Karen in the Pro Shop is curteous and freindly and polite. She is a shining example of the staff at Royce Brook. I play there often and have the players card which provide great savings if you play more than 3 or 4 times. Great layout, true fast greens and some challenging holes and some birdie opportunites. Tall fescue increases the challenge. Only complaint is the lack of sand in the traps on some holes and poor drainage in some traps, but hey.....keep the pill out of the beach! After the round, try the food. Superb. I bring my wife and kids there just for lunch. Exceptional.

Excellent golf course, nice restaurant with a very relaxing deck overlooking the course, and wonderfully executed special events.

Played East course on 8/11/19. Tee time was 7:52. Did not tee off until 8:30! No reason other than jamming in too many tee times; every 8 minutes. Then pace was horrific. No ranger. 5 hour round. Finally the front 9 traps are red mud. No kidding, red mud. They are definitely not sand traps. Then on the back 9 you never know what type of trap you would get. Sometimes sand. Sometimes red mud. Only thing good about the round were the immaculate and predictable greens. My foursome and the one behind us all agreed. Never coming back.

This club is a the most underrated and understated gem in the area. The staff is especially considerate, the Pro Shop very well stocked, course operations efficient, practice facilities really good, and the courses challenging and generally well kept. The public side (East) can be crowded like any other, but the private (West) where I am often a guest is sublime. Yes conditions vary from time to time (like any other place) but overall the experience is spectacular. Can't say enough about the place (shout out to Karen in the Pro Shop) and hope it doesn't become more popular than it already is.

Played the east course here today. Overall it was a good experience but not great. I pulled up to the bag drop and there was no attendant. Some guy in a large golf cart truck asked me to load my bag into the back of the cart and he drove it over to the starting area. The Clubhouse is clean and spacious. The pro shop is standard. The service in the shop was decent. You have to scoop your range balls there and then drive them out to the range after you get a cart. Starter was nice. Conditions: Tee boxes were excellent. Only a couple were really burnt out which puzzled me a bit since most were pristine. A couple tee markers were placed right at the front of the box which I don't like cuz it makes you tee off a bit on down slope. Fairways: excellent Rough: very good. A couple of spots could use a cut. Like hitting out of thick carpet. Greenside: very good Greens: excellent. No issues with ball marks, rocks, bumps etc. Pace was good. 4.5 hours for a foursome on a Friday am Sand traps: here is my issue- there are a LOT of traps on the course. Multiple on every hole. The majority of the traps had very little soft sand in them! Had to hit from hard "clay" or desert-like rock. No good. These were the Greenside bunkers. The fairway ones were worse in some cases. These really need work asap and Then you would have a great course. You can find rates online for less than rack. I'd really like to come again soon but will not at until they load in more sand. Make it fair at least!

Really disappointed, expected more from Royce Brook. I’ve played here 2 times before, but I (and 3 guys I played with) definitely will not return. To start, a course charging $100 greens fees should include range balls. We tees off at 6:10, sprinklers were on full blast. Had to call club house to ask them to turn them off, woman in club house said “no problem”. Sprinklers were never shut off and we had to play first 4 holes around full blasting sprinklers. Fantastic. Got to 5th hole, asked worker to please turn them off, to which he replied “no, can’t, they’re automatic.” Way to go above and beyond. Greens were full of unrepaired pitch marks. Many greenside bunkers were lakes, let alone not groomed. Hasn’t rained in weeks. Pace was fine, probably because people are figuring out this track is way overpriced and does not justify $100 per round. Very disappointed, I’ll spend my time and money elsewhere.

The staff is very kind and helpful. Really enjoyed the dining hall and food was amazing. Can’t speak for the golf but would definitely recommend this place for a banquet.

Players beware!!!! The golf course books golf outings on the weekends which limits play. Paying for the platinum membership is A waste if you plan on playing on the weekends. I bought the platinum card and played once at 5 hours and 45mins!!!! We waited on every shot. No ranger. No concern. Brought both issues up at the club house. On the outings they said “well it is the only time the event could play”!!! Lol. As for slow play they said they don’t send rangers out unless less they get complaints !!!!! Perhaps I am the only player who was disappointed by long days and slow play at golf at $100 per round.
