This Golf is included in the category of Public golf course.
Great short course for beginners and kids!
Very good golf course!
Nice course, challenging, several hills.
Home!
Not the best course. Often over crowded. Can get decent twilight prices.
Nice quiet park around golf course. Didn't actually get on golf course.
Typically fairly busy. I would recommend an early tee time on a weekday if you are playing 18. Today I played the 9 hole executive course starting at 6pm and was done in just under 1 hour.
What a gem! We'd never been even though it's a stones throw from our friends' home. The staff at the pro shop and cafe were very friendly and helpful (my first time at a driving range) and I felt very comfortable being a novice!
Poor conditions and staff is completely hit or miss.
Company day out & my first time playing 18 holes (first time playing golf) so was a good intro & the club was a laid back golf club
Great place to golf at
Fun golf course. Nice staff. Great driving range. Greens are excellent.
Short, value golf course, good for beginners to practice.
Very quality course, nice driving range too
I loved the perimeter trail. Well maintained and a fun walk.
A fun low key course that's pretty well maintained
Course is in great shape. Greens also
Great course, but expect a wait. Took 6 hours to play 18, and we were waiting on the groups in front of us the whole time.
Well kept couse.
Ok course, driving range ok
Pretty good for a municipal golf course. Tons of hills though.
They should care more about the surrounding. I saw at least 3 dead mice on the side walk. But I like the trail and the course inside are nice.
Vewy noice!!
Fairways are entertaining but most of the teeing grounds are usually not in good shape. They could get a better maintenance. That being said, their staff are friendly.
The course is pretty. However there were large patchy spots in most of the greens, and the first hole had a temporary green set up ten or so yards ahead of the actual green that you couldn't see well. Consequently, you shoot for the real green and have to play back to the temporary one. Our group was very disappointed.
It may not be the best course in the city (check out the West Seattle Golf Course for that distinction) but Jackson hole is certain second best. This course was renovated a few years back for added improvements on the first nine holes. So if you haven't been out to Jackson in while, give it a try, and see what you think about the changes. A side bonus is the short nine at Jackson, which is perfect for beginners just getting a feel for the game. The one caveat - be ready to have some ear plugs on hand forthe front-nine when you face all that noise from bordering Interstate - 5.
$8 9 hole par 3. Driving range. Decent course with some pretty tough holes
Nice park and looking forward to seeing some reinvestment when light rail is in.
The grounds are in pretty bad condition here compared to other golf courses in the area. It's a good value though. I guess you could say the pricing is on par.
Don't play here as often but when I do I always enjoy it. Challenging holes and well manicured greens. Did I mentioned I almost had a hole-in-one?
Fun 9 hole Par 3 course. Challenging full 18 course.
Great old muni course with lots of charm, character, and challenge.
Parts of the course I love. Other parts are not very well maintained. Some pretty slow rounds out there and marshals who seem to be there and do nothing to improve the pace.
Par 3 has rough greens midsummer. Maincourse looks great.
Comfortable course if you play early bird.
Just like old times, but more fun!
Nice place feeling relaxed
Lots of challenging holes, great par 3 course too
Unforgiving course but a nice retreat right here in the city.
Nice course. Turf was in much better condition than I expected. Has a few challenging shots but is mostly open and accessible. The rental rate for golf carts is borderline cost prohibitive ($28/round) but I come from courses where carts are built into the rates. Overall enjoyable and I'd play again but definitely walk or use a pull-cart.
Twas a great day for golf. Nice course. They've changed up the holes a bit.
This course was beautiful! Some of the holes were surprisingly hard, but so worth it.
friendly staff. heated driving range and good prices.
Great course, well maintained, and surprisingl affordable!
The perimeter trail is fairly well maintained, but watch out for flooding after heavy rains. There are about three active or abandoned homeless camps near the trail. It's my current favorite running trail, primarily due to the proximity to my house. Good hills and no ankle-breaking holes or roots.
A good solid muni. I really like the changes
Horrible shape. Tees and fairways in poor condition
Great municipal!
awesome driving range... XXL bucket of balls and a 16 oz draft beer for $15. great service and advice. ballin'!
Pretty good course. Well kept up and plays long. Always have a great time when playing
Accessible, free parking, good 18 holes, good for learning on the short 9 course
Wish the driving range was heated. Otherwise great county course within city limits
Golf course is in decent shape. Some holes are difficult for medium golfers.
Here for PGA Jr. Excellent program, nice double decker driving range.
Course was in good shape. For new players to course, it is poorly marked for distance and directional to next hole. This will cause slow play.
