We have the opinions of real people who purchased the services of BlackHorse Golf Club (Golf) in the area close to Texas.
Currently the firm has a rating of 4.4 over 5 and that score is based on 268 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is quite good, and it's founded on a large number of reviews, so we may say that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Golf is included in the category of Golf course.
We golf here regularly. This course has recovered very well after Harvey and is still the premier course in the NW side of Houston. North is a little longer and more wide open, south is shorter but tighter. Beautiful holes on both 18s though. First Tee for the kids makes this place even better. They run a great program and gets the younger generation golfing and understanding how to respect the game.
Organized an professional
This place sucks...period
Great food at private party.
Beautiful course
Great golf course. Not sure it should have been opened on rainy days but that was my fault I suppose. Greens are beautiful and fairways are cut well.
Beautiful golf course near my area
Wonderful, family lives in gated community.
Great golf club. Get there early because it gets busy.
Love this course
Played the North Course and found it in good condition. The greens are in great shape and rolled true. Had lunch at the bar and the fresh made tuna sandwich was very good and reasonably priced.
The food is good but the service is very mediocre it's always a hit and miss
Works like a charm but I wish it would give us updates on construction and road closures not to mention warning us when police are ahead
BlackHorse Golf Club is home to two 18-hole courses, the more open North course and more tree-lined South course. Both these well-rated and pleasantly testing championship layouts are Peter Jacobsen & Jim Hardy designs.
These tree-lined and open parkland layouts should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Worth including on your play list if you are in the area.
An excellent golf course to organize our anual tournament, a first class service, beautiful facilities and accessible to reach. We highly recommend BlackHorse Golf Club!
Played the Black Horse course on May 14, 2017. The layout is great, but the course is in terrible condition. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were just aerated. The was very little grass on the tee boxes and fairways. Felt like hitting off hard pan all day. They did give us a voucher for a free round when we checked in.
Overbooking! Too Slow to play
Yes they is a gastation a parking spot
One of my favorites courses. Quality facility.
This place has nice Golf Course and putting range.
Great course and very green.
Very nice range
Everything is nice here.
Fantastic course. Challenging but very playable and the conditions were nearly perfect.
Nice course
A little overpriced for the condition that it's in, but apparently it's a great deal for members...Probably the only reason I play here is because I have friends that are members here.
I've been a member over two years. Great courses and outstanding staff
Great couple of courses, very challenging
Played the South course for the first time. Very scenic layout.. Deep bunkers, long par 3s.. Tree line fairways. Lots of fun.. Its a must play if you come down to Houston
Two great golf courses and excellent staff.
Beautiful place
Course was in average condition at best
I played in the south course with my collegue on Saturday morning. Not so crowded. Course is well maintained, but some greens are not so. (Maybe due to in summertime.)
Awesome! A+++ club, good pace of play, friendly staff.
Cool place for golf. Some club, but very nice landscaping.
The course is recovering well although the Pro Shop is still being renovated.
Wonderful place to have an event. Folks were super helpful and pleasant. Everyone had a nice time!
It's ok
Early Sunday afternoon, wife and I went to hit a bucket of balls...get to driving range and no balls!,,, waited over 45 minutes still nothing. Left and spent our money elsewhere.
North course was in excellent shape today. Greens were consistent. Bunkers were different [sand and depth], but hey - you're supposed to avoid the bunkers.
Played in a tournament here on the “south” course. Course was in excellent shape, greens were very well maintained, and the course is beautiful. Would recommend and absolutely play again
Very well maintained. Professional and courteous staff goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need for a great time.
Great course
Well maintained track. Not crazy about the four holes that double back on each other on the backside of the North course, but always in great shape...except the bunkers which I'm sure are being redone due to hurricane harvey.
Great condition, and while it does get crowded from time to time, the staff is friendly and
Beautiful course and great cafe.
Lots of tournaments affect ease of playing the courses.
Pretty course! We were not able to finish round due to weather
Excellent place to hold a quick meeting. Haven’t played the course yet though.
Love the weekend brunch!!!
Nice golf course...
South course is in great condition.
Two great golf courses at BlackHorse: The north & The south. The south is more challenging but the last 5 holes are unique for Houston golf courses - with forced carries and beautiful scenery as you play over and around the Sand Quarry. Just beautiful. Always have knowledgeable golf pros working in the clubhouse; that can give you tips and warn you where not to hit it if it is the first time you are playing there, Jake Saladin is the man for taking lessons at Blackhorse.
