Played as a group of 14 today. $67 seemed way too much for most of the greens being in such a poor condition. But biggest issue was a disrespectful ranger. We started at 1pm and a group in fron started at 12:30. this young punk ranger guy came to us on 6th green and `told us to close the gap with the group in front of us since there's a hole open. I tried to explain that they went out 30 minutes earlier and group behind us were a hole behind, he didn't give me a chance to talk. He said "I'm gonna stop you right there. It's your responsibility to close the gap with a group in front". He said that in very rude tone like a gangster trying to bully I said O.K. and didn't argue cuz didn't want it to be a fist fight and sure didn't want him to ruin my game any more than he already did. I went to proshop after finishing 9 hole in under 2 hours and seriously complained. I belong to 2 different group of 16 golfers each that play every week. I'm not coming back here. My groups will not come back here. And I will advise anyone even considering this place not to come here. I'm sure the words will spread much farther. Unless you get some kinda kick out of paying your money to be bullied, DON'T play at Sunset Valley!!!!

If you want to go to a golf course and finish a round. This. Is. Not. The. Place. Checked in today at 10AM, Tee'd off at 10:30. Everything was ok on the first hole, but immediatley went down hill. It took 4 HOURS 10 MINUTES to play 13 holes. We abandoned the round after 13 because 73 year old Jake, and his nephew Charles hit 173 yard tee shots all day, and lined up putts like there was a green jacket waiting for the winner on 18. On a monday FFS...... ZERO rangers out there maintaining pace of play, and zero mention of some "outing" while we were checking in. This is why golf is dying...

I really enjoy this course, but it was not in the best shape my last 2 rounds. The bunkers are not filled enough, yet filled with mostly packed soil and rocks. Even with that, my husband was swinging into tarp on 2 holes. The boxes could use some leveling.

Course is in great condition this year. Drains well. Has 2 inches of night before but fairway had no puddle of water. My socks were dry after walking 9 holes on Sunday morning. No ball marks on greens. Friendly staff. Overall good value for money.

Should be a great course but they have to change the slope of the first and fourth greens . The maintenance workers don't understand golf and place the holes in illegal spots on these holes which make them nearly impossible to putt on . I hit the first green in 2 - 12 feet away and 6 putted for an 8 . Great way to start , huh. The ball went up to the hole and rolled back at me further away each time until I finally nailed a 20 footer for 8. Other than the greens and the lack of knowledge from groundskeepers and probably greenskeeper , too - it's a great course. Now- change those greens !

Fantastic course. especially great that it's a county course Can be a little bit slow but overall fantastic. A little bit on the tough side and I would not know I was playing in NJ. The snack cart was around multiple times which made it better.

I will never play this course again, 610 am tee time pouring rain, $80+ dollars. No one ahead of us, not holding anyone up behind us. Ranger has the audacity to come up to us around the 5th/6th hole and say we need to pick up the pace bc we are ten minutes behind meanwhile we probably didnt tee off until 625 because the guy at the desk was arrogant and took his time. Ranger proceeded to joke about the pace the next three times he drove by. $80 plus and didn't see cart service once. Greens are in mediocre condition at best. This is the 3rd time playing there and same story every time. When we returned the cart, the starter says "about time". Smug idiots, whole crew of um.

Played July 2. People were very nice. Course in Good shape need some rain. Greens had a few problem areas. Over all a strong 4 star with Golfnow purchased tee time.

Played here on 9/9/16 for the 1st time and loved the course. Would have given it a fifth star if not for a few shabby tee boxes but Greens and fairways were in phenomenal shape. A good challenge from the blue tees as I'm a 12 handicap. Pace of play was good (4hr 10min round for 4 of us on a Friday afternoon). Staff was friendly and beer girl came around 4 times in our round

Played Sunset Valley for the first time last week and the course was fantastic. Tees were in good shape and greens were fast and true! Really great layout of holes, #4 and #7 on the front were a lot of fun and loved #13-#18. They have been doing some bunker work too which is always nice to see. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone in Northern Jersey

I was rushed to get on the tee as soon i walked in the pro shop. I had a 10:40 tee time and it was only 10:10. I was hoping to use that half hour to warm up, but couldnt. Then on the fifth or sixth hole. The ranger said we were 12 minutes behind. He was very rude to my cousin and myself. I felt very rushed to play golf at this course, and for that i will not return. Also the greens are extremely firm and fast. Not enjoyable what so ever.

Sunset is a decent public coarse. Hopefully if you play there, someone will be in the proshop to check you in? That was not the case last Friday at 5:30pm. My son and I waited for 20 minutes for someone to check us in. Finally, Someone appeared and we were charged full boat, knowing that we would only get in a few holes. I will not be back to Sunset.

Ughhh... thats all i have to say. Played here in may 2018 and there is nothing exciting to write about this course. The staff was disorganized and not helpful. I had to wait extra 20 min for a cart to be free since the large outing was using all of them. Not a good start if you ask me. From there, some tee boxes were wrecked, even from the tips. Greens and fringe were burnt out and chunked. Not fun to play on. The layout was just blah and a couple holes were just stupid. Wont play here again. Sorry

Hands down the worst county course I’ve ever been to yet. They don’t push players through the round at a good rate, and they charged my CC twice. Not please with the service that was given. Go here if you have 5 hours to spare in order to finish a round.
