This Golf is included in the category of Golf club.
I'll return to this course over and over. Winter golf here is challenging but well worth it. Well kept course.
Wife and I golfed this from a living social deal. Good experience. The guy at the check out desk not the friendliest person for that role but overall enjoyed it. Cool eagles nest on one of the holes.
One of the better courses in the area. Tournament courses has several 400 and a couple 500 yd holes. Beautiful views of Mount Rainier and Bald Eagles on the 18 hole Tournament course. The price is reasonable.
The staff was rude for a second time checking for a round of golf. I called the manager and of course no reply. I will not be returning to play or recommend the course.
Again the course screwed up our tee times. The greens were in good shape. Over all a feel good course.
Great course! Friendly staff!
Other than the rate, course has matured and is a beautiful golf course. Love it Hat
We used a Groupon and played golf and ate. It was a good time on a nice course. Make sure to try and catch the eagles...
Great atmosphere in the restaurant. Wonderful people
Great golf facility. Chipping and putting greens. Driving range. Exec. Course. Challenging 18 holes. Nice club house with Banquet facilities.
The track is in good shape for winter golf. Enjoy playing here.
Came back for a second time. Remodeling their bar/kitchen . Refused to sell bottled soda or water, even with a sign stating "purchase bottled water and soda at the pro shop desk"
Very good freash beer
Twilight zone and s a great deal for this place. Very well kept up.
Hurried us out before our tee time because a tourney started in half hour!! Don't book tee time for regulars if no respect!!
We live here so we are biased. We dont golf but. We get to go food often. The restaurant staff is so friendly and will quickly learn your name and greet you warmly whenever you come back. Thank you John and Pam and staff!
OH MAN......if you like to golf and eat good food with an amazing backdrop of a mountain (well a very large volcano) then this is the place to go.
Greens needed to be blown off lots of debris covering the greens
Tough today with very hard pin placement.
Probably one of my favorite golf courses. Well maintained, fair prices, and good food!
Golf course in excellent condition, friendly pro shop, restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices.
Lost 8 buckets from a 10 bucket range key because they updated their machine. Proshop guy just blatantly said i cant read this key anymore. When i persisted i he gave me a couple tokens and said this is the best i can do. The rudeness and poor service is something that ive come to expect from the staff but I am disappointed in losing out on money i spent because they changed machines. Hit my last 2 buckets and will not return.
I love high cedars! Amazing place for all golfers! The ladies night lessons with wine are the best! I highly recommend signing up for those of you want to learn to golf. The driving range also has an amazing view of Mt. Rainier.
Nice grounds. Decent food.. Good dinner.
Only played 3 holes. Our tee time was just before a tourney. Was right up against the next players yet was consistently harassed by the ranger. Very disappointing attempting to catch up with an out of town guest after driving down from Bellevue in the early am. Beautiful course, sub par customer service. I will give them credit as they did refund me.
Friendly accomedating staff, beautiful course...
Friendly staff. Course is a little wet this time of year. Large practice area, which is great. Always love seeing the resident eagles.
Great golf course with an occupied eagles nest atop a dead tree on the 12th I think. I'd give it 5 stars except the guy working the pro shop, really wish I new his name to post here, What a self absorbed JERK!
Great course very scenic throughout. Could use a little better customer service. But hey...talk to them for 2 minutes play the course for 4 hours.
a GREAT place for events. Every year we come here for a company event and the staff always been very accommodating, and kind. Also, they have great breakfasts!
Nice course. $16 hamburger is out of reach for me. Bring your own food, and enjoy the river, bald eagles, with babies in the nest, and challenging holes with fast greens.
Food below average and all staff but one seam to think their in another class.
Well maintained course. With a good driving range and putting green .
The course can get really soggy in some places, but it's a fun track. It's a very easy walk. The practice facilities are great and the greens play really well during the winter. Bald eagles can be seen frequently here.
Course is in super shape. Beautiful morning for golf.
It's an ok golf course. But the range was closed till 10 am. And it seem to always be closed.
Nice course, but $72.00 for half a cart and 18 holes is too much
Really fun place to learn and play golf! Has executive course and Consecutive Course.
Great golf course with some great views.
Course was in great shape pace of play was good until the end of the round
Good course. Friendly workers. Not so sure about management. How in the world can they get away with charging 54% higher rate for non-seniors. Most courses are $3 - $4 dollar difference at most. Seems to me like they might be legally liable on this one (discrimination?). Well, I'm only up for leaving a not so good review. Here's to hoping it changes something!!!!
Great course, kinda pricey for Orting!
