I never review...When reading a couple I had too. Some of the people that reviewed are lying! * All sand traps are dirt (no sand) * Very much over priced!! Come on man (under construction). *Clubhouse closed...I get it under construction. (Don't charge full price) * Had to dodge sprinklers multiple times. You can tell it use to be "that course"...Not anymore! No way is it a $50 course...NO WAY! If you buy you'll see. Must go with having the intention of not caring / being serious about your golf game that day...Just out for the companionship. I did have a good time...But I didn't pay full price! I bought through last minute golfer and got a deal. I just seen this on Groupon for $52...Lol (Save your Money). ***People that posted stating it's in excellent shape...Not even close!
Quite an unfortunate experience today in this course. We were asked to return to the clubhouse as we were starting the 11th hole because a golf league would start shotgun soon. The young guy who checked us in didn’t mention anything about a golf league, and pace of play was not even an issue. I don’t remember this ever happening to me (at first I thought It was a joke) but after reading recent reviews online, I now realize it’s a common problem here. Obviously a sign of bad management. Anyway, when I returned my cart and expressed my displeasure for stopping our round and ruining our afternoon off work, I was treated rudely and dismissively by the guy whom I found out later is the owner. He said if I want to play 18, why don’t I go back to the front 9 and he angrily told me he could even play with me and then abruptly left. I was expecting an apology but what I got is an attitude that basically says, ‘tough luck for you that we screw up here, I don’t care you paid for a full round and wanted to play and enjoy the challenge that each of our 18 holes offer.’ At the end, since I was already dealing with the owner himself, I just resigned myself to accepting that this guy doesn’t want any of our business. So I left and told the young guy they can have the $10 they were offering for kicking us out of the course (basically charging us $25 for 10 holes we already played). Well, at the end, it’s not my loss and neither are my friends’ loss. This course is no longer the same course I used to play years ago. Poor conditions all over, obviously not being well maintained, plus you can seriously hurt yourself driving in the cart path. So, hard to imagine the owner’s attitude if the course is even close to being decent...
Needs work. Its been a dry summer
My first time playing this course. I booked with the golf now app It's a great course and it will test every skill set. I differently will be playing it again soon.
Had my first golfing experience at this course. The staff was friendly, helpful, and willing to share advice. Looking forward to more visits.
Slightly harder course lots of hazzards.Everyone very friendly, new carts. Bathrooms under repair.
A fantastic view of the Cincinnati skyline
Beautiful course with an amazing view.
Good golfing
The clubhouse could definitely use a facelift.
It's November, still in good condition.
Nice
Nothing good nothing bad
Soothing atmosphere.
Course condition was overall very nice. Owner and staff are friendly and willing to help. Can’t wait for the clubhouse to be opened back up soon!
This is a great track with very challenging holes but very playable. It just needs a little TLC...
Golfed there today and I can't find one positive thing to say about the course. It was $40 for 18 holes on a Thursday morning. The course is a complete disaster. Anywhere else would be better. Also, it's July and they don't have water in the jugs placed along the course. This place needs some serious help.
Excellent challenging golf course and great staff.
Little bit difficult ........ But, I like this course.
Nice layout. Currently there are no restrooms or port-o-lets.
Great course for all levels of players. Course is always in great condition and is very affordable. Highly recommend.
The clubhouse appears to be a shell of it's former glory, must have been nice "back in the day" but needs some love. The course is nice, well maintained, offers challenging play and some great views overlooking the city.
Beautiful grounds for walking.
Cost $50 to play and the bunkers weren't even raked they were rock hard and I found an interesting club head cover on the 10th green
Course OK..pin placement tough..but no food or restroom available at clubhouse
One of the more run-down courses around, while also on the more expensive side. I just played 18 holes where our cart (that was full of trash at the beginning) died on 17-18 after we pushed it through the hills of 15-16. We called at 15 and were told someone would be right out, then told they "forgot" after we walked back, and the owner had a sarcastic reply to every complaint we had. He gave us half of our money back, which was good, but put the total for the day right around where it should be for 18 on this course on a good day, not considering all the problems and poor service. As for the course, the tee boxes were torn apart, the sprinklers were on in the morning while there was standing water on many of the fairways, the sand traps were either full of water or as hard as concrete.... etc. etc. It was a bad day.
Have been playing here for 5 years now and couldn't be happier with the course. After bringing Wes on board, the course is already in better shape than previous years and it only seems to be getting better. Challenging course, country club feel, for a fair price. Lots of elevation changes, fast greens and some tight fairways to hit off the tee. Perfect course for an average golfer. Make sure to ask Wes about the outings and tournaments they are putting together.... Very cool things happening at Beckett Ridge! Definitely recommend this course to anyone in the area.
Friendly staff, greens kept up very well, owner is always around for help. Cant go wrong.
Course was in really good shape, the only areas that were worn were some of the tee boxes. The layout is nice, with some challenging holes. They are in the process of renovating the clubhouse, and so far it looks good.
