Back in the day, this was one of my favorite courses until it fell into disrepair. Now, under new ownership, it's looking to return to it's old form. Tee boxes have been re-built, moved or re-leveled. Bunkers have been cleaned. There are even a few new bunkers here and there. It still needs some TLC along with contour mowing, ball washers, drinking water, etc. but you can see the potential. I played it quite a bit towards the tail end of last season and I'm looking forward to it re-opening this season. As of April 20th, 2018, it was still not open. Hope it opens soon.

Good track for the money. Needs some work and this will be a nice course. Club house looks real nice.

Played Hazelton today and it brought back many memories when I used to play it when it was called Sun Valley. It was still fun and there have been some major improvements while there is still much to do in order to bring this course to the high level of play it can be. First thing you notice when arriving is that a new clubhouse is under construction, although it has a ways to go before it is completed. It will be very nice when done. The dirt road and parking lot are not the impression of a high end course when you drive in and will need to be paved and spruced up to be a more welcoming and better presentation. The greens have been enlarged and are in very nice shape. I found them to be receptive to incoming shots but a little on the slow side. Cut down and you could have your hands full. The bunkers have some of the best sand of all the public courses I play. Truly, a player must hit correct bunker shots to get out. Unfortunately, the fairways are the part of the course that will require considerable more work to make this a top tier course. All in all, for $40 , including cart, this was a good deal. Hit'm straight.

The clubhouse is a work in progress. No hot food service or bathrooms. Cold beverages in coolers. Portable bathrooms. The course is in the process of fixing drainage problems, but the rain this season has many areas where golf carts and mowing equipment cannot access. The front is worse then back nine! The greens are excellent! The traps are also very good. The clubhouse should be fully functional by August or September (estimate). The course should improve slowly with the work needed to fix the drainage problems. I still enjoyed playing the course. By next year it should be in excellent condition. The management and the golf course maintenance crew are working hard to this course back in shape.

David Purdy

The course has seen great improvement over this season. The clubhouse should be complete by the Spring. Going to be Great.

Layout of course is nice, tee boxes and greens are almost perfect. They are working on this course to make it great and so far it looks awesome. Don't miss this one!!

Ernie Harris

Greens are fantastic, the rest needs some help. In their defense, they are working on it. Perhaps next year.

I cannot in good conscience even give this track one star! However I cannot post my comment without checking at least one. It is that horrible. They should be ashamed to take money to play this place. If you are looking for a nice place to play a round of golf. Go elsewhere. Absolutely deplorable conditions! The outhouses in the parking lot are just the beginning of the horrible experience! Every hole is absurdly unplayable!

Newly renovated tees and green complexes, new bunkers, new irrigation system, new golf carts, usable restrooms. Inexpensive, great for knocking some balls around with some friends, and having a good time taking it easy. Long holes and some tricky doglegs makes this one for good replayability. They have a very small staff to maintain, but it just helps keep costs down for us average joe's just looking for an afternoon of knocking around some balls, without breaking the bank. Crestwood golf course is right next door managed by the same team if you're looking for something different. Secluded and fun, I say take a swing at it!

The greens were superb

Played 7/20/18. The initial impression of the course is that the "clubhouse" is little more than a shack. If this is an improved version of the course then I'm glad I didn't play it before. Generally, the facility is unkept. The fairway grass was uneven making it somewhat difficult to find the ball, dead trees both standing and lying down, all of the trees have a 10' circle of weeks around the base, the stream that flows through the course is flanked by a few feet of weeds so anything hit near it results in a lost ball. The fairways are not burnt, but as noted previously, uneven in terms of grass height and grass type. The layout is confusing and the tee boxes don't have signs indicating the hole # so I ended up not playing 8 & 9 but played 17 & 18 twice. The greens are in very good shape and consistent, although quite firm so you need to play short. Tee boxes are OK. It's fairly long and has some challenging holes, so it could be a nice course if it were cleaned up. With so many better options in the area I will not play here again.

Nice greens ,needs signs for holes,,Porta potties only

Mike Monte

The bent grass greens are a pleasure to put on, and after years of neglect you can see what this course could once again be. The ownership and staff are to be congratulated for their effort to bring this course back from the brink. I look forward to watching the transformation continue.

1st class greens & tee boxes. Their putting in a lot work with dressing up green side bunkers. In short a challenging layout. Once they get fairways in order look out. Can't beat the price

I had not played here since it was called sun valley, 15/20 yrs ago. The course is much better, the greens are very good, the club house under major reconstruction. In the near future this course will be very challenging.

Jack Reardon

It was great. The tee boxes, greens a d bunkers are in fantastic shape. The Democrats need to dry it from the spring rains. The club house is close to finished. This is going to be a great spot.

This course is on its way back, slowly but surely. The greens are new and they are terrific. The bunkers are nice again and the fairways are taking shape - they are actually cutting a fairway and leaving some rough! The tees still need attention, but that's the least important thing to me. The clubhouse is really shaping up and I saw a troublesome fairway getting the drainage system it always needed, so I know these owners are serious about this place. Charlie and company are doing a great job, give the place a try!

Michael Letourneau

Great golf course with great rates and nice people!

Joe Poillucci

David Hartshorn

Unbelievable course Who cares if it’s under construction The greens look amazing today better than some courses with five stars on here show some love go check it out

Robert Sierdy

James Thomson

The place is a diamond in the rough. Un s couple years it will be the place to go. The greens roll true and the fairways give good lies. Can't wait to play again.
