This is a beautiful golf course the only problem is they rarely maintain it. The tees are on slopes and the cups when cut are put on side hills. The rough has not been cut for a while and the greens are rarely cut as well. Some one should lose their job over the constant condition of this course.

Front 9 is unique and spacious, back nine is a little Forresty and tougher

I play golf as much for exercise as the challenge of scoring well, so I usually carry my bag. The front 9 at California is great for both. 3 elevated greens are tricky to hit and taxing to climb. They have putted well when I have played them. In fact, I like the course in general. Enough trees and hazards to make it interesting but not exasperating for a mid-level player like me. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would give it 5 stars but back 9 is so hilly and some tee boxes so scattered that playing it requires a cart and a lot of experience to hit to exact spots on many of the fairways.

This course compares fairly well to reeves in that it is not terribly difficult. However, the course overall is in better condition. Great value! Only reason I can't give it 5 stars is the tee boxes and greens could use divit repairs. Fun course!

Never play on Sunday morning.If you start early,you can guarantee a three hour second nine. The group that was put out in front of us were non golfers. Nobody takes any control of the pace of play.

At the turn a freedom 2 groups in front of us took a break and then jumped up in front of us causing a 10 minute wait for us to tee off on 10. Starter didn't do a thing about them and let them sit and back up the course. Also, concession stand wasn't open.

Good course, challenging greens, plays pretty open, had to play back 9 only aince they aerated the greens on the front. Course was in great condition. Not sure why the kitchen was closed in mid April, but not a huge deal for me.

Nice and historic old-school course with tree lined fairways. Some greens can get tricky which can really test your short game and putting skills. I play this course several times a year and always enjoy. If you live in the cincinnati area and have not played here, you need to give it a shot.

The guy on the phone was pretty rude the first time I called, but I called the next week and a different guy was much more professional. Played nine after the leagues during the week, and it was too busy/slow. Got backed up at hole six with two groups ahead of us waiting. So we went back to hole one and played 1-3. It was a well kept course for a good price.

Normally it's one of my favorite courses, but today they were aerating the fairways and it was disappointing that when I made the tee times for 8 on Sunday that I was not informed that they would be doing this work. It was terrible trying to play from the fairway as well as the tracking of mud onto the greens. I think the bad experience could have e been avoided if we had been told about the aerating when we called for the tee times. We would have e moved California into the later rotation and played it later after it had time to heal.

Nothing special in my opinion, but a fair course. Only one par-5, so there isn't much variety. Pace of play was terrible, starter didn't really hold people to tee times and never saw a ranger to keep things moving. Also there was no drinking water on the entire course.

A fun par 70 course with some good variety. It's one of the best three CRC courses behind Glenview and Neumann. The finishing hole on the back nine is my least favorite and makes me question why it was built that way, but aside from that, the course is enjoyable.