When you're at one of the premiere courses in Houston, you must try the clubhouse. If you get there early enough before teeing off, fill up on their omletes or breakfast tacos. For lunch, I highly recommend Jake's burger or the Cobb salad. Prices are very reasonable and the clubhouse is in an outstanding setting. Treat yourself and your buddies. The courses are outstanding and so is the clubhouse.
What a great course. Both North and South courses are beautiful and worth the cost to tee up!
Nice, clean course. Staff are great.
The First Tee program helped my son love golf
Always in good condition love the south course but north is good to
My favorite fold club in Houston.
This is a great venue challenging course but well kept and worth the green fees
Great track had a lot of fun playing the north course.
Course was in ok shape considering it's Winter. All though the bunkers we're not good. Perhaps they are recovering from water damage I don't know. Greens ran slow and grainy some better than others.
Very nice course, although it has flooded a lot lately.
Just a beautiful course. Not crazy long, but challenging. The greens rolled perfectly; were a tad slow when I played, but it had rained the day prior. Worth the price
This golf course has two different options North Course South course. Both have their equal challenging holes. I played the South course today greens are in excellent shape after being punched just a couple weeks ago. Staff is friendly they have good food at the 19th hole. The North Course was having greens punched on June 21st 2017 in case you were thinking about playing that course soon.
Nice course
Lush course. Well maintained.
Good course
Very nice golf course
Great course to play anytime. Nice layout and pace of play.
Fun course!
The restaurant there is great. Most people don't know it's open to the public. Very quiet and excellent food and moderately priced
In great shape
The greeting was sour seemed like you don't have a choice what course to play they will put your group with coupon on the south course.
It's getting too old
Played the South course. Really enjoyed it. For someone who does not play consistently, it was just the right difficulty level.
The staff is great
A golf course too pricey for the conditions
Over the last 10 years I have played at least 90% of my rounds here as I live nearby and my dad is a member. From outside guest service to pro shop to starters to the girls in the grill, the staff is friendly with great personality. The North Course is straightforward and the South Course has a little bit more character and decisions to be made. But both courses are always in great shape and the greens are always fantastic. We can usually get around either course in less than 4 hours! One of the best public courses (#1 in my opinion) in the Houston area.
Every body is very nice. The coarse is in very good shape the greens are in great shape all the bunkers are being rebuilt due to flooding
Very nice place that what I saw did not go in but it Golf and look like it could take your money and leave you happy
Great golf course. Good condition for this time of year.
Great place to play. Enjoyed it immensely.
Very nice place!
I'm very good condition considering the flooding the had. Greens are a little slow since the aren't cutting the very close, all traps are ground under repair. Free drops!!!
Always good food and super friendly staff!
This is a beautiful course that provides and provokes the challenge to anyone who steps up to take on the course. The staff is very helpful and polite and the pro on the course is always on hand to give you helpful insight to any question about your game or the course.
Very well kept golf courses, lots of character, I've played both courses, and I like them, North and South. Oh! very challenging
Loved this course. Played the North course. The staff was amazing, very friendly and attentive. Alresdy looking forward to another round here!
Best public course in Northwest part of town.
Always in great conditions, especially the greens.
Nice course and good food in the clubhouse
Totally awesome great staff and well cared for grounds highly recomend
Best club for golfing with friends
Very good golf club. One of the better ones in Houston.
Love both courses.
Nice and clean
Beautiful course. It was fun and challenging.
Great courses
For Jamie's Hope- the grounds are gorgeous
Okay course, Kinda pricey. Not much in the way of customer service on the course. Didn't have my usual cocktails after the round as a result. Play it and judge for yourself.
Beautiful course and fun to play.
Played the south course today. Greens are in great shape. Lots of rain over the last couple days made for some holes being dumped with some junk but still a great track. My buddies and I prefer the north course but both are great. Great customer service and yummy food at the 19th hole
It rained when we went but it was still a nice course. There are two courses to play on. A north and a south course. We played 9 holes on the south course before getting a rain check on the remaining 9 due to weather. The only downside is that this place is pretty pricey. Some of the courses are just as good and not so expensive. Awesome club house and the customer service is on point.
Nice course. However not for the beginner as it will cost you quite a few golf balls due to lots of water and overgrown tree line.
Great course!
