The course is laid out OK, there's a driving range and a chip and putt area . The greats are in poor shape right now to much cut grass in fairways. I've played here the last three years and this is the first time I was disappointed but will give it more play and hopefully they can spruce it up

I went to mini golf. Idk what they're trying to pull with the mini golf course. Everything else looks excellent and the mini golf is absolutely terrible.

Owner heard me saying the club rental price was steep for the quality of the clubs to a friend, and gave me cash out of his own pocket! Great customer service, good course as well.

Nice course for the not so talented golfer.

Horrible pace of play

Was charged 8 dollars for mini golf. They got new green for it but they clearly dont keep up with it or the course. Many plants sticking out where you start from. Many leaves all over the courses which prevent a good hit on the ball. I should have asked for a refund. Old guy doing the register was also very cold and unfriendly. Wont be returning.

perfect for beginner golfers only down-side is the miserable, old man who works the counter. he'll lie and tell you they don't accept golfnow bookings, LIE! he also mentioned once that, "ya know, we don't make any money when u book it thru golfnow!!" hey old-man, go away!! YOU are the reason there are negative reviews!! #grumpyoldman

Not what you would call a " Championship course" but a good place to test your skills at a price you can afford !

I am a 20-year patron of this course. It's around the corner from my house and I have many friends that I have met here over the years--dozens. However, this past Sunday, September 20th, I was disrespected and insulted beyond belief and will no longer spend money here. I will not go into the tone and content of the words spoken to me by pro-shop guy, but I was lied to about price and services and literally laughed at and patronized as I paid money and walked out to walk the course (they refused to give me cart due to "darkness". It was 4pm...both groups behind me got carts). It's sad. This is the best value around for golf and though I have spent thousands of dollars here since 1995, the infraction is unforgiveable. I'm a single-handicapped golfer who played this course twice a week, or more and I taking my business to Ramblewood, Rancocas, Deerwood and Hanover from now on. In the end, I finished walking the course in 2.5 hours...long before it got dark, and left at least four groups with carts out there behind me. I'm not a person who likes confrontation. I let my wallet do the talking.

I called to ask about pricing and times especially since its my first time and the person i spoke to was very rude and hung up on me as he was saying bye

I don't get where the negative reviews come from. The mini-golf course is a bit beat, but that's not the point of this place. Its a good local and affordable golf course. The staff is very nice and accomodating. The course was very well kept. The fairways were groomed, the sandtraps were nice and groomed, and the greens were in excellent shape. Most consistent greens I've seen in a year and a half aside from a $70-100 course. Its a nice flat course, so its great to walk! Get some exercise in while playing. I'll definitely be back. Definitely worth giving it a shot for a decent price of $30 (+$15 for cart which is a bit steep though).

Dont' expect to get out at your tee time. Had a 6:30 tee time and they don't even open to check in until 6:30. Also, DO NOT expect a warm greeting when you arrive. Some of the grumpiest damn employees on the face of the earth! The course is however in pretty good shape and the grounds crew was out in full force keeping it that way.

Feel this is a good all around beginners golf course. Flat and fairly open although some trees do overhang some fairways making for slightly challenging shots. Hadn't played here in a number of years and the conditions have significantly improved. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Only thing that had me lower the rating slightly was that the greens had a lot of ball marks, which really isn't management's fault but lazy clientele that don't understand golf etiquette, and tee boxes that were so hard and dry that you almost needed a hammer to tee up your ball. Those two items aside, we had an enjoyable 9 holes and my daughter and I will definitely be back to play more golf at Springfield.

