This Golf is included in the category of Golf course.
Good value for money and course is in good shape. Wish they spaced out the tee times a few more minutes, so rounds weren't so slow
Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Played the back 9 and the course was excellent condition, greens are fast and they roll true. Only thing was the bunkers where still washed out from the weekend rain. Will definitely play here again.
conditions are good, service does not exist. I came in on the turn and sat there for 5 minutes while the staff all chatted in the back. no time to get anything. cart girl came by once in 18 holes. never a marshall even trying to keep pace. we had to wait on every single shot we hit, that's fun golf. nobody cares
Course is in excellent shape
Great course, in very good shape. Loved all the hills. Staff was friendly and cheerful !
it was an average course a little run down but for the price it isnt worth it.
I agree some staff are very very very RUDE!
Had a tee time for 1:30. When I arrived 30 minutes early I was then informed that my time had been pushed back an hour and a half. If they had any value on customer service, they would have notified me prior to showing up so that I could possibly make other arrangements. Being that the sun sets just after 5 this time of year, I’m left without being able to get a round today. Poor management and customer service.
Fairway and greens are in great shape!
Nicest staff best condition (always, )
Beautiful and well maintained! Special thanks to Marcella and Roger!
Great place to play golf!
Great course.
One of the best municipal courses in DFW. Challenging, but not too difficult. Friendly clubhouse, bar, and cart workers. Course is in consistently good shape.
good course
Beautiful Golf Course! My kids loved going there, and there were nice staff, and overall the golfing experience was great!
A great Golf Course. Good lay-out and well maintained greens. Sometimes it is very slow on weekends and can easily take more than five hours to play a round.
Excellent
What a goat ranch Worst bunkers I've ever seen in my life and very poorly maintained Guys in the pro shop could've cared less I mention the bunkers Don't waste your money at this place
My favorite public course in the Plano/Frisco area, Ridgeview Ranch is a terrific and fun set up for the average golfer. Most holes do not require a particularly accurate tee shot. This makes the game more fun since you still have a shot to the green even after spraying it a little off the tee on most holes. You can 'tee it high and let it fly' with very few exceptions (#4, #11, #14, #15). There are a few very challenging holes (#3, #9, #11, #15) in terms of distance and design, however, there are also some holes that allow even the average golfer a very good chance to score well (#6, #10, #13). Par 5s are evenly designed. #6 and #10 are reachable in 2 while #2 and #16 generally play as 3 shot holes. Par 3s have some variety while being on the easier side. #5 and #7 are short irons that require a carry over waste areas. #12 is a mid-long iron and #17 involves a downhill shot using a mid-short iron. Greens are consistently in good shape and can be very fast in peak weather. Grassy areas are well maintained. Bunkers are the only disappointment, but, it they are improving this as of late. Practice area includes a short game area with practice bunker and chipping green. Putting green is huge. Driving range is adequate and is usually busy. Excellent teaching staff at Ridgeview led by Bruce Sims, especially for young golfers. There is a busy youth golf program there.
Great place
Over-priced. Staffers here are not customer-oriented. No smile and very authoritative. Hope the owner changes their management team.
The course is over priced and in terrible condition. I planned a golf tournament and received a voucher for a free foursome. That sounds awesome, except it has to be after 2pm on the weekends. Given the time of year, you cannot get in a round of golf if you tee off after 2 pm. I called and asked if there were any exceptions given that it gets dark at 5:30 and I was promptly told no. This place is a joke.
Greens recently aerated and dressed, some dressed nice some bumpy as bumps
Played on a Church sponsored charity tournament on Saturday the 21st. Really didn't think we would get 18 holes on before the storms, but the weather held out. Course was in great shape. Greens ran fast and had plenty of break, even with the rain.
Great golf course that's well maintained and cared for. Carts available to rent or walk the course. It's often busy, especially the driving range. Drive by from 3pm on and it's packed. Highly recommend!
These people treat customers terrible. On a slow day the Marshall came out and told us to hurry. In a year of playing behind slow terrible players when it's crowded and NEVER seeing a Marshall do this, it is insulting.
This course is average. The greens were bad. Grass everywhere was cut too short everywhere. Need to let it thicken and grow
Greens are in great shape, it's a shame the rest of the course doesn't match. Overpriced for all the weeds and unmowed areas.
A little pricey but a challenging course. Very convenient so I don't mind the extra money spent. Greens are well maintained. They do what is needed to them during the season for maintenance to keep them in good condition. So occasionally through the year you may find the punched and sanded. I expect that. The heavy rains have taken there toll on the bunkers but only on the side slopes. The one thing I would like is that the rains and our clay soils have taken their toll on the cart paths. There are some kidney bouncers out there. All in all. Good to above good golf course.
Looks like maintenance has really been downgraded. Many areas not mowed, not the clean crisp course I remember. Areas along home owners houses not mowed, many areas over watered creating lots of muddy areas that you wade thru, just real disappointing for the money paid.
Good course. Really Friendly workers. Great experience.
fun!
Wy the change for range balls to 5dollars . we Senior may look at other courses....