The best course in Seattle. I learned to golf there. Started on the Executive 9 hole course until I graduated to the main course w/hubby's help and the help of the staff. They are patient even with me, a not so great golfer. This is a good course to learn on, it has it all: ponds, creeks, hills (carts too thank gawd) lots of trees. But is still challenging enough for even seasoned golfers to have to work for their Pars. Each fairway is lined with trees so you don't have to worry about the fairway next to you having someone playing up your fairway. It's a city course so could use some help w/restrooms, cart paths etc. But the super wonderful team that works there you know are doing the best they can to get it fixed when the city lets loose of some funds. They added a driving range and with my good luck my fav golf pro. Val, joined them. Luv her. The course is older so as I said needs some work, (restrooms, cart paths) but the food taken care of by Anthony & James & team is great. The proshop with manager Kathy ( I do miss Gail ) but Kathy is great, then the wonderful proshop guys Will, Tommy, many many others I'm afraid I'll miss someone if I try to name them all and I'd not wish to hurt anyones feelings. John taught me how to hold my club w/a "proper golf grip". I LOVE these guys/gals. Can run slow but what course doesn't when weather in Seattle is good? Join the fun and hugs to ya all. :)
Always great deal on green fees and courts is in great summer condition
Excellent practice facilities and pleasant service. Enjoy!
Good course
Great 18 hole par 5, short par 3 9 hole, pro on site, driving range
Nice muni, but slow pace of play. Premier Golf does a good job keeping their courses in good shape. Range is nice, and you can get a large bucket and a draft beer for $12!!!
Wonderfully carved out golf sanctuary in the middle of busy urban environment... it can only be in heaven
Jackson Park needs to find a better way to mow their farways, the grass is cut so short that it makes the fairways very muddy. They should raise the mower a quarter of an inch. I think the Park department cuts the grass so close so they don't have to mow as often.
Greens are in good shape.
Staff: super nice and friendly Driving range: clean, well maintained and decently priced Executive 9-hole: Great for beginners. Not the nicest course I've ever seen, but they've priced it accordingly.
First times to play this course, on 5/29/18, and 5/31/18. Handicap 9. Very professional friendly helpful staff, Will in particular. Niko and Jay were also great to us. Lush tees and fairways. Greens run true, on the slow side, only a few bare spots. Course layout attractive, wooded, generally forgiving. An excellent value for the low price. We plan to play again often as possible. Clearly the best days to play in a under 4 hours are Monday-Thursday.
Fun municipal course. Conditions can vary and wait times can be long but that’s expected for a muni. They always have different deals daily which is great.
Jackson has a new greenskeeper and their staff is very excited about all the new enhancements. Don't let the yardage fool you as this is a tricky and challenging track. Hence the slow play at times.
Worst I've seen Jackson in years. There is a pallet on four fairway. Exposed wires on six. Temp Green on two. Sad
Tough track for a muni. Get's backed up quickly and often. Good folks in the clubhouse. Generally looking at a five hour round, sometimes 5.5 hrs. Par 3 gets busy and sometimes in poor shape. Recently built driving range with an upper deck. Never seems to get that busy, but I typically go to Interbay or Jefferson. Once saw a guy toe a ball that bounced off a tee box marker and flew 40 yards to the back tee box. I will always remember that.
Nice starter course, good driving range.
Went to their driving range for the first time today. $12 for a large bucket, breakfast sandwich, and a coffee. Can't beat that!
I miss this place ❤️
Awesome fun can't wait to play it in the summer
Great public course... hate playing... always wins!!
Course is in great shape but the greens are still lacking. Several dead spots and 1 green that is shut down completely
Good course, enjoy playing it. Some challenging holes but not too hard.
Cinderella boy... 1st time ever on the pro tour...
Great golf course
I enjoyed going there
This is a great course to play on. It has different challenges that makes it fun but not extremely difficult for the beginners either. It is easy access with it right off of I5 and I thought the price were reasonable. It is a course I will continue to come back to.
Early in the season and fairways are already hard. Like the layout of the course, but maintenance is average.
Wonderful golf course
Played 18 holes in 4 hrs on Sunday. Good course. Lots of changes in elevation.
Very run down clubhouse, parking lot, restaurant, etc. Newer driving range building (have not used). I take my kids here for the par 3, which is about what you would expect. It is in average shape and could use some TLC around the greens and tee boxes. Full course is also what you would expect from a municipal course. Staff is always nice. If you aren't too pretentious, you can have a good time here.
Sunshine and weather in the 60s make for a fine day on the links. However, the management here has let things go too far. The ball washers all had very old gritty water, not a trace of soap, one or more with the lid coming off in such a way as to damage your ball while attempting to clean. The mid course water coolers were all empty. Detritus of varying sorts was accumulating in different areas of the course. Someone needs to come in and manage the management company overseeing the Seattle public golf courses.
