Very nice club with a lot of beautiful rooms. This is an old-school place in the nicest way, with traditional, attentive service and classically done libraries and other areas. The only negative is that if you don't know the layout it can be hard to negotiate.

Brunch at the rooftop restaurant is the best you can get. Service is extraordinary. Waiters will remember you from another trip and remember your selections. All that without the over talking. In the main building rooms are nice, not so much in the other building. Windows don’t open, but it has so many stars everywhere, that even if I slept on the floor it would still be a 5 star rating.

Just had a very unfortunate experience with this club where I was trying to track down a friend who was staying at the club and due to the no mobiles rule I called, was put through to the bar but was told that "there are a lot of people outside but I don't have time to go out there" followed by him putting down the phone by someone described as the "head bartender". These clubs are modelled after English clubs but a servant in an English club would lose his job for being so rude and unhelpful.

Just got back from a beautiful wedding at this venue. Saturday night wedding and reception. Our hosts had arranged for hotel accommodations down the street at the Marriott so it was incredibly convenient for us out of towners. The location was nice. It may have been a converted office building but we would never have guessed. So nice inside. The staff never missed a beat to ensure everyone was moved through the different areas of our event. There was a very nice cocktailing area after the ceremony with a full bar. All the servers and bar tenders were smiling and pleasant and just added to the atmosphere. Very attentive during the meal. The food was excellent. It was modern and decorated elegantly (I know that is more the wedding planner) but this venue can be done in so many ways. Parking was easy and accessible. Many attendees were offered shuttle service between the venue and the Marriott down the street. I think this is a great venue for a wedding. Lots of folks from out of town at this wedding, but many locals as well.

High class club with skilled staff. NY LED Furniture put an LED dance floor on the 3rd floor, and combined with the DJ from Frost Productions, they made for a great 25th anniversary party. The building is very clean, even the service areas. The guard at the service entrance was friendly and helpful, as was most of the staff.

Warning: Watch your valuables! Use the in-room safes. Most of our suites and rooms were rifled through while we attended wedding-related events in May 2013. A police report was filed for the cash that was stolen. However, we did not file about the small items that were stolen from the various suites and wedding venues (some fake furs that were used as props, a silk tie, cash from ladies' purses, a toiletries bag from a packed suitcase in their manned luggage room). Yes, the Met Club's public spaces are beautiful, and I would recommend it for a wedding ceremony (with the caveat that you should watch your valuables at all times). However, I do not recommend staying there. My family has traveled extensively in the US and around the world and has never encountered employees that are this unprofessional and indifferent; some were overtly rude. Because we are very polite, American-born, working professionals, the only explanations I could think of is that we are not Club members or that we are not white. FYI, the fitness room is for men only; women are not allowed.
