side heads up into the hills. The front side is more open while the back side is narrow with houses all around. The greens are in great shape and the fairways are lush. All in all an enjoyable experience.

It's like two different courses. A flat front 9 and the back 9 has some serious elevation changes. Best to play at when it's been dry a few days.

Tim Kilkenny

Beautiful location, affordable rates. The course was in good shape and pace of play was good. Hole layout is pretty straightforward. You can rent a golf board instead of a cart- Highly recommended. The golf board was the best part of the day.