Scott Dawson

I stopped playing at Springfield 15yrs ago because the course conditions were getting pretty bad. I decided to play there with a friend today thinking that after all of these years, bad reviews, and time to make improvements, it must have gotten better. Boy, I could not have been more wrong. It’s worse now than before. On the walk up to the clubhouse, there were potholes in the pavement that I rembered from back then, only they are bigger now. Every single green was almost unputtable due to bare patches making your ball bounce off line every time you had to putt across one. (And this is after a rainy summer here in New Jersey, so the greens are that bad from neglect, not from dry spells). On most holes, you couldn’t tell if you were in the fairway or rough. The 14th fairway alone was like a cow pasture. Some sections of the cart paths were either almost overgrown or in almost unsafe condition. And on top of everything, for the privilege of playing in such luxurious conditions, they charge some of the highest greens fees around. $44 per golfer on a Sunday morning. We could have played a much nicer course for less. This is a family owned course and I’m all for supporting family businesses, but only if the family cares about what they are giving the paying customer. This family does not seem to. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Matthew Moore

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The course however is in very poor shape. The tee boxes are very unkept, the cart paths look like Normandy (pot holes and roots make them almost undrivable), and the fairway is hard to identify with all the overgrowth and weeds. If your looking for a spot to really drive that last nail in the "I should just quit..." decision than this is the perfect spot for you. Otherwise, take your money and play somewhere that actually invests in the quality of the course.

Nice place had fun for my first time we did chip and putt can't wait to go again

William Elton

This course needs some work. It was a hit deal through Golf Now so I can't complain about the pricing. The course itself is ok, but the layout isn't very good. The club house could stand to be torn down and rebuilt. Watch the mud on 14!

I played here with 3 other people. The course itself was great, well kept and challenging but also good for a beginner like myself. My problem lies in the staff. There was 4 of us playing and we took our time and let a few doubles and single players go ahead of us so we didn't have to rush. Total time for 18 holes was almost 5 hours, and upon returning our carts, the guy questioned what took us so long and implied that we had played more than the 18 holes we paid for. Also, if you enjoy having a few beers on the course (or even inside at the bar for that matter) you have to fill out some form and wait 72 hours to get a "bar card" There is no mention of this on their website.

I'm sorry Michael . I was just joking with my friends and was talking about another course in the area, but I will not mention the name of that course

Both my fiancée and I had the day off, which is a rarity, and wanted to play mini golf. We found this place online and were impressed by the pictures that were posted and thought it would be fun. Let me be clear that this was one of the most neglected mini golf courses that I have ever been on. That includes the makeshift mini golf course that we built in Iraq with practically nothing. The overgrown and unkempt plant life blocked a lot of the course leaving little option to go left or right if split by an obstacle. The astroturf was faded, worn and crusty, almost appearing that someone took a blowtorch to sections of it. To make matters worse, the cost was really steep at $20 for the two of us. We hurried through the course, as to at least pretend we were getting some enjoyment out of the course and hopped in our vehicle as quickly as possible. I wanted to ask for a refund and complain about the course, but I didn't think I would be able to clearly convey my frustrations without raising my voice and swearing at the absurdity of the "experience" we just paid for. We were so unsatisfied, that instead of going home, we drove well out of our way to Funplex on Rt 38 and paid $12.50 for a round of fun on a well kept, challenging course. We should have went to Funplex in the first place. Needless to say, I will never be returning to Springfield Golf Center. Their mini golf course either needs substantial renovation or to be shut down for good.

I've been playing Springfield for at least 10years now. The staff is VERY courteous and professional. However, the course conditions seem to get worse each year. Especially the tee boxes and greens. Major Overhaul needed

Stephen Rule1reboot

Nice open course. The conditions of the course are Hit or miss year by year. I joined another club 2 years ago so I haven't played in a while, but it was a great place to get your game in shape early in the year. Particularly because it's relatively inexpensive.

first time playing sunday 8/18/19, grouped with a nice 3some, had a great time. course was in ok shape, greens being better than rest of course. Cashier had long line, need a better check in proceedure. No warm-up bucket, for those looking to get ready to play, $8 for small bucket is not feasible. saw a player wearing a wife beater and gym shorts, not cool

Dave Macey

Updated review. Mike..I'd give zero stars if possible.. $32 for 9 holes of a garbage course? I paid $43 for 18 at Kresson which is way better.. fairways too long. Fairways like swamp land.. holes from puddles, dank everywhere.. driving range with torn netting next to 16th tee with range balls all around..while you praying no one launches a ball and hits you when you are teeing off..do yourself a favor and dont waste your time on this overgrown unmanicured dump.. they are a RIP off..hole 14 has brown scouring through green

Great people great place to golf

Greg de Charleroy

If you are looking for a cheap game, this is the place to go. They have it all, pro shop, 18 holes, chip and putt, driving range and mini golf. I have been going here since I was a kid. I believe they just redid their mini golf, but I haven't had the chance to being my kids there since they did. I like their driving range, and it is easily the cheapest one around. The chip and putt is decent as well and they keep it relatively clean.