Always a good round here no matter what the score. The layout is superb. Will be even better once the fairways turns green again
Love this course. Challenging yet wide fairways on most holes. Greens are in great shape.
Had great golf lesson with Bruce Sims!!!
Nicely kept course. Green is very fast especially in the afternoons.
Still too early in the season. Conditions still waking good from winter/spring weather. Nice layout with some good hidden challenges.
Nice golf course, beautiful greens
I always enjoy playing Ridgeview Ranch. course is in good condition and pace was good
Weather was chilly and windy but the course has a great layout. It has some challenging holes but overall it plays medium-hard
The course was in great shape. Fairways and greens were some of the best that I have played on in the metroplex. Might suggest that they cut the rough down some--it would help speed up play and make it easier for mid and high handicappers.
Greens are really fast this time of year but the course was in good shape and people were friendly :)
Pretty good course. Fun to play. In nice shape.
Great course and staff
The course was in great shape, the golf carts were a little on the slow side.
Nice course. Little hilly so walkers beware. Pace of play was not bad. I will go back
Great golf course...great deals.
Have played Ridgeview since it opened...love it! Consider it my go to course. Staff are friendly and fun.
The last six years they have had Mud Traps and filthy bathrooms, they know how to mow grass and luckily it has rained to keep grass green. Must of been a better course before the 2010. Courses have changed ownership several times, I guess that's it.
This course is awesome! Pretty wide open and interesting design overall. The head pro is a class act!
Great course but very slow pace of play , never see a marshall
Like it place be ok good place
Fun to play, challenging holes, variety of elevations, greens roll true!
Tough lay out and great maintenance crew, wish the greens were faster
No cart marshals, everyone that plays decides they can whip it out and pee off the side of the tee box in the Residential neighborhood. The staff has done nothing but put signs up to direct them where to go to the restroom but not put no restroom where we have repeatedly taken pictures and sent them to Mr. Davis! No respect gets zero stars from me. Next stop will be the police for Indecent exposure.
Awesome staff for helping for fundraising
great coarse for the price. we always have a great time. we normally play mid to late afternoon during the week and generally have no problem getting the full eighteen in in 3 hours or so.
A well run public facility that is consistently a great experience.. Friendly staff, challenging layout, good practice facility and 19th hole atmosphere make me want to come back.. A very good value and always a fun outing
Good golf course. Too close to homes so chances of landing the ball in others backyard.
Beàutiful
Great course
We played this course for the first time on Sat., April 26, 2014. It's one of those courses you have to play a couple of times to know where and how far to hit it due to hidden obstacles you can not see from the tee box. Course was in good shape and we teed off right on time. Staff was friendly and the pace was good. I will play this course again!
Nice facility with a challenging layout.
Grass is always in better shape than other local courses...
Fabulous driving range. And nice and beautiful course.
hard course
Nice place to t off
Called this morning to place tee time. When I arrived clubhouse told me tee times are delayed 50 minutes. If they would have told me this when I called 45 minutes earlier we would have played another course due to commitment late afternoon. Pros did not seem to concerned with lack of communication
I wouldn't worry at all about condition. The course is in FABULOUS shape, especially compared to where it once was. The new management has turned what used to be an awesome layout in horrible shape, into a very fun and well maintained track.
Awesome course with a little bit of bumps here and there to go around.
A avergae course at a reasonable price. Bar lacks a little. Likmited selection om gomf balls.
Staff was courteous and the marshals where doing a good job. Some work being done on the greens but they should be in great shape soon. A challenging course at a reasonable price.
54.00 green fee was a joke considering the shape of the greens. Greens appeared to have been punched recently which was a surprise. They were terrible. Played on a Wednesday and the coarse was pretty full. Considering that, you would think they would have had a beverage cart person. We never saw one. Slow play on the the back nine, never did see a Marshall out keeping the pace going. It would have been nice if they would have mentioned the greens being poor while making the tee time.
The view on when im golfing gives perfection
Pros: The course is in great shape with a few challenging holes. Cons: Clubhouse is understated and gas-powered carts (no GPS) are a bit slow. Overall slower pace of play than at other public courses.
Pretty decent course layout, but play was VERY slow for a Sunday, so had to cut the course short by 7 holes. Giving it a 3 star due to only playing 10 and 11 on the back 9
Well maintained greens and fairways.
Great lay out
Love it
Awesome staff.
Course was nice. Worth the money. Carts are slow. Didn't see a cart girl for food or drinks
Awesome place
Beautiful course, horribly managed. 3 hour front nine on Saturday (6/4/16); I quit after nine because the pace of play was so bad, but the rest of my group carried on and wound up carding a nearly 6 HOUR ROUND OF GOLF. Called the clubhouse to ask about getting a marshal out and if they were aware, and was essentially told that that's just what happens when you're playing cart path only, which is a load of crap. The truth is that they sold a crapload of Ideal Golfer coupons and instead of using that to fill in post-noon tee time gaps, they used it as a money grab and squeezed as many people on to the course as they could. It's a shame, because the course was in great shape, and even though the "7 flavors of multi-family housing community" backdrop isn't great, it's a nice course. But it's not worth the $60 green fee the way it's managed.