Poor conditions. Stay away. Not worth $20.
Course is not is great shape. We will see how it is latter in the season.
New staff is great. Played a round at the end of April and the grounds are in good shape. There are a number of challenging greens and approach shots to keep things interesting.
In transition. Could be a nice course.
Played here by myself. The boxes, fairways, and greens all in great shape. Climate fairways with not much leeway to either side due to houses, woods, or roads. Awesome course if I could keep the ball straight. Only reason this drops a star is the condition of the parking lot.
Beckett Ridge sent out an email advertising 2 for 1 deal. When we got there they didn't honor it. Instead they gave us a coupon to use NEXT time 2 for 1. Dishonest. Course was ok but greens hadn't been cut and clubhouse was closed all day. Bad experience.
Good course, a little run down for a "country club".
Way too much money. Too bad course in bad shape
Needs lots of work. Course layout is very good but maintenance and their golf carts have issues. They used to have a nice restaurant and bar for after play but all closed now.
The only thing bad about the course was the pro didn't show up in time in the morning to get things started. The other golfers their said that happens quite often. The course was really nice. It was a tough course also. I've only played it this one time. But it's a good course and I recommend it.
Worst round I have played all year and I have been playing 2-3 times a week for a few months. Soupy fairways, bunkers with rocks the size of my hand, burnt out fairways, greens, and tee boxes. Weeds in every aspect of the course. Checked in at a trailer. Not worth anywhere near the $35 to play. I don’t know how the homeowners haven’t complained massively as it is a HIGE eyesore to every house there. Incredibly disappointed and won’t be returning anytime soon.
Really fun course to play. Some tricky holes very nice fairways and greens. Owner is very nice and helpful
Definitely one of the best in the area
It's a mess
I played there a couple of weeks ago and there are definitely good and bad points about the course. BAD - This course is absolutely unwalkable. If you enjoy playing without a cart, you will hate this place. It is meant for carts and the distances are just too great between holes. The tee boxes were in terrible shape, though that's not the worst thing. As for the layout, many, many holes have you drive directly into a hill, killing distance. If you can carry a shot 235 yds, you will enjoy this place. I can't. Also, all of the ball washers were broken, and most of the water jugs were empty. It was 92 degrees when I played in the afternoon. There was only one guy working and he didn't seem to know what he was doing. GOOD - The course is a pretty good layout, and a tough test of golf. Besides the tee boxes, the course was in very good shape. Tough greens, and you have to play smart. I thought the price was OK, but a little high for what you get. So, overall, the place has potential to be very nice, but they have a lot of work to do. I won't be back anytime soon given so many very good courses in the area.
This course is not worth the money we paid for it. Not in good condition at all. 10 years ago this was the place to play.
Not that great. Poor course quality, very expensive and just not a place I would recommend.
Good course with challenging holes. Enjoyed playing it.
Great track. Don't see any other hole while you're playing. Not terribly tight, good test of golf.
It took us 5 1/2 hours to play 17 holes at Becket Ridge. We were behind 2 groups that were teeing off on some holes 8 players at a time (as the ranger watched). When we arrived at #18 there they were all 8 of them teeing off. The course is OK, the club house is well below average.
This place is falling down fast. The greens and fairways were good, they were about what you would expect for the money paid. No problem with that. Whoever is managing the place, however, is to blame. No rangers to speed up play on Father's Day Sunday, 2013. The person they said was a ranger was a 20 year old kid that didn't do squat. It took my foursome 3 hours and 10 minutes to play the front 9. That was after waiting 25 minutes past our tee time to tee off. We decided to play the front again because it looked open. Same 9 with no one in front of us, we finished 9 nearly 2 holes ahead of pace. I saw a beverage cart one time during the whole round, and the range balls I purchased were ALL caked in mud. The range is mats only, with no way to gauge your distance, as you are hitting off a cliff. The cart paths are crumbling apart, absolutely terrible. My take on this place is that the management is trying to cut cost at every corner they can, because they aren't getting the business. My advice to them is to shut down maintaining multiple practice areas, close the iron range and just have one practice green and the wedge range, bring on enough rangers to speed up play, and you might survive. The way it stands today: STAY AWAY from this place because there isn't enough staff to make the experience worth the money. 6 hour rounds are not acceptable.
Great place
We had a Halloween party tonight that was stupendous thanks especially to two of our daughters
Definitely not worth the price.
5 stars because I can get balls from the abandoned driving range and HIT them back down for free
Not long ago they changed owners on this golf course. During this process there have been many changes and they will continue to see. The grass is improving a lot, it is in excellent condition at this time. I'm going to put 4 stars because the club house is not ready yet and there's no restaurant or restrooms. the project of a new clubhouse will be ready by the end of 2019. When this happens, one more star will be deserved.
Over priced
There was not enough staff on duty. As a result you had groups sent out in front of you as you made the turn.
Once not long ago this was a desirable place to play golf. What a difference a few years makes. Would not waste your time playing this course. What a waste of time.
