A great course for while you are visiting the coast. Be prepared to loose a few balls though, those winds are a whole different kind of beast, yet that is to be expected if you plan on hitting a course on the Oregon coast. Don't worry there is a McMenamins right there with great food and drinks to console your wind bitten wounds.

If you have not been to the Gearhart course in a while like I hadn't, what a pleasant surprise! A true links style course now. Superintendent keeping it in GREAT shape! A great trip for those like me from Portland and a MUST to practice links golf in the wind if you have a trip planned to Bandon. Say hi to Jason in the pro shop. Great course. Great staff!

Good track and they have done alot of renovations to facilities etc. Also added a snack shop with food and drinks to allow you to refuel midway through a round. Just wish they could find a way to add a driving range..... that's their only downfall.

The course may be old, but it is in great shape. The greens played very good, and the fairways were nice and manicured. I love the open style (trees gone), my only concern was a few holes the fairways were close and made it a bit dangerous for incoming golf balls. Otherwise, loved it! Very walk-able and really a nice course. Good job!

The service from the pro shop staff was truly exceptional. This was our first time playing there—a gentleman from the pro shop walked us to the first hole and provided an overview of the course with a bit of history. This is a well-design course, with plenty of fun and challenging holes to keep even the most experienced golfers on their toes. The course is beautiful and we look forward to playing there again!

Really enjoy playing this 18 hole links style course. 18th hole into the wind is one of the toughest in Oregon. Very walkable. Pro-shop service is great!

It was really inside Mcmenamins at the hotel here. But all the breakfast food was lovely (I had their special, maple bacon pancakes which were made with real maple so they weren't too sweet.) And I've been here for lunch too, their sandwiches are the bombbbbbb. They have great fresh seafood here, I personally ordered sauteed buttered clams which was served with a big piece of sourdough. Another good note is they have a bar inside the restaurant, which I can't wait to visit.

Great course. Layout is very challenging. Pretty short from the white tees. Hitting hybrid off most tees. The greens are in great condition and fast. Would definitely recommend and play again.

A great course ruined. Conditions are inconsistent at best. Only thing consistent is the bad attitude of John at the counter. $85 green fees - play Pumpkin Ridge for $70 and use the $15 for gas money.

Great scottish course. Deep pot bunkers make it truly challenging. Finding a level stance can be difficult if your tee shot is not well placed. Loved the course. Coming back next year.

My daughter and I spent a night here. Rooms are comfortable. Small pub downstairs and restaurant upstairs. Fun place to stay. Has a golfing theme and is located on a golf course and right across the street from the ocean.

Very nice place. We stayed at Gearhart by the sea and this place is beautiful they have wild elk that walk round the property and go down to the beach and let you get super close to take pictures. Very nice place anyone going to Seaside I would highly recommend staying here and if you love golf this is definitely the place for you.

This place has gotten way too expensive for me. I'm just a hacker when it comes to golf. I think we were quoted something like $60 mid-week for 9 holes of golf.

I always have a good time at McMenamins establishments. This was no different. Being close to the beach, staff that knows how to have a good time and treat their customers, clean and eccentric facilities, and consistency. The rooms are nice, and this particular location just has a bit more intimate feel due to the smaller size.

Great track! Old school golf at its best. Two very different nines, where the front is short and puts iron play is a premium, and the back is longer and requires accurate driving. Greens are always top notch. Drains great. So much fun to be had.

quite simply the best golf "experience" you can have. from the pro shop to the range to the incredible vibe , Gearhart is golf heaven. on a late summer afternoon, with the gulls nestling in the fairway hollows, and the sea spray reflected in the golden light, a feeling of complete happiness overcomes any golfer lucky enough to be out on The Links, stinging shots off the perfect turf. to walk up the epic 18th hole and see the beautiful lodge in the background, guests leaning over the balcony with beers in their hands, the ocean roaring in the distance, is simply as good as it gets.

What a beautiful place to be with your family and just have a great day at the beach as well as the rooms they have are amazing with a great view of the ocean. We had the best time here at gearhart and I will come back whenever I can. Everything is so close and the people are very nice.

Even with all the rain at the coast we played the ball "as it lay" today. Course drains really well and the greens were rolling close to 10 on the stimp even though they were aerated just one week ago

Gearhart is a great place to get in a round. Solid layout with difficult short holes and some that are long enough to be scary. When the wind is up and the course is damp, this thing is a beast.

Inept staff. Had a "golf" & stay package. We weren't allowed to golf two straight mornings because of afternoon tournaments, despite essentially no one on the course the first morning 845 am to at least 11:00, and no crowd waiting around to start a tournament; and relatively few the second day. No explanation given for wide open tee boxes but can't play. Won't try again, there are better courses with accommodating staff. Looks like little brother to better links courses anyway.

This is my favorite course in Oregon. Never miss a chance to play the course, especially the front side. Great mix of holes, with premium on good iron play. Small greens are always fast and firm and course in good shape. Built on rolling dunes and drains well. Will always remember playing as a family. Wonderful breakfast with good service at mcminamins! Beautiful, large course with helpful staff. Overall great experience and difficulty of greens were good. Wasn't thrilled with construction, but can't be helped I guess. This course is $90 with cart.

Great course with a real friendly staff. You have to stop by the Sand Trap Bar between the first and nineth hole. It's a great full bar to stop by while you play a round of golf or to just go and get a drink. The staff is amazing.
