This Golf is included in the category of Golf club.
I golfed the sweetbriar side and the course is challenging but it needs more maintenance. The fairways are covered in various weeds and clover so there wasn't much difference from the rough. I won't be playing it again until there is some upkeep done...I will however play the Legacy side. That is a great course that is taken care of and worth the money. It can get a bit crowded but it is worth the wait. The restaurant and clubhouse are nice and have plenty to choose from. I will certainly play this side again.
Course was in great shape
This place is a joke. I’ve tried to play there three times now and each time I end up leaving with a rain check because It is simply impossible to finish a normal round here. The starters don’t have a CLUE how to do their job as each time I’ve played there one person tells me to go off one side and somebody else will tell me to go off the other. The maintenance crews were running several mowers on each hole while being played this last Sunday, with absolutely zero respect for players. One of them even ran over my ball! For $59 this is unacceptable. Everything is extremely wet every time I’ve played here and the rough was over 6 inches long. The legacy course seems nice from a distance but When you get on the greens they are SO soft that they are riddled with spike marks that never fade away so putting is basically a waste of time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE.
Fun and pretty layout. A good day.
In very good shape. nice layout especially on the Legacy. Couple dumb holes but other than that very nice
Was a nice golf course. The greens were soft but fast. The course was well taken care of. Bob the ranger was not very polite. And ruined an otherwise good experience.
Great time playing the Legacy Course at Sweetbriar! We found a great deal on Golfnow for a 6:40 tee time so we were the first ones out. The starter was very gracious in getting us started and out on the box immediately. This course rivals any country club in the area with tight, super thin cut fairways. Since it was so early (and a nice storm rolled through the night before) we didn't get much roll on good drives. The rough was lush but fair so stay clear if you wanna score well. The layout takes you through a scenic development so walking this course would be exhausting. The holes are guarded with mounding and a few bunkers, not much water around the greens except on #7 and par 5 # 14. I would highly recommend this course. I didn't get a chance to use the driving range but it's right near the clubhouse so you could get a small bucket in before the round no problem.
It was a great time
Don't pay any attention to sweetbriar course is pretty much burned out. Nice greens that's it. Expected more.
The grounds were maintained very well and the staff was helpful. Tee boxes were large clean and level and the gr8÷nd were teriffic. The water hazards keopted you focused on your shot. Overall it is a great place to spend golfing.
Well stocked with all your golf needs
Great service, fast, friendly staff. Food is outstanding, views are beautiful while dinning.
Great food, respectable staff, and wonderful atmosphere.
Very nice place. Staff are very professional and courteous.
Great venue for the annual Smiles For Sophie Forever foundation. What a great event.
Best course around, good food, good beer selection
Attended a bridal shower there. Very nice venue. The food was good and the staff was helpful.
Friendly staff and nicely manicured course.
Best golfing and nice people
Courses are both fun, and definitely different. Pro shop could be more welcoming.
Outstanding food and service.
Good course. Good prices
Conditions of the course very nice
Amazing staff! The food was excellent!
Very enjoyable. SB course in good shape. Ate dinner. Very good taste, price and service.
Average selection of golf merchandise. Over priced.
I have never been here by the Google Maps keeps putting it on saying I've been there. Looks like a nice place when I drive by it. But again Google Maps and assist I have been here, I have not.
Legacy course is great, avoid the old course if possible
Great course to play after work with the twilight special.
Wonderful Easter Brunch. Has a variety of food to choose from. Great dessert table and extremely friendly staff. Great place
Course is nice, pace of play is not. The starters are sexist and rude towards women, lady golfers beware. Foursomes do not let twosomes play through and the clientele is quite rude and chauvinistic. Many players hit from the black tees as if they are pro golfers, barely making it past the women's tees. Starters do nothing to fix it, but wave hands in female faces. Good luck playing this course if you are a good golfer looking for a quick round without egotistical people.
Great winter time promotions on Tues, Wed and Thurs.
Fun and exciting place to play
Good
This combination of two 18 hole golf courses is pretty great for the Lorain area. I recommend that you use their tee times on the website, as you'll be saving 25-50%. I prefer the secondary course "Sweetbriar" because it has what I expect from a course as far as challenges, diversity and scenery. The "Legacy" course plays a little more difficult and it's fitted into a neighborhood, with upper middle class houses all around. Both courses are beautiful. The driving range only let us play off of a fake grass mat and we couldn't make any divots.
Offering some great winter happy hour specials.
Wonderful Golf Field. My husband loves it!
Great Food, Enjoyable and BEAUTIFUL, friendly atmosphere. I really LOVE this place. My only issue is, WHERE IS THE MUSIC, on that gorgeous back patio and fun bar area?!! In the summers of 2017 and 2018, they brought in small groups of musicians, and the patio was packed. Everyone LOVED and enjoyed the music. We heard the owner doesn't want to "pay the royalty fees" for music. I say, PLEASE, PLEASE re-think this decision and PLEASE bring back entertainment on that gorgeous back patio next summer!! I would be willing to pay a cover charge, just to have this wonderful aspect again. We went up every Friday and Saturday night when they had the music. Sadly, we are lucky if we go up a couple of times a month.
The original 18 is ok but the price reflects the upkeep. Fairways not the best but the greens are ok.
Great golf, people and food
This is a fun spot for sure!
I have never been in that place before
Great course and great food
Love this place!! Easy parking, excellent dining area, pleasant service. Great views of golf course. Pricing for everything is quite affordable. Plan to get there soon and more often.