Its a cute course which is bigger than it looks initally. Not overly difficult but still has a few holes to challenge your game
General Manager was an ass hole! Love to golf, but will never golf there again !!!!
GreT place to play
Let me start by saying that this is a beautiful golf course in beautiful shape. Maybe a bit more water to hit over and a flat green once in awhile would be nice. We kiddingly called them roller coaster greens. My only issue was the first person we met at 5:50 a.m. He appeared to be a grumpy old pro shop guy of some sort who informed me that " we could only play 9 holes." I told him that I had booked a tee time for 6:10 and that there was no mention of only playing 9. He said that was impossible since the first time anyone would go out would be 6:30. I told him to check his tee times since I was sure of the time I mentioned. He told me and my friend to basically "get lost". Hmmmm, confusion. As we contemplated spending our money somewhere else another man showed up and told us to come in. Meanwhile the first guy disappeared. He was great and said that he had our name and tee time right there at 6:10. So I'm not sure what was going on there but we enjoyed our day.
Nice range. Nice views. Busy but smooth operation. Good play too
Had a groupon for a bucket of balls and 20.00 of food in their club restaurant had the smokey bacon mac and cheese and it was out of this world. Service and staff were great!
Beautiful day on the course! Unfortunately, there were a lot of people that shared that opinion, a little slow out there.
Best executive course around
I'm extremely disappointed with High Cedars. We were playing foot golf, took a break at 9 holes for lunch and were chastised for it. Told we were taking too long, after spending money in their restaurant. After that I took a couple friends into the back of our rented golf cart (not supposed to do that, for enough) instead of taking an extra 20 minutes to walk there because we were told earlier we were too slow. THEN, Their general manager took his white Oldsmobile sedan ONTO the golf course YELLING at us for the 4 people on the golf course. Lastly, he tried to even call the police (who obviously didn't show up for this guy). I'd think a car on the course would be far more damaging but who am I to know about course management. All said and done, we were treated like degenerates when we paid and we're doing nothing wrong other than giving friends a rude in the course to speed up our playing when they complained how slow we were in the first place. Please make up your mind. I'd appreciate a respectful response to this when you see it. -Respectfully
This golf course is very racist thay took our money and our food order then the manager came to our table and stared to yell at us about getting in the tee box at 3:10 when it was only 3:00 and we were waiting on our food order then thay told us to get out because we are drity gypsies management is very rude and prejudiced i would not recommend this golf course to anybody of a colored culture also I would not recommend taking your kids here just because of the fact of how thay are prejudiced and racist I won't even give them a star
Great place and hospitality great programs for the kids ask for Chris awesome instructor
Worst golf experience ever. Paid for two people twilight with a kart. Was told karts back at 7pm. Play till we cant see. However they closed the Bar Before 4:40pm.. 20min early.... so no food or beer after the first 9. Than about 6:10pm someone came out and told us we were getting kicked off the green because we were the last group... We were not offered any sort of reimbursement for being shorted an hour of play. We have frequently been the last group on at other courses, and NEVER been kicked off anywhere else.
This golf course is racist use the term for me and my party as dirty gypsies also kicked us off of the course for doing nothing at all also took our food orders without giving us food told us one quote for a tee time but then shifted their plans ruined our whole day I have to give one star for a review but honestly they're not worth one single star they're very vulgar racist and inappropriate I don't understand how they can stay in business when they're doing all this
27 holes of golf and a magnificent veiw of the mountain
Consistently a great place to golf. Fantastic views of Mt Rainier!
Course was in great shape. Tough pin placements.
Played the Executive 9, it was fun.
Horrible experience. The kitchen closed 20 minutes early and we got kicked off the course 50 minutes before we were told that the golf cart was due back because "you are the last people on the course, and currently the only business.". They will not be getting our business again.
Very nice course.
Decent track at High Cedars. I've played a few times including 1 tournament. Fairways, greens, and course conditions are what you would expect from a city course. Greens need more attention and shop staff could be more helpful but again it's a public course so you get what you pay for.
Good environment and well kept. Never have had any problems and it is always a good time.
We've golfed on the executive course many times. Good breakfast too.
Horrible customer service!!! Went to play 9 holes and asked to play the back 9 since it was wide open. The manager said no because I would slow everything down (even though I was playing as a single and it was open). He said the only way he would "let" me play today is on the front 9 and there would be an hour wait. I told him that I will go somewhere else, he then informed me that the short course was open. I told him that the course was too short for me. He looked at me and said "oh too good to play here huh?". I will never go to this course again. There's plenty of great courses around Tacoma and I would rather drive an extra 30 mins to get good customer service.
