Scenic views of the Yakima river, Rattlesnake Mountain and Candy Mountain. I have not eaten in the club house, but I have golfed once in the Fall. It's worth a visit to enjoy a slow round, soak up some sun and enjoy natural the beauty.

Love this course, not much of a golf pro, but great times out on the green with friends.

Challenging course with some exciting risk/reward opportunities. The view from #13 green is spectacular, overlooking the Yakima River and Rattlesnake Mountain.

First review I've ever written....and unfortunately it's not a good one. This course came highly recommended several years ago so maybe at one time this was a great course....not anymore. As soon as we pulled in the parking lot we noticed the overgrown weeds and general dumpiness. As we walked to the proshop, the building looked terrible, chipping and pealing paint, weeds galore, damage to the stuco finish, etc...The driving range, while hitting off of grass, was pretty much dirt and divots as either they were incredibly busy that day or they hadn't moved the hitting area in some time. Moving to the course, it was full of dandelions, the tee boxes had little to no grass, the fairway grass was almost as bad. As much dirt as grass. The course is filled with blind shots, targetted hitting areas and is narrow. With the exception of one hole, there were no markings to identify where you should hit to....we were left with our best guess as to where to hit. Overall a miserable golf experience....luckily it was a beautiful day so we made the best of it. As we finished my wife said, if we ever meet golfers we don't like we should tell them to play here. Save your money and to to any of the other courses in the Tri-Cities.....all of them are way better than Horn Rapids.

I have been to this golf course a few times, every time in the past, I thought about how much potential this golf course had, coming today I saw the potential being taken advantage of which was so great to see. The new ownership has done this course justice, however while I was there today with my work I witnessed an older lady attacking a younger girl. They both work for the Golf Course. The younger lady was extremely nice, and served us food, and had a smile on her face the entire time. After she got screamed at for no reason, along with the other middle aged lady standing there, they both looked very upset, and confused. I know that I was very confused they got yelled at, as well as the people sitting around me. Bottom line, the customer service was great, the course looked great, but the employees need to get treated better, and treat one another better.

Good course. Balls often land in the brush and backyards of homes that surround the course...not my balls but other players haha. Good size driving range...lots of holes.

My husband and I have been to the golf course countless times. Absolutely loved it every time, except for the last visit, today. Golfing was great as usual. The weather, and scenery was great. The pro shop customer service was excellent. However, Karen, who served us food earlier this morning, was extremely rude, and offensive. I was expecting the usual girls Elizabeth, Kim or Jamie, who are extremely nice, and always make everything perfectly, so when Karen didn’t treat us like we were used too, and acted too good for us, my husband and I were surprised. The food that is usually delicious, was over cooked, and very salty. When we had a few special requests, and they were denied, we decided that from now on, we will pack our own lunches when she is working. I don’t know if she was having a bad day or what, but she was very rude, offensive, and didn’t seem like we were worth her time. This was our first bad experience, but was a bad enough experience to the point where we may not return.

Pro shop was empty, the worker didnt seem to know what he was doing, and there was barely anything for sale. Awful pro shop, unfortunately. Now, the course. The course was fine. But, whoever is in charge of grounds keeping needs to be fired. A couple greens were flooded and it was like I was walking on a sponge. Also, majority of the greens have severe dead patches and/or dirt on them. Might as well golf on carpet. Not a good first experience. With some better maintenance, grounds keeping, and a revamped pro shop, it would be an awesome course to play on. Lastly, I had to give it a 2 out of 5 because the deal was too good to pass up, which makes sense why it was so cheap to play on today. $27 for a cart and 27 holes is a dang good deal. It's going to be a while, due to today's circumstances but, when I come back, I hope to see it change for the better. LOTS of potential.

Customer service experience was very positive, with polite staff, but the course is in awful condition. Weeds, dead grass, tee boxes are especially poor. Won't be back any time soon.

2.5 stars. The course had pitted and scabbed greens and though the challenge of the layout was somewhat fun it created an environment of unnecessarily difficult terrain. The tee boxes fairways and greens were mostly made up of various islands of moderately manicured grass spread amungst feral scrub brush - barren of trees. The clubhouse was okay. There was a couple of guys working the pro shop that provided good service, yet the grill left something lacking. There was a nice young lady that seemed like she was new and was putting full effort into serving people and an older lady who who seemed to either lack the ability or will to multi-task. I ordered the "green" salad for $5 which I had envisioned as a handful of bagged salad at a very minimum, but to my surprise found that it wasn't green at all. It was a made entirely of; approximately 1/3 head of iceberg lettuce topped with a pile of green and yellow bell peppers and an unsightly heap of unseasoned - store bought croutons. The green portion of this head of lettuce was likely utilized for the burgers as the entire plate was more yellow and white than green. This was less appealing to me as a consumer - not only because it took me over 20 minuets to get this unsightly mess, but also because I'm loosely allergic to bell peppers and on a personal level - don't consider iceberg lettuce to be a "green" variety. I would reserve this title for "mixed greens" such as the bags that you can buy at the grocery store for under $3 - and then portion at least 4 of these salads out of. There was a tournament playing which is great and all - but never once did I see a course martial and the rate of play on some holes left 3 teams backed up at a single hole at times. Likewise there wasn't a beverage cart serving the course which made for a long hot day. Over all we had fun and the course had potential. Maybe it was too early in the season? But I felt like with how the climate is in the area that the course at a minimum should had been in better shape. The greens really needed to be ground and reset in my opinion - or at very least a heavy discount to play the potted course.

Beautiful, challenging, fun people. So happy we played this couples tournament!

Golf Washington

Located in Richland Washington and carved through the desert, Horn Rapids golf courses is definitely for the links enthusiast. It reminds me of many of the course layouts in Arizona and Nevada. There is nice green grass on the tee blocks, fairway-landing areas and around the greens. The fairways are plenty big but all the rest is Mother Nature. No trees at Horn Rapids to speak of, just you, your golf ball and the eastern Washington geology. One of the reasons I like Horn Rapids is the scenery. Much of the course plays on a hill just west of Richland and several holes provide panoramic views of the Yakima River and surrounding Tri-cities. The pricing is easy on the wallet and I'd not hesitate to recommend Horn Rapids.

It's a fun and challenging course. I played in October, after they sanded the greens and after a long hot summer, so it wasn't in the best condition, but it was fun with some pretty views.

Beautiful course. We didn't get a chance to play 18 holes due to weather one day and a tournament the next, but staff were friendly and professional when we called to book, to cancel, and to ask questions. We used the driving range and had a good day anyway. We'll definitely be back to play a full game when we're in the area.
