We were only able to play 5 holes due to thunder storms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The tee boxes were in pretty tough shape and the greens were covered with in-repaired ball marks. I can imagine how difficult it must be to …
We played at Makefield Highlands for the first time this week and we are looking forward to our next visit as soon as possible. The course was beautiful! The staff in the Pro Shop was great. We had a drink and a few appetizers at Makefield’s Public House, all of which were very good. A great experience!
Beautiful course that is very well maintained. Playable for all skill levels. Pro Shop and restaurant employees are friendly and professional. Don't let the angry female starter/ranger spoil your round or the impression of the rest of the …
Awesome lynx course that is fun to play!
Beautiful course, love playing there, however, Non resident rates are wayyyy to expensive. Would play here every week if it were more affordable
Makefield Highlands is provably the best public golf course in the Bucks / Montgomery County Area. The course is a real challenge from the Blue Tees, and a blast to play from the Whites. The course has a couple short Par 4s that invite risky drives, as well as a monster Par 5 stretching nearly 600 yards. The Par 3s are all challenging and take serious focus to avoid making bogey or worse. This is a great, links style course that everyone in the area should enjoy!
Great course it mixes difficult holes with easy one so it makes you feel you still have a chance of playing better after a bad hole. Also a course where you need to think a lot. Great greens and the staff treats you really well.
Expensive
One of the best golf courses in the area. Conditions are always in good shape. It can get backed up at times. Good staff at the Pro shop and starter.
Pro shop staff and Starter provided welcoming and friendly level of customer service. Course was in decent condition given the recent bout of wet weather.
Great course and the winter rates are unbelievable.
Great public/municable course
Beautiful and challenging. No trees just high grass. Deceptively narrower than it appears. Really well maintained.
Course was in great shape ! Staff was friendly and helpful !
Great course! First recommendation.
Nice public course, in border of NJ/PA. Medium difficulty, really nice course personnel.
Beautiful course in great shape. Very challenging and definitely picturesque. Course marshals pushed way to hard for a weekday morning that was not crowded, to the point of feeling totally rushed and very uncomfortable by the end of the round.
Good big club. Could spend all day here
Excellent public course.
A hidden gem for sure! Course was in pristine condition and the greens were fantastic. The course made you think on every shot requiring you to use a variety of clubs off the tee and on your approach. Can’t wait to play it again!
Great golf course.
Nice layout. Fun course to play.
Best golf course in the area
Went there for the 1st time for the advertised Party on the Patio. We left. There was no organization, no host or hostess, no service or tell of what end was up. If you weren't already aware of the lay of the land you were an outsider. Shame considering the rest of the grounds look great - would have liked to get to enjoy better.
Nice layout greens not always in the best shpe
Great greens and very nice staff
Great course, in great condition. Clubhouse is nicely, politely lame. Bartenders and staff very nice.
New to the area.....love this course. Just wish the players would do a better job of repairing their ball marks on the greens. I am routinely repairing 2-3 ball marks on nearly every green.
Surprisingly crowded for a Monday. Course in great shape. Greens slightly slower but understand with the recent heat. Only thing we were not informed we had to be off by 5pm for an 18 league. If they are going to give 12:30 tee time then they have to monitor pace of play. We waited from 2nd hole on. All in all. Good experience
Best public course in the area. Good food inside, also!
County owned, but an awesome track !
Best public course in the area. And the food and beer selection is great, too!!!
Excellent place for beginners. I highly recommend the Get Golf Ready program.
The practice facility is fantastic, I didn't play golf
Very nice course. Great layout and nice views.
Course is in good shape, layout is nice, but over priced.
Great public course. Highly recommend.
Outstanding golf course. One of the best I’ve ever played.
Very nice facility. Extremely friendly staff
Nice staff good course
Love the golf course and the staff is great . Almost forgot they have a real nice pro shop
My husband & I have been playing this course for five years. We have noticed a dramatic change in the course maintenance, condition of the greens, tee boxes ,and fairwayt digits not being filled. There used to be a rewards program related to money spent for food and golf fees last year. However, there is none this year, the fees have been increased for golf and the course conditions are worse than previous years.
Great course!
Good course. Not too easy not too hard. Well maintained. Not overbooked. Good food after round
Nice links style course with well kept greens and fairways.
Great public golf. Perfect for parties!
Great public course..
Great course to play
To start we got off late. Had a 10:50 start got off at 11:00. We had a group hit into use as we were finding our one ball off the side of fairway. We got yelled at they we where taking to long when and need to speed up. Stop to get a dog and beer after 9th before going back out and got yelled at that we where taking to long for a second time. Could not find the 10th by their signs. Then was told that only 5 people where on the curse.