Noce course for the price
Sweetbriar is one of my top 2 favorite courses that I've played so far. It is slightly challenging because of the ponds and creeks you have to hit over but this course isn't just for great golfers. The clubhouse and dining facilities are beautiful and overlooks both the Sweetbriar and Legacy course. The Pro Shop has an immense selection from clothing to clubs to gear. As far as the standard prices go I'm not certain because while I shopped there they had their annual Labor Day sale which I ended up buying 2 dozen Srixon balls for just $30!
Legacy course is a beautiful course. Some of the best rolling greens in ne ohio. Bunkers well maintained, fairways very nice, tee boxes are in great condition. Highly recommend this course
Me and my girl went yesterday for our 3rd time. We have enjoyed the course and the people that work there everytime. So friendly. Will be back soon!!
Price is the best around. Staff in house is awesome. However they should expect people to play slower when you can not drive the golf carts on the grass that adds time to your game per hole. It is not proper to tell golfers to play faster with the mud and water condition all over. I would suggest that on these kind of days where it is cart path only to space people out better.
Fairways were really dried out not as lush's I would like them
Worse golf course I ever played. No maintenance of fairways or trees. Horrible golfing experience.
Golf at Legacy : I'm a big fan. It's a really nice course!!
decent driving range
Poor service/long wait for food /food was barely warm/fries were over done/won't be returning &do not recommend going there!!
Generally in very good shape and awesome to have these two courses available locally
Just like a private club. Great food.
The one star is given only because the food in the restaurant was so bad. Everything else I liked including the staff.
GREAT BURGER
Course was in beautiful shape, bought an outfit and got it on sale. Look forward to golfing there again soon.
Great place
Recently played in an event there. The pro shop is small, but packed full of stuff. The prices for golf are a bit high for what you get, but worth it once or twice a year. The event caterer was TERRIBLE. Steak and chicken were inedible.
Was The Legacy Restaurant Not the Sweetbriar Golf Club!!! As always excellent drinks, food and service. Our server: Caitlin was terrific. If she's not there ask for Alexandria (Alex). Both are wonderful.
Even at the end of season they offered an array of products
Nice course good food
The "Legacy" layout is Great... also the food is Spectacular... Great Proshop and "Chris Ann" is the Best.
Great course in my opinion. Great price. Fun day.
Not much here
Played Sweetbriar over the weekend with a buddy. Tee time was early afternoon. Pace of play was great. Staff was friendly. Clubhouse and restaurant were fantastic with a great atmosphere. As for the course, on many holes it was difficult to tell the difference between the rough and fairway. There was really no noticeable difference in cut length. Greens were good however. I imagine that they spend more time with the Legacy course which is to be accepted. Overall Sweetbriar is a great course to get a quick round in and will definitely be back to play both 18's.
Kevin and the guys inside have always been awesome to me ever since I started playing there as a teenager. The customer service has been great. The pro shop also has an amazing Labor Day sale every year that I highly recommend to all golfers in the area. It is not the cheapest golf course in the area, but definitely one of the better ones.
This clubhouse is better than many country club clubhouses that i have been to. They did it right when they added their signature legacy course. Not real sure how the pro shop is but if the clubhouse is any indication i am sure the pro shop is A+!
Just a fantastic course..top notch facillity!
Great food. Mediocre service. Lovely entertainment.
On a beautiful and scenic golf course is this totally charming restaurant. With its winding drive and large, welcoming entrance, and what you might expect to find when you enter is even better than what you thought. A number of dining rooms, a dazzling vaulted ceiling, an expansive bar, and a curved wall of windows overlooking the greens. Afternoons are mainly for lunches of various salads, appetizers, hearty sandwiches and some entrees as well. Their dinner menu favors a greater selection of the entrees and all the sides, salads and apps that will appeal to just about every palate. In a nutshell, the food is really, really good; and for you coffee lovers, you're in for a nice surprise of a delicious cup of coffee too. Selections are plentiful, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the views are beautiful, but most importantly, the food is absolutely delicious. If you haven't already been here then you simply must give it a try. It's one of the special treasures on the west side of town.
Excellent day
Cart paths only and greens had been punched. Could use hazard markers
Well kept golf course
Very nice place to golf.
Legacy golf course is in very good shape.
DIG IT Nice place they put on a great outing for our church
Very nice course and well maintained, would look forward to return and play it again.
Not a huge golfer, was here for a charity event but this place is very nice.
Good place to golf for a casual afternoon
Great course!
Pretty nice course. Not as good as legacy, but adequate. Could be a bit more competitive on pricing. If I recall, mostly dry course.
Great place. Relaxed pace
Excellent food and service. Great outdoor area.
The Legacy course is a very playable course with very generous fairways and greens that are not tricked out. Even on this wet day they were fast. The rough is even playable. You can play this course and not lose any balls as everything is cut. Very scenic and the houses are well back from the playing area. I deducted one star ad they need work on the cart path. Too many chuckholes and other areas that need repairs.
Came here for a colleague retirement party very beautiful views food was great drinks a bit pricey but nice time we loved the Elvis guy!!
Little wet but for first time out this year couldnt be happier with the weather today. Heavy rain last night so fairly wet but still very playable, and fun to be on.
Great time, great people!
Excellent Staff and Facilities
Great course with very friendly staff!
Course was in terrible shape extremely wet and no rain for days
Beautiful course. Only bad thing I could say is that the gun range near by is a little distracting. Other then that I will play again.
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice course.
Very nice