Convenient because its nearby. Needs work... carts are pretty new and are in great shape, can also charge devices with USB port. Cart paths are not good, the layout has potential but just can be better maintained. The price to play is the biggest negative I see. Until the course improves, I think fair pricing should be essential. However, I understand its hard to make improvements if your not making money. But 10 bucks off the price is fair until more improvements are made just like the addition of the new carts.

T O'H

Nathan Reetz

The course is good if you can get a deal on it, but the fairways are patchy at best, the greens were the slowest i've ever played and not in good shape. Cart path needs desperate help-- felt more like a 4x4 trail than a golf course.

Mike Garwood

There was a time when I would have rated the Springfield course as being in bad shape, but the conditions are improving. Comparing the last time I played there (5/6/13) and the time before that (summer of 2011 or 2012, I don't remember), there's a noticeable difference. I was surprised. For the price, it's pretty good.

Nice driving range pitch and putt

Billy Gilbert

Decent course for the price

Martin Hummer

This course needs alot of work and definitely is not worth the $44 dollar fee for 18 holes with a cart. They cut all areas the same length so there are no fairways and you are basically hitting out of the rough all day. The sand traps are not manicured or raked and need attention. Also it was 88 degrees today and they do not put water out on the course. We will never play here again.

antman8003

15$ to walk 9 holes of this dog track is a joke of a rate, their winter rates should be their regular in season rates, for a short course it gets tons of play, I felt like I was only person there under 55 years of age, old hackers paradise I guess, was going to just use driving range but no grass for that; just mats, the course feels like a slightly larger chip and putt, didn't play a full 9 cause pace of play was so brutal, I was reprimanded for hustling (fast walking) to first tee just to get out there and keep it moving, the usga's "while we're young" marketing promotions didn't reach these guys, their after 6pm rates are reasonable but with the pace there; you won't get enough holes in...maybe in the winter its probably an ok practice track, conditions overall were of (tee boxes no grass, but greens in decent shape) good for beginner's but poor value track, was hoping as a solo to walk 9 holes in about 1.5 hours short course, but way too crowded, ok for some I guess...ok little practice track if you can find a time when a lot of people aren't there

Dave H

Friendly staff, deceit practice facility, good course for novice golfers or anyone who wants to play an inexpensive round. Greens are good, tee boxes are rough, fairways were in ok condition.

W Tucker

Great value- very friendly and accommodating staff!

Mark Richardson

I have been playing at Springfield for many years. The fairways and greens have never looked and played as well as this year. This is a great course to walk, forgiving for the novice yet with enough challenges to interest a low handicapper. By far the best value in central Jersey. This picture is sunrise over the 3rd fairway.

I love playing at Springfield I always get treated like family there. The owner is a great guy always friendly the course is fun and open. It's a public course sometimes you get stuck behind slow people or beginners but I spent almost every day there last summer while I was learning never had a bad day. If you want affordable golf on a nice 18 hole course this is your place. Really great people.

Definitely good course for those who score in the 90's or above. Patience is needed since you will find beginners. For those who shoot in the 80's the layout should enable you to go low. I enjoy it because I walk and it is not too long or hilly.

If I could give it 0 stars I would have, reserved a tee time online and when I got there they said they wouldn't honor it and I should've called! They didn't even try to help at all just said too bad! Don't go there they are terrible

I don't know where some of the people that have left reviews played but my experience at this course was very good. The fairways were in very good shape and the greens were well maintained. The staff was courteous and friendly and the 19th hole was a welcome spot at the end of our round. I plan on playing there again and would recommend this course to others.

Disappointed that they don't have mini golf at night because they won't turn the lights on. They have something else they call Softball Golf though. But it's $12 a round for 9 holes and a lot harder than mini golf. Not for young kids....