Great challenging course
Enjoyed round with my son yesterday and like Blackhorse but the course should be in better shape for an $88 round. Bunkers were not in play, I should have been told that when I made the tee time also maintenance seemed to be at every green we came up to, a little annoying.
Having 2 courses to choose from, North course and South course, makes it convenient. Course is well maintained, awesome greens.
Beautiful course
Nice place for kids & adults to learn professional golf.
Top notch track. Love the south course have I have not played the north course but I'm looking forward to it. Played in tournament here and everything was flawless
Very nice golf course and driving range. It is very well kept up and managed with a super friendly staff.
Food is always so good! Ambiance and service is impeccable! You are never rushed to finish up and get out! ❤️ it!!
Great outing
Played before a tournament so had to play quickly but the course was in really good shape even right after the floods. Fairways were like carpet and the greens were perfect. Made for a great day of golf.
Great restaurant for nice quiet breakfast.
Top notch course. Lots of fun.
I take lessons from Jake at MOD. Great instructor!
Beautiful course - plenty of water and hazards. Staff is very friendly and can play a reasonable replay rate for the other 18 holes.
South course is so scenic! Wow. Twilight price is the best way to go when the time springs forward.
I've now played both the North and South courses at Black Horse, and will give them a good solid 4 stars. The courses are very well kept, clubhouse clean and well maintained, range balls included in greens fee, staff are friendly, and beer cart comes around frequently enough ;-). Both courses are fun, though lots of water on the south course, bring extra balls if you tend to go to the right! So why only 4 stars? I think the green fees were a little high, even though it was a Saturday morning, so it's a value thing. But all in all, I will gladly add BH to the rotation ... I would recommend playing BH if you get the chance!
Great golf course. Friendly enough people. For hosting a child's golf skills class, they could be a little more family friendly.
Great course. Not too crowded.
Impressive golf club
Good
During my last round at CW one of the guys I was paired with said I needed to try Blackhorse GC, that it was the best course that was close to me. So I decided to give it a try. Boy was he right!! On 7/2, as I was driving up to the club house at 7:30 am, the first thing that stuck out to me was the course maintenance. People were mowing the fairways and raking the traps. I know this shouldn't be a big thing, but I have never seen, not once, a person rake the traps at the other courses I've played. So, BH immediately had 1 star before I even parked my truck. As I looked around at the facilities, I walked over to the driving range to see how it looked. It is by far the best I've seen in the area. It is a top notch facility, which is included in the green fees. Thus another star for BH. From here I made my way in to the club house , but stopped to admire the golf carts which had pillow style seats. You can tell these were not your typical beat up golf carts. Another plus. As I made way in to the clubhouse I was immediately greeted by the gentlemen by the counter with a friendly smile. BH has a great looking clubhouse with a lot to offer. I told the man I was new to the area and wanted to try the course. He said sure and said he prefers the south course although both are top notch and proceeded to describe the two courses to me. Another star for customer service and making a great first impression. Now for the course. As I stated before I absolutely love Cypresswood, and after playing the south course it had the same theme. From the Black Tips, you need to be very accurate off the tee. The fairways are narrow and I found myself most of the time in the first cut only hitting 7 fairways. The fairways are perfect and well taken care of. They were soft enough for irons to easily take a divot but firm enough to allow for balls to roll down the fairway. The greens were just as impressive. They were large greens that were receptive to approach shots, even log irons/hybrids. Playing from the tips, I had a few 200 yard approach shots, as well as long par 3s. In the morning they weren't rolling fast which is expected with the morning dew, but they became firmer and a little faster towards the end of the round. If I had to guess I would say they were rolling about an 8 to 9. All in all I was very happy with all aspects of this course and walking away with a 76 made it even more enjoyable. If your looking for a 5 Star course that delivers on customer service, course quality while challenging your game and course management skills, look no further. Thanks Blackhorse for such a memorable round of golf.
Great course in the cypress area with two 18 hole courses. Its almost always kept in great condition. I prefer the south course layout but both north and south are challenging and fun. Can be a little more expensive than other surrounding courses but if you can get a deal it’s definitely my first option.
Fun fun
Great course. Top notch.
Me my dad are members at Blackhorse and it’s so fun to go golfing there and once to get to know the staff they are so nice member what you what you love to drink
Very nice course Fairways are plush greens rolling good on the south course
As long as there isn't a tournament going on it's great.
Great facilities and nice course!
Work work work
Family fun for weekends!