Nicest public course I've played in PA. Only negative was the bunkers..some had deep sand, others were thin..making it difficult to adjust..other than that...beautiful challenging layout.
gracious staff. solid track
went for happy hour on the patio. great food at great prices. they need more wait staff to accommodate the number of people. definitely going back again soon.
Few greena revealed black pads and green condition was not satisfactory. They charged $73 and definitively it was NOT worth it
A nice, public course to play on. Very respectful to their regular customers.
Nice public course. In good shape for this time of year. Aerated greens were a little rough. Good value for off season rates and twilight.
We're not golfers but we decided to try the Public House restaurant on the grounds. They have potential: there a decent lunch menu, offering a Philly style roast pork sandwich. It's not up to Dinic's at the Reading Market, but it's good. A selection of beers included Stella, Goose Island IPAand more. They say they have small sharing plates after 4pm. The setting is peaceful, being right in the middle of the golf course, with plenty of parking. Worth a try.
nice golf course
Great condition tee to green. A real test, fair but will test all your game.
Great local course they keep it on n top shape.
Excellent well-maintained course! Had a lot of fun and fairly challenging!
It's looks nice but maybe i went at the wrong time. Not do much a Happy hour as a golf banquet feel
Awesome course. Well maintained and great layout. A few quirks but overall a really quality golf experience.
Nice local course Good bar, so-so food.
A well run golf course with a nice practice facility.
Clean facility, nice
Course well maintained. Friendly people, nice bar/lounge. Great teaching pros.
Great course that will fest your skills. I assure you that you will use every club in your bag. Good bar and food with friendly wait staff. A must try for golf and food afterwards.
Great links
awesome golf course will definitely be back. very challenging.
Got a round in the day before the weekend 36 hole club championship flights. The course is in great shape and the greens have been speeded up. That is going to be an adjustment for us for sure. The staff is friendly as always.
Very nice
May, 2019. The restaurant has a new Chef and menu. Everything was excellent.
Conditions were pretty bad for the price.
My favorite public course in the suburbs north/east of Philly. It's a little pricey but it's a great course and it's kept in great condition always. It's also the ideal course for beginners or amateurs since it's open and there's not many trees. The openness makes it beautiful too. Highly recommend this course to those who haven't been !
A little pricey, but I like this place a lot.
Great pro shop and bar complimenting a challenging course.
Yummy food
Love the place. Beautiful views, nice staff. Limited menu but what is offered is very good.
Fine course layout. Bring your A game. GREAT BAR TENDER ( Tom). Very enjoyable facility
Good condition. Well maintained. Bit pricey. But I'll mannered waitress.
Challenging, fast greens.
For the price, this is the best maintained course in the area. Having hosted a U.S. Open qualifier a couple of years ago, the course still feels and plays like a Championship course. Best fairways in the region, and the greens are always pure, and putts run true every time. Rough (when I played) was as expected...U.S. Open rough. So keep it in the short grass, and this course won't disappoint. My favorite course of the area.
Terrific test for the best, still plays fair for the weekend golfer.
Great layout in good condition. Good bar and pro shop. Reasonably priced
Great golf course and experience. Really open but the fairways have a lot of movement so you dont often get an easy shot. Pace of play was pretty solid besides a little backup on the back 9 with a short par 4 followed by a par 3, but besides that we werent waiting to shoot at all. If your in the philly area I reccomend checking this course out.
We braved the cold. The only foursome on the course! Greens were amazingly good. A bit expensive for frigid golf, but we're not locals. Thanks to the bar for heating up some chili.
Water hazards are great. Loved This course.
This is a great place to have an event in the outside tent or inside. It's also fantastic Golf Course and Pub for that quick meal as well. Really love being here
Well designed and well maintained golf course. Very enjoyable and walkable scenic course.
Hosted a bridal shower in the tent. Everything was perfect! Alex was so wonderful and accommodating as we planned the event. Couldn't have asked for a better day!!! An extra bonus was the guys were able to golf during the shower.
This is the BEST course in bucks county. Incredible layout and difficulty. Water coolers every few holes. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Fantastic tap selection, full bar, and an impressive food menu. Even if you're just looking for a hot dog at the turn...they are killer. Special shout to Greg the food and service manager, always 5 star service. An absolute must if you are golfing in the tri-county area.
In perfect condition and the ranger keeps things moving!
Great course that challenges.
A+ public course
My entire family loves playing golf at Makefield Highlands. It's a great course for all levels of play and we enjoy having dinner on the scenic deck when the round is over. If you're looking to improve your game, I highly recommend …
Great layout. Use every club in your bag. Off season prices are very good.