I had the pleasure of visiting and playing this course several times last week while on a business trip. Contrary to some of the adverse comments about the course, I was pleasantly surprised at the great experience. I met everyone that worked there throughout the week and was treated as an appreciated patron. All of the comments in prior ratings are very misleading. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading them, seeing as I was not from the area. I'm glad I gave it a chance though because it was fantastic. The course was in really good shape, including the quality of the greens. Additionally, the Head Teaching Pro "Bruce Sims" is a phenomenal teacher and a very kind and approachable person. That, you don't find enough of these days. Looking at the responses that were given to the people complaining also speak for themselves. I've never seen that from other locations anywhere. It just shows that the management does appreciate it's customers and satisfaction is a high priority in all areas. I highly recommend this course to anyone either new to the area or passing through. I give it two thumbs up.
Pros: The course is in fantastic shape. Greens are nearly recovered from punching a month ago. Teeboxes are watered and soft. Bunkers recovering from flood. Great fairways. Cons: A few overgrown trees could use some trimming to aid approaches. Driving range has been mats only all summer. Overall: The best course I've played this summer. I've played Watters Creek (close second), Coyote Ridge, Firewheel Old.
This is a great public track, well cared for, always in great condition.
Excellent
Great greens, fair price for 18 holes. Challenging course.
Course was well kept, with just enough of a challenge.
This is well run, well cared for course. The people who work there are very respectful, polite, and friendly.
Well maintained
Course is in great shape and greens are rolling nice and smooth. Tee times are stacked way too close together. Plan at least 5 hours for your round.
I really like this layout. Fairways and greens are in great shape.
I've played over 25 rounds at Ridgeview in the last 12 months so i must like it! The greens are in above average shape for the total rounds that are played there. The layout is fair if not a little open which is good for my game. I bought the Palmer membership and the only two problems i have - the pace of play and the lack of enough carts. I played 16 holes last weekend in 4:50 and had to go. Weekends are typical 4:30-5 hour rounds. The driving range gets filled up because part of the Palmer package is "free range balls". So the members just go out and hit. Great track - too crowded. Good problem for the club to have i guess.
The only reason 2 stars are given is because of the outstanding Food & Beverage team managed by Stacey Castleman. She is a true pro and very customer focused. Roger at the front desk is still awesome as is the new starter and I don't know his name..... My group has been playing at Ridgeview for the past 12 years and are acknowledged as being some of the most regular golfers at this course....not anymore. With the most recent management change everything has headed straight downhill. Pace of Play on the weekends is the worst it has ever been and course management by the Marshall's is horrible. One of my group almost got into a physical confrontation with one of the new guys 2 weeks ago because of his poor attitude and condescending remarks. He told us it was his second day and proceeded to be an expert about everything and told us we were wrong in our complaints and recommendations for better pace of play. We called in to the Pro shop yesterday on #3(#1 handicap on the course) when the group in front of us waited until the group in front of them was on the green before hitting their T-shots. After their consistent 200 yd drives, 2 of the 4-some hit mulligans on their second shots... Marshal came out and told us "it isn't their fault, the group 3 in front of them has 2 guys who have never played"...We waited on every shot on the front and played in 2 hours and 40 minutes.. Our T shots on #10 had us all over the hill and out of site for the group behind us. We were waiting for the group to get off the green in front of us. After the green cleared I hit 5 iron to just in front of the par 5 after my cart partner hit a 240 yd 3 wood to 7 feet...oh yea, we waited so long the guys behind us hit into us with one of their drives actually hitting one of our carts on the roll... Group in front of us again waited on #11(#2 handicap) until the group in front of them was on the green to hit their T shots. We were done....we drove past them and 2 4-somes on #12(a par 3). The group on the green had 2 guys actually sitting down on the green while their playing partners finished putting. 2 4-somes sill in play on #13, the short par 4. 2 different 2-somes on 14 not playing together(great course management on a Saturday) #15 had 2 4-somes both reloading beer coolers from the bevcart as we passed them going to the #16 t-box....16, 17 and 18 were wide open with NO groups. What a horrible day...no Marshall on the back 9 at all....We spoke to to Joe Don, the new GM with no results of any kind. I politely shook Rogers hand and told him it would be a long time before we come back after having this type round for the last 6 visits. Thank Goodness Indian Creek reopens this week!! How about them apples......
Track is in good shape. One green was terrible, but it was a very fun trip. Tight fairways seemed to be the biggest challenge.
Good course great rates
Nice course, well maintained and several interesting holes. Played it early on a Monday morning. 3 hr 15 minutes. Always a pleasure to play in spite of my problems getting a GIR on #11.
Great course in the heart of Plano. Very hilly for a Texas course.
Great Course and extremely professional staff. One of my top 5 favorite course. Be careful on hole 4. Aim to hit on your left over the trees .. lot of open space.
Staff members are not so polite...