Must play great greens great staff!!!
Great course
It's a small dinning room that has awesome food on Friday night's! First come first serve ! The golf course is also amazing! You will see golfing eagles, cranes ,Mt Rainer! You must see it on your own !
This is a spacious course in a quiet setting, and with respectable rates. Everyone was friendly, and the clubhouse offers a good selection of gear as well as food & drink. I'll be back!
Great condition, nice staff. Always a favorite to play
I use to live there. Nice course. Traffic getting out sux.
A must play golf course!! With a beautiful view of Mt Rainier!!
Staff was extremely rude when I went to check in, no outside drinks/food/coolers allowed, poorly maintained course & near house with a boring layout. Would never go back!!
I scheduled a scramble shotgun tournament for 60 players in June for September 19th. Two weeks after I scheduled it they told me I was down for the 12th so I had to change the date of the tournament so then some people couldn't play. Then TWO days before the tournament day John the general manager called me and told me I'm only suppose to have 40 players! HUGE miscommunication between him and coworkers and I was very unhappy. I only had 56 and we were suppose to have a shotgun but he changed it a little and made it work with the 56. But he was a jerk about it and was not nice the day of the tournament. So let's just say I will no longer play at this course or host anymore tournaments at this course and neither will a lot of people that played in it. The General manager will be the one to ruin this courses reputation and lower the amount of players! They will miss out on a lot of money since I put on two to three big tournaments a year!
Great wide forgiving golf course. The staff and people were awesome to work with. Most holes are wide and forgiving and the greens rolled true.
The venue was well-staffed, had great ambience, clean restooms, and a very quick cleaning service after we all ate dinner for our year end work party. Orting was a little out of the way, but considering the beautiful greens, I can understand why golfers would make the trip.
Driving range ! Was a beautiful day to hit some balls , very peaceful, cant wait to go back ! Lunch was smelling tastey w all the laughter coming from the club house , stop in and check them out , saw nice looking assortment of ladies clothing on sale for 25$ each , the help were very friendly .
Great course, always love playing this public golf course.
Fun course. Easy walk, great food!
Nice course, but you would think they would have rain covers on there carts. Carts were junk, smokey and ran poorly.
Can not say enough Good things about this Course ..
Driving range is fun!! We can take the kids to practice until they get comfortable enough to play a course. As a family we’ve used the driving range to hit balls, the putting green to practice our putting, and the chipping green to practice chipping. Sounds obvious, but for inexperienced golfers like myself this was foreign to me. My husband has played the 9 hole course and said it’s fun and pretty easy. I’m using my 5 star rating based on the driving range!
Had a great 18 holes on this beautiful course after finding a Groupon. Had some good hot dogs afterwards.
Nice course. Open and easy for a hacker like me. Priced reasonable
WELL KEPT COURSE, GREAT GREENS. LOVED IT WILL BE BACK SOON. BTW DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING THE RESTAURANT, KILLER BREAKFAST!
High Cedars golf course in Orting WA is a great public course with a country club feel. The greens are in great condition and the course offers a lot of challenge with bunkers and water hazards requiring accurate shots. A great course for the money!
Wonderful day off golf on a very busy course. Play seemed slow but when we finished our round in 4 hours. Seems right to me. Marshall makes sure pace of play us kept. He actually kept apologizing to use for having to wait at tees. We were a twosome because another couple was a no show. Of course we are faster than a foursome. Course can add some challenge if your off the fairway. Tree shot are available if you like that sort of thing! The greens and tee boxes were in good shape. Views of Mount Rainer blew me away!
John Billings 'Celebration of Life at his home course. RIP, you will be missed.
Excellent service and a very nice golf course!
They got a brand new range, its very nice.
Good course but the guy that works the pro shop counter on March 20th around 3:30 p.m. is not the nicest guy in the world he should go work at a job where he doesn't work around people he has an attitude regardless what u ask him
Beautiful Golf Course right on the river well taken care of
Fun golf course. They have two courses. One executive course and one 18 hole course. The two courses weave through all the neighborhood homes. Driving range looks like irons only. Not sure though. Club house and restaurant looks really nice. Full food kitchen if you want to get a bite to eat. It's the middle of summer and the fairways look green and soft. Anyway, wanted to show you all a few pics.
Great coarse, look for the Bald Eagles, gets a lot of play but they keep it in great shape.
Good service and very nice course!
Great course, easy walking, executive 9 as well.
Great course, great fun
2golf courses 18 holes@ 9holes nice setting!