Nice course, challenging back nine
I would give 5 stars if only the prices were not so wallet-unfriendly. Greens fees top out at $80 for peak times and even expensive Mon-Thurs which is unfortunate (usually $55 with cart). Forces me to play afternoons and weekdays to enjoy this really well designed and kept course. You can tell that a lot of thought and creativity went into design here. Every hole is unique and offers risk-reward challenges. I think the various tees offer a wide range of challenge for all handicaps and the links style layout makes it very accessible and fun for all. The most impressive part is how well it is maintained and i believe that is what youre mainly paying for. Each hole is kept up very well from tee to green. Very meticulous
Greens & tee boxes are in terrible shape. Crab grass all over the course. Did they change maintenance companies recently?
Good course layout, fairways in good condition, greens are inconsistent quality
Great looking course. Well kept. Didn't see a hotdog cart
Great course. Challenging but enjoyable.
When you drive on property you are hit with long grasses and beautiful rolling fairways. Everything is great until you clear the club house. Range balls are broken, matts are worn, greens were in awful shape, starter was a bit snippy and the pace of play was very slow (for a Thursday). The course was fun and they have great holes but for $75 on a weekday, the price is NOT WORTH IT! Greens were awful!
We'll kept challenging course
Great course but, rangers were aggressive and impolite as the attempted to improve pace of play. Plus it was very disheartening for our group of 20 some golfers to finish our round and find that kitchen was closed on a Saturday due to a non golf related event. A course more in touch with its business may of told us ahead of time that the kitchen would be closed. We could have booked a different date.
Nice and challenging course. Good luck finding the ball in the weeds.
Great staff, always well kept course and practice facility
I play with 10+ other golfers at least twice a week . We play about 10 diff courses. Makefield is in worse condition than any other course we play.
Very beautiful and decent size Golf Course
Challenging course. Consistently in good shape. Friendly staff. Good practice area.
In great shape.
Great course, just a little too expensive.
The staff provided outstanding service.
I played the course TODAY with 3 friends. Don't know how anyone could have a negative comment about the condition of the course or the staff..... BOTH WERE GREAT. I only played this course one other time in the end of June 2016. I waited to see if my GREAT experience was not normal. I and all the others in our foursome think the place is GREAT. Some people just have to complain..... PERIOD Play it you will like it and the staff.
A great public course with good practice facilities, ample pro shop and good restaurant.
Great conditions, challenging course. Love playing here
Friendly staff, great rates.
I really like this golf course. One of my favorites in the Lower Bucks County area. The Nine & Dine is lots of fun, too.
Had a 7:21 am tee time yesterday on July 3. I approached the first tee at 7:20 only to get yelled at by the starter that we are late and that the other two golfers were 3/4 finished with the first hole. I said, we are on time and you let the other two golfers off early so how is that our fault?? He replied, get on the tee and let’s go very nasty. I’ve played here many times before and had issues with other personal in the food and beverage department as well. It seems Makefield needs to teach a course in customer service to there staff. You pay $71 to play, you should at least get treated as a guest at someone’s house. It seems the inmates run the asylum. With so many great courses in the surrounding area, I will not be playing here ever again and not recommend this course to anyone.
I have yet to play the course, but i do like to use the practice facility in the evenings. They have a solid putting green and a decent pitching area.
Best golf in the area. Course is in great shape. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Definitely my favorite.
The course is always in good shape.
My favorite golf course in the area! I love it here. Excellent practice facility as well
I don’t normally write reviews but just have to say what kind of experience I had. For $80 a round I was expecting the greens to be in better shape. Very bumpy, tons of unrepaired ball marks that you could tell were from previous day. Fairways were a little dry in some areas which is surprising with the amount of rain we have had. Finally I must say that although the course rangers were not rude but we were asked to hurry up by four different rangers. Although our group finished within the time that was rated by the scoring card. Almost lost a club because I was so concerned to speed up. I will say I do like the course design and it was a good challenge but I drove an hour away to check this place out and sadly I will not return or recommend.
Great layout. Hilly links. Good combination of long, medium and short holes. Conditions excellent. Amenities excellent.
The food is excellent, the kitchen staff is very accommodating. Banquets are always run so smoothly and look fabulous
Great conditions, velvet fairways, near perfect greens, links style w/o tress. Wonderful experience, hard to believe it's a public course.
Awesome course! Will definitely play again..Great shape and friendly service with a smile....A must play.
Love the course but was just using driving range. Its amazing what passes for a "large" bucket of balls!
Best course in the area
Food was very good, great atmosphere and bar. Wait staff were excellent. Would recommend for any occasion.
Nice track to play with a nice mix of hole difficulty. A little forgiving as duck hooks and slices are easy to find in the next fairway. This leads to slow play on occasion. Course management is nice and strive to keep play going. Fairways and greens services the winter wahoo!
Good shape for a public course. Friendly staff
Course in great shape on 6/30/2019.
Great links course
