Me and my father in law went and played this course over all the course is in decent shape not an overly challenging course especially if you can hit a driver well. On the down side the cart paths needed up keep there is no refreshment cart, not even on the weekend, and the staff was horrible. For starters we stopped at the club house on the turn to get something to drink this was at 11:00am on a Saturday the doors were still locked to the restaurant area and the worker in charge just stood behind the bar looking at us as we walked up and tried to pull the door open, when we cut threw the pro shop the manager says she's in there I don't know why the door is locked but doesn't go and address the cituation. Then we are playing on the back nine the landscaping crew decides it's time to cut the grass on the course, mind you this is on a Saturday during prime golfing season. We stood in the tee box for 5-10 min and they still didn't cut off the mowers on the big toe behind blower they were decent enough to move out of the way. Oh and this wasn't just on 1 hole this started on the 14th tee box and continued till we holed out on the 17th green. At the end of the round I went back into the pro shop to address my concern with the manager and was kinda hushed and told "well they have a lot of work to get done" to which I replied I understand but don't you think the grass should've been cut before the weekend or they could at least have the courtesy of turning the equipment off while people who are paying to golf your course are playing? The manager made no attempt to rectify the cituation. Needless to say we are not going back there any time soon. There are too many other courses in the area that are nicer with more accommodating staff.

Rude Pro Shop staff. The course does not employ a starter, leaving us to fend for ourselves. Much of course under construction, the rest is in awful condition. Teeboxes, fairways, and roughs alike hard as concrete. Speaking of concrete: broken cart path pavement made it look like a warzone. Overpriced, understaffed. It was so bad that it was good: we loved it! 11/10!

It's a great price to play Pinecrest. The fairways were very hard in February, but that is understandable for the winter. The teeboxes were in pretty rough shape. The course is very nice, with lots of water and two great finishing holes on both nines. I recommend you play during the warmer months of South Carolina.

Course was in good condition. Greens rolled great, bunkers were more mud than sand, but if you stayed in the fairway, it was not an issue! Enjoyed the course and felt it was a good overall value.

Acceptable but not great. The location of the course is amazing! However I am very disappointed in the condition is the course. There were a number of tee boxes and greens that had large mud spots. However, I will say that the staff was very nice and I cannot stress enough that the course location is beautiful. However, the quality of the course is suffering. Thank you, Jackson Welch

I am sorry to give this a low rating, and it may seem trite to dwell on what may be an insignificant issue, but the restroom facilities are abysmal at this course. There is, it seems only one "restroom", which is a 'Johnny on the Spot' and which is, at its best, pretty disgusting. My sister used it last time we played, and someone had apparently vomited into the urinal. A golf course of this calibre should provide for the basic necessities. Please, please think about your players!

Nice course, had some interesting holes and very fair. Gives you a good chance to score with a decent drive. Both water and trees on your left and right. Would be 5 stars if they hadn’t just airated the greens 3 weeks ago. In 2-3 weeks should be great. Very friendly staff, Would recommend it to anyone. Early morning special price for dew sweepers. The Pinecrest Golf Club in Bluffton SC opened for play in 2004 and was designed by Rocky Roquemore, best known for his designs at Cannongate Golf Club in GA and several of the Disney courses in Orlando, FL. Pinecrest is owned and operated by Brown Golf Management who purchased the club on March 10, 2011 and opened it up for public play. The course is known for having a stunning and scenic layout and plays its way through strands of tall pines and around several beautiful lakes. Water comes into play on about 15 holes with number 9 being the only forced carry over water off the tee, although not a very long carry at that. Sand bunkers pose more of a threat to your scorecard, especially off the tee. Every non-par 3 hole has at least one bunker on the edge of the fairway in the landing zone; par 5s have been strategically fortified with a second set of bunkers in the layup landing area, although they always seem to be on the periphery of the fairway. Greens are also well protected, with many of them being elevated. Speaking of greens, Pinecrest’s are large and roll true; if you want to score well, best to not leave yourself a lot of long putts. Most Memorable Hole: Number 11. The course’s second hardest hole is a par 5 that plays 500 yards from the White Tees and requires an accurate tee shot due to the water on each side. You’ll want to use the left side of the fairway on your layup but be sure to avoid the fairway bunkers over there and be careful of the water that juts out half way into the fairway. These bunkers should not come into play. From here you’ll have a short pitch shot into an offset green. Three good shots and you can conquer this hole. The practice area at Pinecrest is second to none and could very well be the best public access practice facility in the Bluffton area. There’s a double-sided range, two large putting greens and a separate chipping green to hone your game. If you’re still having trouble, check in at the pro shop and sign up for a lesson with one of their PGA professional staff. After your round, stop by the 9 Iron Restaurant located in the clubhouse. They feature excellent food at reasonable prices, including fresh sandwiches, soups, salads and daily chef's specials. The jumbo Reuben is one of a kind or, if you’re looking for something a little lighter, try their cranberry-almond salad. No matter what you’re hungry for, odds are you’ll find it here, as well as your favorite after golf beverage. Brown Golf has some incredible membership opportunities available which are particularly attractive to those in the Bluffton area. A single membership includes unlimited golf at 7 local courses as well as reciprocals at all other Brown Golf Facilities around the country. You’ll also receive access to the practice facilities and unlimited range balls as well as complimentary golf lessons from PGA professionals. That alone is worth the monthly dues.