Owner refuses to honor deals from other websites. I purchased a round at a discounted rate and soon after the owner contacted me via text and said he can't honor the deal. He then offered me a rate double the price of what I paid. Refused to acknowledge his mistake and blamed me and the website. I will never attempt to play this course again.
Played the course this past weekend and it's in great shape. The Course wasnt too crowded and offered reasonable rates. Wes is the GM there and he is a really nice guy, helpful as well! Highly suggest coming out here if youre looking to golf.
Great golf course! The owner there was fantastic. Course is in great shape good greens. Hole 14 is one tough hole I rank it up there w any in the city. The owner has a plan w that golf course and is on its way. Thanks Beckett Ridge!
Needs renovation, big time
Nice club but some of the greens can be extremely challenging. Great if you want to work on your short game.
Very nice course with great view of the surrounding area. Course was well maintained and the holes are reasonable challenging. I will be back to play this course again.
I'm not sure what happened to this place but it looks like the owners stopped doing any kind of maintenance to the course about 10 yrs ago. The sad thing is it looked like 20 yrs ago this place was a nice up scale place. Today, it's like it's as if the population died off and you were the last person on earth and you wanted to play golf. Sad, just sad......and like a dummy I payed $30 for a round of 18.
Course was in good condition when I played. Club house needs some TLC.
The club house is being remodeled the course is in good condition
I have been playing here for over 20 years and excited about the changes that are coming. I met Wes today. What a great guy and he is going to make Beckett even better. Wes has a real affinity for Beckett because he grew up here and played for the Lakota West golf team. We are fortunate to have him run this course. The course is in great shape. It is a challenging course, and you know your are on a championship course when you are on the fairways and greens. Enjoy playing Beckett at a fair price and look forward to the changes that are coming.
The course is in great shape. Under new ownership and I hope these guys make it there are areas for improvement. The tees need work and the cart paths are rough. If the new owner finds a way to invest in some improvements this could be a country club level course again.
I've wanted to play this track since I herd it went public seven years ago. Finally got a chance. We played 10:00 am on a Saturday for $49. The course was in great condition. The clubhouse and parking lot not so much. Large pot holes in the parking lot and the clubhouse was in bad shape. The toilet and sink were backed up. There were drinks and food for the turn and cart girls on the course so over all I'm pleases. After all I went for the golf.
This should be more of a 2.5 rating. The course is challenging but bad management had ruined it. The staff is always minimal, no cart girl, bar/restaurant hasn't been open, etc. Overpriced for what you get.
Love playing this course. Tee boxes are in need of repair and area's around the greens need repair. I'm told there soon will be a new clubhouse but until that time comes, I can only rate it a 3.
Awsome
Crooked owners don’t pay their bills!
Brides and grooms please do NOT, under any circumstance, choose this place for your wedding reception. We had to set up everything on our own, including linens that we're filthy and wrinkled, and all the tables. We brought the linens home and washed them and spent hours steaming them. Many of the chairs for the tables had holes and stains on them or were broken. Things got progressively worse from there. On the night of our reception we arrived two hours early and the air conditioner was not working. It was the dead of summer and the temperature was 88 degrees in the room and the air conditioner was set at 65, prior to our 150 guests arriving. The air conditioner never did work the entire night. Over half our wedding party left less than 2 hours after arriving because of the heat in the room. Not one person danced to the DJ that we purchased because it was so hot inside. It gets better. We bought two kegs from this venue for a 600 dollar inflated price. We ordered two different types of beer, so guests could have their choice. Well at this place they only had one working beer tap. They told us we had to finish one keg to move onto the other flavor. Unbelievable!!! Needless to say that didn't happen and guests didn't have a choice and we wasted a keg. Other than these major issues, the laminate flooring is bubbling up causing trip hazards, the ceiling vents leak water, and their were bugs in the windows. For a day that was supposed to be a special day, this venue ruined it for everyone. We attempted to contact the owner John through phone calls and emails and received zero correspondence. We will be filing a small claims suit shortly. Please stay away from here!!!!
We played a twilight 9. Good layout and varying difficulty of holes. We will be back
Staff here is rude and unaccommodating, particularly given the number of golf courses in the area and the general decline in courses across America. Would not provide any accommodation to a scheduling error I had made. Although within their "rights," from a "fair play" perspective, most other courses would have done something. Not unlike Petterson refusing to accommodate Lee's mistake in picking up her ball thinking the putt was conceded. Just not right, and will not be coming back.
Played Beckett Ridge for the first time in my golfing career. I have to admit I have missed out on playing a challenging but fun course. I definitely enjoyed my experience and look forward to returning to play again. Green fees are respectable and hope they stay that way to bring in more play. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great shape. Bunkers are under repair but the management stated they are in the process of making upgrades. Westen Lengerich was a pleasure to meet and he made our experience feel as if we was at home. Very respectable young man who takes pride in his golf course. Overall very pleased!
