I came to this golf course with a group of 4 on a Sunday morning. It was our first time, so we called the clubhouse a couple of days before to get an idea of when to arrive. We got to the course a little before 10:00am and there weren't any golfers ahead of us or behind us. The gentlemen at the clubhouse told us it was $40 plus an extra $9 for a cart which is absolutely insane! We traveled about 40 minutes to get there so we didn't have much of a choice at that moment. After paying, the first hole attendant kept telling us to hurry up and said we were taking too much time to get ready. Oddly enough there still wasn't anyone behind us so we were a bit confused as to why he was rushing us. As we were finishing up the course, a group of golfers caught up to us. We were putting on the second to last hole, when all of a sudden we hear the group behind us scream, "Let's go!" several times. We never had a ranger tell us to speed up and we were playing scramble so in reality our pace of play was cut in half. Never in my life have I ever felt so unwelcome and distressed at a golf course. You guys really need to get it together.

I play here regularly and while the course itself is well maintained the people who run the place have a big chip on their shoulder and are downright rude sometimes. Its a shame really when you try to enjoy this nice course and then have these run ins with old men sticklers which leaves a bitter after taste.

Very disappointed with this course. Been coming here for a few years. Apparently they close at 5:30 in the fall. I showed up at 5:31 and wasnt allowed on the course. I had cash in my hand and planned on walking. Still wouldnt let me out. Man behind the counter was very rude. Very rude

Course was really well maintained. Pace of play was as expected. This is a local county course that not only spends the necessary money to maintain a well groomed course it runs it well with starters and rangers helping to keep the operation running smoothly. Excellent time - will return.

It's a municipal 9-hole course, so you can't really expect too much. It's relatively well maintained for a public course and the price is reasonable even if you are non-county resident, just make sure you register to get the better rate. The course itself is not very long but nonetheless not so easy for an average golfer like me. Overall it was a decent experience.

Went here to play a quick 9, I come here a lot, but today, the course was a little busy. Had a tee time for 4:00, I didn't get out there until 4:45. And then, coming down the 1st fairway, not even 5 minutes into the 1st hole, starter is waving us off the hole, saying we are taking too long. Staff is unfriendly, course is ok, and the pace of play is incredibly slow. Not going back.

Nice 9 hole course. Not particularly exciting from a layout or scenery perspective but it is a great place to learn and practice your game. Very walkable which is good because the Bergen County courses really rip you off when it comes to golf carts.

I was waiting on line to sign-in for golf when the individual below with the bad review came into the building. Apparently he did not have the proper credentials (county card, ID, or booked reservation - I'm not sure) to play and was enraged that he was not being allowed to play. Loud, cursing, dropping F-bombs. In over 50 years of playing golf I've never seen someone as out-of-control and inappropriate as this person. Tom - the Manager at Orchard Hills - remained professional the entire time, explaining the situation to this person, never raising his voice. Finally he was told to leave and did so with more cursing. I've played Orchard Hills many times and my experiences with Tom and his staff have been nothing but professional.This individual was obviously having a bad day but there really was no excuse for his behavior.

This course was run to the ground under the old Democratic county administration. Under the new guidance for the county, with the new reservation system that allows for same day play by calling in the morning it is excellent. Things are getting better. The people there could be nicer,,,

Wrote a negative review about the course manager Tom Esposito a few weeks ago. Since then I spoke with Tom regarding my issue. Turns out that we realized that we had a complete misunderstanding of our viewpoints. Ironed it out , no problem. Goes to show ya what a simple conversation can do. He does run a well maintained course. Thanks Tom