Awesome staff, easy access, lucky to have a place like this nearby...
Shorter track, challenging greens and a lot of uneven lies with slopey fairways. Overall good value for the cost and a solid test for golfers of all skill levels.
Dirt cheap but you get what you pay for. In had fun but the short nine greens were demolished.
Great course with sand, water hazards and a range of slopes.
A great place to play golf
They were pretty cool when they caught our party playing "naked golf". Didn't kick us out for drinking ALLOT. Great place for a beginning bachelor party!
Driving range and fun golf course.
The new driving range is excellent. Always busy, so get a tee time if you want to play the 18 hole on a nice day.
My home course growing up serves an even better purpose in winter. Sled, ski or snowshoe, just get out and enjoy winter when it comes
Good times always at Jackson park
Great crew really make you comfortable!
The staff are really friendly and they have some really good deals. I love coming here on my day off to practice on the driving range.
A very good municipal golf course. Challenging, well maintained, and good service. The clubhouse is minimal, but that's not why I go here anyway.
I enjoy playing here because it is close and cheap. The course is actually in good shape as well.
Local favorite - enjoy the unique course layout...you don't need your driver until hole 5!
As far as city courses go this is decent, tough greens and unforgiving fairways though. If you don't hit straight bring a LOT of extra balls
Great little course. Nice people.
I certainly don't want to lose this course to Seattle Housing Authority for affordable housing. But this course could certainly use some better maintenance
The executive 9 is perfect for a beginner golfer like me. Holes are approachable but still entertaining and interesting. A few of the greens could use some love but to be fair it's January. The mail course looks beautifully maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful!
Tough Greens and All were in great shape. Very Quick and Challenging. Fairways were spotty but nothing to complain about. Hilly and beautiful.
Great course. Great staff. Driving range is awesome.
Great service, super inexpensive night out: two drinks, two small buckets for the drive range: $16 total
I was never there
There is a good trail surrounding the golf course. There's garbage and traffic noise here that detract from the otherwise great trail
Good course. Very challenging
Great driving range and nice to have two for one bucket in the evenings
Best place for all level of players, I started playing here when I was shooting over 100 and still shooting consistently mid 80s. Great practice facilities with a brand new and awesome golf range. And don't forget the party 3 course great for family and kids, and also well maintained for a pat 3 course.
The city should get it together and reinvest some money to improve the grounds. They have a wonderful property but even in a boom time like this refuse to see these hidden gems. I don't blame the folks trying it's mainly the city that doesn't care and would rather make them homeless camps.
Just went to the driving range...$12 bought me a hundred and eight balls and a pint of beer
Nice green. You can see it is well maintained. This is a very good place to sweat and practice my expert swings. haha
Very difficult from blues and white tees. Many narrow uphill shots, be straight or be in trouble, A game for this course at 12 to 15 handicappers. Staff pleasant and accommodating.
The course is usually good but something's went very wrong this year. They are overwatering to avoid burning out but without factoring the mild weather. Middle of June and it was not rolling much and mud in spots. Aerification did not take well, greens are a grid of bumps and most felt like they were rolling at 8-9 stimp while a few were quite a bit quicker..very frustrating. If I would have putted on the practice green before paying I wouldn't have played, I won't be back for awhile. I almost want to say they need a new greenskeeper because what has been done this year is a bit of a travesty. The place was beat down, the last course I've played that was in worse shape was Tyee. Pretty sad because I used to love this course. Appears their priority is the range not the course.
A nice course for beginners and very close to I5. Great new driving range
Can't go wrong.
Good place to hit balls
Good shape. Greens very nice
Love playing on the back 9 growing up, never did the fill 18, but the 9 was great for me as a kiddo.
Fun course, nothing overwhelming about it but can be a challenge if not played wisely
It's not a destination clubhouse, but it's not "run down". It's clean and in a 1930's building, very vintage. Besides, are you looking to golf or hang out in the pro shop? The driving range is brand new, and the course improvements of the past few years have dramatically enhanced the play. For the price, length, and proximity for city dwellers, it's a great option.
Great driving range with heat!
Very difficult course for amateurs.
This a great spot for the early elementary classes, and laid back atmosphere.
Really good public golf course that also has a driving range. One of the better public courses out there.
