Played here yesterday and only good thing about the course was the greens and still they were rough. Couldn’t get a ball to sit down for anything. $20 for 9 holes and a cart on a Wednesday afternoon was steep for the condition the course was in. Fox Den and roses run same price in the same area and much much better courses. Could barely tell the difference between rough and fairway and the tee boxes were just as long as the fair way. Everything was rock hard so it was nice for roll out on drives but when you hit a nice high wedge and the ball rolls off the back when it hits the front of the green that’s a problem. Course needs some watering and some serious work before I’d come back.

Best value in the area. It’s short and wide open on the front but the back can be challenging. You will definitely use every club in your bag. Most of the time the course is in great shape and is a joy to play. Staff is awesome and always helpful. If you’re a weekend golfer that typically shoots in the 90’s this is a great course for you.

As one of the last remaining golf courses in the Kent, Ohio area, it has the feel of a club house from the days of Arnold Palmer. Almoat a smoky, local, dive bar feel but clean. Definitely a place to hit a round and have a few brews. It gets crowded now due to being one of the last remaining golf courses in the Kent area and the tees/greens can use some weed control. As well there could be a greater emphasis on reducing patron littering of the surrounding natural habitat. The management is decent, though a but tight with money judging by the dated condition of the club and condition of some of the course's tees/greens.

Course layout somewhat challenging. Especially the back side. In fairly good shape for this time of year. Wish other players would learn to fix their ball marks. Greens would be better.

I have seen holes with a pond. I have seen holes with a bunker. But this is the first course where I have seen a bunker with a pond on top of it. Make sure to take 2 pairs of shoes if you golf at this place. SMH

This is a course with some interesting, and tough holes. The condition of the course is not tops, tee boxes are not good, and a couple of greens problematic. But the people running the course are very nice and helpful.

It has been approx. 25+ years and I must say the course is a nice track to play on would sure go back. I relation to the the other reviews I must say the staff was very hospitable. The only issue I would address would be the Tee Box needs work a little TLC would make it all complete. I would still visit the course again and soon.

On 4-30-19 Played Front 9. Course was a MUD PIT! Tee Boxes were GARBAGE! Finished hole 5 saw LIGHTNING, called Clubhouse from Course. Asked to get a Raincheck? Was told no! Mind you the only two golfers on the course at the time! I will never be back. Don't waste your money! Course was in terrible shape. I am sure will join the other courses now closed! In RESPONSE maybe Early in the Year you shouldn't charge 20 for 9 and a Cart if that's the Case! Treat your customers better! You lost a lot of Revenue due to A STUPID DECISION!

This course is like playing in a country field. The only thing missing was the grazing cows. The fairways are non-existent and there are dead spots everywhere including the greens. The fairways are slightly better than the rough. The sand traps are possibly the worst I have ever seen. I told my friend I was golfing with to take his ball out of the trap and hit out of the rough, so he didn’t damage his club. It was literally down to the concrete. It is a shame this course isn’t better maintained, as it has potential with the design and the strategically placed hills on the course. They charge the same price as other courses that are in much better condition. I would maybe pay half of their asking price to play here again...maybe.

First of all I would like to say some of the comments below are nothing more than lapses of judgment by Gary and Tom. If the weather is bad, or "too wet" stay home. Raccoon Hills didn't ask you to play in lighting or to play in a "pond." As for the course, the management could not be nicer or more accommodating. The course has some unique holes and is a good public course. If the naysayers on here want to gripe about the quality of the course I suggest they find a country club to go shoot 110 at.

MAGA great course with A MAGA great staff. They are friendly curious and accommodating. It's the place to be if you want A great hot dog and drink as well. This golf course is so nice if Trump were to visit he'd build A wall around it.

I visited 3 weeks ago as part of a company event and had fun. The staff is friendly and the courses are fine for novice golfers such as myself. They had kegs, water, and snacks at different stations. There were beverages for purchase for those who require aiming fluid

Raccoon is always a fun place to play. The people behind the counter are always friendly, the pace of play is decent, there are some interesting holes, and they are always open when no one else is. Particularly in the winter months. And the cheese burgers are about as good as I have had in northeast Ohio.

Booked the night before for a 12:32 tee time. Entered all of my contact information, pressed the submit button and double checked that the time now was shown as unavailable. When my group of 4 showed up the next day for our scheduled time, the desk attendant told us our tee time was assigned to a different person. I doubt another person booked the tee time at 3 AM as I did. The desk attendant was rude and did not take us or the issue seriously, in fact he even laughed at us. He said if we still wanted to play, we would have to walk. I hope their online tee time reservation will be looked over to prevent any future errors.