Decent driving range, nice course.... especially when the mountain is out. Easy course to walk and good for most levels of players.
Good course for my first time golfing. The view of Rainier is fantastic.
Nice, small town golf club. Single-level driving range. Played the short par 3 executive course; it was fun but could use a bit more upkeep and TLC. Got a nice 5k walk out of it.
This course is well cared for, plus the prices are not out of control. And several holes give you beautiful views of Mount Rainier.
Beautiful course excellent price
Nice course reasonable price
I had my wedding reception here in 2008. John the director was on point! I have some breathtaking photos. People think it's a postcard. I go back for breakfast Pretty good food and beer is cold what more do you need?
Love the executive course
Great round course in nice shape greens really nice soft but we had some rain
I have been to the restaurant for 20 years. The food preparation and variety is wonderful. Derek the head chef is willing to prepare something for Friday night dinners if requested in advance. The only negative is I prefer the dining room overlooking the golf course rather than the bar area. Hopefully they will open it up again.
A great public course on the outskirts of historic Orting.
Well kept undulating greens. Open, yet defined layout...lacking adequate yardage marking in the fairways (only real negative). Bring your rangefinder and enjoy.
The course is beautiful but the staff are rude and pushy. We went to play a fun casual game on a Tuesday afternoon. The entire time the Marshals kept stopping and trying to hurry us up. One even had the nerve to say after you hit the ball 5 times just pick it up and move on. Then after the front 9 we stopped to eat at the country club and they had the nerve to tell us if we stop we may not be able to get back on cause it is so busy. There was no one ther. Been playing golf for a long time all over the world while in the Navy and this place is the most disrespectfull staff I have ever seen. Dont waste your time or money. They also paired us with another group which we didnt want because we were there to catch up on old times.
Attended a dear friends wedding there.loved it.
Didn't care one of the staff members. Very unfriendly. Shouldn't be working the desk if he acts like he doesn't like people. Course was nice though.
Has a range, and a putting green.
great view! Exec 9 in under 2 hours!
Very friendly and helpful staff! As a first timer at High Cedars I found the course was very well kept up and challenging. Very nice staff as well. Will return and highly recommend.
Decent course and the food is great!
Drainage is lacking but great views and great course
Very nice
Easy walking in good shape. Great hospitality. Bunkers could use a little more maintenance . Will play there again.
Staff customer service needs help! Charged us wrong and blamed us for it. The course is nice though
Nice facility: clean, open(airy) and not too busy. If i had any criticism it would be, they need some chipping targets, other than greens.
Golf course is in great shape and the food is awesome!
Course was in great shape
Great course
Friendly staff, great prices.
Executive course is really good, they have a great Groupon deal also. But it's beautiful here, and some of the best views of Mount Rainier while your golfing. And surprisingly the greens are fast!! Even at 7:30 in the mildewy morning :-)
Great place food was fabulous great place for our 50th class reunion would highly recommend it for large parties
Nice driving range
I was nervous to golf here, as I read a number of negative reviews beforehand. However, everyone I interacted with was extremely professional, friendly and helpful. The course was well maintained, and the pace of play was good as well. Overall, my experience was excellent, and I highly recommend this fun, challenging course.
I love the executive 9. It's a fun course to do in the summer after work.
Excellent time with friends! Beautiful views. Nice golf coarse
It was good. You had a beautiful driving range and a good putting practice
Don't bother booking a tee time online. They do not keep record of it and are RUDE about it when you get there. BAIT & SWITCH. Picked a time and price online and gave a credit card number. The next day we left work early to go there and they had no record of tee time and wanted to charge more than DOUBLE the online price. Waste of gas and time off work. Went to Lipoma Firs instead and it was cheaper than High Cedars fake online price. We will NEVER golf here again. Would rather drive an extra 30 min to any other course.
I agree with most others on here about the guy at the counter. The younger guy they have is fine but the guy that is there in the morning is very rude. It is a shame because I live only a few miles from the course and it is a good deal for 30 bucks but I might start going elsewhere because of him. As far as the course, it is never crowded so that is why I like to go there. There is not a lot of thrills at this course but it is a good place to work on your game. Most of the time the course is in good condition.
We had breakfast at the restaurant this morning. The food, as always, was delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
I LIKE HIGH CEDARS. IT IS A CHALLANGE WITHOUT BEING IMPOSSIBLE. IT HAS LOT OF WIDE FAIRWAYS. THE GREENS ARE TOUGH BECAUSE THEY ARE UNDULATING BUT THEY ARE IN GREAT SHAPE. I LIKE PLAYING THERE.