Very friendly and helpful staff (First on the list of this review for many reasons). This course is very well maintained: very few bare spots and the groundskeeper has found a consistent feel for fairway and rough, even when the conditions of this piece of land change from the front 9 to the back 9. I find the layout very enjoyable and diverse.-> Good distance and elevation change without being over the top on either. Good diversity of pin placement (seems to change every day). Long driving range with high nets, so you can let them fly. (I have also heard that these balls are "non restricted", for the full feel of a max drive). I recommend getting the app on your phone for a variety of reasons, top is the dynamic pricing. In summary: price = kinda high during "peak" times.... But very reasonable at "non peak" times. Pro shop = great staff, limited selection of brands on hand. Course = very enjoyable for a wide range of players. Enjoyment = ☺☺☺☺ The executive 9 needs some work on the greens and is not included in my rating of 5 stars, but it is still fun to play. It is also a little more laid back on time and cost.
And I know people like to golf but it is so awesome in the winter it's so cool to slide down there once the stuff's all the snow is so cool I've snow I've slaved there since I was 10 and I'm 45 now.
Great course with reasonable green fees
Nice golf course, driving range and greens. The club house serves good burgers as well.
Service is good, friendly. Noce quiet place to unwind.
Not an easy course for beginners, but very fun otherwise.
Fun & challenging and walkable layout, consider carrying more balls then usual if you aren't always on point. 9-hole Par3 course available to tune your iron and putting game.
Range was remodeled in the last few years. Nice 2 deck range, the only downside is the landing areas are sloped so you cant always see where your ball lands. Course is normally in decent shape for a Seattle muni. Some of the greens get baked out through out the summer. Pace of play can get a little long on the weekends during the summer, but that happens at all our munis. Staff is friendly and helpful.
City's need golf to survive.
Great customer service from the whole staff, from the pro shop to the restaurant and even the greens keepers. Challenging course with tight fairways. Be prepared to lose some golf balls.
They need to install signs directing golfers from one hole to another. The map on the score card is too small. Other than that, it's a great golf course at reasonable prices. The driving range is excellent as well.
my high school team plays her for all its matches and I liked playing it every time. The driving range is a great addition to the course. unlike the UW driving range, the lefties don't have to worry about hitting a heater above them.
Good facility for practice.
I love going to the driving range and also enjoying a beer!
One of three regulation length Seattle city courses Jackson is a challenging layout with a goofy (to many) 1st hole. Easy to walk the only real bummer is the sound of traffic from nearby I-5. The fairways and greens are in great shape and the two years old two level driving range is very nice. Pace of play can be slow especially late in the day when players who are learning the game (or perhaps players who think golf is a beer drinking sport) show up. In winter Jackson stays playable unlike West Seattle that becomes a step above a bog.
Excellent par 3 executive course
Always fun and challenging. Good pace of play that day.
My nephew has been talking the first tee course for a little bit now and really enjoys it. The coaches take the time to teach them all aspects of the game, especially good sportsmanship. Coach Josh hands down is gifted with his mannerism with these kids! And there's beer.
Beautiful looking course
Course was in great condition. Was happy to finally play here, as it's not far from Downtown, unless you're sitting in traffic. The greens were in great condition, and the course was clean. One thing I didn't expect though, was how hilly the course gets after the 2nd hole. The course is definitely a challenging one, so expect to be frustrated at times. Although the greens were in great condition, I think they could have eased up on some of their hole placements. It was like putting at a challenging mini golf spot, so be prepared for 3 putts. Just don't throw your putter afterwards like one of the guys I played with.
Great course but feels like forever to get a round in.
I personally have not used this golf course myself but you know others that have used it and they like it because they go back to it! I am not much of a golfer myself do I care for it but I would recommend this place because of other people that I know that I've been here and they do too!
Gave it a 3 because the price is right. Not in the best shape. Typical municipal course. Teed off at 1022 finished at 330 again typical of any municipal course. #2 is 70yds and a temp green, but trees are down and work in progress. Probably a good time for high handicap. Couple challenging holes but kind of gimmicky. If the sun is shining and the weather is nice I say sit back enjoy the comfortable benches and good buddies and make a day of it.
Terrible. Never come here (I come here a lot so leave open tee times for me) :)
Back nine Is not dry. Too rigid with cart path only on front 9, that is basically dry. I was not impressed with crew or course.
Walking Trail Review: I've been walking this since before it officially opened and my excitement in a neighborhood walking trail is turning to disgust with the number of homeless camps along the way. Trees are being damaged, garbage is being strewn and I no longer feel safe to walk parts of the the trail. I know the problem is complex, but a couple of tents tucked into the trees have become half a dozen encampments damaging the environment.
Fun place to play can you get very crowded on a summer day be ready for some * 5 Hour round but it's still a great course
Course not in great shape but very helpful staff.
