Can you say weeds and lots of them!!! I've played Shore Gate over the course of many years and have always found this course to be challenging and in great shape. I played today and while the fairways and greens were in good shape the rest of the course was borderline "dog-track". They are getting overwhelmed by crabgrass - it's everywhere. The waste area bunkers look like they haven't been cared for in years. The fringes around the traps were in horrible shape. The condition that this course is in is terrible - terrible -terrible. Certainly not worth the $105 greens fees and probably not worth 1/2 that. I will not play this course again until I hear that it's condition has turned around. Damn shame - loved this course

Beautiful course. They guy wrangling carts in the morning seemed annoyed we were there to hit the range and putt. Attitude goes a long way and this will be the last time I use that facility.

Amazing course with a friendly staff. Best course on the Jersey Shore and I would recommend everybody to play it. Just bring lots of golf balls because it is very difficult.

The course has declined as compared to last year. Pros - greens smooth and consistent - challenging layout - staff is friendly Cons - price not commensurate to course - Greenside bunkers were unmaintained for weekend round - Pace of Play was almost 5 hrs The course is worth it for a cheaper rate around $80-90.

Shore Gate is in my top 5 course -ever! The course design is marvelous -- every hole is unique and fits my eye. Though off-season, a lot of routine maintenance is keeping the course shining. If you want a great golf experience, play Shore Gate -- you will not be disappointed.

Top notch golf course. I would say best for the South Jersey area in courses open to the public. Make sure you tee it up from a proper set of tees to make the experience the best it can be. It's a tough golf course, but far from unplayable.

Really fun course. Challenging for a novice like myself. A ton of sand and water, narrow fairways, the pins were in very challenging locations when I played. A lot of tall grass and not very forgiving if you don’t hit it straight. Overall it is kept up very well. When I played, I guess it had rained a bit recently and the bunkers were almost impossible to hit out of. Just have to stay out! It is a very good layout and has a few very long holes. Definitely worth the money.

Played on 7/12/19 with a foursome the course was cart path only. We had a foursome behind us and they never had to wait on us. At the turn a ranger stop us and said we were play to slow and to pick up the pace he was vary ignorant. When we said the group behind us never had to wait on us he said it doesn't matter your not on pace (it was cart path only) he didn't want to hear anything he was very rude and wrong to treat paying customers that way. When we finished our round there were 3 open holes behind us. The fore of us play every Friday and are local we will never play at Shore Gate again.

One of the best, most well kept, fun courses I’ve ever played. Very challenging as well. You very rarely have a flat lie, even when on the fairways. Misses are not forgiving. If you like challenging golf, you will have a really fun time. Beautiful course.

I was fortunate to play this course today and was pleasantly surprised by the fairways and greens. The fairways were in excellent condition and held most of my shots, but score card was littered with three putts. I would suggest this course if you’re staying near the Jersey shore
