This is only my second TN course I've visited since moving here, so my perspective is comparing to Florida's flat courses.
Aesthetics: 4/5 The layout is beautiful, but I'm still in awe over the changes in elevation that's normal up here. But the tee markers are really nice, the paths are obvious, the clubhouse setting is beautiful.
Course play: 5/5 Lots of different looks without feeling like they were being cliche. Keep the ball in play and the course is scorable, even for a 20-handicapper like me. Start spraying balls and it gets ugly quick, as it should.
Condition: 4/5 Greens and tee boxes were in GREAT shape (played in mid-May). Fairways, not so much. Quite a bit of disease, but it's obvious they are reparing it, so I couldn't take off more than one star.
Amenities: 3/5 Basically there are none. There's a bare-bones pro-shop and no sandwiches or hot dogs at all. Just some a la carte snacks and a couple of coolers of drinks. Pretty disappointed at that. I didn't use the range or practice greens so have no opinion.
Value: 4/5. Not a cheap 18 hole round when I played. Not too expensive, either. I would say you are paying for no-frills golf. The course is in such good shape and there is evidence of work being down around it so I get the feeling that investment from the profits go into the course, not the "other stuff".
Overall, if you don't care about the other stuff, you just want to play a fun round on a quality course, then I can't see how you would be disappointed.
I will certainly be coming back.
Sidenote: I felt like Bubba Watson out here. I measured 5 drives between 300-355 yards. I know it is mostly the elevation changes but man that's fun.
