As muni courses go, this one is OK. The most interesting layout of all the courses in Queens and Brooklyn, but conditions could be better. Fairways are spotty and the greens are, too. But there are some challenging holes and overall it's a nice walk in the park.

the course is in decent shape, but that's all this place has, i went out with my friend today and play in front of us was at a snail's pace if we didn't skip three holes we would have played a 5 hour round, i went to the pro shop and asked the guy that was there if they have a ranger he said no, what course don't have a ranger, you need one to keep the pace going otherwise you'll wait 10-15 minutes on every hole and that just throws your game off. so i told the guy at the pro shop that we won't be playing there anymore and he shrugged and said ok, i guess they don't care if they lose business. do yourself a favor and go to douglaston or kissena, they are run much better. also the people that play there don't pick up there divots or dirt from the fairway.

This is one of my favorite courses in nyc to play. Their friendly and helpful staff always ensure a great weekend of golf with friends. Their facilities could use a little more work, the lack of a driving range is a big negative. Transportation is also not that easy to use coming from Queens.

Easiest to get to from Manhattan, but note a few things: - you NEED to tee off before 8am if you want to get around in under 5 hours - they don't honor tee times (related to above) - the yardage from the back tees is wildly inaccurate. plays about 500 yards shorter

I really liked this course and really recommend it. Reason I gave 4 stars is because there are definitely areas of improvement. Very well maintained and they have a beverage cart that comes around frequently to stock you on food and drinks.

Played Aug. 22 for first time on a visit to NYC and shot 78 from the white tees. Fairways and greens were in great shape. A fun course to play with a mix of tough and easy holes. Only drawback is that the fairways are too close to each other … this is what I call a "hard hat" course because you need some sort of protection from wayward golf shots. We had other groups playing out of our fairway all day.

Nice medium length city course. You must put it in the fairway for a decent score. Tree coverage on some tee boxes and greens hamper grass growth . Too many patrons do not fix ball marks on the greens, as well as not replacing divot in the fairway. Overall a very good job is done in the total upkeep of this course. Some areas give nice views of our Manhattan skyline. While playing, its easy to forget you're on a city course in a great city. Overall, I recommend playing and experiencing this historic NY Queens course.

Always a place to go for the outdoors. I don't go for golf. The bathrooms are always open. You can ride your bikes. Exercise. They have a carousel. Sometimes they have live entertainment.

I am bias cause this is my home course. People there treat us great. Play every Sunday in summer. Course is maintained. Weather is always a factor. Tee boxes suffer a little. Fatwas greens good shape. Short tight course lots of trees. Recommend

This course great for all handicappers. You will find yourself regularily needing to make skillful shots with every club in the bag. It has very tight, treelined fairways that affect your second shot right out the tee box and hard dog legs that makes a lot of holes play longer than advertised. Elevated greens adds difficulty to shorter holes. Hit it straight and it's a great day--hooks and slices are punished. The only complaints are the cut of the greens, which are a bit "furry" and the number of high handicappers who insist on playing from the blue tees. These players tend to be in the trees more often than not and it crushes the pace of play. 5-6 hours average round times if you behind someone like this. Blues are geared to a true 17 handicap and below, coming in at 5700 yards in length. 18-28 handicappers will have a great time from the white tees, which comes in around 5300 yards in length.

Golfers here have ZERO courtesy which leads to 5 to 6 hour rounds. 20-30 handicap golfers thinking they're scratch golfers. 4-5 practice swings, followed by bad shots, followed by hitting a mulligan, sometimes mulligans, looking at putts on potmarked greens from all angles, it's pathetic. Then you also have jerks forming fivesomes after clearing the second hole. The employees don't care. Rangers don't exist. Mention something to the pro shop and they and they're like so what, if you don't like it, go somewhere else.

A sumptuous golf course for those interested. A "public" Enterprise with a fee. Gorgeous in every way. When I used to jog around Forest Park, I once entered to jog and was swiftly and politely commanded to exit. After substantial snowfalls, all local kids make holes in the chain linked fences to avail themselves with excellent sleigh territory, illegal on the books, but I'm unaware of anyone ticketed.
